[Adopted] Doll Family 62cm and 70cm Discussion

I just received my DF-H order!

I thought I'd snap a quick comparison shot of the DF-H old body and new ver.2.

New one in white skin, old in normal yellow.



The hands and feet are so much more detailed and the joints in the elbows and knees are a huge improvement. The new body is just a slight bit shorter than the old one.
You can also see how much more naturally the new body poses without any effort on my part.

Hope it helps if anyone was curious.

 

I'm now interested in DF-A boy Yu Zhe, but I didn't find any home pictures... That seems strange to me as the boy is really sweet, he could be a nice girl as well.

 

Soon I'll be receiving my DF-A Yanji boy...
It seems like he isn't popular at all, haha. I've seen only two or three people or so owning him until now?
I was hoping to find some review or something.. but well. ^^; (Especially on the new ver.3 body from DF-A)
Going to do that myself soon, haha.

 

Does anyone have the new A line body? I'd love to see some pics or a review. I can't seem to find any owner pix of it.

I love him so much. I did have the custom face up on him which makes him so much more regal looking.

Hey... Is it OK to talk about the new Doll Family-H 65cm guy in here? He's kind of right in between sizes.

He's really sharp looking and I want to order him as soon as MoC lists him for sale.

Question: Is DF-H white skin paper white, like DF-A's or is it more cream-white?

 

are the DF-H 65cm boys new? Does anyone have any of them? I would really love to see better pics of the bodies, both type 1 and 2. I can't seem to find pictures anywhere.

Anyone here have Doll Family-H hybrids? I have a Doll Family-H normal skin pink body that I am looking to find a company that matches 80% to 100% close. ^_^

 

Amadeus is gorgeous, i also have a Lyre and he's one of my favourite dolls, i think the Lyre sculpt is one of my favourite sculpts EVER ..even now after owning him for quite a few years, He has a face i never tire of

I did his haircut a week ago.

 

I have a Dollfamily-H 62cm ver2. + Iplehouse EID female head hybrid. The color match is around 85% (DF Pink Normal is a shade lighter, and maybe a tiny bit more pinkish). Lighter, creamy-pink heads like Dollmore or Luts should also work.

Which body do you have? Because this particular hybrid needs some serious neck-modding (IH heads have giant neck-holes, even the females), but I suspect that the 65cm body would be a much better fit.

On that note - does anyone happen to own the DF-H 65cm body? Does it pose as fabulous as the pictures promise? Because I am in awe of the posing of this 62cm body, and it would be lovely to know a bit more about the bigger version, too^^

Hello! I just ordered the Zhuang Qi practice head from Alice's Collections in Normal Pink, if I like him enough after giving him a faceup I may end up giving him a body~

 

Does anyone have pictures of Moon/Xuan Yue? ;v; I have been admiring him for a long time, and am so sad to hear they're discontinuing him. T-T
I'm wondering how he looks in person!

 

Jeereyama's (doll's singing) 30% off sale almost got me, especially since most of doll damily-h sculpts are getting discontinued. Good thing I mostly liked their yosd (there was a 60cm sleeping sculpt playing violin I liked but wanted to buy through moc for layaway)

 

Oi, same here candy_coated. I am fighting myself over whether or not to get Moon. I have really liked him since I saw him.
HHhhh I won't get the chance to own him again, seeing as there are no owner pics and it is unlikely he'll show up in the MP. @n@ I think I will have to go for him.
Can anyone tell me about the 70 cm body? X3 Is it nice?

Also a question for anyone participating in the events. Could you get two heads instead of a head and jointed hands in event B? :3
I really want an An Ping head and a Mian Xiang head...i can't decide between them. I wonder if they would allow that?

the reason i say this is cause i succumbed to this promo and ordered some dolls from alice's colletion and she was very quick to answer my questions

 

I did the same. XD I ordered from Jeeryama because they were having a great discount and promotion. I think JY is a little busy with this event, it's taking Christina a couple of days to get back to me, but she's always very helpful. I asked but I was wondering if anyone here had the same idea. XD

So excited though! I hope everyone who got some DF-H dolls shows them off when they arrive here. I sure will be.

i might have opted for that if i had seen it first but as it stands jointed hands are pretty neat too!

i got an eta from Alice, and she was like "usually it'll be 2 month, but it might take longer due to this event." which is understandable... but i can't wait for my kids to get here! you bet i'll be flaunting them once they arrive!

how many people do you think will participate in this event?

 

I don't think jeeryama is taking part of the free head and jointed hands like everyone else cause of their free wig/eyes and 30% off event. If they are... dang I guess I'm going to take the plunge and do layaway around August...

 

Graphitedoll: I was between the two dealers honestly. :3 I have had pleasant experiences with both. It was just a better value to go with JY. I chose the 30% discount + free wig and eyes, but I think it even works out to a better deal if you participate in an event. You still get a free wig and eyes, and the discount is %15 instead of %12 like other companies. I initially went with the 30 % but I'm asking JY if I can pay the extra 15 to get the extra head.

I'm very excited because I've only ever seen 1 owner picture of Xuan Yue. Who did everyone order? *V*
I think a lot of people will be participating. DF-H has some really popular sculpts like Linfeng and Duanyu that people (like I had been with Xuan Yue) had been putting off because they assumed they'd always be there. So in a way I'm glad, I was forced to finally get him and at a great discount.

Candy_coated: I think the 30% discount is if you don't want the jointed hands/head. If you do, it's 15%. I'm not sure about event B, that's what I'm waiting to hear back about.

 

duanyu is the boy i have at home with me right now and i love his little smiling face!
i ordered suxun and Daisy and i'm hoping they aren't strung too tightly when they are sent. i've read that might be an issue? x_x

 

Duanyu is so cute~~ Such big, cute eyes. I'm quite surprised they didn't keep Duanyu, Lyre, and Linyu. They're favorites. *V*
Also Suxun, seeing as he's just as new as the ones they're keeping. :T

I actually like really tightly strung dolls >v> I just also hope they're not overly tight!

 

My gosh my order changed quite a bit.
Instead of XuanYue as a complete doll + one head for the event, I got MianXiang and An Ping as full dolls with Event B. I got a XuanYue and Julian head as my event heads, 2 pairs of jointed hands, and a free 16cm Duoduo for spending over $500. This is one of the best company events I've ever seen. :O

I've always liked Duanyu now feeling pressured to order him while I can! I thought jeeryama was the better deal at first.....but then I added up all the postage and faceup costs, and Alices Collection is just $10 more! (That's assuming both dolls are on the type-1 body?) And that includes a free head or jointed hands, so I think I'll be going with Alices - just as soon as I can shake that money tree hard enough to get some cash!

 

Doesn't Alice collections also charge pp fees? Jeeryama does not.

 

I changed my order from Jeeryama to Happylife998. They participate fully in the event and the shipping is much cheaper. It's $36 for one doll. Their store doesn't have all the sculpts by any means but they had both of the ones I wanted. *V* And even though they don't have XuanYue and Julian listed in their store, Happylife998 still ordered them for my event heads for me, so you might find luck in asking if you can still order a sculpt they don't have from them.

Edit: They're on holiday until 13th of July.

I actually wasn't sure about it but I figured I should experience both of the boy bodies. *V*
I thought it looked rather strange and gangly at first, but it's grown on me. >v<

Hello! I bought the DFH Zhuang Qi practice head off of Alice's Collections for practicing faceups, I may end up getting a body for him because this sculpt is actually really nice! I was surprised, $20 is a steal. The resin quality was great and the sculpt is gorgeous (even though I hate trying to paint an open mouth haha)

anyways, here he is~

Hey, guys. Sorry to ask this here, but does anyone know if DF-A and DF-H share the same resin colors? I'm looking at options for hybrids, and I'd like to pair DF-H's jointed hands with DF-A's 62cmv3 boy body.

Selenae: I can tell you at least that DF-A and DF-H have very different white skin. DF-A is absolute paper white and DF-H is very creamy ivory color. As for the others, I don't know. ovo;;

 

I don't think I introduced my DF-H boy hybrid. He's a Minimee head I hardcore modded into uh...this.... he has jointed hands that are super cool but I need to wire them and I need to suede his joints still. He pivots a lot on his hip joint when standing which is kind of annoying.

I blushed the hands but I need to do it again because I play with them so much it keeps rubbing off xD....







He doesn't have a name.... He sits on my mantle with my other dolls holding Eugene (the floating head, another modding victim of mine). Any name suggestions are welcome!

 

@IpLemons: Wow, what a unique guy! I like those blank eyes and the pale blushing~ I have been thinking about wiring my DF-H hands too but I need thinner wire. x3 Right now I'm kind of achieving a sueding effect by sponging on liquitex matte varnish inbetween the joints and letting it become more textured, but it rubs off fairly quickly.

 

WOWEE he's gorgeous, definitely worth getting a body *0*

and ugh, i can't deal with the jointed hands either... for my pair, the fingers are... kicky for lack of a better word.
they might be strung to tight but i'm not restringing that no way thank you very much.

 

They definitely are kicky, but they have an amazing grip. XD The texturing with msc/liquitex helps some but I'm going to look into wiring. :> I'm getting two more pairs with this order so I'll definitely have to try!
I have never tried restringing hands and I share your sentiment on that...such tiny parts.

 

This is my Suxun, if anybody wants to know what he looks like without a wig covering half his face. I haven't finished the faceup yet.

I bought one of the 65cm bodies for my Dollstown Hue. I like Suxun as a secondary head. I've also got one of their practice heads in the mail. I'm looking forward to their new sculpts.

 

Ooo I am so glad you posted those photos! I ordered suxun recently and was sad because I couldn't find any owner pics of him. He has a very nice face! How are you finding the 65cm body? Can I ask whether you got the 2 part or 3 part? I cautiously got the 3 part though I really wish I could have seen more photos of both XD

 

I really like the body. It's got a nice fluid form, it holds a pose pretty well. I got the 3 part. The lower torso joint is well designed, so he won't flop over.

Here's the Hue head on it. The body is a typical white color, but the Dollstown head is almost sheet white and makes it look much darker.

 

Oh gosh those body joint looks nice and sturdy makes me want to save up money to buy 62cm sized ones!

 

Ahh thank you for the photos! The body looks so much better in brighter lighting, I actually really like the three part now. The company photos were so oddly lit, It was hard to see what was going on! But yeah, the body looks lovely in your photos. I'm so excited for my Suxun to arrive

 

The practice head came today. I can't wait to practice on him.

 

I have a boy from Dollfamily H. He is a LE-Nangong. I havent seen/met other Nangong owners yet.
What i like about DF is there asian-feature sculpts.
