[Adopted] CP Delf Discussion - Part SEVEN!

Thank you very much, but Sadly I can't compare this girl's elastic because she was from 2006 and her old elastic was completely off also. And when I ordered the elastic from Luts they did not cut it for me.

So I'm sort of at the point where im trying to find the right length for the leg loops. Perhaps a way I can compare it to the length of her body.

Here is a photo from Luts about string length. I cannot seem to find where I found it on the site, but thankfully I still had it in my photobucket (smiley to keep photobucket from freaking out on me)

First photo is for arm elastic, second is for the legs (you will need two pieces of elastic for the legs)
I find for my dolls, I like to have my leg elastic a bit longer than shown to keep them from being so kicky. I have also taken to sueding and wiring most of them to make them extra sturdy.

Tonboko, just curious what do each of the pictures represent? Is one stretched and one not stretched?

Short one is for the arms, and the longer one is for the legs.
If in doubt, make them longer. You can always shorten them if needed, but you cannot make them longer again!
Also, if you do shorten them, keep the extra length attached until you are certain that it works for you.

 

Yeah, Luts doesn't cut the elastic.

 

Tonboko, thanks! I was just curious what it was showing I'm going to re-string/suede my tan El sometime soon so this may come in handy to make it a little bit faster to get the right length haha.

 

Oh wow, that shows how long ago I last bought elastic! I think it was when CP was still with them. *shrug*

Haha I did re-string my boy last night, and that stringing guide DOES NOT work with the string I had XD I had some new Volks elastic and it is stretchier and not quite as firm, but it was new, so before cutting anything I just held it like that guide says and for the arms it would've been way too tight. I think his legs are maybe slightly too loose but not bad and it just depends on how tight you like it. Maybe they could have worked with that guide.

 

I buy elastic every time I make a Luts order.
I don't like my Delfs strung as tight as Luts does.

It's been a long term goal of mine, to have one of each. But I'm usually broke when a tan Delf appears.

 

It would be very cool to see all five of them in the same place. I have seen each of them I think on the MP at one time or another. I know there were two Tanning Lishes last time I looked, I keep being tempted by one of them, even though I have one of my own already! (I've also seen a Shiwoo in person, one of my friends has one.)

Your two boys look fantastic, I love their looks.

My girl gets to share space with her new Tan sister - I think it's a shame only the El is available in the new tan and not the other three of the unofficial "set". (talking of "unofficial sets" - this is my 60cm Lishe rainbow... or at least part of it. I haven't added one of my BG girls to it I've just realised!)

My goal is to have at least one of the various Shiwoo sculpts. So far, I have a Open Eye, a Dreaming (and off topically, a MNF Elf, MNF Sleeping Vampire, MNF Scarred and PKF Sleeping). My next goal is a Delf Vampire Shiwoo, but I'm hoping to eventually have a Tanning and maybe even an Elf!

But first, I have to get two bodies and Noriko's NS DES head.

You can always hope for layaways. I always like when pricey dolls are being sold with a layaway option. It has saved my butt more than once! I imagine when a rare doll comes up, everyone hopes for layaway! XD

I hope you get them all! I'd love to see a shot of all of them together!

I haven't shared here yet since I wanted to get my Soony mostly the way I envisioned her. There's still a lot of work to be done on her, but here she is for now. I'm so grateful to the gal who let me buy her earlier this year. ^_^ her Ving's eyes aren't here yet though, but I probably won't see those until June or so. *le sigh* Oh yes, and she's wearing spiritdoll girl hands from Alice's Collections. The resin match is off, so I need to blush them.

Usually this goes in the other direction, with guy-dolls being mistaken for girls... It's pretty rare for a girl doll to get mistaken for a boy. XD

Prism is home! She's a Sleeping Yder on a Resinsoul body. I'm already looking for a Type 2 body for her, the RS body just isn't working for me.

May I ask what the problem is with the body? Is it that the head is big in proportion to the body? I'm asking because I got a Domuya body for my mellowed WS Juri07B girl, and the color match is really good but she looks a bit pinheaded on that body (for some reason I thought it was smaller than it turned out to be) and I've been wondering about a smaller/slimmer body such as RS.

 

Honestly, that's a HUGE part of the problem. Maybe after getting Noriko's body, the RS body seems too skinny for a goddess. Idunno. Either way, I want Prism to have a thicker body.

I DO think that the head looks fine on this body though. She came home wearing a kimono, maybe that's what makes her neck look so small.

True that! I'm already debating on which to get her. I'm leaning towards finding a Delf type 2 body. If I find one, it'll be my first one.

I can use either Type 1 or Type 2, because I have a neck mechanism if needed (or did you mean the body with the lower torso joint? Delf are so confusing!) but I need to match 7 yr old WS as much as possible and that isn't easy. I guess I'll go with the Domuya body for now and keep my eye on the MP for a WS CP body. At least the color match is good, and maybe she won't look quite so pinheaded with a wig.

 

I...hadn't thought that deeply about the different types of Type 2 bodies, actually. I'm probably going to get one that I find that's in my price range. But if I can find one with the lower torso joint, that would be icing on the cake!

The neck mechanism I'll just take off and use the s-hook and a donut instead. Prism has the Type 1 head, but I found that if I use medical tape to keep it shut, I don't have to use the s-hook and headcap combo. Medical tape is designed to not leave as much residue compared to regular tape. I have a roll of old silk tape that I use for my Type 1 heads.

I love all the DES spam. I recently got a hold on a head but I find it quite yellow compared to my Juri 05's.. I think I need a second opinion on that, since I'd like to her have a body and it is quite difficult already to have one if the head is a lot yellower that any of the Delf bodies I already have. (I have three, Miyu 2006, and two other bodies, small bust for my second Juri 05 and big bust for my first Juri 05). I wish I would've bought DES in tan from Luts when they sold her! ^^ I adore both of your girls, Jessipluto.

Here's my Juri 05, she got new eyes today and they're super perfect. (Enchanted Doll eyes Milky #58 20mm with low dome).

LOL, it's a Juri 2006, actually! I always saw it as male, too (and mine is) but it was portrayed as a girl in the event photos, and being on the small side, fits the girl bodies well. Mine looked like a pinhead on his brother's big old Type 1 body, but looks fine on a much smaller Type 2 I got for him.

 

They definitely look related, don't they? The Nanuri06 head is much bigger, though, probably because it was a boy sculpt to start with, and the Juri06 was a girl.

Those eyes look really good, and your juri 05 is very lovely. Im about to try some Makos in a Angel Elf Soo I just got. My tan girls wears ED #30 18mm from enchanted doll, and my Normal skin des wears Everpurples 18mm Im not sure of the color for I bought them second hand from someone that got them un marked so no idea but they look amazing.

 

I my Juri 06! She was my first doll and still my favorite.


I would love to someday get my hands on an original Juri 05 as well. I love her squinty eyes. Some day.. it well work out and I will find the perfect one at a time when I have the money to spend. It took me while to get my DES that way, but good things come to those that wait.

 

The "brand-new, never worn" fer I found for Noriko came home today! I knew if I waited I'd find one that was just perfect for her! Its a warmer purple than in the pic, and so very poofy but she won't let me take her out of it! I never thought that such a "the shorter and tighter my skirts are the better" girl like her would like something as long and poofy as a fer. Except for me putting the neckpiece on her (she doesn't seem to like it much), Noriko won't stop smiling. I think its love.

I'm always lurking in this thread for the Delfs too. Just wanted to de-lurk to say your El's are all so precious, Els are still my favourite. Though I also hold a soft spot for Breakaways (and most all other CP Delfs too.)

 

So I have what's probably a stupid question. I've been reading the forums, and next year after I have my baby (due this December, yay!) I plan on attempting to mod the single joints on my type 1 girl's body into doubles. However, do you guys have any advice for posing the type 1 delfs? I don't really need her to do anything fancy, but I would like her to be able to touch her face. I've wired her, and now she can ALMOST do it, but just not quite. I've been cheating using fishing line for pictures. XD Is there any way for them to actually touch their faces without modding? Like I said, pretty sure it's a dumb question. She's having some issues standing, which I believe can be fixed by restringing. I'm just being a bit lazy. I hate restringing arms though, but I"d be willing to do it if it would help her pose better. Thanks in advance!!!

 

I have a soft spot for Breakaways too...

(Only the NS ones are 100% Luts though, the WS ones are Feeple heads on Delf bodies... And, yes, they like to cross dress as well! )

 

I tried to turn my Luwen ... again .. into a girl. And it was just an utter train wreck. So I gave up on the sculpt working for me with the rest of my doll family. But, for some reason I still think Deni needs a CP Delf companion. I found a Chiwoo head that had a lovely female face up on it, and she should be here tomorrow/Thursday. I'm hoping since Deni and (chiwoo) Meri have both the original bigger type one heads that they will look a lot more porportinate together. And their face ups even have the same sort of color scheme so I am hopeful with that as well.

I like to pretend it's just the fact that I love seeing groups of Delfs all together, like those amazing breakaways talithax, or your boys too Ravenwolf. But then you know, Tonboko, Kittywolf and xaya are all spamming wonderful Juri's and are not helping my pocket book either! At least with Ryuchi and Jessipluto's Soo I already have one Soo, so ... I'm sort of safe... for now.. >.>

And because I love sharing at least one photo of Deni, I tried her on a DZ body for a tiny bit, she didn't seem to like it at all though got very sad.



Good news, I think the body will work great for Meri.
