Unoas are slender minis, which is to say they are about the same height as the Volks MSD and similar dolls but proportioned in a more adult manner. Other slender minis include the Narindoll Narae and Narin, the Minifee line now sold at Fairydoll, and Limho and Limwha. Unoas take a 6/7 size wig.

I have a Lusis, named Helly, and a Sist, named Tish. I adore their beautiful sculpts, their funny little faces, and the elegant and lovely job that Araki did in engineering them.

Everytime I look at the two of them, I smile. :D

    8. I got to hang out yesterday at a doll meet with a friend who also had a MNF/Unoa hybrid, and I forgot to get a photo of Caroline and her together. Well, any Caroline spam is better than none for the new thread!

    9. Oh man, new thread! I JUST repainted my Sist narae hybrid, Max, so hopefully I can take some pictures of her soon! (Also, I will be getting her a sister soon - a modded Lusis MNF hybrid)

    13. I love the new thread spam so far! Caroline got a new sweatshirt in the mail last week so I figured I would share before it is too hot to be wearing sweatshirts around here.

Gave Altair a tail ^^ She's a real cat now! (And the little strange thing with her is Horizon, my chibi)

    15. I don't think Brennil posted this new thread, as you can see the thread starter says 2005. I think the mods do something odd to duplicate the old discussion post.

    16. Oh well, then the mods will read it and maybe edit. If posts are duplicated it's nice to update them as well.

    17. Mods have limited ability to edit member posts -- they can remove stuff that's against the rules, but they don't edit post content (and I don't really think anyone would want their post reworded without their knowledge!) At least, this was DoA policy when I was a mod, and I don't think it's changed.

What we CAN do is to copy the info from Brennil's post start a new thread with updated links (for example, links to the discussion threads for Unoa Elders, Unoa Elder Brothers, and Chibi-Unoas would be helpful!), and start a new thread and link to it here.

When I'm not typing on my phone, I'll do it if I have time later :)

AFAIK, Brennil hasn't been very active on DoA in some time, so she probably wouldn't see the edit requests. (Her shop is still open, but she does commissions through her mailing list.)

Once the new thread has been started and a link has been posted, we can ask the mods to close this thread and move the party over there... and subsequent Unoa Discussion threads would start with an info post that wasn't several years old.

      -- A :)

    18. I took a better look at the link I thought needed updating. The pictures are gone, but the descriptions are still there. So maybe it's useful after all :).

    19. Oops! I missed the new thread! Nice to see everybody's beauties here!

Finally a pic of Allegra again @@

    23. Aaaaah~ My Lusis mod hybrid came in the mail yesterday!

    24. Oooh she's really pretty! What is she?

So...I've heard people talk about Unoa's and I hear people say how expensive they are. I know nothing about them. Is unoa the brand/store? Where do you even find their sculpts or view them? o.o I literally know 0 about them or even where to find the information.

    25. I purchased my Unoa Lusis here: http://noppin.ocnk.net/
They will update their "What's new" section when they are about to take preorders for certain sculpts. They are not currently accepting full doll preorders right now, but you can buy faceplates and other parts.

    26. Ooh thank you. ^^ So, do the bodies have the head backs attached sort of like Fairyland's littlefee?

    27. Erratic Allegra is a Lusis :)

And yes, the bodies have the headbacks attached a bit like Fairyland's Littlefee :3

    28. When was the last pre-order period at Noppin though? I'm in this hobby for two years now and I can't remember seeing a pre-order. Did I miss it?

    29. Evelien: I am waiting also. I am hoping that they have a lottery in the next few months as I will be able to buy then. I think their dolls are very special for many reasons.

    30. The last one I can remeber was somewhere in Spring 2012 when the new Fresh Skin was introduced.

    31. Which Spring was that, northern hemisphere or southern? i.e. April May or September October?

    32. I've never heard of that company before to be honest! The body looks beautiful, I love the heeled legs.

I've tried several Unoa hybrids but I'm still falling out of love with my girl a bit. I sent Noppin an inquiry about the next pre-order for doll kits. I hope they have any info.

    33. It was May 2012, 7-23 May to be exact. http://http://noppin.ocnk.net/

    34. Thanks for looking, Evelien. I like the high heel legs as well. Do I have to check the neck width only for hybridising? (Other than Lusis probably needing a petite look.) It's 7.7 cm. What is the margin for the head's neck opening and body's neck width to fit? Are the separate face plates in the "old skin" or the "fresh skin"?

    35. I don't know about your last question, you'd have to ask Noppin. And to be honest I never checked data before I did a hybrid. I tried my Unoa on an MNF body which was known to be a successful hybrid already, and I tried her on a DreamingDoll body which was a bit of a guess but hey, I could get it with another body for a good price ;).

Right now I just want an original Unoa body - which is impossible or extremely expensive to find if you don't buy through Noppin - or a Narae body as a good substitute if I can't get the first, but those aren't easy to come by either ;)

    36. Roterwolkenvogel Every time I look at Allegra I think of getting Lusis to keep company to my Sist. Your girl is just gorgeous!

Evelien Original body is very beautiful but when you buy the faceplate separately-there is no guaranty it will match colorwise. My girl's body is definitely has this greenish undertone and sometimes I think of putting her on Minifee body-ironically they match better.

[IMG]]Gemma in pink by Safray, on Flickr

    37. That's why I'd prefer to buy a brand new Noppin kit. ^^

Your girl is beautiful by the way <3

    38. I'm not familiar with that company, either, but it does look very similar in the upper torso (as if they'd used both Unoa and MNF for inspiration for various body parts -- not saying that the body isn't a legitimately original sculpt, but that it looks like it would very likely be compatible with Unoa heads.)

You can buy Unoa headbacks from http://buffdolls.net/ -- she only has Chibi-Unoa headbacks listed right now, but they're compatible with regular Unoa faceplates (you could ask her if she's going to get any more of the regular ones in stock, or if she's switching over to the Chibi version. The main difference is that regular Unoa faceplates would require a bit of tape/sticky Velcro/etc. at the very top of the faceplate to hold it in place, because it doesn't come with the stringing grooves like the Chibi faceplates.)

I also think that the A Long Time heeled legs are very pretty (and two heel heights and four bust sizes, how awesome!) I think the closest for a non-Freshskin Unoa would probably be the "Normal Yellow" skintone. Freshskin is closer to "Normal Pink," although it's kind of in between the two colors. Unoas are always a little hard to match, but blushing the collarbones and cheeks can make a big difference in getting the resin match to look good :)

      Hope this helps!

      -- Andi <3

    39. Just a quick question for anyone who has put a Unoa together - are the kits difficult to assemble? I'm completely smitten with L bi, but never had an MSD before, much less a Unoa. I hope Noppin releases some kits this year. :D
Unoa boys have the cutest little tummies ever. @.@

    40. Thanks Evelien and Ashbet :) I already got in touch with Amaeta and bookmarked a thread on making your own headbacks. I do like the Unoa bodies very much, but it's about 200 euros more expensive than ALT with shipping and customs fees included. I asked in the hybrid thread if someone knows about the skin type of separate face plates. I'm hoping for normal yellow.

    41. I just wanted to pop in and say hello to all my fellow Unoa owners. I need to update my signature, but recently my collection took a massive overhauling, and I went from mostly SDs to mostly unoas. Haha. And it all started with one:

I have adored this boy since I saw him a few years ago, and around Valentine's Day, I was shocked to find him on EBay. So with some really incredible luck, I was able to bring him home. We're still working on proper eyes/wigs, but meet Tripp, my modded sist boy.

He is joined by my L-Bi who doesn't have a name yet, or photos because I'm still working on him (we just got his body last week and are waiting for his headback, which was accidentally forgotten by the seller) and I need to buy more eyes and wigs, and my lusis girl that my friend traded me for one of my SDs, and she's still being worked on or else I'd post her too. And soon they'll be joined by Harper, a modded L-Bi/MNF hybrid I just finished paying off.

..I'm creating an unoa army over here. another friend just bought a b-el for the purpose of getting a body for her l-bi, and I'm buying the faceplate and her amaeta headback. And I have plans for at least 1 sist girl, and potentially another lusis. I'm hooked!!!

    42. ZombChan he's gorgeous :D

    43. Oh, awesome! I didn't know if she was still making them -- back when she'd originally done the Unoa Zero headback, I contacted her and never heard back, so I figured that she probably wasn't still casting them. Hopefully that will be useful for Rosinha -- thank you!

ZombChan, Tripp is gorgeous!! Can't wait to see the rest of your army!!

      -- A :D

    44. Thank you! He certainly thinks so ;)

And they can't wait to be shown off!!

Speaking of, the newest addition - Harper - arrived yesterday. Here he is, showing off his awesome-ness.

He's a modded L-Bi on a MNF body. And he is the absolute gem of my collection. I never thought I could love a doll so fast, but this boy...is perfection.

    45. Lovely boys you have ZombChan!

Caleb got a new wig recently as well a couple new "piercings". Finally he looks like he is in a punk band :D

    46. Caleb is gorgeous, The_Shining_Polaris!!! Did you buy his wig like that or did you mod it yourself?

    47. I love all the new boy spam to the thread! I finally have finished school for the semester so I've been taking more photos of Caroline who is my L-Bi girl on MNF body, kinda the backwards of yours ZombChan.

    48. AlmySidaKay - I LOVE Caroline. I have several of her photos bookmarked for how lovely she is. And I alsmot considered turning Dev (my unmodded L-Bi) into a girl because of her. But alas, he shall keep his boy parts. Which, conincidentally, don't stay on. hahaha. Tripp's are secure, but Dev's fall out all the time, and I almost threw out his extra large part by accident. I may have to putty it in somehow.

Does anyone have any dark hair/light eyed lusis girls? I'm trying to come up with an idea for my girl. and her sleeping face, which may become another doll all together.

    49. -totally forgot about the photo sharing thread- You're a doll, Ashbet!! Well...not.,.really, because then we'd all be fighting for the OOAK limited Ashbet...but..you know what I mean!

So, here's another question - what are the benefits of NOT gluing the leg/thigh cap things? Because 2 of mine aren't glues, but one is, and I was wondering if there was any added benefit to NOT gluing them.

    50. Have they answered yet? I sent an inquiry on May 12th, but no response as yet :(

    51. Nope, nothing :-(

    52. Thanks! It's one of Monstro Designs wigs for a minifee. The fur was very long so I had to mod the heck out of it! :)

    53. Awww, thanks, hon!! Glad to help!! <3

(Hehe -- the OOAK Limited Ashbet looks good on the outside, but is full of cracks and warps and probably needs her hip caps glued in and DEFINITELY needs some wiring for her back, and isn't all that great at standing by herself -- not sure she's much of a bargain once you take her apart!) ;)

I always glue the thigh caps in -- the instructions say to do it, and I've had a doll semi-collapse on me before when a hip-cap has come UNglued, so I've always felt like they helped with the stability.

      -- A <3

    54. Thanks! I sadly only have Caroline in the brown with brown. I've also been playing with some photo editing tools, but I might have gone too far with this one.

    55. I have two beautiful unoa's head, but I still hesitate on the body, I do not know which to choose ... But I already know their name, as well as their style and personality!
