@Rook_Sever it's definitely good to know to look on the smaller side. Most of my dolls are 65cm and higher so I automatically look to the bigger bodies. I do have a DZ Merlin at the moment though so I can use his body as a tester for size. I will keep Supia's old normal in mind, I have a Joshua head I can compare Yolande to once I have him but I think that's a new normal head.

I recently got an Amadiz Holly in chocolate skin from the final head sale. He’s pretty gorgeous!

I’m hoping to hybrid him with a DF-H 62cm male body in the imported tan skin. I wasn’t able to find any resin comparison information regarding Amadiz’s chocolate skin, so we’re gonna wing this. Hopefully the match will be close enough to correct with blushing.

 

I sold my chocolate Amadiz head and kept the body but it is a very difficult colour to match, very orange in tone.

 

I have the same problem with my Amadiz body in Bisque skin @avrilpaeony I have access to alot of dolls but so far nothing matches even close. Have you tried old Supia tan skin for yours? That also seems to be an orange-ish tan and the heads should fit well in proportion.

 

I'm just wandering through threads, LOL, just wanted to note, Impldoll has a tan that is rather orange, but even so, you can also have them match your resin for $50 more. Only thing is, the bodies are big and rather stiff and harder to dress. I find the FGB of the idol male to be the best poser, but their star body is smaller (male) just not a good sitter.

Also, if you don't mind him being darker, it's not too hard to blush a head to match a darker body? Anyway, good luck

 

I have put my Iple Carina head on the Amadiz body and it fits beautifully, she is in realskin and is a bit yellowed, I am intending to invest in a new face-up for her and have it blushed a bit more orange/tan.

 

Does anyone have comparison photos between Iplehouse Peach Gold and Amadiz Peach Cream?

There was a comment earlier in this thread that the peach cream was quite dark and similar to Iplehouse peach gold but of course it depends on the resin batches as Amadiz does seem to vary quite a lot.

Hi everyone. I am new to this thread. I am receiving New Magdalena's head and planning to put her on IPYID body. Do you think it will be a good match?

 

I had a Virginia whose head I sold, kept the body and have an Iple Carina head on it which works well though I was surprised how tiny the Amadiz head was. You may find the Iple neck is a bit wide but it is one of those things you don't really know until you try it and see how it looks.

Here I tried Magdalena New on EID body, and I'd say she's small for this body - probably YID would be much better!

Congratulations! I am a bit concerned that the YID body might be a bit small for Magdalena's head...but give it a try it might be perfect! I know her actual body size is closer to the SID size.

 

I do have SID body as well but the resin is white and yellowed a lot.

I finally have a Magdalena head and I was surprised how small the head is but in a good way. The mouth is amazing! I am now going to be looking for a slender male body for him. I got the milky skin which looks beautiful and pale.

Looking for hybrid bodies for New Magdalena. Literally the toughest thing to find. Most pictures are of them fully clothed which doesn’t help when trying to find the correct proportions.

Does someone, anyone have a list of female bodies compatible with this head with actual full body reference pics for proportions sake?

 

Hello! I just had a Magdalena Old head arrive (after being shipped back in August last year omg) and I was wondering what types of female bodies hybrid well with these heads?

Mine is on Old Supia single jointed body, I wanted her to look like not young but still beautiful woman.

 

I used to have a Virginia on a dollfie dreams of all things (held on by a bread tag; bisque and flesh match really well!

She also looked decent on the Supia double jointed body I briefly had her on (didn't match super well with their old normal). If you'd like, I can try her on any of the other bodies on my profile!

@Rook_Sever - Thank you so much! She's currently blank - I have a vague idea of how I'd like her face up to look, but I do have a couple of other projects I'd like to finish first. I'll make her a wig and get her a proper set of eyes (I'm thinking blue, as I accidentally created a pattern with how the eye colours of this particular group end up ), and then I'll worry about painting her. The weather here has been really humid and wet, so it's not like I can do any painting right now. Ugh.

Thank you for the comparison with the Twigling girls - I actually plan on having a Gamine as her "sister" eventually.
I would love it if your were able to get her onto the Supia body and take some photos - so far in my search for a body for her, Supia seems to have the closest to what I'm looking for. I'd love to hear your opinion of the body too!

I am so happy. I just put a Yolande head on layaway with another member. I have wanted a Yolande boy for years. It has an Amadiz faceup too so i'm hoping it will work for my character. Body will be a long way off though as I have others to finish first.

 

Congratulations! They are so incomparable.. After my fullset Virginia new I fully understood that. I'm in love with how detailed and professionally they are created.

I sold a few things and paid my Yolande off really fast. Here he is with his brother (Magdalena) who still needs a face up. They are Fae and very androgynous boys.

 

I know I've already told you this, but they're just so pretty! I can't wait to see them all done up and on bodies! Will they be keeping those eyes?

 

I love them so much! I am not sure if the eyes will be their permanent ones yet. I have one body coming (Dollzone60) and hoping it works. I want slender male bodies for both of them. Also the silvery wig is a little small (I already had it from another doll and it is the perfect colour) so I need to make it just a little larger. Maybe I will try adding a little material underneath at the back where it won't be seen. I was thinking of making another character when I first got one, but once I got the other they I realised they have to be the brothers.

 

Ooh I'm really curious about that body! I'll have to check it out once it arrives as I've been contemplating it for a hybrid.

 

Here is a glimpse of what his body looks like. It is very beautiful. There is some neck bulge at the back, but it is covered by his hair so I can live with it. Also Amadiz milky is a little more pink than the Dollzone Peach. I am sure a bit of blushing will fix that though.

 

As for me, it turned out as a perfect male hybrid for this head. Proportions are just stunning.

 

I am very happy. It is about as perfect as I could get to the look I wanted. I now need to decide what body to get for my Yolande.

So, I ordered my doll in March last year and DM'd and emailed them to ask for updates, and also to change my address - and no response. Have people been hearing from Amadiz recently or should I do a chargeback? I hate doing this to independent artists, but it's been two months, and multiple emails/messages with no response...

 

Have you tried messaging or commenting on this other account? It is theirs as well, but I think it isn't the main one (I believe it is newer): @liloubirdie

If they don't respond in a reasonable amount of time (and two months is plenty of time in my opinion), then I wouldn't hesitate to do a chargeback. Unfortunately, stories here and elsewhere have convinced me that their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. I'm an independent artist and life happens (people get sick, etc.) but you can't abandon customers and if they are posting regularly on social media (and the latest one on the account above is in December 2022) then they ought be receiving emails, DMs, etc.

I've been wanting to pre-order from this artist for a while, but I have heard things about their customer service not being that great.
This is making me feel hesitant in ordering. I hope you got your doll by now.

 

Amadiz' "customer service not being that great" is a massive understatement, it's absolutely horrible. To be fair, some people have had absolutely fine experiences with them, but when it doesn't go just fine it seems to go really, really poorly.
@sewstine - did you ever hear from them and/or get your doll? I can only imagine the beautiful things you'd end up making for them

 

Ok it’s been years now. Does anybody have a comprised list of female bodies that can fit Amadiz heads

 

I don’t know that there’s a list anywhere, but I have one on the Soom Old supergem body, and one on a dollmore glamour Eve body.

The supergem neck is a little large, but looks good—the resin match wasn’t great. And the glamour Eve is a little small, but still looks good imo

 

So the SatoriaJ 61 Aphrodite body seems to be a good alternative.

If anybody has anymore hybrid Amadiz sculpts, please let me know.

So I think I found it. I’m such a hybrid snob and have been doing research for months asking questions, checking discussion boards, reference hunting and ALOT of research of different brands for this particular doll. I am not in the position to be buying and selling if the body doesn’t fit. So I really take the time to study what I’m buying. So far it has paid off! My aesthetic is all about realism and proportions, so I really do obsess over the smallest details.


Measurements:

This is my Amadiz Alice in Chocolate. Now from my extensive research it has confirmed that indeed these heads are smaller. I’ve looked at a lot of companies such as Supia, Dollshe, Iplehouse, SartoriaJ, Dollpamm etc. The proportions were just not right from anything Ive seen. To me, the head was looking like a lollipop on a swole body. They really designed this head to only be used on their expensive body.

The closest I found to looking somewhat normal was the Sartoriaj body. Until the BJD gods made me stumble upon Impldoll. Now I’ve never liked the aesthetic of the bodies, until I saw the fairly new body,
Star Model Female Body

Measurements:
* Tall (with head): 63cm
* Tall (without head): 57cm
* Neck Circumference : 9 cm
* width of shoulder : 14.5 cm
* Length of "shoulder to wrist": 20 cm
* Wrist Diameter: 1.8 cm
* Chest Circumference : Large-30.5cm, Medium-29cm, Small-28.5cm
* Circumference of waist: 19.5 cm
* Circumference of Hip: 31 cm
* Leg Length : 37 cm
* Thigh Circumference : 17.5 cm
* Calf of Circumference: 10.5 cm
* Feet Size: 7.1 * 2.7 cm


The measurements weren’t exactly a match but it did look alright. Especially in the body aesthetic department. Just from looking at it, it seemed a bit boxy for the still small Amadiz head, since I no longer go from the company website measurements. Since being on this thread and asking questions, measurements are off especially with looking at reference photos with other dolls will similar neck circumferences that it could fit. I was starting to think maybe should I look at a smaller neck cm bodies to offset the proportion challenges.

Everything changed when I saw the,
*New* 62cm Girl Body

Now the measurements are not far off from the Star Body but the neck circumference is smaller at 8.8cm. I hate bobble head dolls and I didn’t want to much neck gap. I started to measure how far 8.8cm is from 9cm and wasn’t that much of a stretch. This 62cm is a lot curvier with smaller features that I think could offset well with the Amadiz head.


A better reference of these 2 side-by-side. Now in no way am I 100% sure on this but I’m taking a gamble. Amadiz Studio has been the hardest company to find any hybrids for even good reference photos. So I took matters in my own hands. I’ll be purchasing the 62cm girl body, very nervous but hopeful.

Oooh fingers and toes crossed it works out for you! I would absolutely love to see photos when her body arrives. I've been thinking of a Supia body for my floating Amadiz head, but I really like how the Impldoll body looks.

 

@Holiday, I’m curious, did the Impl body work out? I was torn on trying a Supia but the Impl one looks better to me and I’m this close to pulling the trigger on ordering one.

I’ve got a Milky tone Orlando Elf head on the way. Someone on Reddit posted a resin comparison, and from the photos it seems that Amadiz Milky is a near-perfect match for Mia Pink. So here’s to hoping Mia Pink is a standard resin color, everyone wish me luck because I just can’t bring myself to spend 1.3k on an Amadiz body in this economy I might be joining in this Impl doll body hybrid testing soon.

 

I don’t have the exact head (I have a Virginia!) or the exact body (I have the Star Model body), and my body is a custom shade of blue, and my head is bisque, dyed red, so I can’t help with resin comparisons, but if you wanted to just see how Virginia looks on the Star model, as an approximation of the hybrid you’re looking at, let me know, and I’ll haul mine out for photos.

 

Oh that would actually be great just to get a sense for comparison’s sake, thank you! It seems like most Amadiz heads are smaller on average and the Star Model is only a little taller so it’d be great to get a general sense of it!

 

@CygneNoir Hi! I have not purchased the body just yet but it is still on my list. The Star Female body is the only doll body with an 8.8cm neck girth. Which is suitable for the head since it’s so small. From the hybrids I’ve seen, 9cm neck dolls causes the head to look really small on such a large neck. I would purchase if I were you.
