AKAGIDOLL - 72 cm and 66 cm dolls

I bought a 66cm Ban head on a whim, and wow. I wasn't expecting a 66cm doll head to be bigger than my 74cm doll heads, but that's not why I feel compelled to post something. I am blown away by the detailing in the sculpt. Most heads are just faceplates with pleasant features. This head is actually sculpted, including muscles on the back of the neck and dimples begins the ears. It's beautiful.

 

I don't know if my search-fu is just supper weak today, but I'm having trouble finding a match for Akagi Doll white skin. Anyone know what other companies have a compatible white resin?

 

I ordered a Ban head in a GO and found out two others were ordered at the same time so we have triplets. One decided not to keep the head so I wound up with two - no regrets. So here they are my two of the triplets. Dagobert (Dag for short because ugh what a name) and Dylan the younger two of the triplets, Dylan being the youngest.
Dag likes the Crow and he also like to tease his younger brother.

I'm thinking heavily on getting a white skin 66cm Akagidoll body for my fresh skin Saint head.
I wonder if anyone can tell me if ordering from Jeeryama on ebay or Alice's Collections would arrive faster...

Also, I'm a bit mystified how I would attach the head of my Saint to this body with that strange metal thing inside the Saint head. I assume it can be done, since people seem to have done it...like @DarksStars and @HallowHawlk
If anyone can help me out, especially with pictures, I would be very grateful!

 

@PineRain it was a bit of a tight fit, but I just used the S hook that came with the body. It still work despite the metal part on the Saint head

 

@PineRain The metal part isn't a whole lot different than a regular cross cut for an s-hook, the cover piece just pops off and on. You don't need it if you are using an s-hook, just store it away in his box.

I'm sure I'll understand what you mean better when I get the body. (None of my other three dolls have the same big gaping hole for the neck as my Saint head). If all else fails, I hear a washer or resin donut works...

I ordered the body, and I'm excited for it to come.

 

Just ordered my Ban a body! Got him a 65cm Mirodoll body, I can't wait for it to come home so I can put him together!

 

FINALLY got around to giving my Ban head a faceup, and yes I know I'm a total amateur, but at that price who's worrying? I really like this big head on the impldoll idol girl body - it looks in scale and as you can see, Ban is gender-fluid! The newer Dollzone 1/3 wigs are a great fit for this head as they are super-stretchy compared to other wigs I've bought I like to have some hair over that head's right eye, as it is so obviously bigger than the other eye - but a wig seems to hide it just fine I think. The impldoll body is in pink but it's very pale compared to the other pink impldoll body next to it - the akagi head has a more yellowish tone to it, but I don't really notice the mismatch now I'm used to it.

Hi! So I've just ordered an Akagidoll Ban head WS and am planning to hybrid with a male Delf WS body, has anyone tried this? Or can anyone compare Akagidoll WS and Luts WS for me? I know the body is significantly shorter than the intended 66cm body but hopefully it works out ^^;;

I'm looking into getting an Akagidoll 66 body for a floating head I've got but I'm a little undecided on what version to get... Obviously they look a little different and it seems some measurements have changed.
So I'm wondering, is there a big difference in poseability between the v1 and the v2?

 

Would anyone happen to know if Akagidoll white matches Doll Legend white? It doesn't have to be spot-on... I'm thinking about getting my boy some jointed hands.

The hybrid worked out pretty well, as far as I can tell~



I knew the body was a little shorter than his intended size, but the proportions aren't tooo far off. He'll be getting a faceup soon~

I thought I got Akagi white Ban heads but they are pale pink to me and don't match the DL white, they are closer to the DL NP.

 

@SteamWitch - Ok, thank you. I imagine I'm going to have an interesting time blushing the white hands I so impatiently ordered now... XD

 

Does anyone happen to know if the white skin matches the white skin from miracledoll? some say the white skin from miracledoll looks like that from dollzone but i'm not sure

 

What does Akagidoll white skin look like?
I want one but I don't like having two dolls in the same color, I may also consider an hybrid.

 

It is a pale pale pinkish white. This is a white Ban head on a white Mirodoll body, as you can see the Ban head is slightly pink in comparison. I didn't blush his head near the neck.

Good to see it doesn't look too pale in pictures, I was told it was paper white, it actually looks a natural pale color.

 

It is interesting how different they look with different faceups. These are both WS Ban's, the hand is a NY older Illusion Spirit.

Yeah my Ban head is in WS and it's definitely not paper white- I compared it to my dollzone WS doll and the Akagi resin definitely has more yellow or pink color, and it's also just a bit darker than the WS Luts body I have it hybrided on.

 

My Ban, Dagobert (i.e. Dag) has a new faceup and I really like this one much better, though I stayed with the goth/crow look.

thank you SteamWitch I've only done a couple of faceups so the lips were nothing like I'd planned LOL - they just kept getting bigger and darker as I kept trying to perfect the outline Still I love her face - it is such a cute sculpt I think!

 

Im thinking of getting jointed hands for my Ban, whom I'm in the middle of working on. I'm thinking of getting the 66cm Version 2 body and despite all my searches I can't seem to find the actual measurement for the wrist joint. Does anyone know? Or have this body? Cause I'd really love to get the Doll Legend jointed hands since I want long nails, but I'm not sure if I should do the 1/3 male hands or the 70cm male hands... If anyone can answer this question I'd greatly appreciate it D:

 

Does the 66cm body fit 70cm clothing? Or are they too big. I was comparing the measurements to a Super Gem which can fit 70cm. I just wanted to see if they can indeed fit or if I need to go smaller.

For akagi boy 66cm you will need to search for sd17 clothes size for them. 70cm will be too big.

I just got an Akagidoll Ban head not to long ago and I am looking to hybrid him. Color matching doesn't matter, but I want a 70 cm body that he would look good on proportionally. Any suggestions?

 

I ordered an Akagi 66 cm doll back in August from Clover Singing in WS and am still waiting. Akagi does not seem to be all that popular so am surprized it is taking so long to fill my order. I wish I had just waited for a used body to show up on the MP, but not many WS bodies are around and that is what I need to match some floating heads I have.

 

The 68 Mirodoll body in white looks good with the Ban head. This is was my hybrid. It would probably look better on the newer 70cm.

that does seem a long time to wait! There's no Akagi waiting room on DoA either, so no way of knowing what's typical waiting time. Have you messaged ... Jeeryama is it? She's 'doll singing' though - is that the same dealer?

 

No Clover Singing is a different dealer. They did state it would take about 4 months to fill the order on their web page. I contacted Christina the owner and she said the company told her November or December. Well, now December is almost over so I will contact her again come January.

 

oh I've not heard of that dealer - I can't find feedback on the forum either. Jeeryama has their own line of products called Clover-yama, and they call their shop Doll's Singing, which is why I got mixed up with the name. Hope you get some joy from your dealer soon!

I did find Akagi Doll on facebook though - maybe put a query on there about your dealer? Might be the push they need to get it sorted out for you AKAGI DOLL | Facebook

 

I'm pretty sure that Clover Singing is the off-Ebay shop of Jeeryama (Christina) whose Ebay store is Doll's Singing. They're quite a reputable dealer, so that's most likely 'just' the company taking extra long for whatever reason, which is never pleasant :/

And that particular Akagi Doll facebook page is actually a Fan page maintained by another dealer (EdenDoll), so I'm not sure they'd be able to help you about your order. I'm sorry you have to go through this but hey, at least you don't have to deal with the Christmas shipping madness, I guess :/

You usually get free (but slow) shipping from Clover Singing instead of eBay.

 

Thanks everyone for clarifying this for me. I feel a lot better about this knowing this is a Jeeryama associated company. Christina has always been great about getting back to me, but is was really making me nervous that the clover singing web site is down more than it is working. Oh well, at least I will eventually get the body. Who knows what my doll plans will be at that point, but I am sure I will be able to use it if I like it.

 

Still waiting for my 66 cm Akagi boy body. Wondering if anyone happens to have one in WS that they can compare to Ringdoll WS?

 

I have a Ringdoll Dracula Awakening head in NS on a 66 cm WS Akagidoll body, which is a near perfect match. (Note the backside of his head in comparison the the body)

Seconding the wait time here, I ordered a 66cm body through Angelesque in mid-July, meaning she ordered from them end of July... still waiting with no news

 

Does anybody know if 1/3 size pants would fit on a 66cm version 2 akagi boy body? I want to order a Yair from acbjd while the sale is on and based on the store's measurements they SHOULD fit, but I really want to make sure before ordering. I'm thinking about getting shorts so length isn't a huge deal; I'm more concerned about the waist/hips. If somebody has an akagi v. 2 body could you let me know if 1/3 pants fit? It would really help me out!

i got a Ban head in NS skin but i want a smaller body for him, since he should be one of my smaller sd boys (he's based on a japanese vocalist who is just 1,55m tall >D) and the Akagi body is thin and tall >D
so which smaller SD body does fit skintone wise? should be 80%-90% close if possible =3

I've got the type 2 body, and the 3 pairs of pants that I've purchased (not from Alice, though) that were labeled for 1/3 size, all fit fine around the hips. They are all a little too short for him, though, length-wise; but if you do end up buying shorts, then, yeah, length shouldn't be a big problem. For reference, measuring two of the pants I have, they are both about 12 cm when measured flat (so about 24 cm for the hips).

 

Ah, thank you so much!! I just ordered him and the clothes and I'm glad to hear that the pants fit. Hopefully Alice sizing is the same as other retailers! (He's my first BJD so I can't just give them to a different doll if they don't fit)

 

No problem! And judging from Alice's 24-26cm size for the waist on the 1/3 sizes, I think they should be okay! Also, congrats on your first BJD! I really love the version 2 body, it poses very nicely, and looks great! (And though I don't use the Yusri Akagidoll head on it, the head is also very nicely sculpted) I hope you enjoy him when you receive him!

 

Hi guys! I'm gonna pop in here because I recently fell in love with You Yue for one of my characters (an eternally sleepy zombie witch boy), and would love to see pictures if anyone has them! Akagi doesn't seem to be that popular, but their dolls are so pretty! I really like the 66cm Version II body too, which is cool because I'm normally super picky about bodies. The current event is really tempting me... I'm a little skittish about the wait times though. Has anyone ordered from Akagi through Alice's Collections? So many questions! I just found this company and really like it. :P

 

@KiyoshiSenshi I ordered the 66cm Yusri from Alice's Collections on August 31st and it was shipped on November 27th, so roughly 3 months.

I also really love the body! I love the way his arms move and hold poses. When I received him, There was also a set of silicon kips in his shoulders! Also, I did tighten the stringing on mine, as he was a bit too loose for my tastes.

Here's a partial photo of the body. Of course, it's a different head (Ringdoll Dracula Awakening) and different hands (Doll Family H in pink). The detailing (especially the nails!) for the Akagidoll hands are lovely, but were too big for my tastes when paired with the smaller Ringdoll head, so I swapped them out.
