[Adopted] Immortality of Soul: Discussion Part II!

Here is Kaname at last (I almost didn't get good lighting today!). His eyes are Glib 14mm acrylic's in Red Hazel.

I love that, batchculture! The two are really different, so it depends on what you're going for. Some day I want to raid Crobi for everything they've got. XD Just gorgeous. The wig you found there is very soft and pretty; the other one is kinda wild and rocker-ish. So I think it depends on his personality and clothing style, as you imagine them. I think I'm liking the Crobi better for an S. Maybe because S has a sweet face and so does that Crobi doll!

 

Thank you so much for posting this picture. Kaname is so gorgeous ! And the eyes are perfect for him. I think I'll also go for 14mm ones. I like the softer look - it really suits him.

Thank you Fin! I think I might end up ordering both wigs and let my 'S' decide, when he gets here. Initially, I imagined him all sweet, soft and natural. Now that his personality develops, he seems to be quite the character. Quiet but opinionated - it's almost as if the concept of him is whispering to me already. This is so much fun!

That's a good idea, really. When I ordered from ringdoll he took 9 months to get to me. In that space I bought him 6 wigs! Turns out only 2 of those looked decent on him but they were too big. Be careful. 1/3 wigs can go up to 24cm and that's pretty huge for some dolls! You definitely don't want to be stuck with the wrong size and not have a doll to put the wig on at all. That's much worse than getting eyes that don't show the amount of color vs. white that you want.

 

Oh - good point! And an excellent excuse to buy more than one wig. I remember Macaron Tea saying that it was quite difficult to find a fitting wig for Kaname.

 

Ooh Kaname's gorgeous, MacaronTea. He looks so refined. And oh, batchculture you're going to have so much fun. It's awesome when the character starts talking to you...giving you ideas, snippets of backstory and personality... it's what really makes this hobby come alive I think.

 

Indeed, Kaname has gone through three wigs now. The first one was the right color but really too small (despite if I was very patient I could get it on), the second just did not work on any level for the original look intended and the third and current one is juuust right. :3


I snagged a photo of Toru this morning; It's cloudy and I found him deep in thought over the proofs from his latest fashion shoot.

So is this new guy another 80cm? I can't remember if it said or not. He looks like one anyway.

A question about the 70cm guys, do they all take the same size wig? I think I read earlier in the thread that 7-8 was the right size... is that correct?

Apparently his name is Stille, as he has his own sales post up on the site now. ^_^ I'm not a big fan of this sculpt, but I like the way he was styled for the photo shoot. Those little hand warmers are the best!

 

My Jaguar wears an 8-9. There's no way I'd be able to get a 7-8 on him!

 

I love the new 80 cm guy!! but like mier said they're a little too big for me as well...

he totalley looks like he should wearing some hippie clothes because he looks a tad stoned to me lol

 

I looove love love him even more! That's a definite buy for me.
I think he has a sweet and gentle smile. Plus I love the manly features. It's hard to find good looking yet manly doll heads.

Wish they would tell us when he's going up for sale! I'm drowning in drool here.

 

damn I shouldn't of looked at his sale pics! aaaaaargggg I wish this new boy wasn't 80 cm or I would really think about getting him (80 cm bodies in general are too buff for my taste). I think I like him even more than chaso! I.O.S. has the greatest smiling dolls ever. I love how they can pull off more real looking scuplts and the crazy stylized ones as well...

 

IOS updated. He's up for sale on the 31st. Very sexy guy. I will look forward to owner pictures.

Hi Dirili! You don't have to wait. According to the info on Facebook, the sale of Stille starts on the 31st of October!

I absolutely jinxed myself. The day before he was released, I was telling some friends on Facebook how I'd adore one of the 80cm boys, but I wasn't pulled in enough by the current sculpts to get one, and that I'd wait for the new one... I figured it was going to be quite some time.

Then yesterday, I saw him 6 minutes after IOS posted him on Facebook and I threw a little hissy fit xD He's is beyond beautiful and I absolutely need this one!

... but now is one of the worst times, financially! >.<

 

Hey guys! a question if i may, how much were the class 60's last time they were released? im looking to maybe get a M in January next year and was just looking for a guesstimate at what his cost would be. Thanks ^^

i only discovered IoS last night so im still trying to figure everything out. Are the bodies good? Iv seen a heap of hybrids, is this because the IoS bodies are not that great? Does anyone have jointed hands on their boys? sorry for the many questions ><

 

Hm, I think there are a lot of hybrids because for a while IOS was only selling heads.

 

My boy is a hybrid because I couldn't afford a full doll when he came out. From the pictures, it looks like the IoS body is the same in design as the Luts SSDF At least they look the same to me.

 

mine will be a hybrid because I have wanted an excuse to get a spirit proud body for some time and... I will shortly have my shadow head!!!! Nicky will be on his way home sometime later this week! I'm so happy! Now I just gotta save up for his body!

I wonder if IOS opens their sales right after midnight Korean time. My impression was that the Anarmonia sale opened quite early as well. Hmmm .... that would mean that I could start checking at 8pm local time on the day before the release date.

 

hehe yeah, that's why I checked early too in case the sale started exactly at midnight. I was checking Soom when they did the free choice event too, but no such luck with them. Not that I was worried about anyone getting sold out in either case, I'm just crazy and over-eager.

 

Stille looks incredibly like Shinohara, the psychopath in the comic "In These Words". >_>

 

The last Class 80 man took about 5-7 to sell out I believe, but the Class 60s went quiet quickly during the last sell from what I remember. Something like 1-2 days I think? Just depends on how popular the sculpt is, plus if it's new or re-release.

Yikes... I didn't consider limited quantities of basics. I kind of imagined their class 80s as limited edition dolls, but if there's such a brief window for every sale... Going to have to be very careful and stalk that site!

 

He could be for a while. No telling how popular he will be. Anarmonia was available for a whole month.

 

I meant for the other dolls. The only one I'm really after is S. I was getting the impression all IOS's releases are for a few days and they're gone, not that they'll provide as many as requested in the month of rerelease.

 

YAY look who came in the mail today! Now I just need to save for his body. It will take evrey bit of my willpower not to give him a face up before I do his body. I know the resin will be a really good match but I still want to make sure that I can blush both together so there is no difference in coloring. Especially with how extensive all the veining and broken blood vessels will be. Gha so excited!

He's a year old so I have NO IDEA which white he is but.... I do know that going by what I have and have seen.... he should match. I'm getting him a spiritdoll proud body XD He is going to be a beast! OMG I can barely stand it! I have to make him some eyes now too. I already have his wig. So excited. I'm going to have to make a lot of very... proper black clothes for him too. I was just getting a handle on making dolly sized bdsm pants but NoooOOO, Nicky has gotta be a punk and want everything just so .

 

Yeah - proper won't do if he's a punk! It should be fun designing the outfit. I am looking forward to the first pictures.

shoujo He'll be released as Keiji in January as far as I know, but he'll be more expensive. Other than that, IOS doesn't say when/if they'll rerelease any of their sculpts.

 

Hi, does anyone know what's going on with Stille? I heard that there was a copyright issue but that they're going to see him under a different name in Jan. What copyright issue, is there any info on his new price? Where is this info even written down. I hope someone can help, I adore that sculpt

 

Sephy_Kiriyama It was in an e-mail sent to people who have purchased Stille. Apparently, IOS used Guilty Pleasure's Keiji (whoever that is) as insipration for Stille. Ans now that they encountered the copyright issue, they decided to sell him as Keiji with an outfit made for the character also. We don't know of prices right now...

 

ooooh I just realized he was inspired by Keiji now I'm more in love with him specially he'll be released officially as him TT__TT OMG what should I do he's too big to fit with my collection but too darn hot to miss!

Those who ordered Stille will still get him, if they don't wish to wait for Keiji. It just means that anyone else who might want him will have to pay more.

 

I'm soooo glad I got Stille before the whole Keiji fiasco started.
I'm not crazy about yaoi so I'm ever so slightly put off that Stille's inspired by a yaoi character, but I'll get over it once I start painting him myself.

 

I'd heard of Guilty Pleasure but never read it. That picture of Stille that shoujo posted reminds me a bit of Klaus from Maiden Rose another BL manga. I can't wait to see his renewal.

 

Now I totalley understand why Stille was a 80 cm, those guys are BUFF! No wonder I really liked him, it seems like all the anime/manga inspired heads I'm really drawn to.

now I don't want to stir the pot buuuuuut can we have the sames problems with jaguar, shadow, or chaos since they, well, look just like people from bleach? It would kinda suck to have to pay extra or even not be able to re-release those heads anymore...

 

askura_langley I'm guessing that either Kubo didn't want to bother or he hasn't fount out yet. In which case, he probably won't find out since it's been a long while since the release of those dolls.
