I got my first AP girl a little short of a year ago and I fell in love!
my first was Kumi (pink hair) and now a second Sayo arrived just today and in a stroke of unusual luck the same day as her intended wigs


Sayo comes on a more slender body and i am in love with the contrast

I had to join this thread, I just finally got my very first AP doll yesterday!

I went with the Super Whitey Ellie Petit Renewal, and I was soooo surprised at her super soft skin, when it said soft I wasn't expecting THIS level of soft!



I only just opened her last night and her clothes haven't arrived in the mail yet, so she's in her birthday suit, not sure if that's allowed? If not I'll delete, sorry!

But I'm genuinely surprised at myself for how in love I fell with this doll! I'm so used to Dollfie Dream dolls, that's all I have is DDs and a SDGr, so when I held Ellie and checked her mobility I was IN LOVE, she's so insanely posable! At first I wasn't sure what they meant when they said "the soft skin helps with possibility" but the difference in pose ranges compared to my DDs is insane! Hands down she's quickly become the favorite to handle in the collection!

 

I've gotta ask, wheeeerreee did you buy thissss, it is PRECIOUS!

You did amazing customizing her! She is 100% grandma and looks great! I can just picture an amazing anime of super pretty girls living under the same roof trying to get along, and when they fight, grandma comes in and they all settle down

 

I have a needy question for fellow AP doll collectors! I got a very /very/ busty bust for my girly to match my character, but now im struuugling to find an outfit for her (woops)

I checked codenoir but theres no shirts big enough to fit the largest AP bust they sell, does anyone have a 'go to shop' for buying clothing for their busty ladies? (thankyou)

 

I heard that DD/SD tops made for large busts sizes work. Mine has a smaller bust, but I am hoping to get a bigger set for her soon and was wondering the same thing.

Hey everyone, sorry if I've missed a post somewhere, but simple search terms have failed me. My first AP girl has shipped (yay!) so now I'm caught in logistics of getting her set up. I know you're supposed to stuff or fill the vinyl so it doesn't deform, but what's the best filling to use? Ideally I'd like to get some soft sponge or foam to cut to shape, but in the meantime I'd like to get something just to keep her filled out. Any suggestions for a newbie?

I used cotton balls for some of my girls. I got the cotton bags from the dollar store. Then some of them have regular pillow filler. I bought a pillow from the dollar store open it and use the filler to stuffed my girls You don’t need anything fancy.

 

Here's my girl! I got her this past year and havn't had time to play with her but here is an outfit I custom made for her! Still deciding on what hair color I want for her Where does everyone get their clothes from? Finding pants and shirts are hard!

 

@taltosgirl Your doll is super cute! I like the wig in your photo! Clothes are super hard! I've found some nice things from Code Noir, but they work best on small busts. For the larger busts, I try to find short sleeve knit tops that have some stretch, and some MSD shorts and pants will work too. Shoes are hard too, but I've ordered those from Code Noir as well, and found some random 'no-name' brands that work okay.

 

Finally got the chance to take some photos with my girl Christine-- and the first time I put her in clothes I managed to stain her with a ribbon! Anybody know how to remove clothing stains without damaging blushing? It's not in a heavily blushed area but her shoulder and shoulderblades do have some blushing and it looks so nice! I certainly don't want to damage it, I feel like I've done enough already

 

omg! i did something more or less the same with my first girl (i was just not quite aware of how EASY it is to stain them TT.TT) use acne cream with benzol peroxide (he higher % the better) ! it might take a few rounds, i am not an expert on it but leaving it on for a day or two and repeat until you can't see the stain anymore and as far as i can tell it didn't affect the blushing either!

 

Ah okay! Looks like my girl's getting some unplanned skincare soon. Thanks so much!

If I figure out where to host my photos I'll be sure to share! All I could do now is toss in an Instagram link, haha. She's so perfect besides, currently, those little stains, urgh. It's good to know they can be taken care of!

 

@noblescientist Is your doll tan? If you doll is tan you might wanna avoid leaving any stain treatments on too long, as it will bleach the area. The skin might revert back though - But I am still unsure of this.
Just something to keep in mind.

 

She is not, but thanks for the warning! Good to know if I get any tan vinyl in the future.

 

Swapped her anti-stain body suit for the newer Volks MDD Mochi-Ashi & DDP Full Bodysuit Ver. 2 and it fits perfectly.

hey everyone! i'm waiting for my first angel philia girl and i'm so excited :3 i had a couple of questions, do vinyl dolls yellow? and do wigs stain the dolls? she'll be my first vinyl doll so i'm intimidated by their staining ):

 

all plastics discolour over time but, at least in my experience, definitely slower then resin. i don't have an exact time frame but prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or excessive heat would effect this
and yes they satin, and unfortunately very easily, easier then resin ;;;

thank you for the advice! i wanted to make one a goth girl but i'm terrified of ruining her so.. maybe a shiro goth inspired look will have to do.
i actually 'accidentally' got two lol sayo! and shizuku ^_^ i may or may not keep the shizuku, it depends on how i feel when she gets here.

 

very nice i think some of the girls would look great in black and some blacks won't stain but i am not brave enough xD

 

What one need to be most wary about is areas where the fabric's pressed snugly against the doll.
Volks dollfie dream body-stockings are said to work with AP dolls though, if that's an option.

BUT their bodies are really pretty, so less clothes are fine too!

 

You do still have to be careful with transfer sometimes regardless. i had a ribbon on my girl for like five seconds the first day i had her to see if something would work and stained her! Luckily the benzoyl peroxide trick worked and she's only got a teeny shadow left on one shoulder that doesn't show up in photos.

 

that's so scary hdjksh i have reworked my concept so she has a more pale aesthetic, but i might let her try on some black pieces once in awhile if i'm feeling brave.

Yeah, i was really upset when i saw it, but it looks fine now! Seriously, that acne cream treatment works wonders. I'm still gonna be making my girl a goth. Just lining everything with white and being careful with her limbs.

I finally got my first AP girl last week Currently clothes shopping for her and it's driving me nuts! I went through this thread, but I'm still going to ask for a few tips:
I've read that 1/3 bottoms fit the body, but is SD10/13 or DD better? Does it even matter? Do I have any chance of finding pants/shorts for that badonkadonk?
When it comes to skirts people say MDD size fits (although short). Which do you guys find a better fit, MDD or DD sized skirts?

i think bottoms really depend on the body type, i can say my 'slim' sayo has issues fitting msd bottoms that have snaps. i think elastic bands would work better >_<

i also was wondering if anyone knew which body type the OG sayo had? i kind of want to explore other bust options and i'm scared about fits.

 

Hello everyone!! I'm really excited to share that I just pre-ordered my first AP.
She will be my second doll in all, but does anyone have tips as far as display/posing that doesn't rely too much on stands?

 

they are quite light weight so they are (relatively) easy to pose

 

That's good to know my only doll experience is with my Azone and she has magnets in her feet!

I'm curious if anyone has had a chance to work with this body coloration from AP or anything similar?
I have a chance to get ahold of this torso but I'm a little hesitant since the untanned area is super white.

I've recently gotten my hands on some blank AP heads and noticed that the type O head comes with the tongue separate from the head.
Is anyone familiar with how the tongue is supposed to be attatched/inserted into the head? I've checked quarentotto's site and haven't been able to find any details

 

@Gutz About the torso, I'm not sure what you are asking...
As for the tongue, just push it in. It will hold in place, unless you plan to jostle the doll around.
There are two tongues, one short and one long. I've found the short one comes loose more easily/can be trickier to get to stick.

Where do people get neck mod things to put different heads/hybrid on Angelphilia bodies?

 

You technically don't need a special neck mod piece to put most other heads on. I used to have a hybrid with an SQ Labs, so I just disassembled the neck part, removed the piece I didn't need (the "clamp" bit for the vinyl head), and put it back together. I think I threw in a metal washer for some extra stability (literally from the local hardware store), but it really didn't require any special parts. Just patience and a screw driver.

 

New to AP and have a few girls now. Some have stuffing already since they were 2nd hand, but others are new. One, do you need to stuff them? Two, if so are there any tips or videos for newbies? I am nervous to take them apart .

 

Definitely recommended. They look a little strange without any stuffing support just because the vinyl is too thin to really hold shape without it, so you get weird divots and flat spots. (I actually started lightly stuffing my harder vinyl dolls that don't need it as much and they're easier to pose too!)

I'm not aware of any videos unfortunately, but i can say a tutorial is definitely helpful. A hobby friend walked me through it when i first got my girl and it was very helpful.
