Yeah, I saw that and would have to agree. I really liked Snow as well, I prefer the droopy ears actually, but I'm not much a fan of the sleepy eyes as well. Maybe one of these days I can find a way to get the other ears.

 

I didn't even think about the ears, I don't plan on using them. Maybe you can ask AS to exchange them for you?

 

I've already pre-ordered, so I don't know if it's too late for that. I don't know how often he'll have the ears on, but I really like the idea of it

 

Homigosh guys... they just came out with two more babies and they are darling! Always after I've made an order already... but Cassie is super cute... man oh man lol. I think my Ice will be getting a play mate some day.

Someone cares to tell my why Cassie is more expensive than Dino? Oh and...are those new hands? O-o My Noche definitely doesn't have hands like those...although I guess he IS on the old single-jointed body, but I thought the hands remained the same...

 

I honestly don't know why she's more expensive. x-x I didn't notice the hands either.

I wonder if they will sell those wings... they are gorgeous.

I doubt it'll happen but I emailed AS to see if they started my order and if not it they can change my Ice to Cassie... I'd die of happiness if they did but I doubt it since the order was about 3wks ago (but on layaway...) Ahhh, fingers crosssssed.

 

They also have a difference in price though >.<;; Oh well, I hope they'll do it c: So I can see a Cassie besides the company's pictures *v*

Maybe the wings are includded in her price? /: And that's why she's more expensive? >_<;;; Oh well...

 

Hello everyone! I thought I'd add some new blood to this thread.

I ordered a Gus baby head on January 22nd and he's already been shipped!! I can't believe how fast that was! I'm hoping he'll arrive right in line with my MSC order so I can do his face up and bring a new sculpt to the discussion. I didn't order a body, but now I'm considering it. What do you owners think of the body compared to other brands?

 

Yay, Gus! Congrats! Well, I may be biased, but the AS teensie body is great in my opinion, actually right up there with my Littlefee. I have a body review up on my YouTube channel, if that helps...

 

Just made my final payment on the Hua-Xi. God I'm gonna pop before the 'shipped' email even arrives. It feels like I'm getting my first doll again. Hey, I have a question... what hands do the baby's come with by default? In their company pictures, it seems like these babies are being shown with all kinds of hands. Is there a default set of hands, or do you get random poses, or what? I'm a bit worried about the Hua-Xi coming with one hand "pointing" like in his pictures.

Aw, your Momo is so cute! I have a total weak spot for that sculpt, I've wanted one for years! Where did you find those adorable clothes and shoes? So cute!

My Bella came with both pointy and fist hands, but she was a limited sculpt, so that might have made the difference. They do sell seperate 1/6 hands though. Maybe you could ask the rep if you want to make sure?

 

Just wanted to say your Momo is so well put-together. I love how her clothes fit so nice, and her hair. Hmm It's like I thought then, (most likely) It's really a matter of do I want to wait till he gets home and see them till I order some extra hands, or wait... I need to order his wig still anyhow (forgot it when I ordered) decisions, decisions..

 

They said they started my order already so I couldn't change it. Pity, apparently
Cassie is limited!!! What a pity, I won't be able to get her in time.

Oh my goodness Momo and I are so flattered Her wig is the default Momo (New Style) wig and her outfit is the Sugar Waffle set from Pipos! (here's a link!) It comes with the dress, petticoat, socks, cardigan and purse. My only complaint is that it's really hard to get the cardigan on without the sleeves of the dress bunching up and looking silly. Her shoes I bought second hand on the market place, I really don't know where they came from

Here's a picture of the full outfit, plus a Mime Jr. in the purse, lol. Her hair is a little messy cause I can't find the wig brush...

Wennie: those mini Loopsies are the perfect size for 1/6 doll dollies -- I think it's the skinny arms and legs



Does anyone else have trouble photographing the translucent colors? I have a fairly sophisticated DSLR and it can't seem to focus easily on the french resin. I think there's more depth than the usual flat surface and it plays havoc with the autofocus feature, so I have to dial it in manually. No big deal, but none of my other dolls are so finicky...

 

Momo's a french resin, but I use my iPhone camera I haven't noticed any trouble yet

 

Six of my dolls are French resin and I haven't experienced any trouble with them in particular, but it might be that I don't shoot with a DSLR (amateur here, lol).

 

lol! I think that's it -- my camera is too fancypants for the job. I have to say, the french resin is absolutely stunning in real life -- I just wish I could capture that in a photo too!

Poor North (AS Kimo) has been neglected a little lately, but I dragged him to work with me today so maybe I can contribute to the cute too. He's been in the same outfit for more than a year! D:
It's become his uniform lol...Every time I go to change it I just can't >.<

And, my roommate has a translucent white Ice (or snow...I can't remember which is french and which is urethane) and I don't think she's had issues photographing hers.....

But that's young Noche with older Yui TTvTT;;; Cause...I haven't yet bought older Noche and my friend doesn't have younger Yui yet either...but yep~ It was a pretty...random thing really, we never expected it, but because Yui has a demon inside him, he's kind of afraid of getting close to other people, but Noche has been with him since childhood...

 

Lol it looks like older Yui has a hard time tolerating being bossed around by younger Noche! What sculpt is Noche?

 

Ahahaha, I bet he does D': Poor Yui...but I'm sure he secretely has some fun too? ;v; And Noche is a modded Yuma. Here is a crappy photo I took once to show some other people in the thread the mod XD I asked my friend to do it like that so I can take interested photos with him ehehe. He can be sleeping, awake or winking depending on where you photograph him from ahaha. I will redo his face-up once I have my colors my Leeke...orz

zorua thanks! Your Momo is so cute! I love her pose, and her outfit! (I'm about to ask you like a bazillion questions) Is her name also Momo (lol)? Also is she a solid resin? Her resin looks different than my Momo's and I'm trying to decide if it's just the color difference, lol. What size are her eyes? I like the more realistic iris-size you've got going on there. And (last question I swear!) did you get a custom face-up? The purple is really nice on her, and I like the natural look of the rest of it. Sorry for so many questions!

I finally received my Gus today. Poor guy was almost a whole month in transit! But he arrived safe and sound.



Here is Luca, who barely had a chance to get comfortable at home before Genny got her hands on him.

And I DID have a bit of trouble getting a good shot of the french resin with my DSLR. His face was much brighter in person than it took in the picture.

Your Momo and mine would be different cause yours would be the new style, right? Mine is the Halloween Momo, which I presume would be of a solid resin and not French. Her faceup is the default one, and honestly I have no idea what size her eyes are because I personally bought them from a physical shop. Back then I didn't know much about dolls so the shopkeeper picked them out for me! Also Hea is of a sun-tanned skin.

Awww yay! Angell Studio finished my Ice's face up and sent me a preview. She's so pretty! I asked if they could add a bit more color to her lips but otherwise it's perfect. I love that they put blue eyes in her, that's what color I want in her haha.



now to pay her off so she can come home.

I've done my first photoshoot with Syjon. (Baby Hua-Xi) Here's the photo that best shows his face-up details around the eyes... which are wonderful. Love their faceup. (first time buying a doll with the faceup from company) He's absolutely enchanting. Transluscent pink w/ company faceup... I did blushing though. Gonna head to the AS 1/6 picture request thread with the rest of the photos.

 

Aw pity, I didn't expect her until tomorrow at the earliest but I missed her today! Oh well. I'll pick her up tomorrow since I'll be out and about anyway.

 

Be sure to post a bunch of pictures of her tomorrow!

Some clothes I ordered for Momo came in today, she looks so cute! This is a Volks casual outfit (or so it was described on the MP. It's definitely Volks, cause it came in the original packaging). (Please excuse the mess!)





It is just the littlest bit too big, which I don't mind, but you might wanna keep that in mind when looking for clothes if you want a perfect fit.

The light kinda washed her out a bit but here she is. I'm really disappointed in the face up. It looks nothing like the Mousse face up I ordered... she looks so boyish. Plus her face is like... so dirty. And she has a mark on her nose. I never buy face ups and I don't think I ever will again.

Awwww, I'm sorry you were disappointed Call Me Stephanie D': I think she looks fine and girly, I don't know about the dirt though, the camera doesn't seem to pick it up...I hope you'll like your girl anyway ;3; Maybe try to touch it up yourself a bit? Like, just add a bit of color to the lips or something...

I'm just disappointed... I paid a lot for a face up that looks NOTHING like what I asked for. This is the Mousse face up I asked for (just black eyebrows/lashes instead of brown)

As you can see, this face up is MUCH more pink, especially the lips and cheeks. That's what I wanted, that's why I asked for it.

 

Yea I can understand why you'd be disappointed >: I would be too if I paid for a face-up only for it to look different than what I requested /: I'm sorry...
Maybe you could ask Angell-Studio to refund the face-up? I mean, I don't know, they'll probably say that they sent you a picture and you said it was okay or something, but...it's worth a try? >:

 

They could... 'cept I asked them to change it and they sent it to me anyway haha. I'm going to email them then I suppose. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't over reacting.

 

I think asking Angell Studio to refund the face up is the best way to go from here, like what Shailara said. In your box opening thread, you stated that Angell Studio sent your Ice before you could finish asking them about changing it. That could be your argument! Because in this kind of world, the customer is always right

 

I agree with everything everyone above me has said! Especially since you did try to ask them to change it and they were like "whoops too late, she's already on her way!"

When we ordered my Momo, we didn't know that we were supposed to approve her face-up before they sent her, so Momo was just chillin' at Angell-Studio for literally 2 months before we were like "Where's Momo?" and they said "You never approved the face-up!" so we approved her and she came home, etc. etc. TL;DR-- I feel like that's unusual for Angell-Studio, to send them out without approval. I hope that made some sort of sense to anyone besides me.

Looking at the pictures of what you wanted and what you go, I almost wonder if they sent you someone else's head! (Also, her headcap is so much lighter than her face! In comparison it does look super dirty!)

 

Thanks everyone. I'm going to email them. I'm so sad about this. It was a lot of money for the face up... I wish I just did it myself and bought a dress instead.
