Angel Fantasy Mini discussion part 1

@kumagoro4ever Dayum, your Gillian idea sounds terrifying. I just wanted her because she's cute (or a Lena). Sadly I missed the ordering window so I'll be getting a YoSD secondhand.

 

I ordered a Winni from Alice's originally, and just before the cut off date I splurged and put Eli, Amy and Gillian on layaway.

Gillian I thought would make a great Cheshire Cat, but I have too many cat girls. (if there can be such a thing!)

She might end up being a bunny instead. Possibly with Hujoo bunny parts.

 

@A Wee Tiefling I know, right? I think its gonna be awesome. haha

The AF YoSDs are so cute! If I didn't get enough for mine, I would have got a smaller one just to get at least one doll from this company. I'm just sad that I didn't even know about AF until they were already closing.

@Bristol A bunny Gillian sounds absolutely adorable. Another animal that comes to mind when I see her is a fox. With her eyes, she could easily be turned into one.

 

Those sound like great ideas! And the yosd are so cute! It's true that it's a shame there isn't so much information on them. I orginally wanted to make mine into the characters of Tsubasa Chroncles of Sakura and Li. Yet, I feel like their changing that lol and their not even here

Not really,i have to see and touch her.but i Love skyrim and elder scrolls online ,and she looks like a woodland elf or high elf for me ,perhaps i lean my Story on they history.....

I eMailed Alice's Collections about an hour ago and they already got back to me. My Winni will be on the way next week.

@Janinam Eli was too cute to pass up. No plans for her as of yet, but she really reminds me of Patty from Breath of Fire 2.

@Ballet I ordered at the end of May and I have my tracking number now. They must've just sent out a bunch at a time since other people are saying they got #'s today, too. (For other company orders)

Did your dolls arrive you ?

 

Nope. The last tracking update said that she's left the facility and that was on the 22nd. I figure she'll be in next week unless she gets held in customs. (The rest of the dolls I ordered won't be ready for a while)

Does anyone have any comparison requests? I can compare her to some of my other mature mini's.

 

Hehe no, i don't need pics for comparison, i only have a pukipuki and know she can live in a msd shoe

 

That's so exciting though @Bristol and yes please! Just to see how they look against different msds knowing their going to have longer limbs lol

 

I can't wait to see everyone's dolls start coming in! I'm getting antsy waiting for mine. I'm on day 44 of my wait, though, so I'm getting close.

 

@Bristol , make sure to post pics of Winni! I am waiting for one as well, can't wait, she'll be my first fantasy doll ^^

 

They do look to have noodly arms. I was mostly looking at how odd the chest was and how she had slender hips. With the way they are, I wouldn't be surprised if it would be an easy mod to make one a boy.

@Homucchi, congrats! Most of my mini's are fantasy, so she'll be in a nice lineup when she arrives. The waiting is the hardest part.

Mentioning shipping, I'm kind of nervous. I was checking to see how long the EMS shipping would be and there are forums saying that it's slow atm. Someone even posted a thread about it. I'm used to ePackets taking at least 3 months, but not dolls.

 

3 month ? OMG, than you can better pick up your parcel by yourself .....on foot

 

Hopefully it won't take that long, I can understand a few weeks but not 3 months for shipping

 

I just finish paying off my layaway and now I wait lol. How is everyone else doing?

 

Still got 5-15 days left ,i hope the time Alice told me is realistic.can't wait to have her here

A few more days, and I'll be at the 2 month mark of my own wait. It's been tough, but I'm hopeful that I'll get a notification any day now.

 

I got an update that my doll was released from customs (Uh oh...) and will be here either tomorrow or Wednesday.

She's here! Her little face greeted me and it's cute as a button!


Sorry for the bad photo. It's the best I can do atm. She came in a cute pink box with blue pillows, as well as a pink underwear set and an aqua-ish dress that she's holding. Her boobs aren't nearly so awkward as I thought they would be, and are more like Resin Soul's. (She's slim like a RS, too. I'll show pics of that later on tonight or tomorrow)

There's one issue that I feel might give people pause, and that is now her head is attached to her body. Or how it looks anyways.

Her head will only go in a couple positions because of how uncentered it is, but with some sueding, she'll be fine.

The neck is a bit odd, but it's not that bad.

 

I'm at work using my cell so I will properly write when I'm home with my laptop but I just had to say omg, she's adorable, congratulations! And yes that isn't normal with the neck lol it looks that the head just needs to be re-cenetered on it? I want to ask for her measuments since I'm dying to make clothes for my future girl.

 

Okay, a few more quick snaps and commentary before I go out. I'll put them behind spoilers for loadings sake.

Spoiler: Inside the head.

What's interesting is that there are two slots for the s-hook to sit. Her hook was in the slot closer to the back of the head, but for the pic I moved it forward. (Sueding all the way)

Spoiler: Headback.

The headback is a little different, too. There's a thin resin that has been poured over the magnets to keep them in place. Also, that white part in the back of the head isn't resin. It's a hole in the headcap where they glued their logo in place.

Spoiler: Thigh piece.

I didn't realize they had this extra cut in their thigh joint.

Spoiler: Thigh swivel.

They have a locking swivel joint, There are only two locking points, so I don't find it very useful, but someone else might.

Spoiler: Ankles!

She has large floating ankle joints which give a wide range of motion. She can point her toes.

Spoiler: AF Body vs. Resin Soul Front

The AF body has wider shoulders and lankier limbs, but I find the torsos similar. My RS body is just the single-jointed one, so I'm curious if the double-jointed one would be more in height with the AF one. (Winni's head is resting against a floating shelf since she wouldn't stand on her own atm, my RS was quickly restrung for the pic)

Spoiler: AF Body vs. Resin Soul Side.

Her back arches here, but I didn't try to even it out. When I have time I'll put them against a scored cutting mat so the dimensions will be more tangible.

Just general notes:

1) The resin had a really pleasant texture. It's not perfectly smooth like Resin Soul, but is more like a Custom House doll. I really like a little bit of tooth on my dolls.

2) Her feet are about a cm or so longer than Resin Soul feet. I'm thinking she'll need shoes meant for minifee. (I have a minifee so can check that later)

3) Her three piece torso works great! She can slouch forward and backwards no problem. I usually don't like this feature due to it sometimes not being functional, but this one is nice.

4) I think Winni might look better on a shorter body considering her face is small. I'll try this later.

5) I ordered her in pink skin and it is a very slight tint of pink. Kind of dainty?

6) She also has large floating wrist joints, so she has a wide range of motion there, too. Just like the ankles.

7) Her headcap fits onto her head very snuggly, so you need to line up the pegs first and snap them in. Kind of like a Hujoo.

 

you have me very excited about my dolls Lol! She's so tall! I have a double jointed RS so when I receive mine I'll be happy to compare. Now I'm thinking I want to buy more lol though I'm sure I'll be fine with the two. Do you think her measuments are true to the website?

 

Wow, I didn't realize they were that much bigger than a Resinsoul. That's neat. And thank you for the detail pics, they're making me even more excited that I already was. haha

Omgggg now I can’t wait for my winni!!! I also have a ressinosul ya on that body she’ll look great with her.

 

Not sure, I'll have to find my measuring tape. The measurements are also included on the CoA and I'll compare it against that.

Alice's must be swamped with orders! They've also had so many company summer events, I don't know how they keep up with it all! Tomorrow I'll be paying off my other Angel Fantasy layaway, so I'm anticipating a 4 month wait at this rate.

Spoiler: Eyes~

I think I have the eye sizes right. Some of them came without measurements in mystery bags. The looks are different depending on the colour of the eyes, and if it's a small or big iris.The 14mm on the bottom left are oval eyes, so there is less gapping, but not as much wiggle room.


She'll definitely need a size 6-7 wig, anything else is too big. (I don't have a 5-6 to try) Even then, the wig doesn't want to stay on because of the cutout in the back of her headcap, as well as her ears. It'll just be some adjusting, which isn't uncommon for dolls with elf ears.

Sorry, I made a mistake. She's wearing a 6-7, so she wears the same size as my RS Ju. She still has an oddly shaped head though. (I edited the original post)

I do already have a Gillian head and she has a better shape and can fit a 6/7 wig without the problems that Winni has.

Thank you ,I think it will be good with the wig i want to order, you can cut out peaces when needed ,it's 6-7 but got a headcap here.

 

*sigh* I'm at a little past 2 months of waiting now. I keep having to tell myself that I need to be patient, but it's so hard.

Spoiler: Winni vs. Gillian Head w/ Headcap.

I was wondering if Winni was one of their first heads or they had a different sculptor considering the differences in the heads. The Gillian head doesn't include the two s-hook slots like the Winni does.

Spoiler: Gillian w/ Wig and Eyes.

She's wearing my LoongSoul girls wig, plus two of the different eyes I tried in Winni. You can see the gapping with the pink eye, and the other eye is oval so it fits better.

I'll post the feet comparisons later on tonight.

Oh thank you so much @Bristol she is a funny size huh? Proportion wise but I also think she's charming. Can't wait for more photos. I'm so curious of the sizing because if the girl is true to size that they say then the boys should be too. I really hope my boy will be taller then my girl lol

 

No pic yet, I've been busy... However, I did try some shoes on her and she fits the same ones my Dollzone Fenyo does. Right now she's wearing a pair of Hello Kitty knock-off Mary Jane's I got from AliExpress and they fit like a glove. Definitely gotta get the shoes for slim mini's and not chubby child bodies. (Winni's feet swim in my Volks MSD's shoes)

FYI, she can fit in some Groovy Girls outfits.I have her in a two piece of a hoodie and pleated skirt just to see if it would fit, seeing as it does fit my RS Ju. It's an old outfit set from 5+ years ago, so... Not sure what the new sets are like. I think they still sell them in gift shops?

 

I got my AF Una today and I'm so happy with her, she's my first doll and she poses like a dream, really sturdy in basically everywhere but her head which doesn't seem to want to look up and stay but I can't say that's gonna be a huge problem for me. Alice's Collections also sent me a dress which I'm super happy about because they even matched it to the wig I ordered! The box was packaged beautifully and securely, with all the limbs wrapped and soft cushions. Her CoA has her measurements on it which will be super helpful since I didn't write them down and her listing has since been removed.

(Apologies for poor light and only phone quality pictures, I'm still saving for a quality camera)

 

My first doll was angel fantasy Alice she is still amazing even if she has yellowed I really love playing with her and she is such an awesome poser

She is so Cute! Congratulations!! I'm really loving these faces and feeling like kicking myself for not buying some heads. More so since a story is plotting in my head lol. That's so awesome that they sent extra clothes, do you think it might have been Angel Fantasy themselves? I mean with them closing it makes sense to make them almost full set since they won't need all the clothing they had to be left over.

Do you still have her? I know we would all love to see!

The rest of us are still waiting, I know I'm almost at the three month wait time I hope I get the notice soon as I just put in my two weeks in at work to start at a new job so it'd be a great "Congrats! You're going to be a teacher!" moment, ya know? lol

I've been meaning to post for a while, but I wanted to wait till I was on the laptop lol. So I'm curious to know if any new ideas or stories have appear while waiting or have just received their doll? I feel like every day a new story pops into mine

 

I've just been busy and working overtime. (Which means extra doll money. Muahaha~)

Gillian is pretty much set on what she'll look like and I need to make clothes and get a face-up, Amy might end up being a boy, and Eli and Winni are up in the air. There's some time for the other two (Amy and Eli) since they'll be another few months, along with Gillian's body.

Winni might end up with a 90's style bob in white with blue and pink streaks. There's some dyed fibers I bought, and I think they'd make a cute wig for her. It's just a matter of finding the time and it'll be easier than trying to find and mod a wig to accommodate her ears.
