I was supposed to get Momo today, but no one was home to sign for her package! We're picking her up from the post office tomorrow!

I'm going to jump in here. I owned an AS Amy (MSD) and fell in love with the resin color. I had to sell her for financial reasons but now I want a yosd size doll.

I'm having trouble picking from Nona or Ice. I want Ice but Nona is up for a very good deal... and is ready to ship so no waiting. ah, I can't beat the temptation. It's my birthday in a few weeks! Hubby will understand... I just got a job so I can buy her myself. *Glee*

I love AS resin. I think I like it so much because I wasn't expecting it to be so nice...it's gorgeous and weighs a ton. Even for such a tiny doll XD

I have to look Nona up, but Ice and Snow are the same as Kimo and Kimi, so I know they're adorable! I love my Kimo...He's been in the same outfit forever at this point, but it's so perfect for him every time I get him out to change him I can't do it!

Already there and ready to ship is so tempting lol Good luck deciding!

 

Oh really!? I didn't know Snow and Ice were Kimo and Kimi. And here I was lamenting because I liked yours sooo much but absolutely didn't want grey resin (I'm after the french resin actually).

I'm trying to get the Nona for my birthday, hopefully she's still available. If not, I'm going to get Ice with a female body with the Snow face up for xmas. BTW, since I'm on the website, here's Nona:

I love AS's French resin...I am not crazy about french or enviro resin as a whole but I've painted two different FR AS dolls and it's gorgeous. My roommate has both Ice and Snow (both girls) in ws and one of them is the translucent. She's so pretty.

I need to drag poor North out of hibernation. All my bunnies need some love at this point lol I'm so neglectful!

I hope you can grab yours Stephanie, Ice or Nona (so cutes!!)!

I'm the roommate.....I love my snow....but I love my Ice more. I have them as twins even tough one is technically a boy and one is technically a girl, I have them both as girls. My Ice is translucent and the snow is solid white.....only because I didn't pay attention when I ordered them

OH... her wig is a DZ 6/7; fits beautifully. Her eyes are (full set lavender are 16mm) 12mm which I think suit her much better. The outfit is K2 yoSD size and fits wonderfully. The shoes are only doll and fit super super tight. I hurt my finger getting them on... but they did go on. So no socks. But they are cute.

She must be an older body? My new Nona has a face plate instead of the head cap. Also, there ARE boy bodies in the 1/6 size (you mentioned you weren't sure if there was). ^_^

Please, is there anyone with a HuaXi 1/6? I'm most likely going to put a white solid skin on layaway tomorrow, but pictures of his face especially would be appreciated. Also... how much of a difference is there between translucent skin and regular? I can see a bit of a color difference, but... is it literally see-through?

 

I have both solid white skin and translucent white skin. The solid white body is very white....and the transulcent isn't see-through....it's white, and it's gorgeous! It kind of makes the face-up float on the skin.

The doll on the left is the translucent and the one on the right is solid.

Personally i like the translucent better, I think that she looks softer.

Yeah that helped a lot.. I mostly understand now just from how you described it.. it's like thick, thick, white ice, right? This effect would not suit my boy..

Hmm.. wow. :/ someone beat me to him, it seems.. I asked for the last Huaxi they had, which is in Pink resin... I'm NOT sure if he'll be translucent or not (they didn't say), but it's that FACE that I love. It shouldn't end up mattering TOO much.. He's now marked as being sold out so I'm pretty sure I'm getting that last one. Guess I'm lucky I wasn't simply told "They're all gone! Sorry!" Thanks again, hmm I'll post pics in 3 months time.

 

I don't know if the pink is translucent or not, but I did a faceup on a translucent butter head for someone and it was gorgeous resin. I'm not a fan of french or environmental resin but honestly if I had to get a doll with it, I'd go with AS.

 

The default is translucent. My girl is translucent pink and it's gorgeous. Congrats on snagging the last!

 

Hello everyone ^ ^ It never really striked me to post here somehow O-o But I'm surprised this thread has only 5 pages OAO Angell-Studio has such adorable yo-sds after all >_< I really want Kimi, Kimo, Ice or Snow!!! But alas, I have other plans for now...
I have a modded Yuma though! Mod was done by my friend >v<; It's not great and not too smooth, but hoping I can get some sandpaper someday and smoothen it. Didn't bother me much when doing his face-up though. uvu Hmm, I think I'm his...third owner...he is supposed to be translucent white, but he has REALLY yellowed (I have some extra hands which are white white, compared to his creamy-ness XD). Still a gorgeous color, in my honest opinion!

 

Hmm, wow Shailara. I had to look up a picture of Yuma (didn't remember what he looked like...) Thats originally a SLEEPING head... I was wondering "what the heck did she mod...?" for a second... do you have clearer pics of that mod? It looks adorable from your shot, there! n_n

I just ordered a girl Ice in translucent pink with the Strawberry Mousse face up as well as a few extras to get the free wings. So excited!

Yes it is a pity. I debated getting a different YoSd just to be in a thread with more people... but AS resin, OMG... so godly. I'll just have to talk to myself a lot I guess. LOL jk. But yeah, I'm excited. I'm doing a layaway so it may take a while but it'll be worth it.

I asked them to do black eyebrows, I hope they can alter face ups slightly. I know she's going to have a black wig and she isn't human so she doesn't follow the "only blacks/asians have pure black hair" rules.

 

Oh yes, AS resin is divine! Since they do custom face-ups as well, I'm sure they can slighly alter an existing face-up. Having her with black hair sounds gorgeous, I'm curious to see how she'll come out.

Her name is Hea and I've had her since '09?? But I've just kept her in a glass case since then OTL She's been sitting there and she only has THREE (cough) outfits and she's been wearing this same dress for a year straight already. For the new year I plan to get her a new faceup, so does anyone have any suggestions??

 

Aw, she is such a cutie! I love that dress on her! What skintone is she? I really like the contrast of the darker skin with the light hair. Face-up suggestions, hmmm... Any general idea of what you're going for? Because the darker smoky-eye look really suits her, I think

 

Hea has tan skin! I was thinking of going for a warmer tone with freckles (because cute) but I think it might clash with her skin colour. She's in her default faceup right now, and in desperate need for eyelashes. I plucked off her remaining right eyelash just today lol OTL

 

Awww, that's such a pretty girl zorua ^ ^~ I think smoky-eyes do suit her indeed and or something more cutesy (red blush and red-pink eyeshadow and such) would probably still look very good on her. Do you plan on commissioning someone or doing it yourself? c:

 

@Shailara: Hea says thank you~ mm I was thinking of those colours for a faceup! I plan commissioning someone because I mostly don't trust myself in things like this. I like the smoky eye look on her too but its time for a change I think! It's also because I don't really like dressing my dolls in black clothing when they have smoky eyes. This is a weird preference orz

 

Freckles are so cute! I want to attempt them on an incoming girl too. And lol, I had an eyelash in my hand the other day too. But yeah, freckles on tan skin, I dunno. I've never seen it done before, but it might be super cute. But red and pink also sounds like a good idea. Or maybe blue eyeshadow to match that dress? Although, you might have plans to change her into something else

 

Maybe if I have time, I'll photoshop Hea and put freckles on her just to see;;
I plan to keep dressing Hea in pastel and baby colours so maybe I could try blue!

 

Oh, tan with freckles...hmm, might not look too good, but it might not be bad? You should look for a face-up artist that does good freckles and ask them? Don't always trust photoshop :P

 

Do you know any great face-up artists based in Singapore? I don't own paypal or the like so I can't pay for things overseas...
I'm reconsidering freckles now haha!

How do I get marketplace access?? Anyway, regarding the face-up artists, I've found a few based in Singapore already ^o^

 

You get marketplace access after you've made enough posts and been a member for long enough. I thought it was 40 posts and 25 days, but I might have the two mixed up

 

It's 40 posts and a month I think for limited access and 100 posts and 6 months for full access...you can look it up in the rules LOL.

I never saw myself getting any of the smaller dolls, didn't have much interest in them at first ^^; but when I saw Ice I really sort of had to have him. They do come out with some adorable minis, don't they? He'll be my first floating head and I got to pre-order him in December, so that's a nice thought, I absolutely love the white transparent skintone and can't wait for the possibilities for his character ^^

 

Can't wait to see your Ice around Niryuu ^ ^~ I really love Ice too, wish I could get him >.< But alas, I have Yuma here for now so maybe later in time =v=

Ice has a really nice face for being either male or female, I think it could work either way really nicely. What skin tone are you going for? And I'm not all that patient about waiting either ^^;

 

I got her in translucent pink and with a modified Strawberry mouse face up.

I really liked Snow but I'm not one for sleepy eyes so I knew it'd be safer for me to get Ice.

Someone else in here as Ice as a female and it's definitely believable. She's adorable as a girl.
