Resin Comparison AiL Alice in Labyrinth Resin Match

I would like to know as well about any other ws matches. FCS white skin bodies are expensive and I have sold my Alice but I am getting another and I want to put her on a less mature body. Has anyone tried a white skin Switch body? Or an Aria doll body?

 

I really like the Elijah sculpt, but I am not sure what kind of body I would want to put it on. Would Elijah fit a Dollstown 18 year male body, or would that be far too large for him?

 

It might be too large. Elijah's head isn't all that big...mine was on an SD13 (boy, I meant to say boy) body and looked fine. I've seen them on DT15 and they look pretty proportionate, and I thought the 18yr was...well, huge.

Speaking of...my Elijah is now a girl, and I need a new body for her. Anyone have one on a Soom Super Gem body? Or something similar? I have WS but I don't really care about a resin match.

I've got my Elijah on a 63cm Popodoll body and the proportions are really great! :3 I can take a picture for you tomorrow, if you want.

Volks FCS white bodies are a really good match for ws AiL. You could go with the SD-girl body

Here is my Elijah WS on a popodoll63cm body in WS . I must say, the match is really good (the body is new, and the previous owner of my Elijah told me he was kept in a box the whole time she had him^^)
He might be slightly bobble-headed, but I think the proportions are great.. (My Elijah has a child-like personnality, so it's okay for me I guess XD) Maybe the Popodoll 68cm body would be good to! :3

That does look gorgeous! And very useful since apparently these heads are hard to find nicely-proportioned bodies for. Anyone have any idea about Angelheim WS?

 

Still looking for a girl body for my Elijah. I pull her head out every once in awhile lol she's so pretty!!
I'm really looking for something on the tall side, 63-65 cm and curvy. Meaning bigger breasts (if possible - somehow all my girls are less endowed than the usual BJD lol so it's not a huge deal). Mine is WS. Normally resin match isn't a problem but since I already jumped the gun and gave her a faceup (and don't want to redo it), close is better.

I'm not a huge fan of Iplehouse but they do have some nice curvy girls...I wonder if an SID body would work? Or Soom SG? Or Feeple65 (though that's pushing it as far as price goes lol). Dollzone? Don't they have a taller body?

 

does resinsoul/bobobie normal skin match? or fdoll palle normal/normal?

Pretty please could people give me some advice as researching has left me a little overwhelmed.
I've seen the dollfamily body mentioned but not which size 58cm or 60cm? And is it DollFamily H or A?

Also does anyone think the Dragon Dolls Second Generation 58cm girl body would work?

I'm considering getting an AIL SD Alice or Bertram head, but can't afford a Volks body. I'd prefer a small busted female or gender neutral body but would also consider less defined males.

I do like the LUTS SDF Girl body type1, although it isn't as cheap as Dragondoll. Is there a UK distributor doing them in whiteskin, and would the neck be slim enough?

Any body that is sold by a UK distributor is preferable.

Right, i've found a body i like but don't know if it is likely to fit a AIL SD head. Please can someone give me some advice as to whether the newer DikaDoll 1/3 (58cm) double jointed girl body would fit? Also i'd like to order the AIL head in white skin so does anyone know if DikaDoll's Pure white skin or Normal white skin would be a better match? Comparison pics would be awesome.

Does ail white work better with dollstown paleskin or fresh skin? Help I don't want to order wrong color body ;__;

 

May be it will be helpful. Elijah 2014 head+ Lutd Delf 2014 body (both normal skin). Colour mathes great but resin has different surface. Head is like porcelain, body more glance. Probably couple layers of MSC will minor this difference.

I just got an AiL head a few days ago and I can confirm that the only resin it appears to match from the various dolls I have is a 4 year old Spiritdoll Elegance body in NS. So for what it's worth, that might be a good avenue.

 

@vermaxen The new Ail NS resin does seem to have slightly different colour compared to the old NS (which was more yellow in tone). I ordered an AIL head in NS earlier this year and the head also seemed to match Spiritdoll NS the best.

Howdy! Does anyone know what AiL white skin matches? I was thinking of getting a Jane head but I don't know if I should just buy her with a body from the site or find a more possible alternative. thank u :')

 

I might be wrong to assume because the conversation I've had with them was about sizing (neck etc.) and I don't want to pester them further, considering I might not make an order in the end. But they pretty much told me you can stick the heads on Volks SD bodies although they strongly recommend their own. I'm not sure if this implies the respective colors will match, and other posts in this thread seem to show that at least their NS is its own thing?
If only they had a more mature, double-jointed body I'd just get a full doll just to avoid these headaches.
My hope is that I can use a Dollstown body or Dream Valley but I can't find direct comparison pictures. I have to gamble on this idea that Volks colors will match, but I'm not really that sure about that.

@lutke What AIL head are you interested in? It can be tricky sometimes trying to find a body for a head that will match both when it comes to proportions AND resin colour. I recommend getting the head first- and once the head is home and you know for sure what the resin colour is like, then start to hunt for a body

 

@Lotte Rotten 1/3 Jane, but I'm not sure about hybridizing for the time being. I think getting a floating head first and then taking care of the body is the most sensible way to go as well, but I wouldn't want to end up with just a floating head if the couple bodies I'm aiming for aren't fitting due to resin color or proportions. I'll put this off until next year.

 

@lutke Jane is a lovely sculpt- I used to own an AIL Jane ((but I sold her when I was in need of $$$ a few years ago)). Jane will fit most 60'ish cm bodies. Here's a photos of the Jane that I used to own

 

@Lotte Rotten That's an amazing faceup. I'm not entirely sure about AiL but I feel it's more because I don't wanna get into the pains of hybridizing yet.
One solution would be to get my Maskcat Lisette as planned, and also the AiL head. If it matches the WS, I can just order another WS body from Maskcat. If it doesn't, at least I have a frame of reference.
I'd have the same body for all 3 dolls but I can live with it. I really wanted at least one different body for different types of clothes (ideally a slightly taller sculpt) but I'll take the ease of picking SD clothes.

 

@lutke Thank you! AIL Jane is a very pretty sculpt... well, all of AIL dolls are pretty imho!
If you're looking to create a hybrid in WS, then I think that would be a lot easier than going for a NS hybrid. I'm not sure if you're new to BJDs? While it can seem slightly stressful getting into hybridizing- then you shouldn't let that stop you. There's tonnes of info out there and people here on DOA are always happy to help any questions

 

Yes! I'm definitely new.

It's a bit frustrating because I am fairly certain that the resin would match at least with Maskcat WS, but the resins for both companies have changed somewhat recently, and without a direct comparison I don't feel like making a gamble. Not so early in the hobby at least.

 

@lutke Ahhh if you're new to BJDs then it makes sense that you don't want to gamble too much with the whole hybrid thing so early on. Doll companies do sometimes change their resin colours, which can be quite frustrating But I do hope you will enjoy the BJD hobby! I have been in this hobby for 19 years now- and I'm still in love with BJDs. This hobby is seriously awesome^^

One maybe useful find on Weibo is that AiL white (I think this Jane is white since normal is much peachier) seems substantially paler than Dollzone white, which is rather yellow. It's still acceptable though. Now all I have to figure out is whether Maskcat's white is less yellow than DZ. That would be enough to try a hybrid this soon for me.

Your in-coming Maskcat doll is in WS ,yes? I do hope the Maskcat WS could match the AIL WS since I would love to see you getting a Jane (the world needs more AIL dolls!!) Write an update once you know!

 

Nope, Yael is NS. But the next will be WS. I'll probably bite the bullet anyway and get a floating head, at worst I can set her aside for a later day and if she matches Maskcat WS I'll just have to get a body. Are the company faceups really as good as those on the website?
