Special Event Adopt a Newbie!

I have to take this opportunity to do a huge Shout-Out to my wonderful Old-bie @Cynthia in FlintHills
I received my package today which is incredible... It was all wrapped in spotty tissue with a huge co-ordinated Bow, and contained the most amazing selection of Monique Gold wigs, definitely no more bald dolls for me!!! Also, I now have the best eye-selection ever imaginable with a variety of colours, shapes and sizes. Then as if I wasn't overjoyed enough!!! The two most beautifully detailed hand crafted dolly knits I have ever seen, one of them made by Cynthia herself. Thankyou to Cynthia for listening to me and putting together this thoughtful package, and posting it over to the UK!!!! Also thanks to all the Mods for putting together this event, I now have a cool friend in the USA to call upon for dolly knowledge

though I missed sign ups to be a newbie I have to say reading all the comments here is so heartwarming!!
I hope more people post more about their newbie/oldie.

 

Ahhh everyone's boxes are so amazing! I haven't yet heard from my Oldie, but I am trying to be patient!

 

Mine arrived today and there was so much in it, it barely fit in the mailbox! There were four shirts, two dresses (which my girl will love as soon as her body gets here!), three hoods, two pairs of pants, two belts, one pair of boots, a skirt, a wig and a very lovely cloak (which I'm totally in love with!). Also included were snaps so that I could sew them on myself for a perfect fit for my dolls. A big thank you to @Rosslyn for being an awesome oldie!

For any Newbie who's concerned about the status of their gift, either because they haven't heard from their Oldie (some Oldies prefer to remain "anonymous benefactors," which is okay, though we do encourage Oldies to make contact with their Newbies if they're comfortable doing so) or because their Oldie has dropped off the radar and their package hasn't shown up, feel free to send me a conversation and I can follow up.

I thought for the past month i didnt get picked as a newbie and read that we all got matched. Now im super excited to see what my oldie has for me as ive not recieved any messages. Time to check mail daily again!

 

Wow I can not believe that I haven't posted here (I honestly thought I had at least posted something)! But I did receive my Oldie's amazingly thoughtful package! I've been able to only try on a few things for my girls because I've been so busy, but so far everything looks to be an awesome fit!

Huge THANK YOU to an amazing Old-bie, whose wonderful gift has really made it feel REAL that I am playing with BJDs! I will try and post a picture later. Wonderful box that traveled great distance, filled with yummy treats, and goodies! Some for my Amelia, and a true wealth for my eagerly-awaited Bunny Nine Potpourri! Some wigs, and shirts, and UNDIES!!! All much appreciated! Many thanks to everyone who put this kind and generous event together! Now, pardon me, I must run about going "squeeeeeeee" for awhile

 

Ha ha ha...your post really made me smile, especially as I have spent my evening playing with my amazing gift from my old-bie which consisted of so many wigs and eyes, I can loose myself for hours!!! Trying different looks and combinations. The doll which most of the wigs will fit has gone for a face-up so I have not tried any on her yet, it really is a great event, and I totally agree that the people who put this together are amaze-zing!!!

 

I think my oldie forgot about me I haven't heard anything nor received a package. Was really hoping to make a new friend.

 

Mods, if you get any Newbies who ended up short of a gift package, I can contribute a bit.

 

I'd like to thank my oldie for the dolly haul! They were so nice to send me 3 awesome jackets, two pairs of shoes, some lovely chocolates and tea... AND a whole obitsu dolly. Thank you so much! I'm not sure how to post pics directly here but here's Noodle in one of his new jackets.
I wish I knew how to tag them because they were incredibly generous.

Oh i feel so cozy reading all these comments. What a truly lovely event, all this "spirit of share" is truly inspirational, as the world is today, is so amazing to be able to read, and be part of such an event. Thank you so much to all the staff involved, really, from the bottom of my heart .

As for my oldie, such a lovely lady, i get the chance to know @April, she is a pond of knowledge, i got a few question about how to care for wigs, and got all the answer i could ask . Also, she got to share many useful info! I´m truly grateful,

And ahead of all the questions she answered she even send my stuff

We talk about lolitas, and she send me a pair of lovely dresses,and some lolita like shoes WHICH I AM LOVING SO SO MUCH .

And wigs, I LOVE WIGS, she send me some colorful wigs, and a black one to die for


I have not tried all the items yet, as my baby sheryl is currently stain, and i have put on her the volks anti stain cream (damn you military outfit, and damn me for not covering her on tape, all of her )

I also received some eyes, but as i am to preserve Sheryl´s character, i´m not going to use them ( such a way to temp me, but i must resist...i must...). I´m planning on giving them away in the next giveaway i get involved, as i do not have the heart to sell them, after all the love and care i see through the way all the items where stored and packed, no way i could not do that. And there may be someone who may need and care for them more .

I just want to share what a wonderful experience I have had with this exchange. My oldbie mentor engaged me in a lively conversation here on DoA to exchange ideas and answer all of my questions. She shared some beautiful photos of her doll family and asked about my beginnings in the hobby.

Then, she sent over the most wonderful assortment of goodies! I was elated when they arrived and am now the proud owner of my first-ever set of clothing (including a handmade tribal shirt) and several other thoughtful accessories. My oldbie also carefully listened to my feedback on iris size and subsequently sent me a pair of eyes that perfectly suited my doll. She included a handwritten letter detailing the contents and welcoming me to the hobby.

I'm amazed by the generosity and opportunity for connection provided by this exchange. Thanks, DoA and @aernath !

Unfortunately I have reiceved my gift to Konstrain back in the mail today.

I wrote everything correct, as in as was in the message. it looks like the parcel has not left the Netherlands.
