yeei!! congrats!!

 

He's here!
My Bel Canto arrived back this morning. Ticuk has done a fantastic face up for him, I'm really pleased!
(But for now he is stuck in his box as I don't have any eyes or wig to fit his very small head....... I've just been having a taobao shopping spree to fix this problem, so hopefully he will get some eyes and hair in about a week! )

derilan85, Dralexina, paxita - thanks! So happy you like him. Ticuk did an amazing job again. His eyes and wig are ordered so hopefully he will be ready for more photos in a couple of weeks.

 

@Sylphe_7 I'm so excited for you! I just got in my Lacrimosa's wigs in today! They're both Leekeworld and one's white and one is slate gray. ^^


His hair is a bit thinner than I thought it would be in the white wig...

Those wigs look good! Yeah, the white one does look a bit thin, but maybe you can arrange it so it doesn't show? I like the colour of the grey one.

I ordered Luce, back in november last year when IOS released him and I received him earlier this month. But as i am still studying overseas, i havent had the chance to meet him in person >.< But my friends decided to drop by my place earlier today to check the package for damages and the faceup (i ordered a custom faceup from IOS) and they sent me a picture of him.... i just fell in love with him all over again

The only thing i dont like about him is the new IOS 70 body... The body he is on was ment for my twins but the new body is too small for the old heads >.< ... Kinda makes em look like bobble head dolls... -sigh-

Yeah. I have this problem over IOS new small sizes with the Bel Canto head. It's smaller than a normal 70cm size, so it's going to be a bit small on the body I have for him I think. I'll have to see how it looks when his eyes and wig arrive and hopefully it will be Ok. I wish they hadn't changed the sizes though.

@Sylphe_7 : I've mailed IOS about it since i got my twins in 2014 when IOS announced that they were discontinuing the heads... and have been waiting for bodies since then >.< ... I'm really hoping that they will bring back the old bodies ... but that would probably take a miracle ^^" ... The new body is really light as compared to the old ones... Its like half the weight, according to my friends. They were quite shocked by it xD Seems like IOS is also cutting back on the amount of resin they use per dolls D: ....

My luce's head is really small too! It looks like they lowered the crown a fair bit... >.< ...

 

Luce looks really good with that faceup, was it extra for the custom face paint? I only hope they bring back the older bodies, but until they do, which I doubt, I will have to settle for my Osiris to be a hybrid instead.

 

They didnt charge me extra for the custom faceup ^-^ Just the standard faceup price on top of the doll.

I've actually asked if they would bring the old bodies back but im still waiting for a reply from them :/ ... Ill let u guys know when i get a reply ~ *fingers crossed*

 

Hmm. Yeah. Before I ordered Bel Canto head I was surprised by the small size listed so I checked with IOS and they said that was correct. But in person he seems even smaller than the measurements. I've had to order new wig cap and face protector as well as wig and eyes because even the stuff for my 62cm Migidoll guy's head is way too big for him. I kind of feel they shouldn't be listing these sculpts and bodies as 70cm any more because it's a bit misleading. They are definitely not the size of a usual 70cm sculpt from other companies and it messes up hybrid and clothes plans.

 

oh...I was thinking in Blue as a boyfriend for my Sezz, but now I'm worried for this new head size, mmm and I don't remember if Blue has a small head too, so any comparision pics betwen Blue and other old IOS head please? thanks in advance, I'll very grateful

Hey y'all
Another question popped into my head recently.

As I've mentioned before I bought some heads back in the day when IOS lied to us (yes, I will firmly say that it was lying especially since we haven't even received an apology, explanation or compensation) about the discontinuation.

However, those heads have only been laying in their boxes (been taken up once just to see that they're the right sculpts) and never been fiddled with. I am not sure what to do with them right now.
I was planning on giving them faceups and stuff once I have bodies but as funds are low atm I am thinking that maybe it's better to sell them and get full dolls later since all the sculpts are bought are still being produced.
What do you think? Is there even a market for the old ones (I hear new white and new ns being mentioned so I'm guessing mine are of the old type) .
I'm thinking that once I have the funds it might be even harder to find bodies because that won't happen in the near forseeable future (I am a student again, and recently blew a lot of money on vet bills).

Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.
Cause I would probably give them faceups if they aren't sellable (I still want the sculpts, after all) but if I can sell them now and make it easier on finding myself full dolls with matching bodies later on that sounds like a better option.

paxita - I don't know about Blue. It says on the IOS site that the head is 8". That's the same it says for Bel Canto and he is smaller than the old 70cm heads. Hopefully someone that has a Blue will be able to tell you if that's correct.

TornadoLovesMelody - hmm. That's difficult. I guess there's not too much market for the IOS sculpts that are still available unless you can sell to someone local so they will save on shipping fees? Or you are prepared to sell them cheaper?
I don't know if the resin has changed. I have Osiris (called new normal) from the discontinued time and Bel Canto from November 2015 (normal) and they are the same.

The "new normal" resin matches the old heads without a problem. But the old heads would yellow a little if u get the bodies too late. O recently got the new 70cm body for the heads i bought during the "discontinuation" period and the resin match was 99%, given that the old heads were never exposed to the sun.

The only u might have tho, would be that the older heads are too big for the new body... If u were planning on getting the 70cm ones i mean xD

 

Yeah. I am a bit worried about that. I still haven't figured out why they had to go and make the body smaller in general. That same body just blown up a bit would've been prefectly fine. Heh.
Will have to keep my eyes peeled for old 70cm bodies.

What bodies are you getting ?

 

I'm planning to get a Dikadoll 73cm ver3 body for my Osiris to replace the body he has now.

Then my plan for Bel Canto was to put him on my Doll Leaves 67cm body (that's one that my Migidoll has at the moment and get a Doll Family H 65cm body for my Migidoll). Bel Canto and the Doll Leaves body are a perfect resin match, but I'm kind of worried now that the body will be too big! It's shorter than a standard 70cm, but has big shoulders. I need to wait for his wig and eyes to turn up and put him on the body to see how it looks. But the Doll Family H sale is only for a few more days so.... arrgghhh!

Btw, i've gotten a reply from IOS in regards to the old 70cm bodies... They said that the cast for it is too badly damaged and they cant use it anymore >.< Judging from their reply, it seems that it is highly unlikely that they would bring the old bodies back :/ ...
