[Adopted] Soom Little Gem Monthly Mini Doll discussion (part 6)

My X-mas Kit Koori is finally home!

SOOM's Tawny Skin is a beautiful milk tea color. I definitely overestimated his eye and wig size, though. The eyes pictured are only 12mm, but they fit him pretty well. He's borrowing Jade's (my BF Robin) wig, but the 7-8" wig size is really loose on the poor guy. I'll need to buy him a 6-7" one.

I hope to get my awesome friend, @PeppermintPocky to do his faceup some time in the next couple of weeks. Maybe then he'll look a little more complete!



(Apologies for the poor lighting, BTW. It's been stormy and gross outside, so I haven't been able to get any natural light for photos. )

And I will not lie friends, this doll cost me £40. I bought the body and an outfit for £55, that is including postage. And the head was being sold for £40, too. And... I talked to the seller for a week straight while I waited for my money to come in. She decided to gift him to me. I'm so in love with him and feel so so blessed.

Oh. I'm thrilled to see Sueve's around here! Sueve was my first BJD, it was a quick buy at second hand and never regretred that. Here's pretty old pic of Suvi (likes to be called Sue, because she thinks Suvi is too lame name):

Aaaaah man I love the Serin/Rico heads. I kinda want one, dangit. But I still have to see about getting my Cheshire a proper faceup and actually finished. He's been sitting around since December with no real updates.

I'm dropping in to spam my Shale, Cure as well! I haven't taken him out for a photo in ages and going to a local meetup made me want to play with him a little more frequently again.

Shale and shell

 

Anyone else participate in the Post MD click wars? I managed to get payment through for a violet Cheshire, but when I went back to see how close I cut it all three available were already sold! Soooo, I'm wondering if I'm actually gonna get a "We're sorry, we oversold this doll!" email later.

 

Nope, I didn't manage to get a Cheshire. Too late.

 

@*Earthbound_Angel* aw, that sucks! They sold out really, really quickly! I placed my order literally the minute the Post-MD pages went live. By the time I finished going through PayPal and checked back on the Little Gem page, only the gray Cheshire was left. Another 10 or so minutes and pretty much all the Little Gems were gone!

I did manage to find the auto order confirmation email in my spam folder (*shakes fist at Gmail*), though I've posted on the Q&A for payment confirmation. I figure that way they can either tell me they need to cancel my order or confirm that all is well.:P

 

So many lovely dolls in this thread. I have to add one of my Arctic merboy. He now has his eyes and wig but has chosen to be stubborn on giving me his name.

 

Your little gems are all so beautiful! I've ignored the idea of getting a little gem myself for too long, but finally have a Cheshire on the way!

Now a question -- how good is the resin matching between batches of the same year?

Does anyone have pictures of a Soom Ior?

 

I have a Ior in WS from the last full choice. I love her.

 

Well the next FCE its for little gem, from 7 to 21 dicember. I want a koori and volo but not sure if in normal or tan skin.

 

I hope to be getting a cream white Volo. Trying to persuade my mother to get a little gem from this FCE so we can swap heads and bodies, she doesn't like romantic eyed heads but I told her that since I want to get my Volo's eyes modded anyway, if she will order a doll so I can get Volo, I will find someone to mod both heads.

 

Is there a good sense of what dolls might be in this round? I'm not particularly budgeted for one right now, but I have a girl who still needs a Soom body, if the right type comes up...

Whoops, I should have guessed they'd have the information posted already this close to the start! And oh dear, the Koori/Yuki body might work... are there any other cat/beast-like legs they've done that might be in the next FCE? (Has Cheshire gone yet? I'd really like that body for her...)

 

I wish they would add grey skin this time...I really want a grey dragon.

 

I wanted to get a Rang, but then I noticed that it’s only the sleeping/fantasy head! Bummer lol

 

The Ray/Luna Head is open eyed! Maybe she could get that one!

 

That head looks sooooooo good with an eye opening mod if you can swing it/want to!

They released most of my favorites and I probably can't get any unless I ask my SO for one. I own a Shale, but a tawny one sounds lovely. I'm mostly after a Lux boy though. Why Christmas season, why!
