I've been playing around with an Unoa rescue, and *finally* made some good progress.

I'd picked up this horribly modded Oyasumi faceplate as part of a hybrid (Dollmore Shabee body) and had planned to just ditch the head. But something about those ridiculous eyes won me over. So enter a week of fixing the dern thing & painting. Mods are worlds better. My paint job...also worlds better, of course, I didn't have to paint on LUMPY, CRACKED apoxie sculpt, so that's not saying much. I'm not all that happy with it yet. It does at least capture my Montana's fun prankster personality, so I can live with it for a while

I have a question for you all, if I were going to choose between a 7-8 and a 6-6.5 leekeworld wig for my Unoa fp (with a Buff headback) which should I go for? I know that Unoas fit 6-7, but this wig really is perfect for him and I would like to make it work if possible.

 

My Unoa hybrids with Buff headback all use 6-7 wigs; 7-8 are much too big.

Showtaro I really really really like Darcy, and her makeover doesn't change my feelings at all. What a cutie beauty! I love her style, and those specs!

As for my guys, they're finally all painted an nice. This guy has been rolling around unpainted and neglected for ages.. Partially because he has no body, partially because I find painting boys a bit intimidating.. But here's Walther, finally faceupped again! Now I need to haunt Mandarake for a body!!

MissEmily, I always love rescuing damaged dolls -- some of my favorite dolls came to me as rescue jobs, and it's such a pleasure to see them restored to life!

I took my Sist apart to sand the seams and actually shortened her elastic a bit too. She still won't stand. The ankles just won't hold >> I don't think she is overly loose or anything.. Do Unoas need to be like extremely tightly strung to be able to stand?

KISSATEN - What do you mean by ankles won't hold? I've never heard of this before.

My girls are pretty loose and need tightening but they stand fine as is, but their knees buckle sometimes cause they're too loose.

 

Rinoa - She just wants to fall either front- or backwards >> I removed the little bit of sueding I had done and now she can stand... if positioned veeery carefully, but I wouldn't leave her to stand unsupervised ._. I have never had a doll with this bad balance before.

 

KISSATEN, without playing with your doll or seeing a video, I can only suggest wiring her or adjusting the string tension. I don't have a new Unoa, all of mine stand fine, one is a bit floppy and her knees like to move positions, but she still stands ok.

 

Kissaten, have you tried turning her toes inward when she's standing? My new chibi is naturally VERY pigeon-toed, and she wants to fall over unless I let her feet point inward. If she's standing that way, she's as steady as a rock.

Just recently nabbed these two off the MP and I adore them!
Bubblegum is an Unoa Sist + Akubi boy (They totally look like girls but just think of them as very girly boys? XD)
Mods done: Eyes opened and overall face shortened for a younger look.

They're currently on a MNF girl body, and I'm thinking over modding off the chest for them as I like how they look on the curvier body.

On my end, the little harmony hh feet from littlemonica arrived ^_^ for those who might be interested, here are a few pics.








Although it is quite visible that it is not a perfect match, since the ankle portion is quite a bit smaller than the unoa, I think it is quite a passable option since the resin is quite compatible!

The littleharmony normal skin feet are slightly pinker than the fresh skin resin, but in real life it is barely discernible! I have yet to make a pair of hh shoes to test if she would stand well, though I am super pleased and relieved that my burlesque Saffron will no longer have to keep to flats XD

 

My Unoa collections just keeps growing! *blush* I received a Fairy Skin Sist today (along with a modded Lusis sleeping faceplate), I traded another doll for this and I'm quite happy! I just hope I can find time to paint all my girls and boys... There are now 6 Unoas waiting for faceups. XD

Does anyone know what color wig comes with the new Fairy skin Sist this year? I'd just want to make sure I got the right one with my own.
