Angel of Dream - 90cm - Ni, Bo & Primo

lol sounds like me! i decided to start to sew again so i got a brand new machine and everything but its not been used that much at all, i just dont get the time even though i do enjoy but the way i see it is its there when i do which will most likely be in years to come!

i got a couple of kids chairs and they work pretty well, 1 is a little bit too big but a cushion behind them sorted that. thats the downfall of the 90cm boys, having the room. as pretty much all much other hundreds of dolls i had are now in new homes i have some space! so i decided the big boys could fill some of it for me!

Hello everyone! I am wondering if anyone would spare a lovely photo of their giant boys in the nude. I haven't been able to find the body just nude you know because i was trying to see exactly the body shape it has. All the pictures AoD has are clothed (which is quite dumb really XD)

hello Elve Thank you for the photos. Is he a 2 piece torso or a 3 piece torso? I been eyeing the 90cm boys because for one they are cheap and two the size XD Plus like usual I have a project possibly with the doll but I haven't decided yet and I'm still looking for more options. So far they are a nice doll and they do fit into the project needs. I hope to find one on the 2nd hand market but they pretty much never appear as not many people even have these boys.

 

I have always been really fascinated with these big guys.
And I'm in awe of the comparison between the SD girl AoD body and the big guys! They're just huge, it makes me want one even more. >3< I just know clothing them must be difficult though. Especially shoes.

Not too bad! Childrens shoes fit and baby clothes can be altered to fit! Emmet is wearing an infant jacket and Converse!

That's great for me, I do the mark downs in the dept. store I work in and I'm always eying the kids' section because they go down so low. :U I recommend you check Macy's clearance rack for some cute mature looking boy clothes. XD

Your boy is Hale, isn't he? I might be leaning towards him or Primo. I like his features.

Fush he is a 3-piece torso - but the elastic is strung double throughout, making him very tightly strung - simply because he's so incredibly heavy he won't stand if he's too loosely strung! So the torso joints work, but they can be a liability as I discovered when my boy 'pinged' back straight upright, after I'd sat him in a slump - he smashed a piece out of the back of his head in the process as he hit my iron bedstead! I sat him on a beanbag or soft chair after that LOL - Eventually I restrung him, but I was a total amateur at the time (no strength!) Really that is a 2-person job unless you are very strong or have the right tools. Plus I forgot the elastic was strung double, so he was too loosely strung after that! He posed much better for it, but couldn't stand. Don't let that put you off though - he was great fun to have around the place I only sold him as I'd decided to collect tinies LOLLLLL - yes that worked out according to plan

 

Elve: Oh thats really interesting for the stringing. He may just need thicker string instead of double (double is kind of crazy really) Lol the project is going to need him to stand one way or another so that will be fun lol XD Tinies are nice but they end up too small in general for me XD It seems I started with MSDs and now I'm graduating to bigger then 1/3 XD Its funny how that works.

Fush - elve photo is a great example of the body, it is a 3 piece torso but ive not had any issue with it. i did re-string bo (as i purchased bo from elve) i used extra strong tension elastic so he does stand on his own well now but i would not recommend leaving these big boys standing alone as elve is right they love to ping and fall over at the most unexpected times. i found sitting them is the best and ive had no trouble with them. you will find they very rarely come up for sale in the secondary market as i was so lucky that elve sold me bo, but saying that you may be lucky one day.

elve - your photo really shows a great comparison of the sizes, i have a dollmore model female and these guys even make her look really short! and she is really quite tall for an sd.

Genevieve - i dont think its been said any where on this thread but sadly aod updated their 90cm range of boys, when they did they stopped selling some of their sculpts. Im sorry hale was one of the ones they did away with.

the original release was ni, primo and bo, they then added hale. after the update of range they stopped ni, primo and hale but kept bo.

that's odd ragdollkitty because happyhouse4u dealers still list ni, primo and hale maybe their website is not updated? Or maybe they have their own stock - hmmm very strange because alices collections do not list those 3 (although I did think that huan was the same as hale, until I took a closer look)

I think they share some of the same charms though! I suppose if you can't find a Hale, Huan is a good substitute. :3

 

Ragdollkitty: Oh those comparisons are really good o.o Someone really should get all the giants together into a picture like the Lusions, Trinities from Dollmore, the 90cm boys from Leeel, uh Lumedoll giant, and I know theres one other girl who is fairly big too shes called Alice or something from a different company along with AoD 90cm doll. I truthfully hope to do such a comparison one day.

Aernath: Oh that picture helps to see the difference. Thank you! You don't have a AoD 90cm boy yet but you will get one. I think they have a lot of possibility and they are seriously cheap for the size. Half the amount even.

 

I guess someone needs to email happyhouse4u and ask if they are still selling Primo, Ni and Hale - it would be great to have even more sculpts to choose from if they are....I've just remembered the other 2 dealers (well one is AoD company but I don't know which one) - aoddoll.net and aoddoll.com - Now they are both still selling Ni, but he's called Mi....curiouser and curiouser

 

i didnt know that happyhouse still had the older sculpts listed, when i was looking at buying i went to aod direct website and alice collections webpage so i didnt vist happyhouse!

ive ordered paio so when he arrives i will share photos. i picked paio as i felt he was near to the primo sculpt just the jaw line is more rounded?

 

I just put in a first payment on a Bo secondhand! I already have 2 half scale dolls (Dollmore Lusion and Trinity) and I absolutely love them so I'm sure I'll love this big guy too! My main debate is what general style to go for. I have a 65cm gothic boy and a 55cm punk rocker boy, so I need to do something different. Torn between traditional Japanese clothing and suits. I could do both I suppose, and it would be fairly easy to make a kimono in his size based on measurements alone to try when he arrives. I was able to do a fairly short layaway too, so I'll have him by early December at the latest. So unbelievably excited!

I came up with an even better idea over the weekend. I do cosplay props and a few years ago I help someone build human-scale 15 foot wingspan black angle wings for a DN Angel cosplay. Thinking of making a scaled down set, maybe 4 or 5 feet wingspan, for this guy and pairing it with a really nice black and purple pinstripe suit set.

I love the AOD 90CM men. I would love to get one of each sculpt which is weird for me because I have never been into guy dolls with the exception of Ringdoll's Lucifer who I will get in the future. I just emailed Happyhouse to see if Primo and Hale are in stock since they are both listed but neither is available on AOD'S English or Chinese websites. I would like to get those 2 first since they are not being made anymore.I have a Dolkot Model girl, Belinda, coming to me in a couple of weeks and she is 68 cm tall so a 90 cm boy would be great as her boyfriend. I know that will be a big difference but I myself am a little under 4 feet 10 inches and I have dated guys 6 foot 4 inches tall and taller.

 

They are sweet guys, nice price too. But have you seen Leeel's 90cm guys? Whoot! Do wish more companies were making the larger guys and gals.

 

Yes I have seen Leeel's 90cm guys. They are very nice also but sadly a lot more money! I do wish more companies were making larger guys and girls. The Leeel's boys are handsome but seems to me their heads are a little small. I saw a photo on flickr where someone had a Leeel boy and a Lumedoll Usil. Usil is 85cm tall and they switched the heads and put Leeel boy on Usil's body and vice versa. The Leeel boy head is small compared to Usil. Checkout the photo below.

My 17 year old daughter really loves the AOD boys too, especially Yue. I guess I am going to have to get him for her for Christmas.

I wish AOD would come out with some big girls to go with the boys. I saw the Leeel girl and I like her but the faceup they gave her made her look like she is crying. If I got her I would want a really dramatic and glamourous faceup. I like really long and full eyelashes and red shiny lips and some black eyeliner.

That just isn't right. Lookit a shrunken head! She's going to love Yue, I have him and he's even better in person. My only dislike is his faceup isn't what they showed on the site. They did a goth boy look on him with heavy eyeliner and gray-black lips. Nope, didn't ask for it either, just how he arrived.Problem is I can't get his head off to get it redone and he's already smacked me in the face for trying. Boy is strung tighter than a hunters bow.

 

Madera, I would love to see your Yue!!! Can you pretty please post some photos? They do a goth faceups? Great my daughter is a goth so she wants him in white skin and she will love the fact that he has a goth faceup!!! I was going to ask for goth but since they do it like that anyway then I don't have to specifically ask for it. Did you get Yue directly from AOD or from a dealer or from the MP or ebay?

So they string them really tight? oh boy! Some of my SD girls could be strung better but I don't dare take them apart because I have no idea how to restring them. If I don't dare restring my SD girls there is no way I would even think of trying on a 90cm!!! Was he able to stand when you received him, Madera? As long as he can sit and stand I am sure my daughter, Brandy, will be happy.

He sits, he stands, and my guy has his own chair (a real kids mini recliner) otherwise he'll take over the sofa. Clothes can be a problem but some baby and toddler shirt fit. And I would ask for the goth look, if ya don't you might end up with the sweet and happy face up that I thought I was going to get.

I think you'll like the price too. I have Yue and I adore him (my first 90cm). I don't have any problems posing him, do have to carry him around like a toddler.

yes I had a look at happyhouse4you last month and wondered if they'd gone bust too - I got my first doll from there so it will be sad if they have - Never mind the fact that their AoD 90cm boys are a whopping $200 cheaper than Alices! Although I think postage is dearer from them - Alices are very reasonable on postage and of course free if you order $100 of accessories ^_^

I totally regret selling my 90cm Bo to ragdollkitty a couple of years ago though - Just because I didn't know how to remove his faceup or restring him - I was such a noob

With Alice's Collection, while it doesn't state layaways on the site, you can get one with them if you email them first. I asked them directly and they were very nice! I was going to buy a 90cm boy from them earlier this year but I got mine through a trade instead. yay me! but YES, HappyHouse was soooooo inexpensive for the big guys! I'll be sad if they went out of business too; they were very nice. Another store I knew carried them (and I bought a commissioned dress from) went belly-up too though the legend doll site almost looks like it could be her. That's a pretty darn cool store, I suggest people browse though it!

At least we have a couple of options left for AoDs. They have such solid bodies and great posing! And cute sculpts! There are a few I need to get myself!

with my 90cm guy I knew nothing (he was my 2nd bjd, bought when I still hadn't even dared take the headcap off my Qian!) and I blithely thought I could restring him He lay in a box in bits for a while, then I managed a loose stringing, which nearly killed me LOL - weakling! Seriously you need some strength or some help to string one of these big guys though

I agree! I had to use my teeth on part (and I don't recommend it!) cuz they are HARD to string and restring! Warning to anyone squeamish out there too... the AoD 1/3 boys are more life size in their resin boy bits too. Like the size of a newborn. Kind of shocking!

 

Congrats, I have considered getting one but carrying around my 70cm twins is hard enough. I'll just enjoy everyone's big boys.

 

They are a bit heavy to haul around! Love my boy to bits though.

 

ROFL - a lot bigger than that chalyss! I didn't dare take his underpants off for months - although the underwear was sufficiently see through that when I showed him to my teenage son, he look aghast and just said 'WHY??'
Bo was the first male bjd I bought, and it was a bit too realistic! The best thing about that is no other boy doll can possible shock me now ^_^

 

I think I'd get a baby buggy next time Molliebean! The hardest thing I found, being only 5 foot tall myself, was posing him, because his leg joints were so snappy they could take your finger off - and I could only use one hand to pose him, whilst holding his entire weight on my other arm

worst of it was I'd only had him a few hours and, not being used to bjd at all (only had my Qian then) I didn't realise they could suddenly 'snap' backwards from a slumping pose - Well Bo did just that! Knocked a big chunk out of his headcap on my cast iron bedstead

So yes they aren't easy to handle! I still want another one though

Happy House seems to be defunct. You can get Hale from Alice's Collection or on ebay from... Jerryama, I think. Both are excellent dealers and stores!

ELVE, HAH!!! My brother in law, who hates my dolls, said the same thing! It's a shocker, that's for sure! They need nice, roomy pants for their... bits. Can you imagine an AoD 90cm with an adjustable bit?? On Magnets??! Literally, you could poke an eye out!

 

Jeeryama doesn't sell AoD dolls. Dollonline2009 sells the 1/3 on down. Other than Alice Collections I can't find another dealer for the 1/2 guys, and Hale isn't included, I'm sorry to say.
