Angel of Dream Waiting Room

I ordered a Hui Xiang head through Wamami on eBay. Bit of a mixup as they didn't see my note requesting yellow skin but it was soon sorted. I also ordered a small bust piece for my girl on an AoD body. I think the new head will be sharing that one until I decide on her character. I ordered around 7th Jan and was told about 10 days for production. Can't wait. No offence to my other dolls but it'll be nice to have a smiley face around here!

 

Sorry to double post but my Hui Xiang head arrived on Friday! I was impatient so I ignored the fact the sun was going down and I need natural light to do faceups (I'm like a reverse vampire) I decided to do a quick rough and ready one. Which is awful. But we learn from our mistakes so I'll leave this here to show everyone how not to do it!

Honestly if I hadn't successfully fixed my other doll's eyebrow (before the light went!) I would be wailing over this faceup fail but it's okay, I'll do better next time. It would be hard to do worse!

 

Bad grainy photograph hides a multitude of sins! You're too kind! I think the eyeliner is a bit harsh on her - was considering giving her black hair so I thought I could get away with it. And I put a little yellow between her teeth so they weren't too white which looked okay until I saw them in daylight and she looked like she needed to do some serious flossing! She is a bit of a tricky one tho. I'm thinking about modding her a little, taking down the tip of her nose and making her eyes smaller so she fits in better with my other SDs.

I don't think I've seen any owners pics of the default faceup. It is pretty and I did consider it, but given my modding plans...!

Grr to the ransom. My body from ACBJD came via DHL and I got charged for that one. But only about £4 something. I started grumbling until I realised there was no "handling charge" of £8 - £12 then I paid up without objection!

You have more patience than me if you haven't opened your girl yet! I made myself have to rush to get to work on time as I had to open her before I went!

 

I've just ordered 2 AoD 1/4 female bodies to go with the AoD Rao and Chi heads i already have. Aswell as Lan with default makeup, if you cant tell im a bit of an AoD fan, a third of my bjds are from AoD

 

I just ordered my first ever aod doll off Alice's Collections. The You sculpt. I'm so anxious to get him!

 

I just ordered Xui Xiang in Normal Pink with the pregnant body today from Alice's. I have no idea what the wait time would be.

I ordered a boy body in pink skin via wamami on eBay on 4th September - they told me about 15-20 days for production. It's for my floating Little Rebel head - I think I need to get my orders in before Brexit drops the pound through the floor.

 

I ordered Yang in white for a mod project on 8/4 through Alice Collections. I would have posted earlier, but this thread looked basically dead. It's nice to have people to wait with.

 

Haha yes I like seeing other portio get their dolls because it hopefully means mine will be next! What's your project?

 

I’m hoping to mod her into a Prometheus style alien. I love how unusual the small bust body was, and it inspired me. It will be my most ambitious project to date, as I want to do adding and subtracting mods. So I am hoping she gets here before it gets too cold to sand in the garage.

 

That sounds cool hopefully white will be easy to work with because you won't have to worry about white marks from sanding. Although if your garage is anything like ours make sure you have something clean to put her on and still have a cloth handy because I swear just being in the garage made my doll attract greasy marks! I have the small bust AoD girl too for a hybrid - I liked her muscular stomach. However I am in the process of cinching in her waist a little - a slow going mod because I keep forgetting I'm doing it until I undress her and see her sanding scars! That's a good point about the grease in the garage. We used to have a dedicated craft table out there, but not anymore. Depending on the weather, I might work on her just outside the garage instead. I'll probably put up a project journal when she arrives, as it will keep me motivated to work on her. I am notorious for half finished projects that sit for a while.

Oooohhh ok! Just checking, I already have his new body since October. He got reshelled for a horrible Mirodoll to Angel Of Dream body. Love it very much, specially his tiny little waist. He’s on the AOD MSD 1/4 46cm white skin male body.

Yeah I don’t recommend Mirodoll, their bodies are hard to hard work with and they don’t listen to your requests on your order.

Angel Of Dream actually listened to me and actually responded when I asked for my doll’s body to be strung tightly. Mirodoll didn’t listen to me and my SD13 boy came to me loose like a puppet. I was a newbie at the time and had no idea how to fix it.

If I had known those Mirodoll bodies were going to be a lot of work and no fun I would’ve saved for a different company.

 

Shame about Mirodoll I kinda like some of their body sculpts (tough I have never had a body from them). Well, my collection is complete anyway :P
Also when I was watching the body you got for your boy, I was amazed because the prices of AoD are very good.
Would be nice to see your boy when his head arrives.

 

Many doll companies will string your dolls loosely to avoid damage during shipping. Hope that makes sense

 

I asked them to tighten it up for me because it was my first Sd13 doll. This doll has been restrung 4 times and it still pinches me, pops out of place, floppy as hell, only to find out Mirodoll requires lot of maintenance. Reasons I want it gone. I want to play with my dolls not constantly have to fix it everyday versus actually playing with it. And the posing sucks as well, I get pinched in the process all the time. It hurts and it’s annoying to own, I already decided to reshell my doll’s body into the Angel Of Dream 62cm body.

 

Bumping this place because I've ordered an AoD Zimei through Alice Collection. It'll be my very first SD so I'm pretty excited for that!
No idea how long the wait will be, but I've been waiting for a head from Dollzone for over a year now, so I know I can be patient orz

oooh! Glad to see I'm not the only one to like her! She is VERY pretty, isn't she??

 

@Tagath She really is! I think she's one of their prettiest sculpts. She's a bit unique from the others with her more pointed chin and lower lips. I ordered mine with the giant bust option.

 

I hesitated a lot for the bust, but in the end I went for 'just' the large one (though I was very tempted by the giant option too XD). I love that there's those options though, especially for a 'cheap' company.

 

@Tagath Yeah I was actually very impressed with their options. I've never owned an AoD before but I've seen a few in person. When I ordered her I was really just browsing for clothes I didn't actually intend on ordering a whole doll but my hand slipped...^_^;

 

My Fei is finally in the post! Now to constantly refresh the tracking page O_O I can't wait and didn't expect her so soon! (I also ordered through Alice's Collections, and they were super nice)

Sadly, the dress I ordered for her doesn't quite fit, and that's a bummer... but still I love her and I don't mind sewing for her
Also, after a number of orders from very slow companies, I have to say it's so pleasant to get a doll in only two months

 

Ah, my Fei arrived! But for the first time, the random eye lottery has not fallen in my favour XD (usually I get something close enough to the character, but not this time. It's okay though - I have ordered some more and will probably sell her old eyes). So, no doll pics until she has eyes! And clothes. O_O

I am super into the wig I bought for her though. It's black-purple and short :3

My Zimei is on her way home! She's already past customs and should be here Monday, along with a bunch of clothing I ordered for another doll. I'm so excited!

 

I ordered the 90cm Huan on August 13th. I’m so excited and nervous to have a doll that big.

 

So, this has to be my fastest non instock doll order. I ordered a 62cm AoD body in white resin from a Chinese dealer on taobao on 9/10/20, and on 9/21/20 I got shipping notice. The body has now arrived at my forwarding service, so I'm just waiting for them to send me a shipping quote.

 

I ordered today a Shang Nai and a Chune Zhe I am soooo excited. It was super strange to klick the confirm button I`m always anxious when it comes to this amount of money.

 

Well, I'm back again. This time waiting on a Qian (female) I recently ordered.

 

Wuhuu my dolls were shipped got today a sms from FedEx. They were faster than alice XD

@TokyoLynn I waited for my Mo Lan 6 months but that was years ago so this is the first time I had such a short waiting time. XD

 

@Brezel My Zimei only took about 3 months. That was last July I believe.

 

@TokyoLynn okay thats normal I would say. ^^ I ordered my Mo Lan in 2013 so it's some days ago. XD I hope I will get the tracking number soon want to stalk the tracking.

Now I have to wait that the weather is dry enough to make her a Face up the Chune Zhe is allready by my best friend. ^^

I just ordered my first bjd (zimei) a few days ago from AOD via Alice's. Can anyone tell me how fast TAT is on them? Partner and I are moving states in 2.5 months and while shes shipping to my parents, which is where we lived during the pandemic, id like to have her before our trip down.

I woke up to a shiny new shipping notice from Alice's Collections myself. Seems my AoD Qian (girl) has already shipped which is amazing considering I literally just ordered her last month! I'm honestly baffled right now, I've never had a doll ship out this fast unless it was an instock doll from a dealer.

@FenTreefern If my order is any indication of their production times (and not a mistake) then hopefully you should be hearing something sooner than later.

My Qian is finally on the move! Er...sort of. She's been stuck in transition to FedEx from Alice's Collections sine the 12th. Apparently FedEx had a huge shipment back up and it took a hot minute to get it sorted. Unfortunately my package missed todays flight out of China so it looks like I've got a little longer to wait.
