I understand Song has a slightly smaller head... around 6" no? Do a search on him and do wait untill you get a confirmation from someone here about his size You don't want something too big

I would think that Song would need a 6-7. My roommate has one, and his head seems to be the same size as her Mei, who also wears a 6-7. My Lan wears a 5-6, and her head is way smaller than either of theirs.

Hey, got a BBB Sprite today (it's my daughter's Christmas present) and the resin was very pink compared to my minifee head. It is an "in stock" item from DDE. I'm wondering if it's one of the "Pink" batches from earlier this year or if I'm gonna have a resin matching problem when my RS body comes in? LOL. I won't fret over it. You know the BBB body only looks pink when compared with the minifee head... it's still a lovely color and a beautiful doll! Wow!

Well, it's getting exciting around here. I won't let my girl see her doll 'till Xmas though

It's not that pink. I have two bobobie bodies that match my MNF heads perfectly, so it could be that it's just discolored.

 

But I thought Fairyland NS resin was quite a bit more yellow than Bobobie and Resinsoul's NS.

 

Nope. It REAAAALLY depends on the batch and when it's made, but in general it seems to be a pretty good match.

The site is sometimes slow yes, especially with loading pictures.

Lan wears a 5/6 wig though, while song has a size larger.

Well, then Mortifox's Normal Skin LittleFee Flora is especially yellow compared to my Bobobie Normal Skin Bei. Both of these dolls are pretty recent, too. My Bei arrived in September, her Flora in October, and this shot was taken only a week after the Flora arrived.

I wouldn't consider that a match at all, but I don't know if that just means I'm much pickier about it or if Fairyland's NS has just gotten darker in their latest batches. (Morti has a few recent Pukis too, and they match the Flora.)


As for the Song wig, going a size up is much easier to handle than a wig too small. A little Velcro or white stickytack can fix that.

 

Basically, I have a NS Resinsoul Mei and I'm interested in replacing her hands with some which are more expressive and more in proportion with her body (her current ones feel too big). It would also help if they pose better and are roughly the same colour as a NS Resinsoul (I suck at blushing).

If anyone has attempted any swaps please could you post pictures and say how it worked out?

There is info in this thread about people who heated and bent the fingers on Bobobie Isabella/March so they were more natural. (I think they used hot water) I guess it's possible the fingers could break but if you were going to replace them anyway you might try it.

Oh wow, that's a pretty extreme mismatch
My MNF heads are pretty recent but the bodies are fairly old I think. Maybe recent+recent is not good.

 

With Song and Lan, when he arrived recently, we tried one of Lan's spare wigs that was too big for her, because it was the right color for him. Unfortunately, we couldn't get it to go on his head, it was much too small. So definitely a 6-7 for him.

Does anyone know if it's possible to get a Song in dark tan as a special request? Thanks It's just not an option on their website nor Bobobies

 

Yeah you can if you ask for it. I've heard that they only do it if you specifically ask for it. I guess its a special colour.

 

Dark tan is ust a really hard color to work with. That much dye is super difficult to get evenly colored when casting, so they only do it for people willing to take thatchance and ask special. ResinSoul and Bobobie are really good about trying to keep it even and nice, though.

 

Yah, there is one in the market place right now (Stella's) but it's the wrong timing! I have carefully laid out plans, LOL. See, my next doll is an IH Tania. Must have her. Then probably Lati Blue Rucas, then I'll be ready for Song, a girl and an MNF El, LOL, it never ends! But that's my current plan.... such as it is... if I can do it, ugh!

I'm 99% sure I've got these right but the blue and grey are hard to be sure of and may need to be switched: clockwise from lower left, white, red, grey, purple, coffee, blue, normal, green, pink.

 

I got an email yesterday from ForMyDoll saying my wig and eyelashes had been posted so when i when the postal van rollled up a few minutes ago I thought: gee that was quick!

The box was a little bit bigger then you'd expect a wig to be in. lol
It's my Ju!!! haha!!! Happy day! Resinsoul didn't notify me so I didn't know she was coming.

Off to open a box!

(Note... would have put this in the RS waiting roombut it's so dead in there you can watch the tumble weeds blow by. Will post there anyway to see if anyone is still lurking.)

 

Oh! I can't wait to see pictures! And you should so inform the people in the BBB waiting room...as that's where most people waiting on RS dolls seem to post now...I think it's just because that room has so many more people in it it's more friendly to post in than the 'dead' RS room.

Newdolfie-bjdowner: I recieved my Ju from Resinsoul yesterday. I can assure you they are a pleasure to deal with. All my emails were answered promptly. Sun, the guy who does customer liasonce even asked me off the bat what eye colour i wanted for my doll. When I suggested two alternatives they sent me both! You also receive a free carry case and brown quilt wrap instead of the gold bag you get through the U.S dealers. (Check the arrivals for Shadowvixen's box opening for a peak at those.) I recieved my Ju in just under 5 weeks of ordering her. I thouroughly recommend them.

 

Took the plunge into MSD and ordered an in stock NS Mei from DDE. Went and posted at the Waiting room so I think I'm all set. Have patterns in hand and looking at who I can scalp for a stand in wig til I see what she's like. Waves about to all and sundry.

 

Hee hee hee congratulations, margikins! I'm stealing my eldest daughter's wig, that I bought for her Obitsu, because it's really too small for it... and I need it, LOL.

I am also really interested in Resin Soul dolls. I love my Bobobie Mei head but just can't live with the body (including the hands). The Resin Soul bodies look much more elegant in the pictures. They also seem smaller, and I wonder if the Bobobie Mei head will look good on the Resin Soul body of the same resin color! I also wondered if any of you know which other companies have bodies that would work on my Bobobie Mei head (e.g. minifee, etc.).

Bobobie Mei IS on a Resinsoul body, unless you special-ordered the Bobobie body. Mei is a Resinsoul sculpt. If the torso only has one joint, it's Resinsoul.

PS, my Resinsoul girl posed better after I hot-glue sueded her legs, particularly.

 

Fairy: Did you order her with the bobobie body? It has a three part torso and is double jointed. Since Mei IS a resinsoul doll, it would look perfect on the slimmer resinsoul body.

 

I got my fingers crossed that the latest resin will be more on the yellowish side / less pink again. I found out from DDE that they're waiting for delivery from BBB for my resinsoul body which should take a while yet. So if I'm lucky, it'll match the Minifee head I have better than my daughter's BBB Sprite would have. Oh fingers crossed.......

BTW, with all the talk about BBB NS looking pink, I want to clarify that it looks very nice, like normal skin. It's not like she's sunburned or something, LOL. But when you're planning a hybrid, well, it used to work with Minifees, but early this year the color changed. I just keep bringing it up because I'm nervous for my hybrid. Either way, she'll have to wear that body, because I don't have money for another So, I'm nervously waiting for that body!!! It'll still be interesting because it will definitely be a sample of the latest resin BBB is using

I ordered my Mei from Junkyspot and she has a horrible (in my opinion) waist joint that won't stay in place (she flops annoyingly). I put kips on her joints (i bought them from Volks USA) and restrung her, but I really dislike the ankle and wrist "joints" - they don't have balls or anything to create a more graceful line. I really think she has a Bobobie body, based on pictures I've seen, although I did not specify a Bobobie body. Also, her hands are huge and awkward, like the pictures. So, if I purchase a new Mei head from Resinsoul, it will be identical to the one I have? Also, the dimensions on the Resinsoul and Bobobie bodies seem very close, yet in pictures they look really different. Any clarification would be greatly appreciated!

It's really weird though... Junkyspot shouldn't have given you a bobobie body.
But yeah, Mei originally belongs on the Resinsoul body, so it's perfectly fine.
The bodies are relatively similar, but only because they are both smaller than normal MSD's. They have about the same size in feet for instance.
But I have both a bobobie and resinsoul body here next to me, and the bobobie is definately more bulky and looks larger. The torso is a bit longer than the resinsoul torso aswell.
And yes, your Mei is a Mei so if you purchase her anywhere else again, it'll be the same head. You can also just order a body from Resinsoul though. Might be a better plan than to get a whole new Mei

 

Not to make you sound uninformed or to poke fun or anything, but are you sure you even have a Mei? Bobobie has their own round of elf girls called Sprite, Pixie, and Ariel, and you may have ended up with one of them instead by mistake. From my knowledge, Mei in particular is never sold on the BBB body, ever, but the other heads by BBB are now sold on either the BBB or RS bodies now. I think it'd be obvious if it were Pixie or Ariel, but maybe not if you got a Sprite.

Whichever happened, something went wrong with the order. If you really want the RS body, then buy it and sell off the BBB one.

 

I agree with Ellanie and Snow; it sounds like a Bobobie body. And it would be very odd for Junkyspot to sell Mei with a Bobobie body. If you thought you ordered Mei, why don't you e-mail Junkyspot about this? Emory has a good rep for dealing with customers.

The hands are very long and thin (alien-looking, someone observed) on the Bobobie body, and there are no S-hooks. But I have a Pixie and Sprite (Bobobie) and a Ju and Jun (Resinsoul) and the Bobobie bodies actually pose better for me, once I tightened the elastic and hot-glue sueded them. I haven't had to restring them. But I HAVE had to tighten them up. Twice <g>. I put a LOT of hot glue in that lower torso joint . . .

 

Fairy: When did you order your Mei? Maybe you ordered her at the same time that someone else had ordered a BBB head, but requested a RS body? I've heard from some people that Emory will make such changes if asked to do so if he has the right head and body in the right colors in stock. So that would mean the the RS head (your Mei as it happens) would have had the BBB body that the other customer didn't want. Either way, she'll look lovely on her own, RS body! And...while they CAN look a tad too big for some people...I think that the BBB heads look darned good on the RS bodies, too. Enough that I've been debating eventually switching out my BBB LT body for a RS LT one for my girl, Shikyo (an Espree) depending on which body keeps her with the proper height compared to her girlfriend once I buy the dolly form of said gf.

Those are really great pictures! In reality, the hands didn't bug me so much at all, and so I'm going to have to double check against those pictures to see if anything has changed recently, but the doll is put away until Christmas, LOL. I definately want to get a pair of MNF hands, though. I really love the way they looked on Snow's girl I just don't know if I'll be able to blush them to match as the BBB doll we got for our daughter is much pinker than the minifee I just got... My fingers are still crossed that my RS body will match my MNF head.... oh man I wonder how much longer it will be

 

I bought a lovely dress from ATsuri on here, and I gave her Mei's measurements and she adjusted to fit, which it does perfectly

My Jun just arrived! I think I am going to name him Jude. I have a wig for him, but I don't really like how it works with his ears so I just ordered a cute purple one from Junkyspot.

 

Okay, so I am getting the new wig and whatnot, but I have now discovered that Jude looks incredibly Christmassy with it!

 

I have my lovely Jolen home. He's a blue Jun that friends of mine plotted for several months to buy for me. he's absolutely gorgeous and I'm in the process of making him a wig. Once I have it done, I'll post a pic of him.

 

Just popping my head in here -- I've owned a WhiteSkin Jun head for a while, but have been having trouble finding a body. The character ended up being physically female, although ze prefers to remain gender-neutral. Here's a shot I took this evening. n_n Hir faceup was done by Tygati, and it is sooo super-sparkly in person. And ze refuses to keep any wigs on. Hmph.

 

I use TWO spots of velcro on the headcap - one on top, one at the back - works like a charm on wigs for Ju and Jun. FWIW.

 

Aleene's tacky glue also works. It'll hold the wig on securely, but if you need to it's easy to peel both wig and glue remnants off the headcap. It's also cheap. A huge bottle will be under $2, and you only need a teeny bit.
