Angel of Dream Waiting Room

I forgot to post here when I ordered my Meng Li on the 4th via Alice's-- I just got the shipping email this morning and oh GOSH that was fast. I should have looked here first before worrying so much if something went wrong ^^; it seems fast is just the norm for AoD. (Edit- just did the math- 16 DAYS?? I hope everything is alright!)

I'm excited to see her! I ordered her in WS with the company faceup but idk how close it will be to the design in the pics since I'm pretty sure those are a decade old at this point. Still very excited! Maybe if I'm lucky she'll show up before August.

nice! you should have it mid august if their production is anything like when i ordered my zimei!

 

I hope so!! I have never been good with wait times. I bought him some clothes too though, so that might extend the wait.

Update: he arrived yesterday! So between ordering and shipping, it took about a month in total!!!! How amazing!

 

Just wanted to update- SUPER late I know- but my Meng Li was shipped on the 20th and received on the 24th of June, arriving a total of 20 days after I ordered via Alice's Collections- AoD (and AC processing) is fast all right!!

I've had a doll profile up for a bit but it's a WIP still. Her name was going to be Bailey but now she's turned out to be Moira. Any more updates will be in the AoD discussion thread, but I wanted to let those in this thread know that she hasn't disappeared, and there wasn't any issue with her at all, other than a faceup scratch which was caused by me, opening her face mask wrong T.T but I'll call it a scar and I still love her. It makes her unique.

Holy Jesus, reading the recent posts I'm super impressed at how quick AOD are! I ordered an AOD 62 boy body v.2 here at the beginning of September, and I fully expected having to wait four or more months for it, perhaps half a year. But maybe I'll be lucky and I'll have it before Christmas?? That would be epic

 

Huh. I'm just waiting on some heel feet. Still qualifies, right?

 

In case anyone is wondering about wait times, i ordered the 62cm ver 2 boy body through Alice's on Nov 15. I got a shipping notice on Nov 30! So exactly 15 days. It hasn't moved yet but i expect to have it pretty soon. Alice did not have it in stock but i'm thinking maybe AoD themselves might just keep some ready to ship? Hm..

 

I just ordered an Angel of Dream Bo today from Alice Collections. My first BJD! Let the wait begin...

Ahh I couldn't help but order an Angel of Dream Zixi with the "Giant" Bust; might as well go all out, right?
Ordered from Alice's Collections on April 15th. If this thread is any indication, then with AoD's speedy turnaround time, Zixi might very well arrive earlier than the doll I ordered from a different company back in January haha

 

Wow talk about lightning fast! I received my Zixi yesterday on April 29th
Even if she was In Stock and not made-to-order at AoD and just needed to be shipped, that's still remarkably fast for coming from China! Super impressed wow
She's extremely well-wrapped/padded, too, and perfectly intact, so this has been a great experience! Kudos to Angel of Dream and Alice's Collection

 

Oh my, He is here! My Bo from Angel of Dream. I ordered him on March 28 and he arrived on April 27. I'm not a very good photographer but I will try to get some pics of him soon. Super happy!

 

Hello everyone! So happy to see others buying AODs and this thread still being active. I love seeing everyone so excited. Makes me even more excited!

I just ordered MSD Shang Nai in white skin about two days ago. I just love her cute little face! I’m already sooo antsy about getting her but I will be patient :-)
She will be my first BJD ever!

Apparently my Shang Nai order shipped this last Friday without me knowing! Ordered on June 3, 2022, shipped June 17, 2022.

I honestly cannot believe it. She will be my first BJD ever I ordered her through Alice's Collections. I'm a bit nervous since she is going through FedEx so we shall see how that goes.

Joining because I just impulse ordered a Tao Huandao from Alice's. Just scrolled through this thread, and the wait times seem impressively short. Hoping my impulse boy will be here soon. He'll be my 2nd 1/4, and I, perhaps foolishly, ordered him sans face-up, hoping to coax myself into doing my first one.

 

For what it's worth, dolls without faceups can be very expressive depending on the detail of the sculpt! I may be an outlier since I do not plan on getting faceups for a couple of my blank dolls, since they appeal to me more not locked into a single expression- not to mention the android/robotic nature of their characters tbh. However, I do think that learning to do faceups could be a fun activity, and sometimes you have to dare yourself to just do it regardless of nerves. There's not a lot you can do to ruin a doll as long as you use the right supplies and such.

Fingers crossed that your Tau Huandao arrives as quickly as you hope! AoD does seem to be almost ridiculously fast at making dolls, and without a dip in quality at least as far as my Meng Li is concerned.

Exactly, I knew I wouldn't jump into faceups without really making myself try. I draw and paint, and I'm okay but not the best at make-up looks (natural or costume), so I'm interested to see how that translates to doing faceups. I think it will be a fun doll related activity for me to get into since my photography sucks, haha.

I do like your thought of leaving some expressive sculpts blank so they aren't locked into one expression. Particularly for androidish characters- that would suit them so well.

I'm curious to see Tau Huandao blank and in person. I don't have a set character for him; I just hope he looks like he inhabits the same universe as my other 1/4 doll, but he'll find a character and a place in the collection regardless.

I am stunned at how fast AoD is.
I ordered a head and some optional hands (you can see them on AoD's website - $20 per pair for SD hands with Alice's Collections). I paid for the face-up for the head.

That was 3/16/2023. Today, 3/26/2023, I already received a shipping notice.

I mean - astonishing.

 

i ordered a You from alice's collections at the end of june and i've been soo impatient waiting to start getting updates on him already, i'm so excited for him !! i've been thinking about his character every day

Just popping in to say that I ordered the 60cm boy body from AC and 16 days later he's on my doorstep. I'm in shock honestly. The body is fantastic though. I wish I had more excuses to order from AoD. ♥

I got this body to hybrid with an old yellow/green Delf head, and I had to build up some hot glue to make him sit at the right height on the neck, but he looks great! Color matching will be done later...body is in WS and it's a nice creamy white.

 

@Akai Okami Ahhh. You're the lucky soul who got this boy! Congratulations! AoD's sculpting has come a long ways too. I wish you luck on the blushing; proportionately, he's looking great.

 

Posting here to share I just ordered my first AoD, a 1/4 Fei! I couldn't resist that sweet face any longer ;_;

 

Yesterday I ordered Bo, one of the 90cm boys, through Alice's Collections! He'll be my first dolly from AoD, and by far the biggest in my collection!

 

I received my shipping notice on Saturday! Even with the holidays, this is still the shortest time I've waited for a doll to ship!
