Yay, new thread!!

I dunno about Charm heads on Youth body's, but I would be interested to know too, because I might want to give my hubby a Baron eventually. It's his dream doll and he isn't even in the hobby But the 70+ cm might be a bit much for him...

 

For some reason I can't remember how to get my Baron Samedi's faceplace off. x_x
This, though, is my Charm boy (B. Samedi) with my Youth boy (Qing Yin) I expect there would be some gapping, putting a Charm head on a Youth body. If I can ever remember how to get his head off, I'll try to confirm.

Oh that's helpful tygati. Personally I don't think I would hybrid those and that's a shame because I too think 70+ cm is way to big for me.

can we see your boys from front view ? their faceups looks quite interesting

 

I should probably point out that Kaith is a female head on a male body. I don't know if AS Youth boy heads are any bigger than their girl heads, but it may be a factor. Although the neck sizes are still pretty different.

Oy, cheesedemon88! I've got a question. So, I've been seriously thinking about ordering a Qing Yin in grey skin. She's limited, right? Do you know what number yours was?

 

@CoverGoth I asked them when I ordered mine in January, at that time they had 14 left, I didn't get the feeling that they were flying off the shelves though

@tygati I LOVE Kaith, and I musst say, I probably wouldn't recognize the sculpt if I didn't know what he was.

 

cheesedemon88 - Hahaha, I hope not! I think I'd heard that they were selling a little slower, but at the same time, there's a little part of me that's saying, "ASAP! Just bite the bullet!"

 

Well CoverGoth, if you don't have any other doll on top of your list, you might want to start saving, she was issued at 50 dolls in November 2011, so one might expect that she'll be sold out during this year.

 

That's a pretty good thing to know, actually. I don't have any other particular doll ahead of her on my list, it's more been...I'm swapping schools right now and just trying to get all my affairs in order before jumping in. Buuuut, I've been admiring her for a while now and your Qing Yin is lovely! And I saw her box opening when you put it up.

 

Hi everyone!! I'm so excited! My favorite seamstress has agreed to make a regency dress for my Kana special! I ... don't exactly have the doll yet, but I plan on ordering her sometime this summer. By the time she arrives, she will have a marvelous outfit!!! I can't wait!!

My sister and I love two charms, I love the general hua xi and she likes the sp hua xi they're awesome sculpts but so expensive so they'll probably be later sculpts for us but we love them both

I have absolutely fallen in love with the new(ish) Angell-Studio Michael! He's so gorgeous! When I get my current money sucker home, everything is going towards saving up for him. I love how he can look both angelic and devilish with the change of faceup and lighting.

Hi all, I was wondering if the size 8-9 wig can fit AS 1/3 dolls?

 

8-9 is what I have on my Qing Yin. It fits fine.

 

It's what I have on my Cinderella too, it fits great

 

I sure hope 8-9 is the right size! I have 2 wigs here in that size waiting for my Kana Sp!

If you guys buy from AS will you also get free eyes? (sorry if that question is common sense. Just wanted to clarify)

They do, but they don't mark down, so you'd need to probably pay customs fees. AS themselves do mark down the value of the package. I don't remember about the eyes, I don't think so. I ordered eyes with all my dolls from them, but I can't remember if I also got free pairs...

 

Hmmmm, if that's the case. Does anyone here has owner pics of Kana and Cinderella? (Lan's too pricey ) and what size of eye do they come or wear?

I love the Pink version and I'll get her on solid pink, oh. She's gorgeous. Does any regular SD clothes fit AS female and male dolls? Oh, I wanted to save up for Cinderella!

 

Yup, their measurements are pretty standard, so most SD or SD13 boy and girl clothes fit.

 

That's a relief, so you guys buy them from the site directly or the dealers? And do you include the faceup? Cause I just wanted to order Cinderella blank

 

I went through AS directly every time, both because it was cheaper and because they are very nice to work with. I may be wrong but I thought the difference between Pink, White, Snow etc. is only the face-up. So if you want to order her blank the version doesn't matter So yes, mine has the face-up. All my AS dolls have, because they have an amazing face-up artist, I think.

 

Having faceup is quite pricey to me since I live outside US ah-hah. Anyways, yeah I saw their company faceup and I am so smitten, do they pose good? Are they strung right when they arrive? I am so getting one of them someday!!

 

I know, they don't come cheap In my opinion they pose very well and they are strung perfectly when they come. I have replaced the silicon kips AS sends them with for hot glue sueding, though. The kips get lost in the joints. But my oldest AS doll is almost three years old now and they all still have their original elastic.

 

Oh, I see. Well I really liked these, and I am pretty sure some might come as my 2nd bjd, Cinderella's just so pretty. Angell-studio may not be affordable. But I really loved those beautiful 1/3 sculpts

 

I've been drooling over the Angell-studio style for a while. but since my first doll has yet to arrive I think it best I research these guys. What is the 'kips' that are mentioned here. And would anyone know if items are still available as long as they are posted up?

 

Kips are little silicon discs that they put in the joints to help posing and mobility...stops the joints from snapping together or moving out of the desired positions and is an alternative to hot-glue sueding. Endymion still has his, but that's mostly because I'm too lazy to un-string him to take them off But they aren't bad. The only ones I really wanna get ride of are the ones in his elbow joints as I find they keep trying to pop out

I also ordered my doll blank, but that had more to do with the character I was basing him on then anything. I really did love TuSu's default (thought it was gorgeous and drooled over the pictures the whole time I waited for him to get him), but it wasn't right for Endymion, so I got him blank and had his faceup commissioned...mind you, it would have been cheaper to get his default

Anyways, have some more spam of Endymion...took these photos weeks back and never got around to posting them

With AS you won't have to insert them, they come already installed. If you want to put them in other dolls, I think searching Youtube for restringing tutorials would be your best bet

Angell Studio has some gorgeous dolls. My best friend ordered Kana a few months ago. She finally received it but unfortunately, it was without a face up but they are going to do the face up for her when she ships the head back s good customer service I say .

 

Oh no, puppeteyes! I hope my Kana has a faceup when it arrives! I'm glad they're letting her send it back for a faceup though. Good customer service is always a plus with companies

My order was sent in Mid-april through Mint on Card. So it's been just over 3 months. I still have 2 layaway payments to go though, so it's okay if they take their time!~

 

Wow, congratulations. Unfortunately for me. I am going to order Cinderella without a faceup because I wanted to do it myself or commission someone to do it for me

 

She was so bummed too (it's her first doll). But A S and MoC got everything cleared up so hopefully it won't take long! . I hope yours arrives with her face up and I am sure she will be lovely ^-^

My friend has a sun tanned one and she did some research and found that they turn green quite easily, so you'll have to be carefull with sunlight and accept that the doll will turn green in time anyway

 

I wonder if somebody can tell me something about angell-studio Michael. He likes me, and I hope to find some fotos here, but seems that they do not exist yet. Is he a new mold? I want to see heim with some new make up...

 

I think he's one of their newer releases. I haven't seen any around yet, I'd like to see some more of him myself!

 

Michael IS a brand new doll. You can't find photos anywhere! I've looked. Hopefully more people will buy him and we can get some non-stock pictures soon. He's SO gorgeous!

 

I was starting to go stir-crazy with all the waiting for my three dolls that I started to plan a 4th doll!! So I figured the best solution was to just end my layaway with MoC and have my lovely AS doll arrive!

I just emailed MoC now to tell them I wanted to finish my layaway Hopefully I can have her by the end of the week or early next week! Yay!! I'll definitely post pics when she arrives!

 

I was wondering if anyone knew how any of the AS resin colors matched the newest Leekeworld resin? I'm getting a Noella head in normal skin and want to find a nice body to match it. I love the AS double jointed body! All the resin colors are so nice, I hope one of them matches.
