[Adopted] Volks Super Dollfie - SD, SD13, SD16, SD17, SDGr, SDGou & FCS - X

Sep 23, 2013

    1. it can take 2-5 hours to do a fcs, if you kind of know what you want then it might be a little bit faster

    2. The more prepared you are, the better. Look at hand, feet, body, arm & leg length options ahead of time. Have an idea of what wig(s) you'll want. If you can print out a sheet with pictures to either use as a guide or give to them for reference, that will help. When I did my FCS at the last NY Dolpa, it took me less than an hour because I knew what wigs, hands, eyes etc. I wanted already, and I printed out this page to give to them to attach to my order. It's not necessary, but it helps and my boy came home looking exactly how I wanted him to!

Angelden.net has most of the options listed for you to get a good basic idea of which selections you'll make for each available option. Some things like wig style and eye color might best be selected when you can see them in person, but it never hurts to have a good idea of what you'd like going in. Good luck! :)

    3. If you checked all of the items ahead of time and know what you want - it takes about 30 min or less.
None of my FCS done at the Volks USA took more than that much time

    4. This last weekend a lot of FCS orders were processed, and took about 1 ~ 2 hours each since majority of customers had a pretty good idea of what they had in mind for what they wanted. It mostly depends on how sure you are on what you want.

Be sure to print out a lot of reference pictures if you're getting a face-up! Good luck!

    5. Wowwwwww is he amazing! :aeyepop: What a great face. Definitely a princely balance of strength + gentleness.

    6. Thanks everyone. I pretty much know what I want except for the faceup. I heard we can request even faceups from limited dolls? The closest I would want is the faceup on the SD13 Irvin. I unfortunately don't have a color printer and am only considering a faceup since it's already included in the price. I'll definitely write down everything before though to help the process.

    7. If you want a faceup of a limited doll, just tell then you want so and so's make up done. then they just write it down and your done.

    8. You can order face ups similar to limited dolls (granted that they're done by hand so they won't be 100% identical). If you don't have a color printer than that's okay, just put a note referring that it's SD13 Irvin.

    9. I never understood FCS and I know I couldn't get one because i never got to go to the volks store :( and I missed my chance at the belldandy since I just wanted the body and head and eyes. The clothing and decals didn't interest me. I doubt FCS could cover a belldandy.

    10. As other mentioned, if you want the face up to be same as a LE or any of the demo face up, when you get to the face up section, please tell the person who is taking the order that you want it EXACTLY like the face up for LE SD13 Irvin, this way, it takes care of the eyebrows, eyes, eyelashes, lip (gloss/ no gloss) all of those questions. They will not need a photo for their own stock dolls

In my past two experience, the face up does come up pretty similar to the original reference face up.

    11. There isn't a lot to understand about FCS honestly, a visit to Angelden will give you a good idea of what your options are, and you only need to update yourself on newer sculpts and where they are available. I got my boy on proxy, so I just went through everything and made corrections where needed if she had an idea of changes.

As far as getting limited sculpts and exactly what you want? I would say, shell out the money, then recoup on expenses by selling things you don't want to other people, many items are wanted alone instead of with the doll, so you have a good chance, particularly with period garb, or popular figures (like say…Belldandy!?)…also Volks wigs are popular anyway, and unique ones are super popular, so…yeah, I guess Volk's World comes with special tricks and things since they have a certain way of doing things. Good luck in the future, Volks is worth it, I promise!

    12. Thanks ladydeath2007, pleiades, and anavel! I feel less nervous about the whole process now :).

    13. I been wondering where exactly can I find the list of released models of volks dolls. i been looking all over and I havent been able to find it. Not even on volks website which is quite strange. I would of thought there would of been some good source to watch for all new volks dolls and etc. I am hoping volks at least puts up some type of FCS on their site. I am a supporter for it since im sure many people who just cannot go can order :(

But hey I can still look in here and see all the wonderful dolls everyone has. in till I get my own :D (in some ways I really don't count owning an 8 year old SD13 girl body as a true volks)

    14. Jenny, nakitaninja, thank you! ;)

MacaronTea, oh, he looks pretty calm and gentle, like real Prince! :3nodding: Thank you for sharing, and thank you for your comment about my Shiro. ^^

    15. It's not completely up to date, but www.angelden.net has a pretty good list with lots of photos.

    16. Thank you very much for your reply InvisibleWings!
haha now I am tempted to try for Hajime. Bad me ;)

      Ksusha your Shiro is amazing!

    17. I hope I can fulfill some Megu eye candy :) This is my Kohana.

My Kohana really needs her prince. I've been looking for a while now. I'm thinking that Claude, the Prince might actually be it!! Can I please request any Claude spam ;)

    18. Volks does not put FCS on line because in Japan, the Volks Members do get a published newsletter mailed to their house. Since the membership is limited to Japanese residents we get to see scans from other people. HOWEVER if you follow Volks Japan on Twitter, they do post new One Off pictures, new coordination dolls and other cool stuff coming out on Twitter.

Since FCS can be information intensive especially if you are not sure what you want, Volks rather have their staff explains to you in person when you are in the store. The key is to get people into their store just like any other business. So unfortunately, they do not list them online for you to see.

Owing an 8 years old Volks is not a bad thing. My oldest is also about 8 years old.

    19. Quick question and totally different topic: I recently heard about a Volks SD DWCF 1 - I tried to find out more online but I only found two pics of a really gorgeous head. Now I was wondering - what's that DWCF 1 exactly? When was it released? On which occasion?

    20. That'd be the Dollfie World Cup #1 head, looks like a smaller sized School A. It was released for the faceup competition they had last year, along with DWC #2 head.

    21. MacaronTea - We came so close to having twin Claude pics, they missed each other by days, a tragic story. ;___; He looks great!

When I did my F36 FCS, I asked for lips painted in the style of Luna's but using reds, and I asked for Cristal's eyeliner, etc. They are really good at using their own face-ups as reference. So they can recreate a whole face-up or put one together from many face-ups. I usually bring images for color palettes and a style image of a person for feel/mood.

    22. No, it's not the DWC #1 head - I got one of those and it's marked "DWC" on the headplate. This one had "DWCF" on the headplate ...

    23. Can you link us to the photos of this DWCF head?

    24. Both DWC heads have DWCF mark on their head plates. At least the ones that VolksUSA sells.

    25. The head plate on the back on my DCW2 says DWCF-2. So I'm assuming the DWC1 would be marked the same way. It's only marked that way on the head plate though. The box he came in just says DWC #2.

    26. The DWC heads were released for the Dollfie World Cup faceup competition. The DWC-01 are part of the same "family" of sculpts such as the School A and F-16 and Chris/Lucas.

I have a DWC 01. I think the sculpt looks a bit more serious than the Sch.A

Here are a few pictures of my DWC-01. If you want, I could snap a picture of the headplate if you would like.

    27. Ok, you're right about the headplate - sorry. My DWC head is marked DWC-1, too. But the one I saw doesn't seem to be that DWC head. It's this here:

      http://www.flickr.com/photos/nadiaqueen/10571368225/in/photostream/

The most notable difference are the little teeth. I'm not sure if they're modded in, though. However, the general shape of the head (nose, lips) seems to be a little different, too. Of course it could be modded quite a bit ... Maybe someone here knows the owner and knows more about the head?

    28. That looks like a modded DWC1 to me, with mods to the mouth and nose. The nostrils and overall face shape are the same, as are the eyes. Actually, not sure if the mouth is actually modded or if that all is really well done painting.

    29. Have a friend in Japan who you would be willing to express mail the form to (those special parts forms expire after a certain time), your friend then orders the special parts you want and picks them up and mails them to you? There may be some buying services in the marketplace under 'other' that might be willing to do it for you for a fee and that would be the best place to look for help. Otherwise, unfortunately, it's just a fancy piece of paper as far as I know- unless someone else here knows differently and wants to chime in.

If it makes you feel any better: even if someone won Belldandy (or any LE doll) through another Volks retailer here in the states - other than Volks USA- they do not get the option for extra parts or services although the forms may still appear in the box and packaging as a default.

Teradeka- Your Megu is absolutely spectacular. She's so sophisticated and gorgeous! Another Volks doll whose official pics were a little 'meh' to me but I ate all my words and then some when I saw owner pictures. She is truly a beauty!!!:aheartbea

    30. That's totally possible. The mouth would have to be modded - mine doesn't have those little teeth. I'm really surprised how different that head looks from mine. Great modding job! :D

    31. I was able to order the yosd optional hand parts from my piccolo by using a Japan shipping proxy company such as Tenso. You can get your Japan address and telephone number by signing up there :). Volks will ship to Tenso, and then you can get Tenso to ship to your country, we have to pay for the proxy service they provided.
You will need to have a debit/credit card that accepts VISA or MASTER..etc info are listed in the form, and you are required to mail back the original form to them before the cut off date. Usually I have to send it in quickly considering that it will take at least a week to reach Japan. Hope that helps!

    32. Thanks! That's still her default faceup and eyes, if you can believe it. I haven't had time to paint any of my dolls recently.

That looks like a DWC01 to me in WS with modded teeth, possibly nose. I had one too. She looks very nice ^_^

    33. your Megu is so pretty! and I love the outfit, could you tell me how to get the outfit >0<

    34. That's actually really good to know, thank you meeve! I've used Rinkya as a buying agent before but was about 50/50 on their service and haven't used them outside of auctions on YJ!. It's really good to know about other options. :) I also would like to order bonus hands, especially if I am lucky enough to welcome home Saito! :aheartbea

    35. Thank you! Her outfit is a modded fullset from Dollzone Aurora. hope that helps :)

    36. A few months ago before going on vacation I purchased a SDGr girl body to use with an artist sculpt of course it wasn't delivered until after I'd left and after a 1.5 months away I came back to discover that the resin match was by my expectation a passable match with light airbrushing but the size of the head is so off it was comical. I decided to give it to another one of my dolls as an upgrade and wow I really love this body on my Mark, between her aged resin and faceup blushing I'll have to blush the body to match better but she looks so amazing now I've been having so much fun designing clothes for this body.

    37. AENEAS, I love your girl in this clothing, the pattern and the cut-out together are really eye catching, and the chosen design for the top with the sleeves and the collar illusion are wonderful, you have a great eye!

I just really wish someone was over in Japan doing proxy orders from Sato, we've usually had at least one for years, so this is the first time in a while that we literally have no one doing them. I just love all the new MSDs, and SD F-54 is so dreamy #~#

    38. AENEAS: I love the SDGr body, too! It is my favourite body sculpt and is so fun to design things for. Your girl looks stunning, and that outfit is fantastic. I agree (and second) with everything Artemos wrote about it! :D

    39. Hey guys! Just popping in to ask since I figured you guys might know best.

Does anyone know how these people got these hands? I think they might be from Dolpa but that's all I know. :/

    40. Yup, those are from the Dolpa 30 Longest Line event- they were only given to participants, iirc.

AENEAS, Mark makes such a gorgeous girl! I really love the sense of personality you get from that photo.

    41. I agree! I never liked the Mark sculpt, but "he" makes a great girl!
