[Adopted] Dollmore Lusion Discussion - Part IV!

Jun 4, 2012

    1. Awww, congrats on your girl shironami2376 ! ^_^ <3 She's truly lovely~
And oh, Kitty Blue, thanks for those photos :) I really love both your Lusion girls <3 I'm always so happy to see photos of these lovelies and hearing from others, it really does make my waiting time less painful :D

    2. XD She isnt exactly something you'd think about when you think of Lusions. I love Klaire :D But if I were ever get her I would make her into a man but i couldn't do any mods because shes so expensive. XD Yeah I need a Big man doll lol. You would think Dollmore would make them since look how popular both Trinities and Lusions are.

    3. there have been so many times from what I heard that people keep asking about a boy Lusion still hasn't happened yet, last word they told someone they will send the suggestion to their designer. We'll see. I heard a few people say that Klaire looks very manly, but she is rather beautiful, though in this hobby most of the time (not always) you can get away with a head sculpt being either or. A man Trinity would be pretty sweet..I would be sooo doomed.

    4. Thats good to know the people want it. I think more people need to keep bugging Dollmore about it. I find that if you bug a company enough and enough people do it they will have to give in. in my mind it would be pretty easy to make a boy version. Just Thicken the bodies and stuff :)

I will have to send an email to Dollmore about boy trinities and Lusions :) I would love to see them even if it will be a while after I get my Orgel who I am naming Penance. I just would love to have her father at some point because I can't shake this perfect scene I want to take a picture of. I'm calling it "Tea time with Death" because Penance's father is Death. XD I have a whole story behind her.

We all will be doomed by giant boys :D I have considered the thought in trying to sculpt one XD Who knows when that will happen.

    5. Fush, I hope they make that Doll for you someday...I want to see that picture. That would be great.

    6. Hahahaha, I was the last person to ask dollmore about a boy Lusion! I was disappointed about their answer. I think we should all just keep bugging them about it. I already so love my Daish!! She's amazing! She's the regular Basic, "tell me Daish" The more I play with her the more I want to just pack her around with me everywhere! hahaha. Here's another pic! PS: anyone on the Facebook group, I'm Jenna Bonbon! <3

    7. Oh your girl is so lovely looking. XD Shame I don't have a facebook but I will never join... I have trust issues with facebook. So I do hope to pay off my girl sooner then the layaway is for... Possibly by Jan or Feb since shes on the 1 year layaway hmm

    8. shironami2376, I noticed these pictures in the facebook group already but i must say that they're really so cute, that girl is so sweet<3 I'm Maria Marquis in facebook, you will most likely see more of me (and my better half, Mosse Lucia Manninen) after we get our Dahlia, right now there isn't so much to spam about even though we do our best XD

    9. She looks ready to....go to Woodstock although for that, she'd need bare feet. Love this!

    10. quick question ladies and gents.... Do we know if a standard children US size 1 dress will fit Dahlia?

    11. Hey Jenna *waves* does your Daish have a name? To cut down confusion I always go by Kitty Blue even in person..lol :kitty2

Whitewings: it would probably be quite baggy on her, they are still slim like a doll..narrow shoulders and small waist, you'd probably have to alter it. hmmm I should dig up some 12 month clothing vs 3 month clothing/ect and do a comparison if I have any that is that haven't been altered. Of course that all depends on how you want her to look, I personally like a more fitted look.

    12. Thank you!!! I found a dress on Ebay that I adore, sadly out of size 0/00 I could alter it without too much fuss as its an a-line bodice..... Would be awesome if you could let me know how big a difference I'd be looking at :)

    13. The size 1 dresses through the shoulders are too big, but if it's sleeveless and shapeless, you can get away with them. I think six to eight months work better.

    14. I have 2 Dahlia's Shinku and Mariahere is a pic of them

    15. yay bikinis!

Hmmm I think no sleeved dresses make it look even bigger because of the large arm holes, but they are definitely easier to alter than long sleeved stuff. Anyway here is a quick photos I took this morning. The summery dress is a 6month and the other shirt is 12month. You can see even on the 6month dress the armholes are pretty big...luckily this has a tie around the waist so it doesn't look that big on her when its tied. The shirt you can see that the sleeve cap/line is quite a ways down her shoulder...its not a bad look but again its all personal preference and how you'd like to dress her up. Hope these helped a little.

    16. they do look pretty, Brad....but need pareos or something, to complete their look. But summery and cute, too.
As to yours, Kitty? Also very pretty and who is paying that much attention to arm holes, right?

    17. Me - unfortunately. It bugs me if the fit isn't right.

I either end up altering stuff (which doesn't get finished so I might as well not bother, or is such a big job that I might as well sew clothes from scratch) or relegating it to the "unusable" or "someday-projects" piles, in which case I might as well not have bought it in the first place.

Fortunately, since Daisy Bacon is an old-fashioned girl, I'm not tempted by modern baby-clothes very often, and a couple of the "unusable" baby dresses and skirts (got cheap in charity shops) which I went off using for Daisy, were good candidates for remaking into dresses for my SD girls, so didn't go entirely to waste.

I have a pile of fabrics that I keep intending to make into Lusion outfits, but haven't started yet - she has several baby outfits that do work, some Boneka dresses, a couple of actual Dollmore Lusion dresses and a grand total of one dress I've sewn for her, poor neglected girl that he is.

Here's the one I made her:
And even this was intended to be the trial-version to see if I had the pattern the right size.

      Teddy

    18. She looks quite beautiful. And not so neglected, with her shoes just so and her shiny wig which is perfect on her. The Lusions go so well with antique dolls as you have found too. Great work!

    19. I've been so good about not buying one of these girls...until today. I just couldn't help myself. I thought I would join this thread to look until my Snow Dahlia arrives. Four months or so you think?

    20. lol...yea I gotta agree fit bugs the heck out of my...guess its the designer/seamstress in me that is nit picky about the fit of clothing..but of course everyone has their own styles they like, I just put Oakley in another dress that I got a while back I think its a size 9 month, will have to try to upload it later.

    21. Oh, Dollmore takes a lot less time than that. Their standard production time is around two months, I think. That's how long it's taken for most of my Dollmore gang to ship. Except my very first one. He took exactly one week from time of order to time of shipping. Custom faceup and everything! :XD:

Of course, I'd ordered HIM way back in 2007, so... lol

    22. I planned on the quoted three months. I ordered just before going out of the country for six weeks, so that I would be distracted fro most of the wait period.... and they shipped her within three WEEKS so she arrived while I was away and I had to make international telephone calls in order to pay the customs charges and arrange delivery to someone who would keep her safe for me until I returned - what a nightmare.

Which is a long-winded way of saying, I hope your wit will be shorter than you expect.

      Teddy

    23. Poor Teddy, but Lin, Ice is worth any wait. She might be Dollmore's most beautiful Lusion, stunning and can wear lots of clothes, but is gorgeous in pink, in particular.

    24. I can hardly wait, but trying not to think about it. I always plan on the longest possible time for them to arrive and then if they come sooner, I am thrilled. I will be ecstatic if she comes in three weeks. For this girl I may actually pull out my sewing machine and make her some clothes. Is there any source for some little brown ankle boots besides Dollmore? I noticed yesterday that they are presently sold out. I'm thinking of naming her Ella after my grandmother.

Edit: I emailed my friend Kat yesterday to tell her that I impulsively ordered a Lusion and she informed me that she had just bought two of them the day before. Weird.

    25. Once upon a time, I had seven....they are rather addictive, I'm afraid.

I understand that, but in a strange way, they take up less room than regular BJDs, as they can sit on chairs and couches and can stand nicely in a corner inconvenient for people...I got one and then I saw her long lost sister and then that was it...Done!

    26. Ella will absolutely be an only child. I do not have enough room for siblings; besides, she probably will not want to share her dolls with anyone. ;)

    27. No more Lusions for me either (although I'd love Lillia)

I had to "have a clear-out" and shed 21 of my other dolls before I was allowed to order such a large doll... Even so, now Daisy Bacon is here, it's a tight squeeze:

    28. cannot resist posting a picture of my favorite elf Lusion, who belongs to the beautiful Amy, wearing my wig, so proud...

    29. Just took a photo of my 2 Lusions and Trinity together this morning...have a photo shoot I need to get to so I'll have to post it later..I can't wait until I get my Lumie at Dollism and my Mokashura comes in...I'll then have to take one of all of them.
7 is always a lucky number for me..lol..so maybe some day I'll get a Elysia and Jude and possible Daish..then hope they don't come out with anymore sculpts...EVER..lol. I thought it would only be one of each but these big girls are so intriguing and oh so much fun to dress up and make clothing for its hard to resist.

    30. Kitty Blue I will be at Dollism! You have to lug your girl over to see me, I will be working at the Jpop sales table.

    31. Keep those photos coming! I love seeing them. Wonderful creatures!

Teddy, I have a few extraneous dolls that need to move on too. I just need to gather my wits enough to deal with them.

    32. There were two Lusions at Austin, kudos for those who brought them.
I was thinking of selling my Trinity, but changed my mind. You are right strangely they do take up less room lol

    33. It looks great on her

Good luck with that - I find it hard to part with a doll once they join the family (it seems so... disloyal.. to them!!!) - and the few that I really don't bond with often take forever to move on as I'm not very good at getting around listing them for sale so it's often chance sales in-person at meets etc. that actually get them moving. For my Lusion girl, I had to make the effort and list a load of my dolls/bears/doll-stuff on E-bay, and most of it was pre-BJD ones that I wasn't sure why I had them in the first p-lace, or had never really fit in here.

    34. Hey Lin,

Thought I'd be an 'enabler' AGAIN. I think your Snow Ella is most DEFINITELY going to NEED a sister. Heh, she can learn to share and besides you don't want her lonely with no one her size to relate too. ^_______~

Your Elf girl is beyond LOVELY. That wig is just perfect for her and such a cute dress. Yes, saw those two Lusion girls at the BJDcon in Austin . . . I spent the next three days at Dollmore after that trying to decide . . . :D

    35. No, no, and no! I'll buy her some toys; she'll be fine.

    36. *ebil laugh* Wait til we get them . . . and then decide? Ne?

    37. ah ha ha ha ha, yes, decisions! I think if I had it to do over again, I would have got the elf. Sadly she is not mine, she is amillerhaha's, I just enjoy her, and make wigs for her. My Dahlia, Stella Noel is only human.

    38. Oooh, pictures ! <3 They're always so lovely to see, please keep them coming everyone ;) We will also be posting pictures soon: our girl is arriving in a few days ! ^_^ Yay~ She will be named Bambi :)

    39. Thanks everyone for the super informative feedback on the kids clothing sizes for my Requiem Dahlia!! I went ahead and ordered the size 1 off ebay - I know I'll have some alterations to do for sure. Its a Victorian styled dress with Pouffe Sleeves so its going to take a bit of work :)

    40. I'm not sure if they are going to be using her as a display...the wording is kinda vague on the info about the event it says some dolls will be on display. It also says something about them participating in Room Sales...hmm wonder if they will have items on sale or just regular priced.

    41. Wow she is stunning! I wish dollmore would offer the elf in white skin! I'm so torn over getting a Elf or white skin version.

    42. The elf is a really different and amazing version IMO.
