lol @ Tatsukitty He is super cute even if he is grumpy ^_^ but yeah sometimes I've had experiences where some eyes just didn't work if they were too light or too dark depending.

 

Oh wow, the Breakaway spam in the previous thread was awe-inspiring! *O* I've only got the two 2005 heads, and the OE Bloody Valentine one, since I liked the parted lips. :P I don't think I could care for more than my three, but hey, if you guys can handle it, the more the merrier. *u* Breakaways are so addictive!

 

YAY! Shiny new thread! The only Breakaway I have is Hisato, my Scarred Breakaway with the lightening arm set. Now to get him a body.... (>_>);

I"m currently working on a 10th Doctor's Blue suit for Ryuma (Dreaming Shiwoo). I figured I should since he was given a pair of red converses. I'm really looking forward to making the 3D glasses. Finally, another use for the red shrink cellophane I bought all those years ago!

Zia89, sock clothing isn't so bad.

Ryuichi (when I first got him and he was on the T3 body that Ryuma now has), had a black sock sweater and a white sock sweater as some of the first things I ever made for him. Now five year later, each of my Shiwoo twins have one of the sweaters that they still wear. Ryuichi also still has and uses a sock hoodie I made around the same time, and I just made a sock hoodie for Ryuma last month. Everything but the (future) zipper I made from a pair of 50cent socks I found at a thrift store. I experimented with the socks and I'm pretty happy with how this hoodie came out.

Sock clothes can be really nice, and there are plenty of tutorials here on DoA. Since I'm afraid of my sewing machine, I have sock tutorials and my determination for Ryuichi to have clothes back then to thank for learning how to hand-sew. So see if there's a thrift store near you and have at it!

Congrats on your future arrival too, I bet you'll LOVE having a Delf!

Shines are fun guys... and pretty unusual compared to the hordes of Els that are around.

This is Kitsumaru, my Shine (with one of his little shikinokami "fox-beasts").
He was the last Delf I bought from Luts, just a couple of weeks before they discontinued the line.

Anyway, does anyone have any idea how to remove the neck pieces on the type 3 body? I want to try another head on Asmodeus since he's my only current SD sized body just out of curiosities sake (cus the other head would never in a million years be a resin match with the body haha~) but it's not compatible with the neck piece. I can't seem to get the top part of the piece off the S hook even though it looks like it should slide right off.

 

You have to unstring a type three. It's in two pieces but the hook is in the bottom of the piece.

 

The bottom of the hook is closed though, there's no way to even get the string off it. I'd have to start by removing the legs. Or is that what you mean?

 

Yup, that's what she means. Take him apart, untie the knots in his string and pull it out. Then restring with an s-hook.

Been lurking lately, but I love seeing everyone's dolls! And I've been playing with my guy a bit more lately, so here's some D Moon.

 

Well darn. My curiosity is not that great then lol. I've long since decided that it's unsafe for me to unstring a doll without someone else on stand by to help me out when I undoubtedly mess up in the restringing process lol.

 

Oh restringing is easy! One string for each leg, and one for the arms. Three total. Just lay the pieces out as they come on in order.

 

Well I have had good luck with stringing all my KDFs so maybe I'll give it a try. It's all the other dolls that I run into trouble with. Them and their weird one leg string ways. I'll probably try eventually but I don't have the time to mess with him that much today lol.

 

I can belatedly add to the Breakaway spam from the other head. Here's my new girl Belle, with Ronan (Dreaming Elf Vampire Chiwoo) and his sister Yvaine (F60 Chloe that belongs to Amet).

I'll delurk for the new thread and the Breakaway spammage (which has been awesome, so fantastic seeing so many interpretations and versions). I recently added a second Breakaway to my collection, and also my very first BW doll.


It looks like a Sears family portrait, lol.

 

Oh man, they look so gorgeous! (And it kind of does look like a Sears family portrait.) My breakaway just got a fur wig, but I swear he doesn't look half as good in it as your two boys do. Who made your wigs? I'm not sure who made mine, as I bought it off a friend, but I'm just not sure about it for him.

I got a freebie pair of animetic eyes in my CoolCat order for my DD's today... Seeing as I already bought them extra eyes though, I was a little saddened that the purple ones I got for free wouldn't see use...

So of course, Audrey got to try them out. And a dress that's not hers. Spoiled thing >.>

just out of curiosity.. Will Fairyland ever release any of the old CP sculpts earlier sold through Luts? I really would have loved to have a Shine or a Dambi.

 

I really wish they would release all the rest of the sculpts. They are all real amazing head sculpts. It would be such a waste to just throw them away! Let's hope they will someday..

Have anyone asked them about it before..?

 

manabusama, many people have asked that question before! Fairyland has said they will slowly release the older sculpts based on what they feel is popular. There are also some issues in that older sculpts never had a "Type 2" version and would need to be converted to the newer neck type before they could be released. The English rep on Twitter usually says that she will pass along re-release suggestions.

 

I suspect that the more popular, "classic" ones will eventually all come back... Shiwoos and the various Soo heads, for instance, but I also have the feeling that it'll be a long, long time (If ever-) before we see F60 versions of some of the later and far less popular ones like If, Edgar and Jess.

 

Well I have not really payed any attention. I got tired of waiting for something that might never happen

I'd just be happy if they re-released DES, vampire Shiwoo and Shine. I still want a Shine, he was my first choice to become Ryuichi way back in the day.

I should go take a few pics of the Sakuma twins. i hope the day clears up enough for me to do so.

Sigh, I might be doomed if they were to release some of the old sculpts that I like. Because I do not have the biggest space to keep dolls in. I told my self I should go over to MSDs and Tinies and that any doll I get from now on'll have to be of that size. I do have some SDs but I think I should stop collecting any more of that size.

How ever that is easier said than done. I do have a RSB Delf my choice (SDF Frey) on my wish list. He is a must have doll and I'll regret it forever if I do not get him someday.

 

I'm going the opposite way and moving all my crew up to SD. I love my msds, they're very cute, but they're not as cuddly to me. Plus, I'm planning in the future to get props and more in scale things when I actually have the space for it, and they're all supposed to inhabit the same "world" so MSD is just totally out of scale for the ages! I kinda impulse bought mayhem and then I was looking around and realized that a luwen would be PERFECT and I loved that head for AGES but never had an excuse to get one... EXCUSE NOW EEE I'm really excited! XD

 

I'd love to see Fairyland re-release Soony. I want a Soony in WS ;A;

Anyway Asmodeus's new wig came in today! I decided that his dreadlock wig was swallowing his head a bit too much. So I got him this one from Leeke. I ended up trimming the one long strand as I couldn't get them to both lay nucely but I really like how it looks on him.

 

Yeah that's what I've heard too. It's a shame, she's such a lovely sculpt. She was the doll that got me into the hobby in the first place.

 

Bah.. I think the only way they will re-release DES will be for me to buy one secondhand and then they will bring her back with the new body.

 

Considering that CP set up Fairyland to sell their dolls... it's not surprising. But then, I have known that Fairyland has occasionally told CP not to do things, so it looks like it goes both ways.

 

I asked about the Soony and it was pretty much a definate NO. I finally was able to get a Soony head from the MP and a pretty new Feeple60 body for her. So I am absolutly stoked But I would LOVE to see more of the older Delfs come available.

Well my Lishe came home today just one day after she was shipped! Here she is hanging out with Asmodeus in her sock dress lol.



Her actua outfit should be in soon, t was just ordered last night from sadol with a friend's order. Her wig will take a bit longer to get though so she'll be wearing the temp evil wig until then lol~

I have a question~ Are there any heel feet out there that work well with Delfs? I'm trying to find shoes for Gabriel and all the shoes that I like have large heels on them.

 

This question has been coming up for years, but it can be daunting looking though all the Delf discussion threads for the answer you are lookling for.

The answer is: No, but Delf girls can wear many high heeled shoes, and stand in them, without special feet. I remember that Luts Senior Delf heels and Time Will Tell were mentioned specifically as fitting Delf.

I haven't run into any Senior Delf Girl heels that my Delf girls can't get into, but sometimes getting shoes on our doll's feet can be a bit of a battle. A certain amount of brute force may be called for. Do the shoes have a tight instep or other obstruction that makes them difficult to get on? A pic or a link to the shoes on Luts' website would help.

 

Can anyone with a mature Delf female (type 2 or 3) body help me out? I need some specific measurements that the Luts website doesn't state to make an outfit for someone else's doll.

Here's a pic of the measurements I need. Now, of course, the last purple measurement and the text in white can't be answered by anyone other than the person I am making it for, but I want to get started this weekend. Even if anyone can offer one or two off the list I'd be grateful!!

I ended up making Gabriel a new sock dress since her other one kept sliding down so she was flashing everyone OTL. I also made her a circlet out of those magnetic buckyball things cus I was bored haha~ Also Asmodeus is totally plotting ways to get rid of Gabriel in the background lol.

Me, too. I had my Soony with me at JoAnn's recently and the ladies at the cutting table actually called over other people to come see my girl, they were so enthused by her. I had a small crowd. lol (I love taking my kids to JoAnn's, the crafty people love seeing what I'm sewing for.)

 

Aw man I'd love to take my dolls shopping with me~ My mom probably wouldn't let me out the front door though because 'it's too weird' ;A; I need to move out already.

edit: Oh and here's Asmodeus with a paper crane a customer sent me with payment. It's the perfect size for him~



I'm excited~ I'm going to be having a Nanuri 07 head visiting for several months with the potential of becoming a permanent member of the crew. A good friend of mine's friend is selling one and said doll was friends with one of his dolls. He can't afford him right now though so I'm snatching it up until he can and if he ends up not being able to buy him off me I get a lovely new doll~ The CP Delf collection is growing slowly but surely hahaha!

 

I've thought about doing this, especially when I'm looking for materials for doll outfits, but I haven't quite had the nerve. It sounds like you got a very pleasant reception there, though! That's very encouraging!

 

I had several people fawning over mischief the last time we went to a joanns. (it's a two hour drive, for me, so it happens pretty rarely.) He's come to the walmart fabric sections too. I always have people pretty curious to see the stuff I'm making.
