Well.. I do, it's a coat made by mio. Dag and I were commenting about it in the second last photo in my flickr, I've not seen cord coats elsewhere but hopefully a similar coat will be found for your Wolverine. edit: Gah, I forgot to say thank you!

something i want to ask: I now have a fairy skin Lusis, but her eye mechanism thingy, and the teeth part are normal skin (there is quite a difference!) is this okay? anybody else have the same thing?

 

GlukoZza, I don't have a fairy skin, but I think it wouldn't be noticeable as it would be painted and barely seen after assembly..as for the eye mechanism it is usually hidden under a wig too.

 

I made her face up again, is not really that I want but much better that the first.

I messed up the first try, and in the middle of the 2nd attempt at giving Saffron a face...will add highlights to her lips...meanwhile am out to pick up eyelashes for her while she dries!

 

So cute! I would like to see her with her eyes and wig!

Whee! I should get my Fairy Skin Lusis tomorrow, I released her from the Customs (after being charged some nice money...) But yay! I can't wait to get to shop some stuff for her! I actually already would've but the seamstress I wanna buy from is busy right now so I have to wait. :3

So fun to see this thread moving along lickety split and see new Unoa's arriving home! Loving all the pics of your new girls!!!

 

I have honestly no idea what happened to the Unoa 2.0 thread but here is my Julianne. She came to me in a very poor condition so I stripped her down, cleaned her up, and completely resanded/reshaped all her seams. Whoever sanded the seams before me only knows how to sand straight up and down so all her limbs look boxy. Poor thing. It is like getting a new kit all over again! I even got her new strings because the ones that she came with broke while I was just looking at how she was strung together! :O



The only thing I have to complain about is that something is very weird about this particular doll's resin. When I finally finished sanding some of the parts the flaws started to come up. Little tiny resin bubbles came up to the surface where I was sanding on her shoulder. I decided that sanding to get rid of it is a bad idea so I left it there. Her shoe parts were also awfully full of holes that can't be cleaned off. I am not sure really what to do because that is how Unoa 2.0s stand. It looked like someone was trying to paint it black and then took it off? Anyway, they were impossible to remove. I hope soaping the heels will remove it.

 

Yay, I got my Fairy skin Lusis some minutes ago. For my surprise she was already assembled by Alchemiclabo. And her resin feels different from my other Unoas, I wonder why. Anyway! My Unoas are all in the middle of renewing, they all will receive new faceups, wigs, eyes and clothes! Only their names will probaply remain. :3 (From right to left: Iori, Constantine, Nanae, Margo and Helia)

I got a Decadent faceplate with my Lusis but it doesn't really fit the headback, it does go in if I force it but I'd rather not, it leaves an ugly crack behind her ear.

Oh poop, my just arrived girl has two cracks on the top of her legs. It's most likely due to Alchemiclabo worker putting her together by force. I just sent a message to Noppin about this... I hope everyone elses dolls will be okay but please, check these parts on your doll when you receive them.

Here's one of the cracks. There's a similar on her other leg part.


EDIT! LOL my bad, it's actually a seam line that looks very much like a crack. So you don't have to worry! I received confirmation from Noppin about this. :3

 

I'm so excited to hear that all your new Unoas are being shipped out assembled!! I'm expecting a fairy skin Sist in the next day or two and I ALMOST didn't order her for fear of having to tackle stringing so early into my BJD ventures!! I have my fingers crossed super hard that mine comes assembled too!!

 

Awww, I was kinda hoping she'd come unassembled cause I love putting them together. But it's no big deal! I usually procrastinate and take an age to do it anyway. I'll probably have to remove her small bust and put the large one on so I'll have some assembling to do.

Looks like customs got a hold of my package. I am dreading this charge. x_x

 

My girl is still in customs office, I get money to pay her away from there on Monday.

Oh, I hope all other girls from this batch are okay, Giggy! D: I hope AL/Noppin can do something about that.

Hmm, I hope they're able to help you out, Giggy. It's such a pity; but she's a beautiful girl otherwise. And so are all the other new girls on the thread! It's making me really excited for my own to get here! Congrats everyone!

The tracking has updated, so she has left the inward office of exchange. I'm really stoked! Hopefully she'll arrive soon.

 

So. Many. New. Unoas! We should throw a party! Can't wait to see how everyone's girls(and boys!) turn out. No idea when I have time to face-up mine, so the gal will most likely sit around in old clothes, faceless for a while ^^;

Though, mine was sent on Monday for some reason(why didn't they ship them all at the same time? z_z) and the tracking hasn't updated in few days. Poor girl's probably flying somewhere or in a pile of packages that hasn't reached the customs yet.

 

Hi Giggy - I'm not sure those are 'cracks'... If I recall correctly, when I put together my Unoa Sist kit several years ago, there were end-caps that attached to the tops of her thighs. They kind of snapped in and were supposed to be glued. I'm not sure why they're designed that way, but it does create a weird seam-line where the two parts meet. I'll see if I can find you a link with pics illustrating what I mean.

 

I know what parts you are talking about. I have several Unoa 1.5's and this is the first one that has anything like this, (Crack is on the end-cap facing upwards) I'm sure they are cracks because when I touch them my finger can feel the parts being different height. Actually what I'm thinking is that you don't see the crack I'm talking about... so maybe I change the picture where I've circled the spot.

I love seeing all the new dolls in this thread. Can't wait to get my own. Unfortunately my girl is stuck at customs.
Since I'm a newbie good news, that the Unoas come completely assembled. But awful to hear that Giggys doll arrived with cracks. Hopefully Noppin or AlchemicLabo will replace these parts for you.

 

Giggy - Other than the crack, hopefully your doll is ok. I am unsure what can be done about that. Ashbet several pages back suggested dropping the faceplate in boiling water to slightly soften it and then try once again to place it back on the head back (you may want to hunt down the post, it was in response to a new Sist decadent doing the same thing). There's been interesting suggestions for various form of Unoa, I need to attempt the hair dryer trick on ridiculous Unoa Zero joints at some point.

 

Ooooh, I see now! Sadness Yes, I hope you can get a replacement. No good at all.

 

Amanohara, thanks for the useful tips. I had a hard time with getting my sist default plate to 'click' as well, wound up sanding some points down.

thanks Snowfern the dress looks amazing! I'll check it out since tiny grabby hands here leave me hardly any time to take out the sewing machine for long periods of time. Also I did think sanding could work too on the faceplate, though my plates worked better on the newer Unoa than the older ones. I'll play around with them all soon and figure out for sure which face will go with what body before modifying anything

 

Wow Snowfern, your Saffron is such a delicate beauty and her dress is stunning. I envy your sewing skills.

 

Oh c'mon !!!! Why you make it to me ? I was resigned to make for her an brown alpaca buuuuuuuuut she's so lovely with her white wig. Idem for the eyes (Yep, they're brown but initially purple).

I hope this sets your mind at ease Giggy, but I also have that same mark on my doll, and I received her in 2012, unassembled. I was very careful assembling her.
I'm sure it's just part of the mold. ^_^

Got my girl this morning before I left for work. x3 I had to force myself not to rip the box open and leave the house. I was so excited to go home and open the package. I was regretting not getting her in fairy skin and getting fresh skin instead but not anymore! This color is so gorgeous

 

Mine has this too, but i can see that its superficial, and considering that a lot of parts of thebody need sending, that part does too. At least in my case, i believe it does not effect the quality of the doll
Its more like a seam, though without direct bright light looks almost like a crack

Gratz HerrLucifer!!! And Mylene!!! More more pics heee heee..I agree on the colour of freshskin...it's so beautiful and sometimes seems almost glowy to me...might be the lack of sleep affecting my vision though hahaha

Giggy, I went to check the ball cap on my doll to see if it had any similar markings, but as I had wet sanded any sharp seam/mold lines there was nothing there. So maybe it is a casting/flash line and not a crack since others have encountered it too? It does seem a curious occurence and perhaps limited to the casts coming out of that particular mold!

 

I'm sooo happy with my Sist! She's perfect and such a nice poser, I can't wait to paint her this weekend. Keep those Unoa pics coming!!

I finally got around to repainting Tiger, his first faceup was a temporary quicky when the weather was bad. I'm not patient, haha, I couldn't leave him blank. Anyway, this time, I got around to sanding off his eyebrows and I also sanded a little bit of his cheeks and chin to make him look sweeter, softer and a little lost. Now, I'm just waiting on his proper eyes. I never thought the B-El sculpt could look so sweet!

 

He's adorable, I love his brows.

Speaking of brows, is it me, or do the sculpted in eyebrows seem less defined than previous runs? I remember the Unoas I used to paint a few years ago had pretty beefy brows, like sanding them took quite a few minutes. They're so wispy now - not that I'm complaining, I was going to sand them anyway.

 

I was wondering that as well! I wasn't sure if it was my imagination or not.
And thank you!

 

Ahhh DenaliWind.....I know his eyes are temporary but it reminded me of David Bowie, &#9825; your faceup. Maybe it's just me, but I love the tentative look he seems to be expressing!

Lynessa, GlukozZa and Snowfern, I just received a message from Noppin (and an image of the parts when released from the casting molds) and it actually is a seam line that looks just like a crack. Just makes me wonder why my other dolls don't have that so maybe they changed the way they mold the part or something... anyway, I'm SOOO releived I worried for nothing! Now I can enjoy my girl so much more. ;_; Oh all these feels. *3* (And thank you Lynessa for the picture, I didn't see it before because I was sleeping. )

I just hope the AL site is accurate. Even if it's later in the year like Autumn or Winter that'll be fine! I don't remember it saying early summer before cause I was checking.

This means I'll probably re-shell my Sist boy in Fresh Skin. I was so excited to get him but I think I'd definitely much prefer him in Fresh Skin, espcially since there's a slight resin difference to his body and faceplate. Also thinking of getting a B-el then I have them all, but not sure about the funds. Denali Wind's Tiger has made me fall for the sculpt as well as morbidollz's and others on flickr.

 

OMG! New boys?! I waaaant! *3* Hey, I don't remember but did they make a Decadent L-bi faceplates? I really would like to have one of those in my army!
