[Adopted] Ringdoll Grown Dolls, thread #5

I mean. I like my 03 body okay enough but for my next Ringdoll, I definitely won't be getting it. I'd even consider the 01 with those feminine features, the Red King would make a very pretty boy. But then again, same problem with the armor.
It's a shame

 

@artisticadelle Oh he looks great! The wig is perfect! And so is that suit, it fits amazingly well.
I can't imagine the feet on the 04 are that small O.O the 03 feet are tiny.

@Quiet and Insane John could use hugs today. He's naked again.

Pendergast's body showed up today finally! I LOVE it. So perfect, the color is even a match. He looks much better. Shorter, but better. Shorter is better anyway, my other guys are too tall lol
Only problem now is I have to spend 40 billion dollars buying suits from Sadol.

 

I joined the Kylin split to get the body with the tattoo, his clothes and accessories. I can't wait. I was going to order inexpensive bodies for a bunch of dolls but since I have bodies they can use ( I just have to swap heads) I though I'd just get the best for a couple of new guys. I hope the wait isn't terribly long.

 

Kylin is beautiful. I think I like him better than the Red King. But owner photos of the Red King might change that! (Btw, he has a release date: December 26)

Update - 【Ringdoll】The archaic grown Shen and teenager Chen are upcoming!
I'm in love with Shen though? I think I need him on my wishlist. Is he brand new or an older sculpt?

(Also I think at attempt to deliver my jointed hands was made today but the postie didn't ring the doorbell so no one heard him. Ugh.)

 

And I had high hopes to get my jointed hands before Christmas, but looks like my package will be here somewhere in January... I feel a little bit like I'm waiting for the doll not for the hands ^^;

Those jointed hands look great. And they actually hold things! My SOOM Chrom has jointed hands but they seem kind of weak.

 

@Quiet and Insane damn those hands look great! They must work really well to hold a cig like that (most of mine have to be stuck on with putty!)

Pendergast is a real boy! He got his body (FINALLY) and it's perfect for him! Plus I love it.



He's so much more slender than he was on the RGM03. I love it. His measurements line up with the Luts SSDF so I can buy the clothes I want for him. Which I need to do since I still have nothing that will fit him XD

 

The red king is on the 03... I feel like you could boil the armour and shape it to a smaller body, potentially? Or even build up something extra you could add to the armour to make it fit? I wonder how it would fit the 02?

Editing: there's a 0.5 cm difference in shoulders and a 1 cm difference in chest girth, as well as a 1.5 cm difference in waists.

 

@SteamWitch - Oh yes they're great!

@petiteballerine - "Modern" is an interesting way of putting it, as in Iselilja's story, he's the personification of the past (while his parner in crime is the future and together they create the present.)

@Dark Angel - I love playing with them! I'm very impressed with their engineering. I've also got jointed hands from Granado and DollZone, though the latter are really not great.

@VampireAngel13 - I was amazed the hands only took a little fiddling before they held onto the cig, but wow! Super happy. Pendergast looks great! I love that colour shirt on him.

 

@VampireAngel13, Now he looks like the lean, intelligent and mysterious FBI agent.

Chipped polish is life in a nutshell. Plus it's nice that he can wear some while I can't (for work reasons).
The static hands will be used for Orphicus, and while he's not a vampire, he'll be sharing them with my eventual K head who will be a vampire. Poor Orphicus has to share his body with three other heads!

@MissMorningGlory he's so pretty! That's my favorite version of Lucifer.

I keep going back and forth over the Red King. I like him, I don't like him. I like his face, I don't like his face. I like the armor, I don't like the armor.

I do, however, like the price. I thought he was going to be in the $800 range. So that's nice.

 

I want him, but I really need him in tan... so I might be looking for a split/someone buying the fullset who'll let me get extra armour if they don't reply to my email.. he's perfect for the character I swore I wasn't shelling

 

$800+ for the full set before one can spend $300+ for the armour?

 

The fullset price includes armour, but you can buy a second set.

I'm not sure? I love the armor and an incoming head could share the body... was kinda hoping for completely unpainted, but I get it make sense in the story... I'm not sure though if I'm over (insurance covered) damaged Jack from earlier this year? guess I'll dig the head out and decide then.

hope they let you put together the order the way you want!!

I want a body that doesn't really fit the armour (the slimmer 02), in tan, and since that qualifies for a head, I'll get a tan Lucifer head and swap them out. And wow! Was Jack the Ripper this year? I swore he was earlier, though 2016 was a long year. Which head?

that sounds like a plan! the armor looks like it should be ok a slimmer body - the way it rests on the shoulders? hopefully!

Jack was re-released mid-2015 i think. Mine didn't arrive until 2016 with scratched face and shiny streaks all over his body (supposedly the shipping crate fell off or something). With the insurance proceeds, I was going to send him back to get the face up fixed, but got so fed up in the process (dealing with their insurance took another 3 months), his head just went into a box and I gave the body to another doll. So I have to dig out his head to see how I feel about him / actually playing with my ringdoll dolls in general. The latter I hope to fix with the incoming Norman Light head with face up from an artist whose work I've been admiring from afar. ^^ Red King's body in NS would be great for him. ^^ I might even have a character for him in the armor... hm...

 

I'm so sorry to hear about your Jack... mine was actually my first doll! And oh god, I understand that. I've never had to deal with BJD company insurance, but my parents just ended an eight year long dispute over a car accident we were in that was witnessed by a police officer, so I'm glad yours was faster than that!

Ooo! Norman light is another beautiful sculpt.

Also, it took 5 emails and a lot of pleading, but I'm getting the red king, fullset, in tan but without a faceup, on the 02 which I don't think is going to be too much of a problem for the armour. His shoulders are 1.5 cm smaller, but I can make that work.

Well, my Razjel will stay as he is, body modifications and nail polish aren't for Archangels But one of my future dolls definitely will be covered with tattoos

Anyway, happily when I saw The Red King I thought that the only thing I would like to have from him is his wig.

 

8 years?! wow that's crazy long. I hope it was just really sucky insurance red tapes and you are all okay!! Yeah, 3 months in the grand scheme wasn't bad, and I probably could've followed up more / pushed vs. going along with their pace. Problem was Jack would've been my 1st full set doll, and in the end it was too much like work vs. escape, for lack of better word.

Anyway, I'm very glad they let you get your red king the way you want! Also much looking forward to seeing your special tan guy!! ^^

 

Yeah... none of us are all that affected by it. Our car was, and some of my stuff that was in the trunk, but nothing big. It was just insurance companies being complicated and fighting each other. Ah, yeah, he was a gorgeous fullset, but all in all, that doesn't sound like any break from assembling things yourself.

Okay, I've done it, I've joined the Red King club I've ordered the retro full set on layaway directly from RD and everything seems fine and dandy, but I'm really confused by all the extra event stuff I'll get; a tiny tiny blank doll with antlers, a blank Red King head and a blank Lucifer head... I think RD is telling me I have to learn how to make faceups now

What do you do with all the extra weird stuff you get sometimes (I'm thinking most of the tiny antler doll.)

I really like the Red King's armor. And his face is growing on me. I think it's the faceup that might be throwing me off a bit. I don't know. I can't quite pin-point what it is that I'm not crazy about. (maybe the hair?)

As for the extra weird stuff, I tend to practice faceups on them! Lol. My poor little sacrifices.

Due to recent events on this forum and massive disapointment in certain matters I have decided to take a break. Not sure for how long or if I'm coming back. I will be careful with saying the words "never" iin this case because I hate breaking my word on these matters (and besides - it's impossible to delete accounts anyway soooo yeah). Well I think I can happily say I'm immune to the allure of the Red King. I adore his armour, but those teeth are a nope from me. He's pretty, but I'll stick to K and Illya on my wishlist.

@Duma - Black nailpolish, tattoos, scars, fabulous make up and clothing. Iselilja aims to stand out as much as possible.

 

@Dark Angel and @Quiet and Insane well, the main reason I wanted to get him is that the armor is soo freaking cool (this reminds me of why I just "had" to buy the Dracula fullset, I might have an addiction with red clothing and chain details). Then I was chatting with JAS101 later the same day and she mentioned how his androgynous face would suit a woman as well... and from there it snowballed. So I'm getting the Red King for his outfit and to make him into a Queen.

Oh dear, the insanity.

Ps. I fell for his nose, eyes and profile, love the hair but it's the wrong color, but since you get an extra head, the possibilities are endless.

 

@Charadas congrats! I also got a Lucifer head with mine, and a little demon (not sure, but I think the little one might be growing on me, because I don't normally collect tinies, but I'm actually pretty tempted to keep him and work him into the story. I'm really excited to see the Red Queen! Do you have a character for her?

@Dark Angel yeah... the armour won me over too... now I just need a lady with armour as well. Or two... three? Yeah. Three. It makes sense in the storyline, and if ringdoll makes more armour like that, Im a goner!

But congrats to everyone who ordered the Red King! He is so impressive! I wish I had the need for an armored guy. Or had unlimited funds and could just order him for the fun of it. I do love that head....but I don't think I need him. I don't really have any characters he could be right now. I cannot wait to see owner photos of him. Plus more Lucifers!! I wish mine would ship. I'm getting down to a teeny wait list, he's one of the only one left.

 

And his cool dreadlocks. He deserves some nice photo shoot .

And yay for more Lucifers. I really do like to see how the same sculpt can look so different.

 

@Chameleon Yes I have! ...but I have no idea how to explain her without sounding like a freaking lunatic

I guess you could say that she's a warrior maiden that went bad. She went out into war with the intention to save her country, but war is messy and complicated and when she came out on the other side she was considered a war criminal and traitor and since everybody told her that was what she was, that is what she became.

Then there's the whole convoluted mess when she meets my Prussian vampire lord Marcus and just refuses to die like a good little human and in the end he makes her a vampire.

And that has to be that, because now I've been rewriting this post for like an hour

 

I did take a really nice photo of him today...but I'll have to post it tomorrow when I have more time. I love the camera in my new phone, it really brings out all the colours I dress him in.

 

I completely understand how tricky explaining characters can be. as another author, actually, none of that sounded insane to me. She soulds like quite an interesting character!

 

Sounds good, pity that colors on my laptop are rather poor ^^; But it will be nice to see him again.

And I finally got my tracking number for my jointed hands and few other things frome Alice's Collections, can't wait. This will be a nice beginning of the 2017

 

@Chameleon thank you for the kind words she is a very tricky character, I like her very much and want to talk about her, but at the same time I don't want to offend any one (oh how Swedish of me).

(I don't know all the places I've told this story yet, but the short version is that the new eyes I ordered in November got shipped to Switzerland instead of Sweden so I got sent a new pair with dhl express delivery that arrived yesterday.)
