[Adopted] Unoa discussion thread Part 1

Nov 9, 2005

1. I just got my girl back from Li Xue - she's gorgeous >w< Sorry for the blurriness, twas the best picture I took XD And she's a DoC body, which explains the colour diff.

I never used to like Sist, but this thread has really shown me how amazing they are!

2. Hi everyone, for months now, have I been stalking the Crosspistols post in hope of getting a commission slot for Lynsey to create my “dark” unoa.. alas I missed it by hours (I was smack middle in a job interview) and I can not tell you how disappointed I was. :...( :...( :...(

After that devastation and the prospect to get a slot by next year if I am luck.. I bit the bullet and just took a stab at painting my girl on my own. I am not experienced with the airbrush and especially dark dark smoky eyes are sooo tough..

Well, it is not exactly what I was looking for.. and I might give it a few more tries.. but I wanted to share this one with you guys anyway.

She has no name yet, so I will just call her Red for the moment.. I took some quick pics before it got to dark with the grey wig (don’t mind those specks.. they are fibers from the wig) and then later, I put the black wig on her and took some more.. it was so dark by then that they did not turn out well .. but still.. here is my little Red (to be named properly in the future)

3. Beatrix - LOVE IT. Looks just like a magazine shoot of a band.

4. great job - i think her faceup works well! :)

5. Beatrix - Great job! And I love your B&W photos!

Carolyn

6. I personally think creating faceups on Unoas is very easy. The facial features are very defined, and having the eyebrows already there are very helpful for newbies.

Unoa can look great with a light subtle faceup or a vivid colorful one. It is really hard to screw up!

Laurmann Your girls are lovely and they look great together!

Beatrix Nice job on your crew of Unoas! And look to be very well dressed.

Lami I can't tell, is your girl a Lusis?

kchan Lovely lovely pic of your two!

7. chopsart - she's an L-bi girl, although I do hope to get a Lusis some day x3

8. Aww Brennil, Thanks so much ! My kids will be happy to hear that.. .. they are so thrilled that they have a proper place to sit on .. (they got a new couch this weekend)

Hi scoundrelle, Thanks so much for your kind comment :) It is really rough and basic.. I hope to get her face down better later down the road, but it will suffice until I get proper time again.

Thanks so much Carolyn.S, you know, I hated turning them into black and whites but the colors were just too off to post them.. I hope to get time this weekend to take proper pictures :)

Hi chopsart, Thanks so much :) .. They love their clothes.. :) I can not tell you how much money I have sunk into finding clothes over the past months in anticipation of my growing fam. :) Now I need more dollies :)

9. Lami, I think she is very sweet. I never would have guessed that she was an L-bi.. I thought she was a modded sleeping lusis face.. I love her

10. I leave the smaller male parts on my boy most of the time. It makes the fit of the clothing look more realistic. In any event, I'm used to sewing for boy dolls and it doesn't phase me.

11. I so think they look like the Olsen twins!

Beatrix- Your girl 'red' you did a really good job. Were did you get your goggles?

12. Beatrix - Thank you very much :aheartbea And you nearly got it right - she is a mod sleeping fp, just an L-bi one  I love Red as well, she really fits the 'punk' look you've given her <3

13. That is a great idea.. great Mod :fangirl:
Thanks for your compliments on Red :) I better find a name for her quickly ... but then again, I still need to fix ther face

14. beatrix...she's adorable!!! i love her faceup and look!!! she would totally fit in with all my kids!!! LOL!!!

15. Thanks crazyfish :) she is a little rebel :) and to think that I almost sold those eyes :)

16. kchan I love your kids. They are just adorable together.

lami Oh your little girl is so cute. What a great mod.

Beatrix I think Red came out great. I love the dark, smokey eyes and very pale lips. And I have to say I like the name Red. LOL

17. Beatrix: I agree with Laurmann2000... I love the name Red. I absolutely love her face-up, too! she really came out great. the contrast of her dark eyes and light natural lips is very compelling. <3

18. laurmann2000 - Thanks :D

19. Can anyone answer if Unoa can wear MSD size Leekeworld shoes? or would they be to big. Most of the shoes i have bought for my Unoa and Narae are MSD size...just have never bought any Leekeworld shoes. Thank you!

Hi. There.

I just want to know your opinion.
Do you interesting about hand made muffler for Unoa and Narin or other type dolls?
I Know winter has ended soon. But If you interesting about hand made muffler.
I'll sell muffler that design by me and hand at knitting by my mon.
I got a few sample muffler for Unoa.
If you interesting about that I'll update that picture next week Marketplace on DOA .
And If you want to order. you need to make some group.
I want to you make group order. ( like outfits order) If you do that you save your shipping cost.
I'll send that muffler beginning of next month or mid of next month. itโ€™s different my work.

Thank you so much. :)

Mio

21. laurmann2000, paperbot, Thank you both very much :) I never thought Red would get such a great reception :) .. .. I will take more pics this coming weekend and spam you guys some more

22. Good question, I would like to know too.. I saw some nice boots that I would like to buy for Seiji and Shizuku. Anybody out there have a pair that they could measure?

23. Hi Mio, do you mean a muffler where you stick your hands into to keep them warm? If that.. not so much interested.. but that's just me .. But then, I have yet to see anything you make that I didn't like :aheartbea

24. Beatrix : I add to sample picture. :)

25. Mio I love your clothes and the scarf looks so nice.:aheartbea

26. In fact, they usually fit my Iplehouse SD's :o I have never found an MSD shoe that isn't huge on Unoa or Narae. The closest fit are either Minifee shoes from luts (still a tidge big) or the 55cm shoes that some sites now carry.

Hope that helps!

Penny

27. yoyomy I like those mufflers especially the blue one. I think you will find people to buy them if you offer them for sale.

28. yoyomy: they are cute! I would buy some if I didn't know how to knit myself. I think you'll have plenty of orders for those if you offered them for sale.

29. Only the Leekeworld MSD sized CLOSED TOE shoes will fit well. And all you need to do is cut out a piece of 1/4" craft foam in the general shape of the shoe sole and put it inside the shoe. This will raise up the Unoa's foot and make the shoe fit snug on the foot. I have a number of Leekeworld MSD shoes for my Unoas and Naraes and I really like the way they look and fit. :)

I believe Leekeworld is having a preorder sale on all of their styles of shoes right now.

30. Thank you Mio :) those scarves are very nice :) I especially like the grey one :aheartbea

31. kchan: what a cute couple :aheartbea

32. Loving everyones girls... and soon I'll have my own to adore. Woohoo!!!

33. lee-at - Grats on your incoming Unoa!

Carolyn

34. Juniper's bedroom! :D

More pics here: http://denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?t=187276

It's a work in progress, but I'm super happy that I finally have enough stuff to make a convincing room.

Thanks to all who left me nice comments about the skull dress. :)

Keep the lovelies coming! This is my most favorite thread on all of DoA.

35. Just a quick question I've been meaning to ask for ages, does anyone know if Luts Minifee clothes fit Unoa???

Thankies :D

36. Oh that bed room is adorable! Looks like just the right age & Accessories for her!

37. They fit perfectly -- clothes and shoes and wigs!

-- A ^_^

38. Wonton, loving that bedroom! Is the dresser a jewelry box of some kind?

39. Yes, Wonton, I love her bedroom! She looks very comfortable there. Way better than anything I could ever do.. I can only suggest the fabric would be better ironed out to look more like a wall? Awesome finds!

Ashbet, MNF wigs fit?

40. Amanohara: I don't think MNF wigs fit. MNF are 7/8, Unoa are 6/7. I tried a wig from my friend's Shushu on my Lusis and it was huge. sorry. D: wouldn't it be nice, though?

41. You are right! but I was making sure, perhaps there were styles that fit better? I recall now buying a 7/8 wig for another head (too small) sauvage with pigtails, it looked cute on Esprit, but it still was too big.

psst, Nova isn't in reprinting anymore, is she? ;)

42. Wonton - love your room! That bed is great for Unoa. Is that an official American Girl bed or the copy?

Carolyn

43. Wonton, everyone has said it but I will say it again....great room. I really love it. It looks so real and your little girl looks so comfortable in it.

44. Maybe I'm on crack regarding the wigs? The clothes/shoes definitely fit!! (Now I'm trying to remember if it's MNF-sized wigs that I was thinking of . . . d'oh!)

-- A <3

45. Re MNF girl clothes - there are some differences in the measurements of Minifee and Unoa, but it should only make a difference with MNF girl clothing that is really tight in the bust since MNF's bust is 1cm smaller than Unoa large bust (the waist difference is minimal and MNF's hips are larger).

Unoa girl
(Note - these are my own measurements, not the funny inches ones)
Height - 42cm
Head - 17cm
Bust (small) - 16.5cm
Bust (large) - 18cm
Waist - 12.7cm
Hips - 19cm
Foot - 5.3cm

MNF girl
Tall - 41cm
Head - 19cm
Bust (default) - 17cm
Waist - 12.5cm
Hips - 19.5cm
Foot - 5.5cm

Carolyn

46. Laura, I loved your story.. so creative.. Wonderful

CarolynS, you are always such a pool of info.. those measurements are very helpful. Thanks for posting them for everyone to see.

Wonton, GREAT Room.. just like everyone says.. I love the little accents on the dresser, the carpet etc..

47. sewaddictd: Thanks! I'm always in the lookout for scale props. :)

vampirebox: I think it's more like a desk organizer? My boyfriend bought it for me since I was carrying on how I wanted a doll sized dresser, but couldn't find one I liked. (I wanted one that wasn't a jewelry box.) He managed to find one! I love it!

Amanohara: Thanks! The fabric is temporary. I want to build actual walls eventually. But thanks for the suggestion!

Carolyn.S: Thank you! It's an official American Girl bed. It's Addy's bed. It's a PERFECT fit for Unoa in my opinion.

laurmann2000: Thanks! I was thinking how comfy the bed looked when I was setting it up. I'm mildly jealous! Since my mattress is lump and uncomfortable. :doh (I'm checking out your photostory in a sec. I'm intrigued by that picture!)

Beatrix: Thanks! I had so much fun setting up all the tiny props. :)

48. Parcelforce is killing me :(
Is it always this slow?

My new girl is on her way. :)
So all I can do is wait and shopping clothes

49. Wonton, your girl is lucky to have such a pretty room!

I painted Elke some Tokyostyle nails X'3 They have some sparcle too but sadly it doesn't show in the pic...

50. Thank you Ashbet, Amanohara, Carolyn.S and paperbot regarding the MNF/ Unoa clothing comparison:)

Jesmoth those nails look amazing!!! WOW :D

51. jesmoth Wow how could you paint something so tiny with such detail? So pretty.

52. Amanohara: lol, you're right, but since I got my new Macbook, I haven't been able to install Photoshop to fix my signature banner. xDDD

53. How Cute :fangirl: did you use a magnifying glass ?

54. Thank you everyone and haha no, I didn't use magnifying glass ^^

I also gave Sigrun a face up. This is a really crappy pic though, it doesn't even show her lashes >_> There really are some details, really ^^;

55. Oh jesmoth, she is soooo pretty! :D

56. It only took since....august? Of 2007, but Argos finally has a proper body. As soon a I take pictures I will post them. He's now a Kid dollmore body hybrid.

57. Wonderful job Jesmoth! I also love her in the dark wig.

Also Zozolala - the outfit on ebay is fabulous!!! You did a great job and it has sold already. You are very talented!

58. jesmoth She looks beautiful. You did a really nice job. I like her eye color too.

Musachi Congrats on having your boy together. I look forward to pictures.

59. jesmoth - Sigrun's faceup is lovely and she looks great in that wig. And Elke's nails are super cute!
