Thanks for the love y'all! Here's a pic of the full outfit and with a feather wig I made. Still need to make a wig that suits her in this outfit...something with that same blue color I think? I want to try making a wig with slits so the headband can sit under the wig, and the wings can poke through with the horns on top.
She's soooo cute Bunny! Sharing a quick pic of my new muscle AP girly. I got an Imomo Empty head so I can play with turning her into a cyclops blacksmith. Still deciding on eye shape, so this is in pencil for now. I'll carve and paint her up soon.
Thanks @Chameleon ! Her outfit is just pieces I had in my stash, sorry! The top is a bra from a set, and the skirt is from an old mori outfit I only have this part of.
Hi! I was thinking it might be fun to build an ap girl from parts, rather than buy a full doll. Does anyone know if there's a list of parts or a diagram maybe so I could keep track of all parts I need?
Is anywhere still even selling parts? I feel like almost everything on FaithZ is sold out and I can't remember the last time they updated with new ones, there's less than a page of results on Mandarake, Quarantotto requires a proxy, the Real Arts online shop appears dead...
And Dollyteria has parts fairly often Go by the obitsu parts? Replace everything but skeleton, hands, and feet? And here is what combo-parts each standard AP model use: And they usually state on each body part what parts are compatible.
I think Real Art Project may still be “alive”, but if you’re not in Japan, you’d need a VPN. There’s usually all sorts of body parts on yahoo auctions Japan being resold (but you’d need a proxy, of course), it just depends how much of a markup you’re willing to pay. Yumeiro already mentioned it, but there’s a lot of parts on Dollyteria right now and they ship internationally.
Recently ordered my first AP planning to make it a boy with curvy thighs, haha. I went with the H body and H2 chest, but i might maybe get some I parts in the future and mix and match. For now I hope the body arrives in my superbuy warehouse soon, but I sadly doubt that I will still get it shipped out before Chinese new year starts. Also glad to have seen here in the thread that Imomodoll cream seems to be an pretty perfect match for AP whitey, because I was thinking about one of my floating heads as most likely option there.
Finally snagged a set of Super Whitey hands on Yahoo!Japan. The AP hands are so much prettier than the standard Obitsu hands.
I'm curious, is the sculpting of the hands vastly different, or is the only difference the blushing and gloss on the nails? Also, I caved in after looking at photos of the I-type body a lot and preordered one of the Pink Drop girls directly from RAP. I want to see how I can mix and match there, and it seemed like the smarter option, compared to insane aftermarket prices or being at the mercy of irregular restocking. Additionally she has the H head which is pretty much the only mature looking AP head that I am very interested in modding and painting. I also ... snatched myself the official boy bits, so my plans are well underway.
congrats on your i type body! the hands are sculpted exactly the same, the only difference is the blushing and painting. (:
Not true! @MoiBakaDesu Angel Philia hands have unique sculpts, they are NOT the same as the option Obitsu hands. Notable differences: - Obitsu fist hands have the thumb curled inwards, like a "punch" hand, while AP has the thumb on the outside, like a girly "cute" fist - Obitsu "default" hands have much thicker fingers and no sculpted knuckles, AP are slimmer and there's a sculpted "peak" for each knuckle, the pinky is also lifted (like for high tea!) - Obitsu grasping hands are slightly looser, AP grasping hand are curled much more tightly, especially on the left hand the difference is quite noticeable I'm obsessed with hands so I'm always hyper aware of even tiny sculpt differences.
Here's a quick snap of the fist hands side by side, the sculpting differencs are quite clear! Angel Philia vs Obitsu Hands
huh maybe it's because i have the vmf50 version of sayo that her 'natural' hands are the same as default obitsu hands?
Oh, interesting, thank you for the comparison! The bodies I got come with various sets of AP hands, but I did get myself the set of Obitsu hands with the peace hands, pointing hands and stretched out palms, so I hope once I blushed and glossed these they will fit the aestethics at least decently. Because I am the same in that regard, I am a fan of nicely sculpted doll hands.
The AP hands tend to have slimmer fingers, so I personally don't mix Obitsu and AP hands on the same doll -- it's a slight difference but I'm super picky. But I do like having all the hands! I'll just switch a doll to all-Obitsu hands when I want to use the peace sign, or back to all-AP hands. So I try to always get every single hand variant for maximum versatility.
Hello everyone, I just purchased a Tan Honoka second hand and I am really confused about clothing size after doing research. I have a lot of Sd clothing but it looks like pants will only be able to fit her in Sd size? And msd size for tops and skirts? Could someone kindly direct me in the right direction -so confused
@P.Tsuki Yeah, that's about right. Obitsu 50, and Azone AZO2 is also common choices for clothes, depending on your AP body parts. So compare measurements.
Thanks very much @Yumeiro! This is super helpful! I am definitely going to take a look a Obitsu 50 and Azone AZO2 clothing.
I just wanted to share my new Type-N head I traded for at a meetup recently. I'm still working to get her a separate body so she doesn't have to share, but she's been fun to play with already. Also grabbed this cute kitty set, so of course she had to wear it!
So I've started looking at Angel Philia dolls, because I didn't even realize they could use other heads besides the base ones that are made for them. How often do these really come up for sale? I've started to peek at faithz and mandarake over the past few weeks and I'm curious to know how difficult they actually are to get (or if the second hand market is the easier place to get them)
Oh nice, yes I have the Bonelace 3D printed neck connector, which allows you to connect other BJD heads to the AP bodies. Bonelace also offers a Fairland neck connector. Here is the link to it: LINK For blank heads, Dolk's Taobao is a great resource! Here is their current shop where I searched for "angelphilia". LINK I use ParcelUp for my Taobao proxy, so that's why this link is there. You can copy the taobao link from their page, if you need to send that to your own proxy preference.
I think it depends what specifically you’re looking for. If you’re just looking for any doll/body, it should be fairly easy (there’s usually at least one preorder starting around every month or two) especially if you don’t care about head sculpt. Certain body pieces can be much harder to get (in my experience that was C2 and G busts and the I lower torso) so it just depends what you want. I’ve only bought two of my (soon to be) 8 APs secondhand— one was from DollyTeria, if you haven’t looked there yet I recommend it although they don’t always have dolls.
Thank you both for your responses! I do think I am mainly interested in getting an AP body, though there are a couple of heads they have that I do think are very cute and wouldn't mind having. I'm going to check out all the links you both provided and keep my eye out
It took quite a while, due to the Pink Drops doll I ordered being delayed over amonth from the initial release date, but my boy AP is finally real now. I really already love the feel of these dolls, feels so sturdy and nice to pose. And the soft skin is downright addicting to touch. I definitely underestimated the sheer size of the booty though, haha. The shorts on the picture look fine from the front, but ... don't cover a lot from behind. I was also quite surprised how big the color difference is between batches, because the chest I got is older than the brand new body there is quite the difference, and not only because of different blushing. It is not noticeable on pictures at least.
