Aileen Doll Tiny discussion part 1

My Lapis and Ashes have just been shipped and now this... I wonder if the wings are strung to his back like they do it with the dragons? That would make them not really removable...

 

I just got my Ashes dragon last week, and I think these tinies have a lot of potential! I do hope they polymorph Ashes as well

 

I have been considering ordering a Lapis dragon, does anyone else have any of their dragons and are they as cute as they look in their pictures? I have never ordered from Aileen doll before. I have heard a lot of negative feedback about them so thought I'd ask in here of people's opinions of their dolls in general, and of their dragons specifically. Thanks in advance

As far as customer service, the negative reviews worried me too, but I got my doll in a little over two weeks, got a tracking number in email, then got another email today to make sure I received him. I would consider ordering from them again.

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat? They're off topic? Seriously? Is there anywhere else that allows discussion of them? I really wanted to learn more about the dragons, and since DoA isn't going to offer the resources any place else would be very helpful.

Just to be clear...it is the actual dragons that are off topic, not the new polymorph tinies.

I never had any problems with AD at all... I own all four dragons and I am super happy with all of them I'm sure my Seed would love a human version of him

Also, do you guys know if Aileen Doll can do Layaway?

I hope to own a seed dragon one day as i dont own any of them myself..maybe i can get the EGG/seed combo next year for their vday event.

For those worrying about the bad feedback, they had some problems with the blushing of the first batches of dragons (experienced this first hand), since they weren't properly sealed or so. But I've checked myself and my friend latest dragon was fine.

I also ordered a [limited] Celebration SEED recently and have tried to find some image of the cutie-preety USD girl body she will come with, but could not find anything. Does anyone know if there is somewhere to see it? Thanks.

 

Misato-swan: I also ordered her, but I don't think they ever put the pictures up. Since they're going to start releasing a basic line, they'll probably use the same body for those dolls, so maybe pictures will be up soon.

 

Hey guys! My partner fell in love with one of the new kitties, and I was wondering if anyone knows if Aileen Doll does layaway. I can't find anything about it on their website, so I don't have high hopes, lol.

 

I asked once and they say that they don't accept layaway.

 

Glad to know you ordered this lovely cutie too, FrigidDamsel. When I read about the upcoming release of their new basic Tiny dolls I also thought they would use with them the same body type she has and that they would show it through photos of this new basic tiny line. If we both are right, hopefully pictures will be indeed up soon.

are the dragons still offtopic? I don't see why they would be, there have been a lot of dolls released lately that don't have the "proper" joint structure that are posted on DOA

 

I think they still are off-topic because of the lack of knee joints (or whatever). You can buy/sell them in the Marketplace now, though, under Accessories as a companion animal.

Question: What is the current wait time for AileenDoll? I ordered a dragon back in December and just want to know when they might get around to shipping her. I ordered her plain, no face-up.

 

It is a real pity that the Baby Dragons are not on topic. Anyhow, did you know Aileendoll is releasing a brand new line? I was so taken by surprise, do you think it may be a tiny too?



BTW I haven't seen many photos of Aileen Doll kids! So please post some spam! I'd also love to know more about them compared to other tinies! Resin matches anyone?

I'm going to answer my own question by saying two months. Two months was my wait time for an order placed in December (in case it will help anyone else). And I did ask about it in the Q&A, very friendly responses (albeit a touch vague).

Ooo, a new line! I'm thinking MSD by the looks of the photo, but it may be a small MSD, large Tiny....

The blond one looks more grown up, but the Redhead looks tinysized to me. They are both adorable T^T

 

*soft squeal* The new dolls Aileen Doll just put out have me flailing. Camellia is so adorable, but Licorice really gets me. The skeleton parts are perfect for a character I want to do.

 

Does anyone know if it's normal for the event gift to be sold out on the first day? It's sold out (the devil kitty) and I tried to include it on my order (Camellia) and couldn't, is it normal because it's the first day? Or are they really sold out?

 

They are probably sold out because you can not put them in your chart, they just put there so you could see them! They will add your event gift if you qualify for it?

Just wondering, I'll probably ask to the Q&A tonight if you want I can ask for this!

 

Thank you! I just asked. I was afraid because some companies require that you add the event gift to your order so if you doesn't do it you don't receive gift.

 

Licorice is a true success, I like it ! Chasy the cat is too sweety for her

 

Now that I have already ordered my little princesses and I will be able to sleep not worrying too much about those "50 unit each limited" I feel sooooo excited!!!

Aileendoll has really taken me this time! Licorice was original but Cyclops? OMG and they look creepily and weirdly cute! I'd never said I'd like a cycliops BJD! I am like a 100% in love with Camelia/Cedric facemold (if you look closely, they are the same) and I do hope Aileendoll follows this line as they are so cute. Mature and childish at the same time *squeals*.

Also have you noticed the new bodies? Cedric and Camelia are not wearing their previous tiny bodies. The torso is different (slimmer in the waist for the girl), the thigh joint has changed and... DOUBLE JOINTED ARMS! YAY!!! And, ahem I guess everyone has noticed Licorice's... pair of... you know.

Be-Life have you gotten your girl? And ladygabe what about you, are you getting Licorice?

Anyone done a layaway with them before? I was reading their layaway terms and it says there is a 35% surcharge for layaway ... It is really a surcharge or did Aileen just mean to say 35% deposit instead? I asked them on the question board but they are already gone for the day.....

From what I understand it is the initial deposit you have to pay. I plan on asking them tomorrow as their terms on layaway are quite loose and some things are not clear (how many payments can be done, just two or more?, also the initial deposit is 35% or can be more or less?) (Are you Rebeca? Because it is only my message an another one not replied! (and one about the dragon body))

Ok everyone freeze! I am going to write a long and detailed e-mail to Aileendoll about their layaway with all the questions we have (if you have one and are wondering about it please let me know!). I think it will be better with one mail than many. These are the questions I am going to ask:

1. Is the 35% a desposit or a surcharge
2. How many payments should be done
3. If there is the need of writing something as a payment (like layaway payment 1 or 2)

Kk so I heard back from them.... The 35% is not a surcharge .... It's the amount of the layaway you have to have paid up before they start making your order. You can schedule your own payment amounts. That's all I was able to gather from them ... Oh and you can only do 2 months. But I didn't understand how many payments in all you could make.

 

Yaaaay! Great news, I was counting on them for the surcharge thing. I was sure they meant deposit instead!

Who could be expecting it? They say the eye size on the website, let me check! Human head is 12mm and Cyclops head is 20mm. Isn't it nice they are adding an Urethane eye for the cyclops? Saves you from getting two eyes and using only one!

I hadn't checked on the scyte yet and they have a nice picture of Camelia in another outfit. She looks sooo sweet!

 

Camelia is so freaking adorable. As cool as the cyclops are, I love her elf-head the best.

 

I couldn't resist to make a mockup of the cyclop head with smaller eyes and a more natural faceup. I think that it's a lot more sweet in that way. I cannot wait to have mine at home =3!!!

Eye size says 20mm on the website. (Someone asked)

I just ordered Cedric with no faceup. I could not resist that adorable little cyclops. I haven't been this excited about a doll in a long time. I was so lucky I had the funds to get this one! and I'm happy to have read that they've started taking layaways. If they're going to be putting out more of this monster cuteness I will be utilizing it in the future.

Has anyone ordered from them before? Does it take less time to get the dolls that have no faceup? (hoping)

 

About the cyclop eye... a friend asked about the detailed size of it because we see that it doesn't have normal globe/iris proportion (seems that the white part is really small compared with the iris). They confirmed us that the globe is 20mm BUT the iris is 13mm. This iris will correspond to a normal 26mm eye (the normal for a 20mm eye is 10mm iris). So have this in mind if you plan to buy other eye for your cyclop as I want to do.
In my opinion the default eye has the iris too big, but I don't know if a normal 20mm eyes will be too small...

 

I have a tax refund coming and I am seriously considering the female cyclops. I showed my mother and she was not impressed. If I got her, I'd have to keep her upstairs and hidden, haha. (It's my house though, so I don't think she'd put up MUCH of a fight if I wanted her in the living room!)

 

Oh my goodness! That is a bit confusing as I'm not use to such big eyes. So are you saying a 26mm eye wouldn't fit globewise, but a normal 20mm the iris would be too small? Am I reading that right? I have some 20mm eyes at home so when I get my little cyclops I'll check to see how they look. I'm glad I didn't order another eye! I almost did as I ordered his wig and clothes I was so excited. I was excited about the eye size too as there seems to be more high end variety with that size, but until I'm less confused about this I will wait until I get him.
