Shiba801, I have a Nangong, and I've seen some others, they are just not easy to find. Would be very interesting to see your Nangong!

I have 4 DF dolls now, here they are - DF-H practice head, DF-H Nangong, DF-A Fox, DF-A Yu Zhe. I've never seen another Yu Zhe, but others are not very common as well.

His name is Noah. He recently just got a new faceup. He has freckles but its not obvious in the picture.

I'm really starting to wish I'd gotten a Wei Xu head instead of An Ping. Hopefully I change my mind when he arrives but I feel like my Julian head is going to be quite similar to him. We'll see, I would hate to have buyers regret! Q_Q


Maybe it's just because I haven't made a character for him yet, but I'm working on that now and I think that will help with that, because I really do like the sculpt!

So now that people are actually reading this thread again...
does anyone ever take their big dolls places for photos? What do you use as a carrybag?
I have a Doll Family A Chenxi (that's 75cm, but there's no discussion thread for that that I've found!) And sometimes I do bring him places, but not too often because he's heavy, and doesn't fit in any bags I have...and plus, everyone who sees him thinks he's a girl. >.< I had an old lady at salvation army once go "oh, what a pretty girl doll!"

 

konzenkoryuu: I know the feel! X3 I have taken both of my big hunking Dollmore glamour models + a dollzone 65cm hybrid in a pillow-lined plastic ikea bag like this:

It's huge though, I only use it to cart multiple dolls to meets. For one doll, I might recommend a camera tripod bag or a yoga mat carrying bag.

 

O0 thats a good idea. I don't mind if he can't lay down though, not really... XD in fact, thinking about it, the only carrying case I have is msd size, right? I can count on one hand the number of times I've used it to transport dolls, even though I rarely go places without one. :P But I feel like maybe a bigger doll needs a carrying case, just because they're so heavy...carrying my Chenxi, my arm starts to hurt after a little bit!

 

Yeah the guys just sit up in the ikea bag with their legs out. It has worked quite well for meets! I got a 60cm carrying case thing from goodwill for taking two of my boys with me on a trip on the train. *V* It was a roll-up garment bag/duffel bag hybrid thing. It was just cylindrical and allowed them to lie down so it was good for me!

The other kind of bag I debated getting was a canvas one, from LL Bean. Those're supposed to be really sturdy, and I wouldn't worry about the doll potentially weighing too much for the bag, like I would with something like the ikea one...

 

Actually that Ikea bag is made of really strong plastic...it's strange and woven -_O very sturdy. They're the ones you put in Ikea's weird little carts for shopping. It kind of reminds me of what zip ties are made of oddly enough. Canvas would be really nice though, it would keep out light as well. The Ikea bag is a little transparent and I supplement that pillows that also keep out sunlight. That bag can hold multiple 65+ cm dolls, but I insist that you get one you can carry on your shoulder >_> carrying that bag with my hands would be awful.

Another thing about duffel bags is that you should probably put some padding on the head and feet, because long ones like that tend to be banged around a bit. I stuff multiple little pillows inbetween my Resinsoul Mu's long, long ears in fear of them being broken in transit ;v; I see your Chenxi has some pretty long elf ears, I would hate for them to be banged up! D:

 

XD yes, definitely a carry bag with long straps!

And yup, Adem (my Chenxi) has wicked long ears. Mu does too. I'd have to see the two of them next to each other to see who has longer!
Luckily the ears are attached to his head, not his headcap. (Though I don't know why ears would ever be attached to a headcap?) Anyway, the point of that was, I've lost count of the number of times he's banged his head on the car as I go to put him in. And nine times out of ten, *fwip* there goes headcap and wig, onto the ground. >.>
He's a little more durable than he appears. :P Though yeah, I wouldn't want to test the ears too much.

 

I made my own carrier bag. The material I used is really thick but cottony so it wont scratch the doll. it has built-in beltloops, cushion blankets and has a pocket. its around 80cm so I can fit in his little luggage inside. It is pretty much lightweight too.

 

Genevieve, hope that you'll like your An Ping when he arrives! I think that his skulpt is really beautiful!

konzenkoryuu, I use Iplehouse bag, but I don't have dolls that are more than 70cm. And they are heavy anyway.

 

Tea-Leaf: I'm sure I will, I do love the sculpt! I was just bummed because I hadn't looked at Wei Xu moer closely before I ordered. Y_Y I like them both! I might have to look for a Wei Xu head on the secondhand market to remedy this situation. I'd be thrilled to have them both.

Hey guys, has anyone bought a DF-H Lydia? My boyfried bought her for me but so far all I saw are company photos and no owner photos. I would really love to see her in other outfits just to ease my mind.

 

Has anyone ever tried emailing DF-H? If so, how soon did they answer? :3 I had a question for them and tried, but haven't had a reply yet. I wonder if they had a really busy event with this temporary closing. o3o

Faith In Beauty, your boy is looking gorgeous, I think you've found the perfect wig for him (and his lovely elf ears)! I am quite sure my QiaoFeng boy will have to share his DF-H 1st version body with a second head. I read LingFeng is not among the discontinued sculpts, he looks almost like QiaoFeng except he doesn't have the sleepy look on his face. Or else I am curious which new sculpts they're working on atm!

 

Tea-Leaf: I felt bad about bothering Happylife all the time. XD I tried emailing Df-H from the email on their website to ask for a shipping date estimate because I'm overly eager and anxious about being home for the delivery.

Faith In Beauty: I am waiting on DF-H dolls, but thanks for those pics. 8D Your boy is lovely!

 

Tao (DF-H QiaoFeng) is waiting on a cute red school uniform , and I just hope it will fit him (Sadol). I'm quite happy with his faceup, taking into consideration he's my second (finished!) try ever.

D'aw your Qiao Feng is so adorable Eolomea. And I'm amazed at your second face up ever. o3o Mine certainly did not look like that. Keep doing them, you can only get better from here! Eager to see your LinFeng as well.

I also ordered the white Xuan head for faceup practice, as I am having a very hard time redoing my nobilitydoll Ryoma's faceup because of his white skin. I find it much easier on normal, and possibly also on yellow skin (Linfeng head, we'll see), still need to get the hang of it... Xuan is also interesting, he's advertised as a boy, pictured in a dress and also looks like a girl. But compared to Ryoma, he has equally huge eyes plus I want to see if this head would fit on the nobilitydoll body.

 

soo I ordered a DF-H Lyndon in august on layaway and I was wondering if anybody else had one that they could spam for me to see what he looks like aside from the company photos thanks!

I finished my Moon and Julian's face ups recently! I'll take better pics soon. >m> I only took a pic of Moon because interestingly enough he fit on the 60cm body for my Mian Xiang, but Julian was too bobble headed for my AnPing's body. I also chose a really dorky wig for my Julian as it turns out...maybe I'll take pics for the laughs. XD

He is a little bitty cute pile! He's going to be a little mote, which is kind of like a fairy of sorts. He's too tiny to be an actual child in my story so he's going to be a little fantasy thing. >V>
