If I'm wanting a Rosette with the smaller bust and longer legs what body type is that?

Is there an expectation that the resin color shown in the photos is all we'll be offered?

 

Soom is really jerky about only offering Rosettes in NS (the exception being the FCE, right?)

 

I don't have the money for them, but I just noticed Vela's limited boots are not marked sold out! (here: http://dollsoom.com/eng/shop/item.php?it_id=1326940289 )

If anyone was feeling like taking the chance!

I'm drooling over the new dolls especially Chesire. Today I randomly searched for doll news and found out about them!!
The outfit is awesome and I'm curious about the parts. Some more days waiting...

So a couple questions! Whereabouts on a Pure girl does a Muse girl come up to? Her shoulder? Pics appreciated, but this isn't strictly a pic request. Further, do you miss that hip joint at all on the Muse girls?

I'm looking forward to going the tomboy angle with her and hope Minifee jeans fit, but I'm in such a quandary! I want Vela's head and ears on Fir's body! And I'm excited about the possibility of additional hands. I'll just have to hope against hope that they're a reasonable match, because Soom NS is so all over the place. I'm hoping for lots of swapping shenanigans!

Thank you very much, Elsii! looks like she'll make a great younger sister for my Oethel. Totally sticking to the tomboy plan, too. She's going to be adorable! Also, no, I don't see any indication that there's any tails involved. Which would be kind of weird, to be honest. They just released Smokey with ears and tail, so maybe Vela and Fir will get them too. We can only hope!

 

No worries!! I'm very excited that Oethel might be getting a little sis.
Yeah, I'm seriously considering the Smokey ears and tail for my Camelia (who I still need to introduce to you guys >_<) As much as I love the ones that come with Vela, I don't need a Vela again at this stage.

 

well guys, finally! An update! I totally can't believe it ... it's not the update that *I* was hoping for but i'm totally delighted for you guys that are drooling over the new dolls and the outfits are seriously cute

Kind of gives me hope that if these do well maybe SOMEDAY i'll see more victorian stuff.

 

Nice to see another update! But it's taking forever to release the girls! Especially since the Soom site has released like 3 dolls since the Rosette girls teaser went up.

And that little bunny Fir is messing me up! I've been trying to save for something from Doll Chateau but I don't know if I'll make it. I might have to skip this Rosette release and hope they don't decide to never make more

I JUST noticed the standard girls are listed as 'Sold Out' !!! When did that happen???

 

I still think it's exciting Soom are just doing something with Rosettes finally! XD But I think I'm gonna hold back and wait for a Camellia release! (omg elsii if you have any pictures of your girls pretty please share one? )

Chehime - Do you mean the full sets cause you can still order basic Pure & Muse girls! The full sets have been sold out for a while, I think Soom said it was because they ran out of material to make the outfits, but I pretty sure someone ordered a fullset wig and got it. :3

Camellia is my super favorite, and Armeria is second ... i just love camellia's smil so much

 

Oh thank goodness! It's just the full sets! I was scared for a minute!

 

So I was poking around a bit and they have the drop-downs loaded onto Sakura's page. It looks like we'll be able to choose whichever set of ears we want for these girls, which is nice. I didn't see any indication of what the option hands looked like, so I posted to the Q&A asking for a photo. The programming of the page only allows for choosing one set, and I wanted to ask if they could possibly let us order both sets because splitting keeps the BJD planet spinning.

I'll let you know how they reply when I get it!

I was sad to see the uniforms go ;.; I still wanted one of the fullsets. I have a weakness for school uniforms. Maybe if I ask Sadol real nice....

It looks like only Alice comes with the option for cat or rabbit ears though&#8230; Cheshire and Rabbit only have their own ear parts as an option

 

Gah! The fullset for Fir is $600+!! *sob*

 

As much as I am sad to see the Steampunk line go (though my valet rejoices...), I am also glad to see something is finally happening in this department.
I just wish the outfits were available separately... They are lovely but I have no need for more dolls.

I had been wondering the same, Anna. Scolling up and down trying to figure it out. I initially thought it was going to be a Pure/Muse price difference...no. Then thought maybe it's a $50 boob job...no. Perhaps it's an oops regarding the optional parts that was overlooked?

 

Wrong body, wrong color.....I'll pass though it's nice to see them doing something! Thankfully, I have my pure body sweet white skin Fir to tide me over....

 

I am! In kind of a big way. Crossing my fingers that everything works out well and I split for everything I need.

 

Are there comparisons for all the kinds of bodies? Im very confused.

 

Generally, there's two bodies, and two bust sizes. Muse or Pure, and Girl or Lady. Pure is the original, the 47.5cm, with the legs of a 90's shoujo manga heroine. Muse came later, and are a more typical MSD height of 43cm, with shorter legs, and without the extra joint at the waist. The Girl bust is the smaller size, and the Lady bust is the larger (rather similar to Minifee sizes). I tend to refer to them together like Pure Girl or Muse Lady, but that's just me.

They changed the base price for Fir and Vela to $288, so it was probably a mistake about the ear parts.

I want to. I want to get a mostly fullset Vela. I'm talking myself into her and out of her at the same time. She would make an adorable companion to Coral... But I don't have a planned spot for her in my doll family and I was supposed to not be buying impulse dolls any more....

Does anyone one with a Vela notice how open her mouth is? Is it less obvious in person?

Yeah the site is a pain to navigate. You have to hover over Shop, and click Dolls without moving your mouse off that new bar. Then, when that loads click on "Limited Edition" on the tabs just above the thumbnails of the old limiteds.

 

Oh wow, Fir as the white rabbit is stunning! (I just wish there were fantasy leg parts too, hahaa.)

Anyone know about the 'Muse body' they come on? Are they compatible with other SOOM fantasy parts by chance?

 

I've got two muse girls, and they're much much smaller than Little Gem, so fantasy body parts (like legs & arms) won't work, but things like wings, ears & horns should be fine if they're magnetic and you tape some magnets to your Rosette! Hm I wonder if these girls will come with special magnet-holes in their heads for their ears?

 

I'm not sure, I don't own any fantasy dolls. (yet.)
I really love Fir's ears. All of them look awesome, I like their sculpts quite a bit. I wonder if Fir's head would look disproportional on another body type. Ahh im so tempted! Do the muse bodies pose well? C:

 

Just got a reply from Soom! They will be adding the ability to choose both pairs of hands on 3/12 Korea time. Something to keep in mind if you plan on ordering!

P-Aei - Some people have had success with hybriding onto Yo-SD bodies, as well as Chicline. Chicline bodies are pretty hard to come by, though. Rosettes have fairly tiny heads compared with other MSDs, so they may not work as well on some. A Minifee body might be interesting. Or one of the thinner DC bodies.

I've been looking around at Rosette hybrids, and I was wondering if Minifee hands will work with the Muse bodies? Couldn't seem to find any pictures of those :/

 

I recently saw the newest Rosette limited dolls and was so happy that Soom is still acknowledging them. I immediately thought of the Rosette thread lol. I have been a tad preoccupied so I haven't been able to lurk properly. :3
I'm sorry bbotss I have no idea, but maybe someone does, I think someone here had a chic line fairyland body with a Rosette head? elsii I think has rosettes and minifees anything?

Oh my gosh, I just saw the new fairy tale dolls after wondering about the recent proliferation of Rosettes in the marketplace xP. It's like they actually took on all the suggestions you guys were coming up with before. I never thouggt this day would come, forever stuck on the "we have no current plans but we'll consider your suggestions" stage. Well done everyone!!

... We won't be able to choose to only buy parts lile the outfits, wigs, shoes etc like we did with the Steampunk line, will we? :/

bbotss - Hm I don't know if that'd work either, I think MNF wrist-balls would be too big for the slender Rosette forearms; but I'm not certain and could be wrong! I'd be interested in seeing a comparison if anyone has one?? On the thought of MNF parts, I wonder if anyone got the MNF magnetic ankles+hh feet yet? I thought someone had a pair ordered but I don't remember who and if they got them yet and if it worked or not... ^^;

I'd need to be brave enough to consider unstringing the wrist ball from my MNF to really know if the MNF/Rosette hand combo would work. Not sure if I am that brave to be honest! I really suck at all things tiny and stringy. Nice to see you here again, V.Poof&#8203;! I don't have my c-line hybrid anymore, but I am almost certain that Anna has hers. Maybe even a couple.

 

I don't get it... is there a difference between this Fairytale line and the Steampunk line in terms of how they are categorised? Like were the Steampunk ones "event dolls" and the Fairytale "limited edition" or some such distinction meaning the Steampunks got to have their accessories sold separately while Fairtales don't, or does this simply come down to "Soom's way of doing things"?

I just really want those brown boots Fir gets but I'm only interested in buying Vela -_- And Vela's pink boots are so easily available on their own in the store already, so it's like there's nothing exclusive about them, whereas none of the other shoes are accessible. Rosette dolls are practically impossible to fit decently outside of Soom's store, yet it's near-impossible in their store, too. Am I not understanding something...?

 

The very first Steampunk Rosettes were only available as full sets (with the exceptions that the wings were available separately for anyone wanting them) but after that they began selling all the bits individually. Dunno why. I think all we can do is shrug and say "oh Soom" cos if you try to think about it too hard your head will hurt.
