AKAGIDOLL - 72 cm and 66 cm dolls

DarksStars, which hand size did you buy? I'm trying to find jointed hands for my 66cm body, but I fear 70cm hands are going to be too big.

 

Not sure if it helps but I thought I'll throw in the fact that my Akagidoll wears Little Monica heads (the large ones) and my Little Monica body uses Soom Super Gem jointed hands, so I'm pretty sure jointed hands for 70cm would be a bit big.

Woah, sorry! I didn't see this for a while, I bought the 1/3 hands. Mostly because I have a Dollshe Saint head on the body and that head is quite small compared to the Akagi head, so the hands are in scale with it.

I think that the 70cm hands would be more in scale with the big AkagiDoll heads, but I don't know how the wrist joint would work, because on the 1/3 hands the ball is a tad big for the small wrist

Hello everyone, the other day I received my Akagidoll 66cm boy body ver. 1. I'll post some pictures once I get to it, but I'm very pleased with the overall proportions!
I wasn't sure what to expect, but it's lovely. I was wondering whether or not others were happy with the posing and sizing. I'm a bit of a newbie, so I have very little to compare it to. Any information would be great!

So, I got my Yursi head back from a friend who wanted to do a faceup on him for fun and I am completly taken by him! I had no intention to keep that head at first but it looks like he's here to stay now.

I was wondering if anybody had put any of the 1/3 heads on a resinsoul body? I'm looking at cheap options to put that head on

 

I put the 66 cm Ban head on a Mirodoll 68cm body. It worked really well, it was a great fit. The body was pretty cheap too.

 

Oh yeah, I did look into the Mirodoll bodies too! I find them a bit too muscular for what I had in mind though, but it's true that their price is really tempting haha

 

hi there~ I just finished my layaway for a 66cm body~ I was looking into 70cm clothes, but I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions or is this size pretty good for these guys? thanks!!

 

Mine wears SD17 tops and SD13 bottoms. I find that their torsos are a bit longer than expected. I have a photo here, where the Akagidoll body is on the left most, compared to the rest of the dolls, and you can see how his torso and legs compare.

66cm Body, skinny abit, and i need to find for SD 17 boy clothes for him, however, i also need to modify it because this boy body is kinda skinny than standard SD17.
well i still love this boy still.
the sculpt is heavy thought, comparing my friend is having Popo doll boy comparing with mine. although mine is skinny, but heavier than hers!

i also get my Akagi doll via layaway from a dealer in China directly. i get from Dealer is because dealer offers some packages which including free gifts. and the pricing is same with i get from Akagi directly.

Where is your location? I am in Malaysia so actually there is a dealer in Malaysia for akagi doll.
My layaway is 3 months each month RMB 500. That price is RMB1580 and I used 3months to complete it.

 

Mint on Card and Jeeryama(on ebay) are two sellers that carry AkagiDoll and accept layaway.

The match is not perfect since the body is several years old now, and has yellowed (hence the scarf), but I imagine a newer Volks body would be a better match.

Hijinx was bought on impulse and I have no other Akagi dolls in my collection, so I wasn't really sure what to expect. I'm delighted with her, and I like the density of her resin -- really solid! And her schnoz! I'm in love with it.

 

hi, newbie here been drooling at some of the akagi heads, especially Yusri and Yair! It's especially tempting since there's a discount going on right now. But I'll just invest in a 66cm akagi type 2 body first, since i'm already buying a Leekeworld head (couldn't resist). Hope to get an akagi head soon! And maybe wait for more sculpts to be released.

 

I didn't see an Akagidoll waiting room, so I will announce that part of my tax refund just went to a white skin 66cm Yuheng, purchased through Jeeryama on eBay. Part of the attraction was the fairly thick neck...I have a hybrid in mind. Yuheng looks pretty androgynous, so I never know what character will reveal itself when the doll arrives. Thanks to all those who supplied photos and comments on the previous pages of this thread, I'm pretty confident that I will be happy with this doll. When he arrives in a month or so it will be blinding hot summer, but I will try to take photos on an overcast day.

Aaaand he's finally here! The doll arrived in the flimsy blue foil box with the great padded case, so I guess that is standard. ID certificate, but no eyes included. The white resin is darker than Soom cream white, more like a pale normal than the pinky white that is the WS for some other companies. He's stung well, stands fine. If you're thinking of hybriding with this body, be sure to check the neck circumference, he's got a sturdy neck.

 

well FINALLY I have found a body for my Ban head I bought about 100 years ago! I forgot I had it in fact - has lain in the wig box for so long. It is a BIG head, but I thought I'd just try it on my AoD boy body, and yes it is a bit big, and not a perfect match for AoD 'pink', but I really like it I think? Looks like a younger boy as the head is so big and Ban is a very young looking sculpt. Only thing I don't like on the AoD body is the short legs, but it's perfect for an immature boy - and a great price (from Alices Collections - full doll Kim bought last year)

Hey all, I'm curious if anyone knows resin matches for their white skin? I know Granado fits with the normal skin and Luts too right? I'd prefer to get him in white though.

EDIT: Just ended up buying the normal skin because I have the Granado body and I'm too cheap to get a new body. Granado still matches right? Gonna be a buff dude with a baby face xD

 

Now got my Ban head, which I love dearly in spite of the odd sized eyes, on an impldoll idol girl body! The size is perfect I think, although the fit isn't exact as the neck is a bit too big - but mobility is very good anyway. Resin match is also not great with impldoll pink - I think maybe normal 'real' skin would be better? I prefer pink dolls though to yellow ones, so I got pink anyway, and it's barely noticeable in artificial light, although here in daylight you can see a difference.

Anyone know if Tanta-head would fit well with the smaller 66 cm body? I don't want him to be too tall, but it is hard to find answers to these kind of questions. Or if there are any bodies that are 65-68 cm that would work.

 

I'm very tempted to order a Janz/Jiangli. I've been looking at him for months and there's even an event now.
No one seem to own one though and i'd really like to see more pics before deciding...

Can someone tell me about the skin tone? I usually go for normal but i'm not sure this time, you say the white is actually light pink?

 

White is very very white, it doesn't looks that way in the company pictures but it doesn't have any undertones.

How is the normal? I read here that it changes color

Since I wasn't getting an answer I tried contacting jeeriyama on eBay but they only said it's made to match Volks.
I'm not sure about that because I already have a doll like that, a Luts/Classydoll hybrid. Do you know if the normal is the same as Luts?

I was perusing SC today and happened upon the head and fell in love hehe. I wasn't planning a new doll, but now I've got one! I found a pic on Flickr that has a ban head on a Mirodoll body, and it looks like a good match colourwise, so I think I might end up with a Mirodoll body. Now to debate if I want a boy who is the same height as my girl or taller.
As for the character, it just popped into my head on my bus ride home today!

The head fits perfectly without the neck donut/ neck protector. Skin match is like 85% but i don't care much about that =w=

My Ban head has shipped I am really excited for him to come home. Then it is just a matter of getting a body, and then clothing. It is going to be entertaining, up until now I've only had girls, and one boy tiny who doesn't change outfit.

 

I know the feeling, I haven't had an SD size in over 3 years...having been in this hobby for 6!! I think it's going to take me a bit of time before I can get a body in, we will just have to see!

 

I am lucky, my Ban head should be here next week He's gonna be bald and body-less for a while, but that's okay lol.

Hello there. Recently I bought just head (Ban), because it was in a sale and now I am also thinking about buying a body from this compeny. Ban is irl sooo beautiful...I am speechless how amazing he is. Now I am trying face up for the first time....but still I can say that Akagi's Ban is really amazing sculpt :-)

 

My ban has arrived too~ His sculpt is just sooo beautiful, it's those lips that do it for me hehe!
Hopefully should be ordering a body in early September for him and also try my hand at doing his faceup~ progression pictures to come shortly.

 

I just noticed on Alice's Collections that Akagidoll are doing 47cm versions of their 66cm dolls. Is this new? I don't remember ever seeing them before and there doesn't seem to tbe a thread in the mini-dolls section.

The MSD version had been around on taobao since last year. I don't remember when Akagidoll did that exactly but my friend's Yusri came home at 11 june, 2014. Akagidoll didn't take any photos of the MSDs and just use the SDs version's photos. Don't know why AC didn't put them on their website till now.

 

Yeah, I was really confused when I saw the photos, but the new 47cm body was there as well so I guess they are just making the same heads for it in smaller size.

 

Glad to see there's finally a functioning threat for Akagidoll...i've had Aubrey (my Akagidoll tanta) for 2.5 years now!

Although STILL without faceup *total fail* I'm still loving my (huge) Ban head on the new 70cm impldoll idol girl body - the body is a very pale 'pink' (more like the super pale dollzone 'pink' from 2013) so the head doesn't match obviously, as akagi 'normal' is more of a yellowy pink (perfect match for my impldoll boy from 2013, which has faded in pinkness and yellowed) but it's a difference I can live with - I just love the Ban face, odd sized eyewells being un-noticeable if a wig with bangs/fringe covers the outer edge of each eye. Such a cute nose and mouth though ^_^

Also. has anyone tried putting their ban head on a 60(ish)cm girl body~~? Or can show me a picture of one of the SD heads on a shorter girl body for reference??? My only concern is the neck width! I've never done a hybrid before!
