Yeah, making a wig for Winni seems to be a good idea .
I will only buy one wig and if it doesn't work I try something in my own ,too

 

Yes company face up she has yellowed very nicely all I did was remove the eyelashes because I felt like they made her look like she was buzzing lol but she is definitely a witch and she plays it so well I have difficult time changing her out of the black outfit and hat nothing else seems to suit her

 

Oh no...why did I never think of looking here to make the waiting pass?

I just hit the 2 month mark while waiting for my Xu. ;___; I'm literally checking my email every hour because I want him heeeeeere.

 

Sounds like a great plan and that wig spuds adorable. I hope it turns out the way you vision it.

I agree, I like her mellow coloring and I think only two of my dolls have lashes lol I like them without. She does look amazing in that hat, I can see why it's hard to vision a different outfit lol

Oh!! Another Xu, I'm getting him too, and I feel ya!! I'll be at 3 months Sept 6. I need my boy and girl to come already lol they are going to be Hades and Persephone

 

I love those two in practically anything that comes up with'em (like Lore Olympus).

At this point I've actually run out of things I can do/get to prepare for my guy. Tattoos are all picked out. Eyes and wig are waiting in their boxes. Clothes are either here or are coming in with him too. And a very anxious dollie girlfriend waiting not so patiently for him to join her. Like, she'd actually gone back to her owner for a few months until the 60days came up...and now she's just sitting behind me staring like 'where is he'.

 

Spoiler: Two Plush Doll Outfits.

She's leggy. You can see at the back of the skirt that it does up properly, there's just a little tugging to get the skirt over her butt and it probably would've helped if she wasn't wearing undies.

The shoes I've gotten from Aliexpress fit well. The cheap sparkly ones are a little loose, but that's due to the fabric being flimsy. The fake Hello Kitty and strappy platforms fit perfectly fine. It's the same shoes that my DoD DoC wears.

 

Yep, I'm in my 2 month mark too, and emailed Alice,....so Bad news, I have to wait till November she said....so sad

 

Their my Favorite too, that's why I knew I always wanted to make them into doll form. But mine is going to be a little different It's modern days time and The Gods and Goddess are replaced after a few millenniums. The new Hades, the birth name is really Hosta, but must take on the name "Hades" and "Persephone" his name is James and he's actually a mortal who does not believe he's about to be kidnap by this "Little pastel Goth" girl. I was originally going to do the normal story of the two but then these two dollies kept telling me and now I want to write a story lol!

Ooooh so you're boy has a lady love waiting for him? What type of tattoos? I'm a huge fan of tattoos but scared to get any in real life lol. How do you attach them onto the doll too? sorry so many questions

Aw! I forgot to mention it to your other post, I totally remember Groovy dolls, and I have a few of their clothing too. Those were the go to clothing when I first started in the hobby and didn't want the Gothic style with boots.

@Ballet I'm going to be using transfer paper to print out tattoos to the correct size and move them onto a sealed layer when I blush him.

:3 my Dice is a bit of a badass. He's an assassin/hitman that met his girlfriend/wife while he was employed. When that went sideways (the job) they fled and ended up making a life elsewhere safe...and he ended up dying of poisoning. My 'god of death' character ended up "bringing him back" (think...undead just...not dead or zombie...just...not alive...it's complicated) to work for him as a reaper of sorts.

Soooo...he has 4 tattoos at the moment. A skull mouth on his hand and a 'love thy neighbor' (there be blood and weapons on it for irony), an obligatory dice tattoo that his way too childish wife chose....and a nice sleeve tattoo of a bio-tech dragon. There's a fifth tattoo that he got as a sign of his contract to Death. It's a flaming skull tattoo that I'm going to be adding a green metallic sheen to so it looks like moving flames. Or try to. lol

That sounds so cool! Sorry for the late response, but wow! Can't wait to see them together. Do you plan on doing Photo-stories or are they more visual aids for your story?

And how is everyone else doing? I don't want this thread to get too quite lol! Does anyone have IG that they post more of their dolls, or planning to post their AF dolls?

 

Hi, yes! I actually just posted pictures of my first faceup on my AF girl, my UN is witchbolted on instagram

 

I've made an IG, but I don't use it. I'm not much of a social media person. Right now I've just been busy working and distracted by the SoulDoll discontinuations. The three heads I want are on layaway now, so I can put that aside, as well as an Alice's summer sale. Done and done.

Anywho, there are regrets now for not ordering two Gillian's. I tried some Hujoo animal parts on her and it's like... So cute.

As you can see, the Hujoo parts are paper white while Gillian is a creamy white. I first thought they sent me a normal yellow skin by mistake, but that colour is much darker.

I'm half tempted to try Gillian's head on my Angelheim's body to see how she'd look as a satyr. (The fantasy parts would never fit on the AF default body. Angelheim boys are chunky)

 

Honestly, I'm feeling pretty antsy. I'm right at 80 days of waiting. I didn't have to wait this long for my Resinsoul and my Ringdoll was second hand so there was no waiting at all. I don't know how people can do this for every doll. Also, when I do get my Gillian, I don't have an IG, but I plan on posting lots of pics to my tumblr.

Also, @Bristol She's so cute with the animal parts!!!

 

@Ballet I don't know about photo stories. Knowing his wife's owner, there's a possibility it might happen. They aren't really even for our current rp going on with them. For laughs, we decided since she had already gotten a Volks MSD girl, that we'd just have them be teen(ish) versions of themselves.

And still antsy about how long it's taking. 60 business days will be on monday. I don't know what to do with myself D:

 

Since i know ,I have to wait another 2-3 month till my eli arrives, I decided to look for a cheap second hand doll ,so i have something to kill the time.
I got really really lucky und got a cheap aileen doll camellia,blank.
So i can sew,and make a wig for her und finaly start my first face up.
Next weekend is my toddler free Time,then I can start

@Bristol yes, while I have a blank doll coming also now that I have touched a bjd irl I’m a lot more intimidated about faceup, modding, all the crazy ideas I was getting like crafting my own haha so I’m happy I got my very first with a company face up to get comfy with dolls

well i've come to realise now that the body is nothing like Alice collections was advertising as their 1/4 girl body. if the had 2 different types for this size it was not indicated or advertised anywhere on their site or given as an option with the fullset. annoying af.. could not figure out why the posing was so limited compared to how they make it look.
I don;t have the same hip joints or knees as others posted in this thread either o_o; if you bought from AC.. please explain T-T

 

Can you post a picture? Email Alice's and ask why the doll doesn't have the double jointed body. They're great at answering questions and sometimes even get back to me in minutes after sending a message.

 

thank u for reply and help, I was actually able to find a correct pic of how it is and a comparison:

since it is labelled some places as 'older' body, not shown as available on the dealer site and these are made to order dolls, its something I would have thought would be 'discontinued' However if I was supposed to specify ordering a 'new style' that makes the most sense. Just very sure I never saw the option.
More than likely nothing can be done as the company is closed, if anything I do like it a little better aesthetically..
the posing problems could be my inexperience.. it seems there is ways to 'lock' joint poses it just seems very kicky and difficult to me.
but learning to suede was bound to be part of the adventure

Yeah, that definitely is the older body. Alice's only had the double jointed one on their site, so it's weird that this happened. The company is still making dolls to fill the orders, so I don't see why they couldn't correct this, but if you're happy with it then that's great. It depends on what you want out of your doll.

 

It's been a while!! I've actually looked every time a new post was made, but I really don't like replying by phone when there is multiply responses and super adorbs photos attached. I finally got on my laptop lol

Hmmmm a little upset lol. So after sending my message here yesterday I decided to email Alice. The response I got was, "it was already sent out, you should check your spam folder it wasn't able to send because of the zip code" so my dolls have been here since the 26 -.- not happy. I told Alice that they never sent me an email to begin with. Not cool.

I'm so thrilled. I'd contacted Alice's Collection and was told after ordering him back in June that he's set to be shipped to them in the next order mid this month.

Omg, I can't wait to get my Dice (Xu sculpt) and paint him up. all the tattoos.

I'm so mad I could cry I haven't gotten them, and no updates on the tracker so o went to the USPS and they told me," oh no we don't hold packages and since it's been delivered on the 26 with the wrong address we sent it back" so I just sent an email to Alice. I'm so sad! All because they didn't send me any freaking email with the tracking!

I just got a shipping conformation and tracking number for my Gillian! I'm so excited!!

 

It's the worst, and it's still not found. I'm getting really mad, the only response from Alice is "it's okay, it's rare a post goes missing. It'll be found" I'm all about the sliver lining but I just want to make sure their okay.

Thank you so much! Well it turns out, I was right to follow my gut! Today I went back to the post office and spoke to someone different and they went to the back and my box was there! For 12 days I was so worried and they were so close.

So I did a box opening video and am very happy to have them home. Though everything I bought my boy is wrong now the eyes were too small, and the wig doesn't look as good on him as I hope. Plus when I bought his clothes I was going for Li Syaoran from Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle, which fit perfectly for that, but now His name is James and he is the chosen "Persephone" while my Sakura, is now the new Hades. I'm just happy their hoooooome

Did you get the girls old body or the new body? I've been thinking of getting my Winni a ResinSoul body as I feel it works better in scale with how tiny her head is. We'll see.

Is anyone else having trouble sitting their dolls down with knees bent? Lol Hades can't sit with her knees bent and I thought it was the stringing so I restrung but nothing! I think the hole in her knees are too small for the string but she needs the msd string because 2mm is too thin

 

Winni tends to splay at the knees when sitting in a chair, but most of my dolls just sit on shelves without bent knees. I haven't had much of a problem with it though.

 

My Gillian arrived! I'm absolutely in love with her! I wasn't expecting her to come with eyes or clothes, but I got some nice purple glass eyes, a cute little pink underwear set, and a cute pink dress. Also, I need to get her a wig just for her, but the extra wig I had just laying around fits her very nicely.

Also, I know comparison pictures have already been posted for AF and Resinsoul, but I had to do it myself. I wasn't actually expecting her to be so much bigger.

 

Congratulations!!! She so cute! And I'm so jelly she can sit but really what a cute face! That wig looks great on her!

Edit: just notice could you take a photo of her elbow and knees bent? Mine are just plain peanut joint they have no groove like yours

Thank you so much! Yeah I definitely got the older body. I went ahead and emailed Alice's collections because I'm pretty sure, I'm almost 100% sure, that in their photos for Alice she had the new body so I'm going to see if I can get that new body

 

Finally got my Dice in! He's a Xu model and wow his eyes threw me for a loop. Couldn't find sizes anywhere and got what should be normal for his size...to have missed it by 6mm! Had to make him some small iris 18mm ones. The head shape was also a bit weird, but when I'm done he should be good Can't wait to get his progress pictures and profile up.

His girlfriend/wife Kage is a little Volks girl and belongs to a friend.

 

So glad others are getting their dolls. I'm still waiting on two and a body for Gillian.

@Ballet It's so weird that people are getting different versions of the MSD bodies. I'll have to see what arrives.
