Angel of Dream - 90cm - Ni, Bo & Primo

Thank heaven they finally have different face molds ! I'm seriously eye-ing off a 90cm AOD now because of the new head version.

 

The new body is really nice too.

I can't believe it ... I ordered my new Mo from Alice's Collections on 11 June, and just 5 WEEKS later he is here in AUSTRALIA - WITH a factory face up !
To say I am impressed is an understatement !
I have never gotten a BJD this fast. Now I need to rush and get clothes / hair for him !!! -Exciting !

I've long been an admirer of AOD's 90cm boys. Such BIG boys!

I always wanted a Yue. Dang! Looks like I waited too long, and now the sculpt is gone.

The new sculpts are nice, but I wish they would show them with face-ups. I have a hard time visualizing what the faces looks like without a face-up.

I actually offered Alice Collections that they could use my pictures of the two new heads I have with their faceups on the site just to show how they could look but they politely declined though they said they might share them if someone asks. It might be because the faceups I have on mine are not a standard company faceup and perhaps they think it might make people think those are the default faceups.

 

Raewhitewolf, you are probably right about the face-ups. Additionally, for the purpose of selling and representation of a company's product, there may be a legal issue that prevents AC from posting photos for dolls that are not officially the company's.

But, I do love the face-ups you gave your boys! You do lovely work. (Head #3 is totally swoon-worthy! )

 

Oh I did not paint them, I cannot take credit for that. Macaron Doll either painted them or had AOD paint them for me as a gift. It was very nice of them to make me 2 custom faceups as a gift.

 

So I'm really slow and just realized that AOD reworked the big boys. None of the old heads spoke to me, but now I find them handsome and may have to get one. Then again, I've been drooling over a Lusion and Othohime for a while and haven't taken the plunge yet so it may take me a while.

 

The new big boys are wonderful!
I got mine in July. His resin is smooth. His faceup is lovely and soft. And I love that I could get a bunch of baby clothes/shoes for him!
They are such a good deal for the amount of doll you get.
They even sent me a second pair of eyes (in addition to the random pair he came with), a pair of black dress shoes and a wig.

 

They really are such a good deal my boy is really not much smaller than my trinities and less than a quarter of the price!

 

Where did you order from?

 

I bought my one through Macaron Doll the Malaysian dealer but you can get them through Alice Collections now. They only have blank pictures of the new heads at the top of the listings though as there are no faceupped pictures of all the new sculpts.

I just bought the old boy Bo, second hand. Waiting for him to come home. I never thought I would like a bjd that size. But I really look forward to sew to him and make him a wig and eyes. Have a lot of idea's. He looks like a boy now, but I want him to grow a bit older.

I love these big dolls. I hope to get one soon. Shoes and clothes might be hard to find but I think I can make him some outfits.

 

They can wear baby clothes but if you want a dress suit it might be a challenge.

 

I would love to have jointed hands to my Bo.
Someone herr is working in 3d and can make?
Maby from this free 3d pattern? 1/2 size must be nearly perfect?
Some changes in the wrist is necessary too.

No lusion and trinity heads don't work on this body.

Reviving this discussion to hopefully find more info on one of the AoD 90cm boys. I'm in love with Cypress from their website but can't seem to find him anywhere else nor any blank photos. Alice's Collection doesn't have him listed and the AoD Weibo hasn't been posted to since 2021. Anyone know where blank pics might be found?

 

I'm pretty sure that's the Bo sculpt, the philtrum (area above the cupid's bow on the upper lip) is the same, the eyes are slightly downturned at the outer corner just the same, and the nose looks the same. I also took the name from the AOD site "柏" and popped it into Google translate and listened to the Chinese pronunciation, and it sounds like Bo. I don't know why AC hasn't been able to update those listings with AOD's new pictures, it's very confusing.

 

Oh wow that makes a lot of sense! It's funny because Bo was my leading contender for if I ever got one of these big guys, and seeing him in these new photos means he must be mine some day.

Anyway, it's been a while since you posted, but I recently realized the AOD 90cm boys actually had different face sculpts than their styled pictures and I'm pretty sure your number 3 head is the new Du, but I wanted to ask if you think so, too?

How do they fit together?
I want to give my Angel of Dreams Bo 1/2 a girlfriend and have looked at 1/2 Spiritdoll Dolce.
She have the same size of her head as Bo and eyes 21/20. And the hips are also the same size. Feets are one cm smaller. His arms are 2 cm longer.
But she is 75cm and he is 90cm. 15 cm differens.
Can someome with this two bjds, show a comparition together photo?

 

This head for example, have a more mature head and a little bigger nose from their other heads.

 

Yes I think you are absolutely right and the number 3 head is the new Du head.....back when I ordered my boy they still hadn't decided on names for the new head sculpts.

The closest I have is a Soom Shoshon and they look fairly similar neck wise. I recently got Bo. And like I said the neck looks very similar in size. However the heads are drastically different in size. If you want a pic I can provide

 

That would be great! I have a feeling it will look too small but it will still give me an idea of roughly what size would look good. The aod heads are cute but I would like more realistic proportions.

My husband surprised me with some dolly funds for my birthday, so I just ordered Bo through Alice's Collections! I'm so excited, I've wanted one of these big boys since I saw one at an anime convention in 2012!
