I ordered some lavender ones with sparkles, but they frequently look different in person.

 

@Reinameron - Love the eyes Sylvester is wearing! I can't decide if they look like mosaic or flowers. I don't imagine he'll be too happy giving them up for Terre.

I think I will make a new pair of eyes for him. May be not with flowers. I have to think about this) one the one hand I am glad I am eyesmaking master, on other - it is so hard now to understand what eyes I need for every my doll )

 

You are so lucky to be able to make them. Custom eyes can be very expensive otherwise.

 

Now I am officially waiting for pico Lapis)
And I hope Terre would be shipped soon, as promised.
Another try to make eyes for Sylvester.. but I think he needs lighter color and more shiny efects

@Bubble Gum Goth I love how Minnows sister eye turned out, she looks so sweet! And Minnow looks just glad to have her little sister with him!

Sylvester needs to have new make up, his defaul is chipping off with bubbles, after three years of long life and I am very nervous about it, cause this dragon is one of my favorite model for eyes demonstration on photos and local partys.

Aww! They are absolutely adorable~ I've been wanting a Cedric for ages and loooove seeing pictures of him, and both of your little cyclopses are just precious!

They look so good together! The colors are really complementary, and they're both so cute~

I'm not sure if I've ever posted in this thread before, but like I said, I'm obsessed with Cedric! I hope to get one one day, but for now I love seeing everyone's cyclopses and dragons!

Thank you! I still think I opened my little girls eye too big, but maybe I'll put her on a larger body, we'll see. I LOVE my little cyclops. I keep hoping they'll put out more of them and more monster babies. Maybe a three eye'd doll, or a Siamese twins baby. I love seeing the dragons too, they're just precious.

My Lapis finally got some colour after spending almost 4 years as parts in a box.
I spend yesterday evening sanding and dying him and today my rusty face up skills were put to the test. And they were very rusty xp... His yellow skin is exactly the way I wanted him, nice warm and bright.

The overall colour scheme I like, though I'm thinking to soften the eyes with brown eyeliner and the blush on the belly needs to be a lighter colour and focused more to the bottom of the belly, it's to high at the moment.
I'm doubting if the horns should stay transparent or if I like them to be solid.

Anyone got some thoughts for me about the colours?

 

@Tinka Treasure - I love the color combination you chose. What did you use to dye him? The color looks very even throughout. I agree about the belly blush--it should be lower and lighter. Otherwise it looks a bit like sunburn. I don't think I would soften the eyeliner. You want the eyes to stand out a little and the black does that.

 

@vermont chick ... Thank you! He is dyed with Dylon powder, so he has 1 spot where the powder wasn't desolved properly.
I snapped some w.i.p. pictures, I was thinking of making little overview of the process.

 

I wish you would post WIP photos, either in Project Journals or one of the other workshop categories. I'm not familiar with Dylon powder so I'd love to see the process.

Hey guys! It's been awhile. I adore my two cyclops' Minnow and Cassiopia, and I was able to obtain another one with the sleepy eye off the secondary market. I modded Cassie's eye open and since that time thought it would be nice to get one with the sleepy eye and leave it sleepy. I have modded the flat part off though. I didn't like that straight area in the middle of the upper lid. I have to do a face up yet. Minnow has blue with spots and Cassie has pink with spots, what do you think my new girl should have? She's adorable btw. I can't wait to show her to you. You know...after her face up.

 

And here is Minnow in the middle. I adore the little cyclops so much. I wish they would put out some more baby monsters. A siamese twin would amazing!

 

@Bubble Gum Goth I guess you will end up going for another colour with spots (purple would be nice for a girl, but if you don't want it too close to pink... orange?), I cannot wait to see the mod on the new girl and the triplets, they will look adorable together!

@Tinka Treasure OMG what a lovely shade of yellow! Your Lapis is really original! I really like how the horns look with the current colour, it makes them appear greenish. Have you named him yet?

 

Is anyone else intrigued by Vera, the griffon due to be released May 28th? I wish the entire body were the same color. I'm not fond of the mostly white body with green hindquarters. Maybe they'll sell her unpainted, too?

 

They've released more pictures of Vera, and I have to say she's very cute! @vermont chick I also prefer it if she was all white, I sent a message on their Q&A and I'll let you know what they say

I loved that make up too, she looks so gentle and sweet. I'd personally prefer if the whole body was done in white resin instead of the white/light green combination. Let's see what they say

 

The blue and white version is pretty, but again, would look better without the green hindquarters. I hope they answer your question @LunarWolf .

Sorry, this time whole body in white resin is not released.

We want characterize each character with a different color.
The Griffon series will have different colors for each character like the Dragon series.
It will be a white on the face and front, and a different color on the hind legs.

I love her with make up B but not how it combines with the green hindquarters. Maybe I can order her without make up and send her to a face up artist. I've never done it before and it honestly makes me nervous

 

It sounds like there will be future releases with different bodies, so waiting for one you like is an option.

 

Totally agree with how the makeup combines (or clashes) with the green hindquarters. I don't know that a different makeup would help, as the hindquarters would still be green. Like @nancy_schroeder_ca says, maybe waiting for another color body would work better. If there is to be a series, I would imagine they will all be available for purchase at any time so if you decided later that you really like this one after all, you could still get her.

I wouldn't worry about sending her to a face-up artist. There are many fabulous artists out there. So long as you pack the doll well and insure the package you should be okay. Personally, I would consider getting one of Vera's existing makeups and having the hindquarters spray painted white--or maybe a color that coordinates with the makeup. I see they've painted a bit of green in the feathers to try to unify the two parts of the body, but I still find the green hindquarters jarring.

 

I will definitely think about it, it's a good thing she's basic. Will you get Vera?

I might be able to accept the green hindquarters but ask the face up artist to use colors that match better with them. I'll think about it for now, I was waiting for the new version of the dragons but this little griffon is very cute.

Thinking about it, but like you I was waiting for the new version of the dragons. I can picture my Real Pukis riding on her, however, and that's a real draw. The trouble is, that money was earmarked for a different doll. Isn't that always the way? I'm even beginning to be reconciled to the green hindquarters.

 

Real Pukis riding on her would be very cute, it gets dangerous when you start picturing all the things you can do with a doll. I'm also struggling, there are so many dolls that are catching my attention, where is that Money Tree?

Here is a RP riding a dragon. And because Vera is Dragon sized I would say yes, she will be "rideable" too. ARG Now I am even more impatient for her T-T I can't wait to try to do lots of things with her (how cool would be if we could do some sort of saddle so Picos could ride her too!!!)

 

You are evil, @Sakura_LH ! And why did I never think of having one of my RP ride my Lapis? Especially as I did a multi-chapter photostory of one of my RPs hunting for dragons. He found my baby Ashes, though, who was too small to ride.

And yes, I have been envisioning making some sort of saddle for Vera, too. No no no no no! I will NOT stalk Aileen's website tonight waiting for orders to open. But Vera would be such a cute addition to my small collection of critters...

Yep, that is one of mine eyes for etsy. But I want to create something special for this little beautiful dragon, and for my Ricota Sheldon too and thinking about design.
Idea for Loretta's eyes: holo pupil, small ammount of mica and some dry flowers, may be, like I did for Terre, who is waiting for blushing. Seed will get a new pair soon to, with mica and big black pupil.. and I have no idea for Ricota and his colors.

I was thinking about it, green butt and all, but I have dolls I actually need to get and probably shouldn't keep falling for impulse ones... I do hope to see some around here, though. I want to see what people do with that green butt, blushing-wise.

 

I succumbed to an impulse buy at Raccoon Doll, so now I really have to keep my fingers off the buy button. I, too, hope someone orders Vera so we can see how she turns out.

I won't be able to get Vera right now but she's definitely on my wish list, hopefully I can order her by the end of the year. On the other hand I just bought a Dragon Rot Snow on the second hand market! I have big plans for him so couldn't pass up the opportunity to get him
