But her wig is finally staying (thanks to PamSD ) so she's not bald.

So, back to the conversation on wigs. Most of you use a 7/8 on your girls??? I'm amazed! What about Monique wigs? Still a 7/8?

 

I've always used an 8/9, I found 7/8 too small but I put a silicone wig cap underneath which keeps them on.

I have Monique wigs on my EID Carina and my YID Iris. According to Iple they wear the same size. Both of my girls wear Monique Gold size 8-9, and a month or so ago I switched the girls' wigs and they are perfect for size of course. The other thing is, Monique Gold 8-9 is not too small, and not too big, but all I have to do is put a rubber band around the head and that secures the wig perfectly, AND the fit behind the ears, not on them. That is really important to me.

 

I saw for the first time THE Jessica from IH...and so far i think shes the perfection! I fell in love...but she cost $$$ XD ahhh life is hard on me :P

Hey guys! I've been thinking about ordering a Jessica... Does anyone know how often or regularly Iplehouse offer skin options other than normal/white skin for their basic EIDs?

And do you think there's a better time to order, like an annual event or anything? @_@

 

They have a Custom system that will repoen in July...it usually lasts the first half of the month.

 

Ooh, great. I had looked at their custom system but it didn't have any options in it, so I was worrying that they didn't offer it anymore, maybe because of their move!

 

Anyone with Carina .. what size eyes do you prefer for her? 12mm?

 

No they stopped it during the head and body event they had a couple of months ago. I imagine they might tweak the system eventually...depending on what customers want...but yes, July should see the Custom System back.

 

I definitely prefer Carina with 11 or 12mm eyes. I've got my girl in 11mm right now and I think, because her eyes are so small, that anything bigger wouldn't look as nice, in my opinion any how.

 

Do you prefer the EID or SID female body better and why? I'm unsure which one I want to buy. I have had both in the past, but never both together to compare. I checked out the pictures on iplehouse, but still am torn Any advice?

@~Rikku~ There is an entire thread dedicated to that question, right here. It has tons of items from different companies that fit EID girls. It also touches on what definitely doesn't fit as well, which saves you the trouble of experimenting with items you're unsure of.

It's usually from 1 to 15th of every month. well, was before they closed their Custom Doll System for improvement. It shall re-open in July. (I'm so waiting for it). Iplehouse holds events sometimes, but it does not apply to Custom System. And if you order Basic doll you might apply for layaway. Custom System didn't have that option before

 

I have a need to see pictures of Asa from time to time and lately this need has become much stronger. I feel this is a bad sign because I have no character for an Asa. But she's so... inspiring! I've even tried to force myself into liking the JID Asa or even the SID, but somehow they don't have the same effect on me. I've seen the Jessica my cousin had and the SID Cherie my friend had, and I have a Feeple Chloe, but I remember that Jessica was really massive. Very substantial. Maybe that's the appeal even if it's totally out of character for me. Asa is such a beauty and with that figure... Oh man.

This is so awesome! I have Ipleized my Aunt!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am bubbling over with excitement!!!! She saw my Asa, and wants her!!! I think it is going to be SO cool obsessing over Iplehouse dolls with one of my favorite people!!!!!!!!

I have one small problem and maybe someone can help me. I need a light tan doll to replace her because I have a Carina head that I intended on sharing that body. Went to Iplehouse's site, and there are NO light tan bodies available. My question is, and since I'm new to collecting these dolls, should I panic? LOL Will Iplehouse be offering light tan women bodies again? Is this their regular mode of operation? I did put a question on the site but I'm hoping someone here might have some pearls of wisdom. I'm going to have a bodiless girl now.

OK...now I'm back to the excitement of my Aunt wanting the doll. This is WAY too awesome!!!

Hi Laurie, don't worry. Iplehouse sells "Custom" dolls from the 1st to the 15th of the month. So next month you should be able to get what you are looking for. And the Light Tan skin tone is included in that. They just started selling Real Skin as a "Basic" which also used to be custom. Basic dolls you can order anytime.

Hope they do the custom head event again too. That was so cool! I got a Carina head and an Asa head to share my tan body. I'd probably get an Eva and Lehela if I could, and another Asa since my Aunt is taking this one. I'm SO thrilled she's been Ipleized! LOL

wrxgal: M~(7/8) if you like the wigs tight or the E~(8/9) if you don't. Also depends on which doll head you have; I prefer the fit of the "M" on my Asa but they are demon spawn when trying to get them on my Soo.

It's a pipe dream because of the cost, but someday I truly wish to get an EID Asa. She's beyond gorgeous! But there was a pic on Flickr where an owner mentioned that though Asa had a gorgeous sculpt, the joint were crap. I haven't seen anyone else say anything about the joints but as I'm super new I'm assuming I just not looking in the right place. Is there a thread that explains about the joints? I tried searching but it just brought up any thread that Iplehouse was mentioned in. *sighs*

 

Yoiyami- try searching in this thread for "joint" and you should come up with a number of posts about the EID woman joints. The only occasional problem I have had with EID women are the knees popping out when I am trying to get them to sit, other than that I haven't had issues. If the joints were a concern for you, you could always consider using Iplehouse's custom ordering system and order an Asa head on an SID woman body. Iple reworked the joints for the SID dolls. I will say that having owned both the EID and SID woman bodies that there is just *something* about the EID body that I find really appealing...maybe it's those hips. The SID body is great, just portioned down a bit and I don't think the hips are as voluptuous. Just my 2 cents.

 

You can use the same head for two different sized bodies? Wow. I would expect the proportions to look all funky!

 

Yeah, the heads are interchangeable for the EID and SID women but the same doesn't work for the EID and SID guys...the neck holes for the guys are a different size.

Here was a comparison picture with a Luna head on an EID body and a Yur (who is sold as a basic EID) head on the SID body (you need to become a member of Iple to view the image): HERE

The custom system allows you to pick the body that you want with whichever head mold you want...along with the resin color you want. I think it's great but the drawback is the price is a little higher and they do not offer layaway with the custom system like they do when you buy a basic or limited edition doll.

That is great that your Ipleized your aunt!!!! Will this be her first BJD or her first Iple or both?
I WISH that any of my friends were as much into BJD or even just sewing and crafting as I am. Most of the time I am doing the virtual sewing meet thing, and attending local meets every once in a while, but have no one close enough to get together with on a regular basis, which kinda sucks. So it's wonderful to have someone not just close, but a family member to talk to and "conspire" with Enjoy it!!!!

I have to say I love it, and I would like to see it on one of the EID women someday.
Love the sculpts in general, but I always find the noses too small.
Think they are kinda girly, I want a powerful woman like Katey Sagal or Anjelica Huston

Im trying to find information about the EID woman body...Did they update it a while ago from the original EID body by changing the foot hooks? What else did they change about it and can anyone link to pictures please?

 

I have an old EID woman and a new one and the only changes I have noticed are in the foot hooks, as you say. They are now a lot less fragile-looking (my old EID woman broke a foot hook. Well, I did it actually, in trying to get a pair of too tight boots off. Can't blame her for that. But the design was instrisically weak, so something like that was bound to happen at some point).

 

Not sure if it's a change exactly, but last night I noticed that my Luna from early 2010 and my new Lahela are... different heights? It's a minor difference but I had them side by side for comparison pics for a friend and saw it. It's not a head-size difference, since it's noticeable at the knees and hips. Also, although maybe it's a trick of skin tone/mold age, but my Luna's waist looks bigger.

The EID knees really are very very annoying. Luo also has that knee problem and I hate it when I've struggled to get his pants on, and done up the zip - kerplunk out go the knees and I have to fiddle.

SID girls are for me a slight psychological advantage because the size (I think it's only psychological) just seems that much easier to manage. But I've come to the conclusion that I don't like mobility thighs much. So only my first EIDs have them and after that I just stopped the mobility.

 

Penny azar: Have you seen this modification on the knee?

 

Wow. that modification is amazing. Seems to work really well. Unfortunately mini tools and I are not best of friends. Some people are amazing at adapting and solving problems. Iplehouse should take a look at this and implement it.
