Angell-Studio Waiting Room v4

@pinkittycat I am planning on sewing for my new girl, who is my first SD size doll. I have been trying to do the sewing projects, so I'm hoping this month it'll be with Cynthia! Plus it's a big haul, so I'm debating about doing an unboxing video.

 

Yeah these guys will be my first yosd bjds so I'm having a hard time starting to sew for them... I've even started making a roombox and furniture. I might be a little obsessed.
Ouuuuuu I'd love to see an unboxing video! I find there aren't many for angell-studio, especially their yosds, unboxing via for those are few and far between. Is it just me or is angell-studio not as popular as they deserve?

 

You should! I love box opening vids and Angell Studio doesn't have nearly enough!

Definetly! I'm so impressed with my Cynthia I've already purchased another doll and am saving for at least two more
I was surprised how few photos I could find when I was doing my research, I'm Glad I took the plunge!

 

I always felt the same way about not having enough photos. I am at least one of those people who can imagine different eyes or wigs, but someone might do something totally different from what I have in mind, so that's good to see too.
I am nervous I'm not going to bond with Cynthia after I saw Charlotte, but I think a lot of that is because she came out after I ordered Cynthia. I know Jimmy is on my wtb list for the future, but I don't think I would enjoy sewing for him as much as I really enjoy making lolita dresses or skirts. Maybe I should make her aprons in the meantime!

 

I'm not sure if it will be the same for you but I find Cynthia is much more delicate and youthful in person. If you were worried she might be more on the mature side

Wow Yuna-ki! She's gorgeous! I know yosds aren't all that popular but I just don't find myself pulled towards sds and msds the same as yos. But it's still great to see owner pics of dolls. It's been super hard for me to find owner pics of Bake an Mini gus, especially on the new starry body, but I have a lot of hope, and a fairly strong imagination so I'm sure I'll be fine. I just use the owner pics as a way to satiate my need for them, because I know I have QUITE a ways to wait. It sometimes takes quite awhile to get a response form AS.
I've also always wanted AS dolls so I'm glad I took the plunge (even though the Canadian dollar's super weak right now, only about .75/1$ US :C) I'm just super looking forward to getting my boys. I should get back to working on their diorama and furniture, hopefully they'll look fine with/in it all. ^^

I've never owned a YoSD sized doll before, but I've been thinking how it would be so nice to have a little doll to sit on my computer desk and bring around with me easily...

The AS Yo's are particularly tempting!

 

Oh I feel all the complaints about the Canadian dollar... I adore my custom Bing Yi but I had to put her on layaway because of the USD. I have to say though, Even for the extra 25% we pay, I am so glad I'm not American.

 

Yeah totes, super true, I'm very glad to be Canadian, and always have been. I mean I've wanted to travel the world, but never wanted to really move anywhere else. I've thought about moving to another country but never ever the states, even if getting things I love would be SO much easier!

 

I feel this. I'm not the fondest of my city (so dry! And constant pressure changes!) but I've never wanted to live in any other country. I figure victoria is where I want to be.

On a more on-topic note, I've just gotten my Bing Yi back from her faceup! I'm totally going to have to post some when I'm on my home computer

Omg, I came home to a big box on my doorstep! It's so heavy! Cynthia and all her things are finally here!
I'm so excited, but I'm going to try to video my opening, so I'm keeping myself from just getting into it immediately. I'll try to post pictures tonight!

Does anyone else have problems standing up the new body? I can't seem to make her stand, like the hip joint won't move or is strung too tight?

 

My Cynthia was strung really tightly, she stands perfectly. But when I sit her down it's tough to get the legs back to the standing position ^^; I figure that will go away as she loosens up over time.

Did you also get the high heel legs?

 

Yes, I got the high heel legs. I think she's strung really tight, so that's probably it.

I got my boys and they are absolutely GORGEOUS they are so CUTE and I love them!

I'm also super glad that the sailor outfit fit my Mini Gus, though I don't have any eyes for him, and no wig for my Bake. I still love them soooo much! And their skin tones are SO perfect! Their resins are so pretty and perfect and smooth, I'm so glad I got the translucent butter and translucent pink.

Thank you, I may post more pics when their a little more 'finished'. And I was planning on posting a pictorial unboxing of them since I took a ridiculous amount of pics. Is that a thing people do? Oddly enough I find that AS's yosd's aren't all that popular, even though their adorable. *shrug*

 

I always take a lot of photos, and I've been doing this for over 12 years!

I'm surprised I don't (edit!) see more AS dolls period. They've been around for a long time and have great dolls. But there are a LOT of companies and a LOT of dolls... so it's easy for it to seem like there aren't a lot of them around, but maybe the owners just aren't posting a lot? I've tried looking for dolls from super-popular companies and it's still not all that easy to find lots of photos. There are just a lot of dolls and a lot of place to post things, and a lot of ways to post so that it's not easy to search... and many people who never post in the first place...

 

Yeah! It's a shame too because AS are so stunning. I'd love to see some more owner pictures, it's also nice to see them in multiple settings and in different styles.

I went ahead and e-mailed MoC to get the status of my order, and they replied saying that AS is trying to get out the October and November orders at the same time. I didn't think I'd hear from them till tomorrow, so it was nice of them to reply during the weekend! No huge rush, I'm just not used to waiting quite this long, lol.

 

Oh, hooray! I got a faceup pic from Angell-Studio a couple weeks ago, so I've got my eyes peeled for a shipping notice!

 

Not a new doll, but I just splurged and bought the "Retro Noble Viscount Dress" for Mel (AS Baron Samedi skull). He'll have TWO outfits now and I'm kinda derpy excited about that. So I'm just gonna loiter in here and watch all your dollies come in.

@Yumeko-chan Is she the regular yosd body? I feel like someday I'm going to need an AS yosd. I'm not sure how different they are from other companies. Also, I love their yosd clothes!

I did, I'm sure they will find a solution. Just a bit of a shock, especially since I wasn't 100% sure it was the wrong sculpt for a few minutes

Xi Shi is really lovely, She's been on my wish list awhile. Despite the circumstances its sorta cool to see her IRL ^^;;;

 

hopefully they will have a solution for you, would you keep the head? and I can only imagine, I'd be pretty shocked too considering it's kinda a prominent mistake to make.

same tbh, xi-shi's super pretty! and weirdly enough it's like you got two dolls in one? but i suppose you would have wanted each separately!

 

I'm very particular about noses as far as what sculpts I like. From the side photo I thought it looked like another sculpt too. She is also on my list of the ones from Angell Studio that I like the most, but if I had ordered Charlotte I'm not sure what I would think. Hope to see the real Charlotte soon, as she's on my wish list to order at some point in time.

 

Hmm, only just noticed the waiting for AS. I probably should have looked a bit harder, oh well.

That must have been a pretty bad feeling when you realised. At least she was a doll that was on your wishlist, it would still be disappointing though. I would be interested to know what AS's response to this is. Purely out of self-interest due to my recent Charlotte order concern for you of course

They have responded but we haven't found a resolution yet. They offered for me keep the Xi Shi face plate and sell me a Charlotte head at a discount, which I'm not interested in, but I understand why they offered this first.

Since I'm not really interested in a floating faceplate, even a pretty one, I wrote back that we will have to find another solution and am waiting on a reply~

 

At least they are talking to you, that's obviously a good sign that they'll try and fix things. Good luck...
