Resin Comparison AiL Alice in Labyrinth Resin Match

I'm glad I saw this as I was going to buy a DT13 body in freshskin to put either an AIL Chloe head (away being beautified at the moment) or a Supia Lina head on, one head I will keep and one I will sell but I now realise I will be better with orientalskin if I keep the Chloe so will have to decide before I order the body. I do have a DT13 in tan so can check the dimensions ok.

 

I have one to contribute - Doll Family - "normal yellow" colour - its a really nicely shaped body, I really like it (although the resin is not as high quality as some - a bit more plasticy than say volks), the jointing is good. The normal yellow matched ail ns well, only a very slight colour difference. In fact, I prefer it to the volks sd 10 body I also have. Doll family is reasonably priced and very good customer service from the seller on ebay - only $270.

 

I thought I just should shear this. I showed my doll to my mom and my sister and asked what they thought about the resin match. Both said they think it looks pretty good. You have to really see the Ail doll with your own eyes and not on some pictures to see that the resin match with a DT15 freshskin body isn`t so bad after all. I think my camera is to blame for the bad pictures. Also that I took all these pictures at night and with blitz. So I took my boy outside to take some pictures and see how it went. This time at day and not when it was dark like last time. This time it went a lot better.



Actually I dont think the resin match is to bad. DT15 freshskin is a good enough match with Ail NS dolls after all You only need some body blushing which you can see my Elijah doesn`t have. The missing bodyblushing is what makes it so hard to take properly pictures with him. I have been carrying him around looking at his face and body. And I can`t see anything wrong with the resin differenses. Haha I feel so much more better now

This information was great, thank you all. I'm new to all this and the dolls that caught my heart most were Bertram and Elijah's heads (couldn't decide between them so ordered both). I figured I'd worry about bodies later )

 

I think I might end up with a Bertram to one day. He is so handsome. And I just have to say that I`m loving the DT15 boy body more and more. It is one of the hottest male bodies I have ever owned. And I love how the resin feels In August my Ail Elijah is going to be sent to a face-up artist. She is going to try to blush the head instead of the body to make it mach even more better. Then later I can think about a full body blushing instead. Simpler to blush a head to match a body than blush a whole body to match the head I guess hehe. He is going to get a special face-up drawn by me. And 2 scars in his face + a snakebite piercing. I can`t wait. It`ll be so great to see my boy getting new.

 

I now have three DG bodies and although others have said they are plastic-y I don't find them so at all, in fact for the money I really like them,and the new type two body poses really well, but maybe that's just me, and I'm not so fussy....Yes, they do squeak, but I like the sound.... It's a good colour match NS yellow with AiL, and the head sits well too without having to mod it at all.

I have my AIL heads on Volks bodies (Normal skin tone)- in my opinion it's a perfect match ox

 

For my AIL Elijah I chose a Ringdoll girl body in Normal Pure Skin. Outside the body is very slightly more pink than the head, inside, I cannot see any difference. Especially without my reading glasses lol.

 

And for my Bertram (now Zara), I chose an Angel of Dream female body in Normal Yellow. I'm very pleased with it, resin match is excellent and its a slightly bigger body than the Ringdoll, so the proportions are better. Plus it cost a whole lot less.
All in all, a beautiful body and perfect on my Bertram/Zara

My old Volks SD-13 girl body doesn't match at all.

malvina~~ your AIL head does look more like Normal skin than White skin to me. Did you buy the head new from the company? If Yes, maybe they mistakenly sent you a head in the wrong resin colour- have you shown them the photos you posted here?

 

sorry, i don't have ail WS but if you look #145 , There is a pic of ail WS head and it looks definitely white. To compare the head in 145 and your Alice head, I think it can't be WS...T_T

I got the head from AIL and wrote them mails and send them the pic, and they completely insist it is a white skin. that it will look yellow-orange next to paper white. nothing I can do about it anymore I guess... anyway, thank you all

 

I would say that your definition is almost perfection to describe AIL NS..mine it's exaclty in this way orange yellow,i think i've posted a pictures in this thread somewhere...

 

Ok we can try to make a comparison, as i own an AIL white head, and $abbatha one in Pink color, but from what i see your had isn't white....
EDIT:malvina Really AIL company won't send you a WS head?Why if the faul is on their side?

 

AIL say they double checked the quantities, they looked at my pictures, and they still say this is the white skin. I saw another post #105 that compare AIL white with DT white, and it also looks yellowish, so I am not sure anymore. I did think ordering AYA as well in the future, but now I am not sure, this is too yellow for me, and I really have no way anymore to be sure. looking at other pictures with different lightning can be very misleading. I am about to get Dollstown soph in white in few days, that I can compare with the picture on this post.
Thank you for wanting to help with comparison, but I don't know if it can be accurate also with different monitor settings and lightnings, I look through the resin matching thread and all color skins look different in different pictures, sometimes even NS looks whiter to me than my white maybe I'll eventually order AYA in the future and only than I will know for sure. thanks O_n

 

Well if you don't need any comparison piccies that is ok,to me it's not really a matter to take a piccies,really.
It can be also possible that from tiem on AIL changed a bit the color of the resin,why not.
Surely you can be sure only when you'll buy a head in NS from AIL.

 

i had a WS AIL Elijah head, and it was brilliant white, paper white. there was no doubt at all that it was white. i also have several NS AIL sculpts.... and your head looks like the NS to me.

 

Maybe I should write them again and ask if the color was changed, I did not think about it, thank you sabbatha...

I was planned to buy girls head in WS. But if every AiL's WS heads are that yellow, maybe I have to give up with my plan...
If Miss Ally's WS head was absolutely white, and Malvina's head was completely different, I think the company should explain about on their website because it means that they have changed their resin color style...

And I also want to see the comparison with ariadoll's body and AiL head!

Didn't get the chance to write AIL yet, but I will be ordering AYA head after all, with the sale they have right now I won't miss it, i will order WS again, and they ship really fast, so I can compare and let you know for sure...

 

I was searching for the info of ail WS and I found an owner of ail WS said that it matches with volks WS almost perfectly, with the picture, too. Also the company says their heads matches with volks skin well....so.... I guess I have to believe on what they say.... but what if I paid for the head and find out the WS head doesn't matches with volks WS? malvia's WS head doesn't look like it's gonna match with volks well...(I''m sorry to say this malviaT_T)
So I want to know their exact skin color in case I might regret after I receive the head...T_T

Hope it will help! AIL NS Fiona on Dollstown 15 girl body in oriental skin. Color match is perfect! Neck size comparison is ok, too.

 

If this helps anyone, here is Valenicia, who has a Twiglimbs Vanilla body. The resin match is not perfect, as you can see in the last close up, but it is not unnatural looking (humans faces are often a touch darker than thier necks.)

fanippone, my Elijah head (about 3 years old) has yellowed slightly and is a better match with normal yellow skin color. I am trying to find a female body to put this head on but have not had much luck so far. The 64cm Iplehouse body is the correct scale but the body is too pink for this head. The 60cm girl bodies are just too slight and the head looks too large. I like the natural female body, nicely proportioned and with small breasts but have had no luck finding such a body thus far. if anyone has any ideas..please post or pm me. Thanks, Jo

My bertram ns is on a 15ybody normal skinand it's perfect

Note on the AIL head..Right now the head is back to being a boy and a perfect match for my new Geraldo body. Geraldo is releasing a female body soon and I think that I will be ordering that. The male body poses so well - love it! There resin is normal/slightly yellow I think. Oh..and AIL is releasing a female in a few months..that should solve the problem.

I've planned to put my Elijah WS on a Ariadoll 18yr. I hope it will be okey, but does anybody have WS Ariadoll next to WS AIL?

 

If I had spelled the company correctly you might known what I was talking about. Sorry... Granado is the company and I purchased Boyd - first doll imported here I think and they have a second male available now and they are working on a female. The female body looks amazing but not finished yet - so we will see. The quality of the resin is beautiful, they do a wonderful job of sanding seams (cost extra) and really the best posing boy I have. I am hoping for the same from their female.

Here is a quick photo..not the best but gives you an idea. He is my best posing guy..holds positions really well and love the jointed hands.

 

Here are some other AIL heads on various bodies. The color match on Volks bodies is excellent but the Angel Fantasy bodies are great matches for the AIL Mini heads. too

You can see in my Avatar my SD Alice. AiL ws is not stark white like some companies. Especially, if you look at Minimee bodies they look paper white. I ordered 10 heads a little over a year ago, could be two now. I had both natural skin and white skin. There is a difference between the two skin tones but the white does have a cream/yellow beige cast to it. I have had two ws Alices and both matched my Volks FCS ws body. Currently my Alice is on a Volks Masha ws body.
I also had a Angel Studio boy and he was french ws and it was a fairly good match to AiL ws but I do not own this boy anymore so I am not sure how the head would fit. Or if they still have the same resin.
I think Mrs. Ally on DoA had an Elijah posted back in the beginning of the thread on a boy body but I cannot remember the company, it was a fairly good match.

Well..I am not a great help as I turned my Elijah into a female and have the head on an I-doll Studio body..works. I tried the head on my Granado doll body but somehow did not work (for me) but color was close. Here as a female:

I think it is a is a good match, but not perfect.
The head is slightly darker (pink peach ?? o_O?) of the body.

I have made glue suede to my doll.
The glue acts as resistance to the movement of the joints in such a way as to make them hold poses.
I haven't played with him before doing this (so I can't say &#8226;_&#8226;|| ), but now the body pose very good for one single joint BJD.

Does anyone have any AiL heads on a Island Doll body? They have a multitude of shades for their dolls and I was thinking the natural beige or island would work best? Can anyone give me input? Especially for the MSD Alice head.
