I got her through Dollfie Fashion Island. They had more Shi, Liu, and Shi - something. I can't remember. You go through a Ebay store, but the girl April is very nice. Mine came today perfect. In stock it was like a week may be 10 days.

I've just bought a doll on e-bay, thinking that it will be a
complete AA doll, but after payment I was informed, that there is no more AA
body [only head], and it can be send only with AoD body so I have to decide, do I take it or not.

And here comes my question - how AA normal skin matches to AoD normal pink?
Anyone knows? Any pictures? Quick help needed

 

Are there any other sellers of AA?? I'm not in China, and my parents don't like when I buy dolls, so I can't have them sent home.... I wanna get Shisan, Shiwu and Shiliu, Shisan and Shiliu I found on ebay... but does anyone know where I can order Shiwu? ^^;; Taobao... most of the time they won't ship overseas, even if you're nice..

 

Seconding the request for a site that sells Shiwu. I almost got one second hand, but it had been sold already.

My Shisan will arrive this Friday, she is my first BJD doll. Actually I have ordered Glamor Doll - Nayuta Kenzo 75 cms from Dollmore last month and still waiting him.

So I looking for a girl to accompany Nayuta and I found Shisan at Ebay which the seller can ship her within 15days. I ordered with face up and hope she will come with the face up same as their shown in the picture ^_^. Rightnow I arrange many wigs for her before I see her face and hope it will well match her.

Once I get my Shisan, I will post the open box here.

I was helping out with the Abio Angel indentification the other day, and I fell completely in love with San again... so now he's the doll I'm saving up for, now, because really... my army needs expansion.

 

He's on my list too! There are a lot I still want, but the one I want the most is Ling. I really hate their bodies, so I'm just waiting for his head to pop up somewhere .

Who does everyone have? I have two Yi's (one white skin/updated, one normal), a normal skin Jiu, a normal skin Shi, and a normal skin Qi. I also have a normal skin Er I'm waiting for.

 

I have an Er in old normal skin, two Lings in old normal skin, and a Shi in white skin.

I desperately want a normal skin San, and I would love to get another Shi, but maybe in normal skin this time.

There are definitely things about their bodies that frustrate me, especially the alien hands. My Shi has Luts white skin hands, and one of my Lings has Luts hands, so they're better. But I really hate their elbows sometimes... I'm thinking that if I get another, I might get it on a new body.

Shame about Divinity Doll still being down, though... Amy the Yu is so nice, she was great to ask questions of.

 

That's funny..I want a Shi in white skin . I want a white skin version of just about all of the angels I already have.

When you say old normal skin, what do you mean? Just the one before the current pinkish tone, or even older than that? I know that there was a different normal skin when they also offered a pureskin, then there was a normal skin that replaced those two.

I don't have any of the new normals, but I have at least one of each of the ones before. It's really hard to tell, since they don't seem that different . One's a lot yellower, but that could just be due to age.

Half of mine are hybrids. My first Yi (the one I bought from Divinity doll) is on the older DIM love body. My Jiu is on a Fantasy Doll body, and my Shi is on an old Dolkot body.

My white skin Yi is on the default body, but only because it's the newer style that looks a lot better. The hands still look off, so I'll probably change them in the future.

My Qi is on an Abio Angel body, but I'm in the process of modding it. I've reshaped the shoulders, and I'm planning to work on the wrists too. I might put Luts hands on her, since I have them in hand..but they don't really match well.

My Er will be on an Abio Angel body for a while, since I don't have anything else for him at the moment. He'll just be on my Yi's old body, since I couldn't get rid of it .

The hands are definitely the worst part, but I also think there's too much resin at the wrists. I'm not crazy about the shoulders either, or how cylindrical the arms are. I definitely don't want any more, since it takes way too long to make them look decent. At least the bottom half looks alright .

 

There is a thread with a mod that fixes the lack of elbow mobility by modding the shoulders, here. I have a Nanuri 2006 on an AA body, and I'm planning to try it, but I was wondering if anyone else has tried it?

The NS resin matches the Luts head very well, so maybe Luts hands could be used if the abnormally long slender fingers bother anyone? I believe the person that sold me the AA body had Luts hands on him.

 

It didn't really bothered me that much (compared to how many other things bothered me), so I've never tried it. I would like to hear your thoughts if you end up trying it .

Even though the posing isn't great, at least they can touch their faces (the first male body anyway)...I don't have any other single jointed body that can do that .

The hands I have are darker and peachier than the body. I think it looks too noticeable .

 

Well, there have been about three different new skin colours, but mine are from two years ago, just before they went to the colour just before the current pinky tone. o.O Right, that was confusing, but apparently the colour from two years ago was more yellow based than pink. I actually really loved the colour.

I actually found that the colour difference between my AAs and the Luts hands weren't bad - I grabbed some pics to show.

I love the white skin Shi, she is by far my most beautiful doll ever. I had a friend threaten to steal her if I ever attempted to sell her, lol. Oddly, she's by far my most expensive doll, too, since I didn't realize that white skins weren't supposed to be a lot more expensive at the time, but she was totally worth it. She's yellowed a little over the year and a bit I've had her - she was completely paper white when I got her, and kind of creamy, now.

 

I'm really curious to see how the new normal looks in person-in some pictures, it seems like it would be hard to match . I've got a picture of the old ones here:



The two hands are from around the same time (2008). The head is probably from when they first came out (I bought it secondhand from someone in China). It might not be that noticeable in the picture, but it's darker and yellower than the 2008 hands. It's exactly the same color on the inside, so I don't know if it really has anything to do with yellowing.

I guess how well Luts hands match depends on the batch it's from. Yours seem to match alright, but I'm sure mine are Luts hands too, and you can see that they really don't match my body .

Did you buy your Shi from Divinity Doll? My most expensive Abio Angel came from there, and he was my first one too (my normal Yi). First 1/3 BJD, first Abio Angel, my second BJD overall . Not the most I've paid, but some of the other angels are actually my cheapest dolls in that scale.

I have to admit, he wasn't my first choice. He was going to be my first doll in that scale, and I wasn't sure if I wanted to pay the $500+ the other ones were going for. He was just my first choice in that price range .

I didn't really end up liking him that much due to his crappy body, but I did like his face. After getting him a different body, I pretty much had a complete turnaround! That's when I decided to get more (but just the heads if I could help it ).

I've got dolls from a lot of different companies now, but I would say that Abio Angel is my favourite company . At least in the top three, it changes sometimes . I just love their faces-except for the new boys. I find them so awkward looking .

 

Yeah, the new boys have kind of... odd faces. I find a lot of them seem too long and thin.

My Shi actually was purchased on DoA - she was quite expensive, but she came with a pretty outfit, so I decided it was worth it, lol. And at that point I hadn't seen a single white skin AA, so I was so excited to see one available, and bought her right away. I bought my first AA at a time when when the exchange rate was really bad, so it cost me over a $150 extra. Sadly.

I hope to get a new one towards the end of the year, so maybe I'll be able to compare them. My oldest is slightly more yellow than my newer ones, but it's not yellowing, it's an overall colouration, and I've never been able to get the difference in photos.

Er was my first doll, and he was definitely my first pick, but the problem was that the decision was kind of skewed by the fact that I honestly thought that Abio Angel was the only company whose dolls were under $1000... After I bought him I realized that there were tons of other companies, too, and that not all of them were crazy expensive. But even when I started getting other dolls, I discovered that I completely loved them, and I wanted more. I like other companies too, but there's just something about their faces that I love.

And I actually think the hands you have are actually the exact same ones I have - Lishe's. And you're right, sometimes they match, sometimes they don't. But Luts has a big range - I have a Soo head and El hands on one body, and the heads and the hands are completely different colours - one is pinkish, one is yellowish.

 

Agreed. I just don't find them appealing at all, but I do like the new girls. Still, even some of them seem awkward from certain angles.

I actually ordered a new boy before (when there were only flattering promo photos), but I got ripped off in the group order held here. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have kept him, but of course I would rather not have lost $113 .

That's too bad. Well, I don't know if you would have been able to get her otherwise, so it's worth it if you like her that much . I really wish I ordered a white skin doll from Divinity doll instead of a normal skin one. I would have ordered a white skin Ba, especially since she's discontinued now .

The funny thing is, I actually have all of my 'first choices' now. I pay more attention to my Abio Angels though..just something about them .

I've got a few Luts heads too (they're also in my top three companies ), and they do vary. Most of mine are that darker peachy shade though. I don't have any pink ones.

I don't know if it was due to yellowing (the comparison). I kind of thought that one was just their first normal skin color .

I'm not sure Shisan is male or female (yeah face look like girl to me) because I can't find her pictures from the one who already have her. But according to Dolfie Fashion Island store mentioned that Shisan is female.

It is the first time ordered with this Ebay seller so I don't know whether my first doll Shisan came with the same as I saw her promo pictures,
I will wait to see her and give reviewing.


I also love AA girl model Ba and Shi but they don't have her on the sale lists.

Hee, I do have an Abio Angel boy who wears girl's clothes, so they should fit! But I'm pretty sure that Shisan is in fact a girl, I think that the face looks very feminine.

Ack, that horrible group order... I actually was involved in it - it was my first and thus far last group order experience. I was so lucky, I was one of the first people who got their dolls, back at the beginning of the order, when she was trying to prove that she was trustworthy. I don't even know how in the world she actually got the dolls, but my Ling Malachai was a result of that order.

I remember thinking that one of the most horrible things about that order was the timing that she did it at, too - I actually paid for mine on Christmas Eve, and got him New Year's Day - right in the middle of the holidays, when people really can't afford to lose money! It really gave Abio Angels a bad name, too - remember how for awhile everyone suddenly seemed to be getting one, then suddenly no one had any anymore? That was a real shame.

Ba was a really sweet sculpt - I have no idea why they cancelled her. I'm really glad they never went through with that "french resin" plan of theirs, but in retrospect, that rumour was spread by the same person who did the group orders, so I kind of wonder if maybe they never were going to do that, and she was just trying to work up desperation to get their dolls quickly...

 

I have a Yi! I've had him for over a year now. Although there are things about his body that I don't really like (the hands and feet could be more defined), I've found that he poses much better/easier than both my Buddy Doll or D.I.M. dolls. I just love Abio Angel dolls - I think they have the cutest faces!

I'm pretty sure Shisan is female. When I saw the pictures, I really did think she was a boy at first..but she's listed as a girl on the Abio Angel blogspot as well . Since the seller also has that marked down, I don't think there should be any problems.

I saw someone on Ebay has a sleeping Shi for sale, so I guess you could buy that one and mod it if you get really desperate .

She seems to be the most popular girl, and she's not discontinued..so I think you could get her through other dealers if you're willing to go through some trouble .

I just remembered-I saw some dealer pictures of Shisan a while ago. I saved them since those were the only real pictures I've seen of her-she definitely comes on a female body!

I'm glad you got yours! Actually, there's only one other girl that I know of who didn't get anything. Everyone else seemed to get a doll eventually, even if it turned out to be the wrong one..

It was because neither of us would send her the rest of the money....but who would after that?? She never even confirmed my order.

I was even willing to send her the money at first, but she wouldn't give me any confirmation. Wouldn't answer any of my questions about how long it would take, any proof that she would send the doll, etc..then she started getting snippy and just stopped replying .

The funny thing is, I do have a doll from that order. Someone else thought they got the wrong doll and put him up for sale...he ended up being the right doll, but an updated version.

Funnier still, she gave me a chance to bow out at the very beginning, after it was confirmed that they wouldn't be changing to french resin..I really wish I took that opportunity now .

I thought the poseability was about the same, except for the ability to touch their face (in the case of the male bodies).

I've got some DIM bodies, and they do have some annoying problems that abio angel bodies don't...like weird posture and buckling knees. The sculpts are just beautiful though, so they're wayyyyy better than Abio Angel bodies in my opinion .

I wouldn't have guessed that was an Abio Angel centric meet up by those pictures . It was fun picking them out though .

Hi: I have a SanYi that I got off eBay. I've been doing a lot of research into faceups and just gave him his first coat of Mr Super Clear today prior to painting...will post some pics when I've finished. I really love his sculpt though I had to ream out the eye sockets quite a bit...am thinking of making him into Cal Leandros from the Rob Thurman books.

 

I should have added: can anyone point me in the direction of some really good clothing patterns for this size doll? Basic stuff like t-shirts, jeans, hoodies, leather jackets. I'm a very experienced sew-er, so difficulty level is no problem. Thanks!

Abio Angel hands - girls and boys - are very similar to Bobobie hands. I wonder if maybe they worked together at some point? I have both, and once I took their hands off, I couldn't tell which was which except for size.
