[Adopted] Resin Soul mini discussion (resinsoul) Part 1

That's my same thinking XD I want to get one of these to hold me out for another Fairyland body; however, I have a game plan- I am ordering my fairyland body with the head I despise the most on there in order to assure there is no accidental "love" connections made when I open the box XD BUt for reals, a hundred dollars is worth having an extra body around (you never know when you might need it!)

I really can't wait to see more pictures XD! I was wondering about the eyes as well when I remembered Bobobie. If they really are closely connected, Bobobie's pictures are always plagued by badly set eyes. It doesn't seem to be a problem of mold (everyone I have seen with a sprite has normal set eyes) I think it's just whoever takes the picture XD

 

I've always been in love with the color choices but not the molds of Bobobie dolls. But wow, I'm really liking some of these. I seriously can't wait until 0001 become available/gets more pictures, I love his face.

One of the 44cm dolls is just perfect for one of my characters with a little tweaking. *pokes his big, wide nose* Didn't think I'd find a doll with close facial features that I liked. And I think little 0004 is just adorable.

But yeah the eye thing's been seriously bugging me. XD; Some of those eyes seriously do not look the right size.

I wonder when they're going to get more pictures of all the dolls. I'm waiting anxiously to see some better views on some things.

 

I own 5 Bobobie dolls and they do have some gaps around their eyes where you can see the putty. I recently bought silicone eyes though and that solved the problem.

I am loving the body shot of the 1/4 size boy. It looks like they have finally made beautiful hands for their beautiful dolls! I sense that my dolls will be getting new bodies soon.

 

I find it hilarious when a company misplaces the eyes for their model dolls. Bobobie did that too.... it makes the doll look, less than professional. Heck, many people in the Marketplace do it... You would think the best way to sell your dolls is to have them at least looking great!
That being said... THOSE ARE GORGEOUS DOLLS. the 70cm boys and 0016, totally wishing!

 

0016 is really nice but I like 0018 better. I love both the face and the ears. At some point I might consider 0002 too. If I ever decide to get a boy. (Not sure I'd dare get one boy though. My girls might start terrible fights over him. )


I really wish we could see detailed pictures of the nakid bodies from different ancles.

I have just gotten two Sprites and I like their bodies and their hands. The only thing I don't like is that I think the wrists and ancles are a little too thick. As far as I can see these isn't as bad though.

hey is it me or does model 0001 look like an older version of weylin?

 

I would think Friends2BMade would fit just fine on her. If she's a little smaller than the bodies used for Sprite and such, I think the clothes will actually fit better on her.

I'm wondering, since these are Bobobie dolls as well, if the hands could be put on the older 43cm bodies. If so, I hope one day they'll offer them as separate parts. They look a lot more poseable than the older hands (still like the older ones though; there's just something about them that's...special).

Bobobie hands bother me too, it's because they are too straight (my old Bobobie Isabella's hands were improved a lot with a mug of hot water and some gently bending! )

 

I plan to mess with Gabriel's hands and a teapot, myself... I want them to be a little more "grippy" so he can hold some of the accessories I've been finding for my kids.

Looking at the forums, you might be able to request a set of new hands to put on an existing doll... I saw where someone was requesting a new chest piece and they replied they were able to do it. Never hurts to ask!

What I'm really hoping for, as they make these new sculpts, is to see some elves with longer ears... I have a couple of characters with long elf ears I'd like to make, and I'd love to get a couple of Dark Tan Bobobie/Resin Soul dolls to make them...

babytarragon, since you've done reshaping... did the heat affect the color of the resin at all?

 

It didn't change the colour, though I was expecting it to. I didn't use boiling water, just very hot water. I did short dips and bent them bit by bit to make sure they didn't melt too much and end up covered in my fingerprints!

 

I like the new dolls a lot ! My sprite needs a boyfriend ! I would like to see pics of the "old" and new 42cm girls body together, my Unoa faceplate needs a body hope Bobobie wil put up some pics soon.

 

has anyone bought and received one of these dolls? I think they are gorgeous and I was wondering if they are a good quality doll since they seem to be less expensive than other ones I have been looking at?

I have fallen completely in love with Mei. I'm going to get her in lilac one day. How darling would she be with a pink Lan?! I actually saw these on the Bobobie site for the first time and didnt realize this was a new company. I'm really looking forward to hearing if these bodies can be used with the U-noa face plates too. I would be beside myself with joy if that worked out...

I've been thinking I want a girl to spoil and dang...$150 (with faceup) for an MSD...that's even cheaper than my AOD when they first came out! I hope that this company gets good reviews, because I'd definitely be interested in ordering from them!

 

I'm sure that the quality will be great, just like Bobobie's!

 

I would think the quallety is very similar to Bobobie. I bet it's the same resin they use. I have 4 MSDs, one DollZone, one Lati and two Bobobie. None of them are in the more expensive end but my Lati is actually the one who's body I like the least. The DollZone girl - I just adore her body. The resin is so smooth and wonderful and she poses so great. She can sit on a box or something with her legs together and all in all I think she poses very naturally. The Bobobies poses almost as well - or they will when I have tightened one of them. I have to admit that the joints doesn't look completely as perfect as my DollZone girl and I think their wrists and ancles are a little thick - but the body the new dolls have doesn't seem to have that flaw. However I still really like them and think they are beautiful. I love the resin almost as much as my DollZone girl.

All in all I would think that a 400$ MSD most likely IS a better quallety but Bobobies are really really good quallety for the money and they are not bad at all.

All this is of course just my opinion and there's most likely people who will strongly dissagree with me. That's quite okay.

I actually found that I liked my AOD doll's body better than the MNF body (for the short period of time I had one), so more expensive doesn't always mean better in my opinion ^_^

Does anyone know if they've fixed the shopping cart thing? I saw in the news post that their carrying case is now free!! (for a limited time) That would most definitely seal the deal for me, since I don't have one and Storm would likely fit in there comfortably with the doll I'd order (Mei)

 

I just got confirmation that my doll has been shipped, with tracking number which seems to be working -- she's a white skin Mei, no faceup. I only ordered her several days ago, a week or so tops, I think...so that's really quick turnaround.

I had her sent to my school address, so although in my experience EMS ships in a matter of days, I probably won't have pictures and a report until Sep 3 or 4. I'll be sure to let you guys know how things go

Now to start hunting down a faceup artist

Does anyone think that the boy (Song) is pictured in the "coffee" skin color? Normally I don't really take to "tan" dolls, but this is a very pretty color...

IMHO its not "coffee" skincolor but NS the first pic is a little dark but I have a Bobobie March in their skincolor "Light tan" both companies are offering the same colors. Here's a pic of my March in Light Tan; its a creamy kind of "coffee with lots of milk" color very nice ! she poses next to my Sprite with Pink skincolor.
I really like the boy elf Song my Sprite needs a boyfriend! I think of ordering him in the Light Tan color (IRL its a little darker color as on the pic)

When you compare that to Song, he's definitely darker...but there's no "light tan" option on their pull-down menu, so I assumed since it's not white or normal, that the next option would be coffee.

Either way I'll definitely be getting Mei, and Song will probably wait until a little later

I'd probably be very interested! (If you're doing a group order for dolls ^^) Although I'm still trying to figure out how to get that bag for free *wantwantwant* I need a carrying case x.x;;

 

Aeryn, your pink sprite is AWESOME! I have a Sprite in normal with pink hair. Her name is Lily and I love her! (She's currently the most spoiled of my dolls.) I am surprised how lovely that pink resin is. I was considering a Lan in the pink. Now I'm more than considering it!!!

Jade, which bag do you mean? My Sprite came in a yellow satin bag that was included... Is there another bag I dont know about? If you mean the $30 carry bag, I am sure I could get that at the 5% discount too which isnt free but it's less than $30.

I'll start a thread in group orders to feel out interest there.

 

I would think that coffee is the same colours as Bobobie calls light tan. It's not that much darker than normal skin just like a light sun tan. Here's my Sprites Eydis (in green) is NS and Hekla (in yellow) is light tan.



I really like both NS and LT very much. The NS is very similar to DollZone NS Pink but a little lighter.


It's funny how everyone seems to be in love with Mei. I'm in love with Ju. Just gotta love those ears!

Aeryn, you obviously have excellent taste! The Unoas are some of my favorite dolls. I'm hoping to hear from someone if the Unoa colors work with any of the Bobobie or ResinSoul bodies because I would love to make one...

 

It's the one on the ResinSoul website that the rep. said would be free for the next 30 days or so...I asked how to add that to the order, but um...didn't get a reply that really answered my question If I can sort that out, I might actually do the order myself. ^^;

 

I've ordered Mei!!! It turns out if you order a doll within the next 30-ish days you'll receive the carrying case for free automatically.

I really wanted Song as well, but I have some other financial payments that I need to get out of the way before I order him...and also I figure it would be a good idea to make sure I like these dolls before ordering another

I might might *might* go in and get Song as well if you really need another person in the Group Order (though he'd have to wait on his amenities since I've already bought new eyes and a wig for my girl). I'll be sure to keep track of how things are going for your group order.

 

I have decided that I'm getting a Ju and ordering her on Friday. (When I get my next pay)

It would be stupid for me to be in the group order though since I'm in Europe.

I received my mini Bao in the mail today.

I'm very pleased with him. He has nice details on his body and face. His hands and feet or nicely sculpted. His resin is smooth and he has no seams. They either sanded him before they sent him or the mold is so tight that the seams are not noticable.

His skin is a little on the pink side (I think) but it's creamy and even.

He's strung a little tightly but with a little loosening up I think he will pose quite well. As it is now he keeps hitting himself in the face, but the body stands well!

I ordered the factory face up and I'm happy with that too, although I blushed his cheeks and added some freckles.

All in all I think he's a very well made doll and I would buy from the company again.

About the colour: My NS Sprite is a colour that's very similar to my DollZone NS Pink girl only the Bobobie resin is slightly lighter.

I have a question if you don't mind. If you bend him a little forward in the torso joint can he sit without leaning backwards? Perhaps even with his knees and feet together?


I ordered a purple Ju today. I also ordered some eyes from EyeCo and wigs from Tinybear. I'm so excited!

He sits up straight without bending his torso. He can't cross his legs but he can cross his ankles. Hope that helps!

 

Oh, wow, he's adorable! He was tempting me before, but now he's made my official want list! Thanks for sharing those pictures, and I'm surprised at how quickly he arrived.

 

That's wonderful! Seems like he has a great body. If the MSDs has just as great a body I'm one happy camper. Thank you so much elfmoon. Now I'm even more looking forward to my Ju.

The head is attached to the body with an S hook. The head cap has a resin hook at the top and at the bottom of the head is a magnet.

Forgive me if everyone knows that already, but this is my first S hook doll!

Normally I like smaller dolls, but this guy is GORGEOUS (although I don't really care for the wigs that they're using in the promo pictures). I'd love to see more of how the body positions and what not...but pretty pretty pretty....

if I wasn't already getting Song and Mei, I'd be so doomed...

From the pictures, Stella, it just looks like the skin tone to me... Both have the same ears, and the same facial features. I love Mei, she's so pretty. I'm really looking forward to getting her in lilac!

 

Yeah, it confused me though because the girl with the long elf ears looks as if she has the same or similar face, just those crazy long ears! I meant Ju, but maybe I am wrong, looking closer she looks a lot like Song.

 

So I jumped off the deep end and ordered both Bei and Bao this afternoon. I slobbered for them for 3 weeks and I couldn't hold out any longer. They look like siblings to me and I thought they'd be lonely if I split them up. OK that's silly but they do seem meant for each other -- to me anyway. I already have a couple ideas for pairs of costumes (wood sprites, fairies, and steam punk). This will be fun!

My husband spotted Long (ha ha BTW) and the white skin Mei. He wonders why I didn't go for them, but Bei and Bao stole my heart. I'm still making up my mind about Long. I like my men a bit more sturdy, but he's an elf, so slender makes sense. I must admit, if I were to experiment with different doll sizes, these prices are definitely an incentive. Cross my fingers, I hope they last for awhile. ^_^

 

I can't make up my mind about the skin tone I want for song >.< I really like the tan tone in the promotional picture, but I still haven't gotten a clear answer over whether or not that is indeed the "coffee" skintone - I don't want to order something and have it not be what I wanted

 

That would be a shame, I agree. I would suggest writing "haodoll" their DoA representative but his replies aren't always very clear. Still, maybe it's worth a try.

 

Jade, I'll try to get an answer for you as well since you're with the group order. It's good for me to know as well because I have suddenly developed a leaning for the tan and chocolate dolls. At least I think those are the skin tones I like!!!

I was wondering about the two different mei's listed as well but I think they are the same doll, just different skintones as you said bronwen.....I think i am definitely going to get her in blue, she looks beautiful, but i'd like to see some more owner pics too
