These are my twins, two Elf El's from 2004 edition. Faceups by me (took me hours to do them as identical as I could!) I am still so in love with them >-<!!

Aww AlmySidaKay thanks and I think that if you were trying to match a LuWen with a larger headed big eyed girl it probably isn't working as well since he is a smaller head with definitely different look than some of the older sculpts. I always liked LuWen a lot, but he didn't fit in quite right with my family either since he's very pin-headed and different. Good luck with the Chiwoo!

 

Ooh, is that a F70 Dreaming BA head? He's gorgeous - I only have F70 BAs myself, but both of mine are OEs and on F70 bodies, so I can't show them off in this thread, or any thread really, since the F70 thread is very dead, lol. All your boys are beautiful - It's great to see an array of BAs like that. (I have an array, but they're all OT for this thread!)

Oh, they look magnificent! I think you've been successful in getting them to look as alike as possible! What are their names?


And since there have been a few group shots of the same sculpt, here is an old one of my big Lishe girls -I have to take a new one when one of them arrived (I'm getting an Elf Lishe 05 OE one of the only girls I was missing from my set of Delfs) and when the other gets back from the spa.
(oh my lord, just realised exactly how old this shot is.... VERY! I need to do a new one soon - I'm missing 4 or so Lishes!)

I'm glad I dropped by this thread now, so many pretty delfs to see

They're all lovely too! I haven't seen many of the Feeple70 Breakaways, the dreaming one the least. They all have such pretty dresses as well. I just purchased a second Breakaway so they're making me anxious to receive him.

Nanyalin, I'm amazed that you got them to look so alike. Their hair looks so nice and soft, I can see why you're so in love with them.

El, Breakaway and of course Lishe! So many of them, they're all very different, dreaming Lishe is always my favourite. Can't wait to see your updated version of your girls. They're tempting me to find a Lishe to join my crew (but as a boy I think.)

I think I might have to contribute when I get my new Breakaway, provided I manage to take a decent photo.

 

It looks like your question got overlooked in the stream of the conversation. I don't think there is anything short of modding to achieve the posing you want. I believe there are threads in the customising section that may help you with the mods.

 

Ugh sorry I totally skipped over this post too, I had no idea what to do about trying to get a delf body to pose better outside of just getting a different body. (for me it was a a Dollzone body or Volks body instead). I would be terrified really to just try such a tough sounding mod.

I tried to turn my Luwen ... again .. into a girl. And it was just an utter train wreck. So I gave up on the sculpt working for me with the rest of my doll family. But, for some reason I still think Deni needs a CP Delf companion. I found a Chiwoo head that had a lovely female face up on it, and she should be here tomorrow/Thursday. I'm hoping since Deni and (chiwoo) Meri have both the original bigger type one heads that they will look a lot more porportinate together. And their face ups even have the same sort of color scheme so I am hopeful with that as well.

Lu-Wen's... can be... very feminine. Mine, believe it or not, is a boy (on a Fantasy Doll body), and while the Chiwoo is actually a boy as well (he usually lives on a Feeple 70cm body) I put the head on a girl body to take this photo...

Hey everyone! So I'm trying to catch up on some good ol' Delf history and I have a question for you all!
Was Woosoo a limited edition and did he only come as a 'dreamy' eyed doll? I recently received a Dreaming Vampire Chiwoo and must admit, have a difficult time distinguishing his face with some Woosoos.

 

I believe that Woosoo is a version of Chiwoo and he was a limited head, but that's the extent of my knowledge about Woosoos!

 

Oooh okay, haha! That makes sense! I couldn't seem to wrap my brain around it... they just seemed so similar. XD
I must try to find a Chiwoo and Woosoo picture side by side.

I should add my little modded Dreaming Vamp Chiwoo! I opened his eyes a little bit.
I'm currently waiting on his body to arrive, eyes to arrive and his wig to be made, lol. I might redo his faceup already, doh. I'm thinking his lips should be pinkier. We'll see.
He's going to be a bit of a project I reckon. But I think he'll be very worth it.

 

As far as I can remember, I think Woosoo was only released once in 2005 (? someone who's been in the hobby longer would be more clear about that.)

He's a modified Chiwoo head and only came with 'dreamy' eyes and as a sleeping vampire (like Breakaway is a modified version of El) I think some people tried modding a sleeping Chiwoo into looking like Woosoo before.

WooSoo was released only the one time, as far as I remember, and he was basically a Chiwoo with dreaming eyes and a slightly modded face. If I remember correctly, I think he has a narrower face (probably just sanded down his cheeks), and I think the bridge of his nose is slightly different too...I've never actually seen one in person before, though, so I can't say for sure! I'm pretty sure WooSoos only came as 'vampires' too.

 

I can help with the side by side comparison. This is a picture I snapped with my iPad of Ronan (my vampire Chiwoo) hanging out with Overlordu's Silas (who is a BW Woosoo). Ronan's eyes were modded by my request to be more like a Woosoo but even with that, I think seeing them side by side, you can see some definite differences though Woosoo is clearly based on Chiwoo.

Woosoo will still remain on my dream doll list. But you certainly go wrong with a Chiwoo.

 

No problem. They both have their strong points. I am a big, big fan of the dreaming vampire Chiwoo (which is why I also have an unmodded head as Ronan's alternate). Dreaming Chiwoos are pretty lovely creatures. ;D Anyway, I think it's probably the same as how people feel about EL and Breakaway.

 

Seeing the two together made it very clear to me the differences. It was fuzzy in my head before. :P
Now I want to see comparisons of El and Breakaway! rofl

You might be able to find some in littlegreythings' flickr feed - she has previously owned some BAs to go with her El collection. I can only show you the comparison between Els and BAs in Chicline and LTF... both of whom are OT for this thread, or the comparison between Lishes and BAs, who are quite similar too, since Lishe and El are a female/male pair; I also can only show you that, since my BAs are F70s, not Delfs (I think, and correct me if I'm wrong, that Soo is Chiwoo's female pair as it were.)

I'd like to mussle in here, I just bought a Breakaway from a lovely lady, and I want to start nesting.

I looked up his head size as a 9-10 wig fit, but in my experience I was told Miyu was a 9-10 and found 8-9 fits a lot better (imo) but my El is definitely 9-10. I just wanted to make sure Break was definitely 9-10 before I started buying like a loon 83

One of my friends has a dreaming Shiwoo on a Feeple60 muscular body - so you can always see if you can find one of those.

As for Dreaming Lishe spam, sure - does it matter if she's a Vampire Elf?

JESSEPLUTO you just made my day. i still consider myself in some areas fo this hobby. i recently heard about the tan des. i come on here and i see your gorgeous girl. and then on top of it you mention you have a angel elf soo as well. i would love to see more pics of them as these two dolls are my grails. i already own one of my grails a ws des.

 

I can sort help with a dreaming Lishe! (And the one down the front is a modded dreaming Lishe boy - both he and the open-eyed Lishe are on Fantasy Doll boy bodies. I always had luck with their WS matching Luts heads - admittedly though this was a few years back. I also have a NS dreaming Shiwoo vamp on a FD body, and don't really have any great issues with the scale...)

Absolutely I will post more pictures of them once they are both faced up. I just shipped my Tan DES off for face up to Angel Toast. My AES is also Blank and will be going for faceup and for some minor repairs later.

Quick question for the people who own the 2008 Bloody Valentine Breakaways, would anyone be able to take a photo of the words on the Open eyed head cap for me? I just got my sleeping Vampire Breakway and was comparing his head cap to my OE version (whom I had since 2008) and it seems the etching of 'Breakaway custom' is stronger in the Vamp version. I just want to know if this is normal?

A comparison shot of both head caps/ inside the head would be good too.

I know what you mean about having a decent amount of Delf at home, I think they're special too!

As a matter of fact I just got a chance to get one of my grail dolls! I happened to actually have money the same time that a beauty green Dreaming Vampire Shiwoo came up for sale! So now I'll have the three basic Shiwoo heads in Delf size! That brings my total Shiwoo count to seven.

Since Vampy boy is coming from Germany, I've decided that he'll end up being my first doll of non-Japanese decent. Prism, my Delf Sleeping Yder doesn't count since she's a goddess. Now for him to tell me his name once he arrives.

Oh man, that brings my Delf count to...five! I still want a Shine though. candy_coated, in the pic are my identical twin boys. Ryuma is the Dreaming Shiwoo and Ryuichi is the OE Shiwoo.

While I wasn't able to take a clear enough photo (sorry!), I compared the head caps of my 2008 Breakaways (I'm the original owner and was lucky enough to buy them direct from Luts when they were released) and to me they really do look incredibly similar.

The open eyed one reads - BREAKAWAYCUSTOM. & FP71017GO
And the sleeping vampire one reads - BREAKAWAYCOSTOM.5 & FP71017G0 (It's probably 'CUSTOM', but it really does look more like a O than a U!)

Ebony Rain, here's a quick (and not overly good!) photo of my Elf Chiwoos for you.

They're both second hand, white skin and on Fantasy Doll bodies, and clearly one is quite heavily modded.



... I swear these two have been through more wigs and different looks than any other dolls in my collection!

(And, yes, needless to say I really am quite ludicrously loyal to Delfs. In fact, I... sort of... make a point of not counting them all! )

I think it's time I share my newest love, a Dreaming Vampire Elf Chiwoo that I recently received and modded.
He's currently waiting on his body and eyes, but in the mean time, I found a pair of temp eyes that actually don't look that bad! Today I'm hoping my alpaca fur arrives so I can begin making his wig (which I'm super nervous about).

I'm so in love with his little, peaceful face. I keep carrying his head around everywhere, lol!



So much Chiwoo spam makes me a happy lady.

That's the same wording as what I have in the heads, I was wondering if the OE head's wording is clearer or the sleeping head? I do wonder if I rubbed the OE head too much on the inside. The K looks like it's faded a little but he's had multiple faceups and cleaning over the years.

Anyone have tips on cleaning him (once i decide if I want to wipe his face-up)? I remember reading somewhere that old CP resin didn't handle acetone at all? That's my go-to for cleaning and haven't had problems with it before....

 

One of them might have been made in a slightly older mold... As silicon molds are reused over time, the really fine, fiddly details (like the writing inside a head or headcap-) can get less distinct. That's why molds can only be used to make a certain number of pieces before they need to be replaced.

 

Actually that makes sense, Thanks Brightfires, I hadn't considered that. The two heads are from two sets so they might be cast from different molds.

 

Candy_coated: I believe they are able to handle acetone, just not the ones that have colour tints in them unless you want your resin to be in shades of blue/pink/purple. I personally use isopropyl alcohol that I get from pharmacies. I personally prefer the pre-packed swabs as opposed to the liquid form (less wastage imo). And also stock some magic erasers and pin needles to pry out small MSC residue.

 

Thanks guys. I do distinctly remember that old cp resin were getting eaten by acetone. I have pure acetone that I use to wipe my other dolls. I used 91% alcohol for him instead. Now I kinda want to try doing the hydrogen peroxide bath thing to restore some of his whiteness, is it safe? I plan on using 3% with oxy agent, warm water, and baking soda.

And with Windsor, I couldn't handle the smell and hated the feel of it so I either threw it away or lost it to the multiverse or something

 

I am a little bummed. I was just a little shy of getting the funds together, and a wonderful Juri 05 got a way from me.

On the plus side I finally have an area to display all my dolls! Now if the camera would just show itself back up again, then I can take a big CP shot to share.

 

OMG DenaliWind, your Chiwoo is just precious! I love his faceup and his worried expression. Please share a picture when you get his wig done!

 

If it was that AoD hybrid one, I was bummed too I missed it! But I did end up snagging just a head so I'm going to try my luck at hybriding one, she's WS so this should be interesting.

 

WS is normally easier, but with CP tending towards Beauty Green it can be a challange.
And it was not the AoD Hybrid... total CP Juri being sold off of the DoA for a total steal on the price. At least she is going to make someone else really happy. I will find "my" Juri 05 eventually, just like I did with my DES.

I think I am just going to keep banking my funds so I do not get in a scramble situation again if something else awesome happens to pop up.

Also, I found my camera! Now I just need time to dink with the lights. I tried taking a few photos with just the ceiling light, but they turned out not so good (plus one of my dolls was being extra not photogenic). I think I need a taller tripod as well as the new buffet they are on is taller than my old setup was. At least now once I get the final things set up, I will have a true dedicated doll/hobby space.

Oh, gorgeous Chiwoo, DenaliWind! I've always liked Chiwoo, but never thought I "needed" one. I wonder if I've got another think coming?

Everyone here is really knowledgeable about Delfs, I'm hoping you will be able to help me with a couple of questions I have.
I just purchased and received a Luts Dark Elf Soo, Anarchy of Heaven limited edition. I don't really know anything about this particular release, so any information that anyone can tell me would really be appreciated! ^_^
I would especially like to know about the color of her resin, did this limited edition Dark Elf Soo only come in one color resin, and if so, which one is it?

I bought her because her head shape and face sculpt are perfect for a particular character I have, the closest I've found yet.
Just one problem, while my character is not very masculine looking, and rather androgynous in appearance, he is most definitely male and most definitely not curvy!

So Soo's body is just not going to work, it would require someone with master modification skills to do some drastic mods to make the body even begin to look right.
Besides, the idea of doing that degree of modding to a body that is part of a limited edition just doesn't sit well with me.
I keep thinking there might be someone who just has a Soo head from that limited edition release, and who might really love to have the proper Soo body. ^_^

So ideally, what I need to find is a slender male body, not overly muscular, that is a good size and resin match for Soo's head.
Several of you have mentioned Fdoll bodies as being a good size and resin match for the smaller Delf heads.
Is it only the white skin that is a good match, or is their normal skin color a good match for Luts's as well?
Also, are you referring to an older Fdoll body, or is their newer double jointed male body a good match as too?

I'm not adverse to using a female body either, and having someone talented do a female to male mod.
Especially since I need to keep his height around 57cm, or preferably even just a little bit shorter.

That's the same DES I was told I have! Congrats! I also have a couple Delf hybrids (the real reason for my comment) -- I used to have my Breakaway on an FDoll body, it was a decent match but not perfect. My NS Breakaway is from 08, and I had different Delf hands on him...all three CP pieces were different colors and none of them matched the FDoll perfectly XD
I was told however, that the FDoll body I had was really old, so a newer one would actually be better - the body was yellower than the CP parts. As far as proportion, I liked it, but there's another body I like more, which is why I don't own it anymore.

Now he and my Chiwoo (WS) are both on B&G Type 2 bodies from 2008 - before they started with the environmental resin. My Chiwoo is BW and blushed to match but the hands are perfect. My Breakaway matches the B&G almost perfectly. I didn't even feel the need to redo his face up to match him. It's kinda ripped, but smaller than a normal SD sized body and it's one of my favorite basic, single-jointed bodies (which is why I have both my CP Delf heads on it - well both my boys. My DES is on her body.). The only problem is I don't think they even sell it anymore....it would have to be a second-hand purchase. I'm personally not a fan of the type 3 B&G, but it's double-jointed, and I think you can get it without it being environmental resin....but I'm not 100% on that. I did think it was a little larger than the type 2 which might matter depending on how large a head Soo is.

I don't know how yellowed your girl is, I don't think mine is particularly yellowed, but then I have never had her next to my BA so I haven't compared her to anything other than Volks and Dollzone. Even still, hopefully that helps some.

EDIT: I forgot to mention AOD - I have my F60 on a female AOD body, and with some mods, it would make a perfect slim boy. It's got very few curves and abs. My newer F60 head is almost a perfect match for AOD NSP, but an older Delf might work with NSY.
