    1. Hi Everyone ^^

      I've set up a blog where I consolidated the data for Abio Angel.

      Had wanted to set up a website but due to my almost none existent html skills..
      I had to use a blog instead :|

      *Edit* I've input all the data and pictures on the blog.
      Do let me know if you have any suggestions or things to add... anything at all ^^

    4. Actually, these look a lot like Michael and Zeber to me- the first dolls Mythdoll made.

      Does anyone know what size they are? If they are 60cm, then they might not be new at all- just re-named.....

    7. It's interesting - and certainly and noble cause, albeit a bit futile I think (ever the cynic) - but I too think they are trying to do too much too soon, not finishing and perfecting one thing before rushing to another...

    8. Are they really only $170 for the full doll? O__o I hope Mythdoll and related companies can work out their problems because I really like their dolls, especially the ABIO ANGEL doll with white hair.

      The dolls are 60cm, but I don't think they are Zeber and Michael. I used to want Zeber but neither looks like him. And Michael had a rather flat face, if I remember correctly...

    9. Hmm..... it's a label Leroi started but it seems the chief designer is not Leroi but another designer from china.. I'm not too sure.

      It is around $170 for a full doll... includes postal box,black protective bag (no idea how it looks like) and assembled doll with makeup.
      The Abio Angel with white fluffy hair is Yue... same as the one with red wig (first link).

      It seems there's another one call Bin coming out soon. He seems a mix of the one with brown wig and white wig. ^^

      The yahoo seller mentioned that the seams and details will be a little rough so the owner will have to do a little sanding on their own.
      But since Abio Angel is a small company (more like a workshop it seems) and for the VERY affordable price.. I guess it's ok..

      I might be getting Bin.. but it'll see if he's really how he seems to be in the photo.. he'll be great for a character I have in mind XD

    12. According to a taiwan seller... the resin's not bad..
      as she said... not thin or fragile..
      She banged her AA Yi's head while changing his clothes and he's fine...
      Other buyers are pretty please with the quality of the doll..

      She ships internationally.. but shipping differs on location of cos ^^

      Also, sorry for making you answer so many questions haha... but how would one purchase one? Is there a type of thing like SMJ or Rinkya that works with Taiwan? I hope they continue to sell these for a long time, so that I can get one. 8D

    14. That's the price of a whole doll without the extra charges. I'll have to check with the china seller, especially since some only do bulk orders.
      I'm not so sure of reliability too...

      It's really no problem.. since I'm doing the research for myself too :lol:

      For china's Taobao.. you'll need to register and be careful since I've heard there's quite a handful of scammers around. Y
      You'll have to wait as they do not have ready stock on hand.

      For Taiwan Yahoo.. same thing.. you'll need an account to bid..
      so far I've not seen something like SMJ or Rinkya around..
      maybe cause most sellers ship overseas..
      They have some stock on hand.

      I'll help you ask both and see if they can liaise with you directly or maybe I can help translate. :)

    15. Their hands look fugly, but with a bit of work I think that can be fixed, and that's pretty much to be expected for $170 I guess... If it weren't for the fact they're selling off TaoBao I would almost buy one of their girls, but there's a saying about how burnt children flee fire, and I've been scammed at TaoBao before. Maybe when they open a real site and have positive customer feedback, maybe...

    16. Well, I notified the Junky Spot about this, and they're going to be looking into it. If it's the same resin as Mythdoll, then it's fairly sturdy, nice feeling opaque resin, which occasionally suffers from bubbles. Not bad, but not the best either.

    17. Speaking of imperfections, I'm kind of excited about the larger seams and rough eyes because I'm going to reshape the eyes a little bit and slightly change the look of the arms/shoulders (I have really neat mod ideas for the two..they're definitely going to be brothers ^^)

      These dolls are a modder's -dream-! ^______^

    18. I'm in the same boat as you are! I would love to hear more about them and see more pictures before I decide. ^_^ My friend is a pretty nice guy and he knows about BJDs so if we hear good things, I'll ask him if he can help.

      Going back on the dolls, I haven't modded a doll before and these ones would make for interesting modding. But...I actually kinda like how the smiley one looks as he is. ^__^ The cuteness!

      Bulk order is only if the one you want isn't in stock and that's for one of the China Seller...
      the other China seller that claims to be the official Taobao representative never replied.
      The taiwan sellers have some AA in stock...
      you can buy single dolls from them...
      One of the taiwan seller accepts paypal and layaway (the extra charges of paypal is beared by buyer).

      As for pictures ans testimonials..
      I'll post the links if I find more pictures..
      but teestimonials...
      I've only heard from the sellers..
      the rating in the auctions..
      and some comments from buyers..
      but they're all in chinese >_<

      I'll be getting San in Jan...

    25. I've gotten a confirmation from both rose_romance and Lanna (Taiwan sellers) that the raise in price (date I'm given now for the price change is 1st Jan 2007) is due to the change of resin..
      The new resin will be of better quality and skin tone look more soft (?) and rosy.. :D
      Too bad I've ordered my San and that I cannot wait any longer..
      if not I'll definitely get the new batch... >_<


      ravendolls - I think it's still safer to have her open an auction for you..
      even though she's got good ratings...

      I am also thinking about setting up an ordering service for anyone who wants one of these beautiful dolls but is weary about ordering.

      And while all of the angels have face ups applied when they are shipped out from Abio Angel, Its quite a simple process to have the face ups removed (i've worked with resin extensively and have all the tools to remove the face ups at home)

    30. So, I talked to one of the sellers - a 200 dollar SD sized doll seems way too good to be true. So readily available, too. I'm torn - I love the Shi, and I could preorder her, but I've got no background on any of these people or the dolls. Is anyone else going to try to get one, or are we waiting for more information?

    43. Wait, I just read that Lanna said there was a new body, and I am confused. Can someone please link pictures of the old and new bodies, I'd really appericiate it. And the new bodies are only available in January? Will they ever be available after that? Are they limited editions? Do they cost the same? Are both body types available from Cat's Garden? (When I eventualy order one, it will be from her because she has been so helpful to this thread.)

      Also, i know someone posted this somewhere, (but i can't find it) but could I please get a re-post of all of the names in kanji (or whatever they call it)

      The new body is not a limited edition and it is still in production now, and wouldn't be available till Febuary. It should be an improvement over the older body, thus there is also an increase in price. Cat's Garden should have both body type, unless Lanna ordered the old body in bulk, they will most likely be sold out. But you can still pre-order the new body from her.

      currently, Er had some problems with his head-cap, so it has stopped production. The workshop will start selling it as soon as they've solved the problem.

    47. I'm not sure what is included with them all, All I know is I was offered eyes and a wig (My choice) for 30 extra, bringing the whole doll to 250 (Doll, snow skin, shipping, wig and eyes) But since this goes though different sellers, who really knows.

    49. As far as I know, 's not a limited--but they do seem to be having alot of problems with production? And they do small batches, so while I think AA keeps making more dolls, they're kind of in and out of availability. :3
