Abio Angel Discussion - See 1st post for AA info ^^

Dec 1, 2006

    1. Yea, I think that they just do faceups on all of them, otherwise if someone cancels, they would have a doll without a faceup and it goes against the company policy taht every doll comes with a face up, and it's wasteful to send it back for one.

So I can see why they didn't adhere to that request, but it sucks that the faceup was done poorly. I guess the artist was just having a bad day. Good luck fixing the eye, I woudl be too aftaid to do that tom mine. D:

I wish they would at least send me a photo of the completed doll. My family is mad at -me- because I gave them my money 8-9 months ago and I still don't have it. They're absolutely admant to the fact that I was scammed and will never see my doll or my money. it makes me a little sad that they don't trust my judgement or my careful inspection into the company's rep before buying. ):

    2. It's alright, they just need to understand that this hobby is all about waiting.
Everything will work out, they'll see! ^_^

    3. That's why I'm still waiting. XD I'm just one of those stubborn people that won't let go of something they've anticipated so much. I think this will make me love my doll more when I finally get him. :3 Be sure to expect major spammage when I do though. XD

    4. Does anyone know the length of the AA boys legs from ankle to the lower part of the knee?
and the circumference of the leg just below the knee and just above the ankle?

I need the measurements in cm please. :3

    5. From ankle to knee is 18.5cm
Just below knee is just a little over 9cm
And just above the ankle is almost 8cm

    6. Thanks~
So I guess that means that 10cm circumference would make a nice pouffe overall... :3
      I don't have my doll to test on yet, so I'm just going to wing it with these measurements and hope it works out. >>;

      Thanks again~

EDIT: O: You're in kitchener!? A lot of my friends go to university there, and the remaining members of my mum's family all live there!~ ^_~ We'll have to have a meet sometime. XD

    7. Hee, Kitchener. I have family there too, and we go there to go bow shopping.

I love how so many Abio Angel owners live in or have contacts in this province.

    8. Well, DD is located in Toronto, it's not surprising that there's a lot of AA owners in at least mid to southern Ontario. There seems to be alot in the Kitchener area for the most part. I have a feeling that Ottawa has very few doll owners. There's an Ottawa Yahoo group, but it's been silent since June. ) :

SqueekoftheNorth used to promote the hobby here, but she moved away, so I think I'm going to take hold of the small group at this point. At least we'll blend relatively well with the Anime Society here.

Sparrow, did you say 'bow shopping' as in archery bows?

    9. lol, yeah, bow shopping is archery bows. I shoot. :D

It's kind of fun, up here in our backwards little city, we have a strangely huge number of people with bjds - there are three of us in our apartment, and we all have dolls, plus I have run into so many people that have them... and it's really funny when you go walking with a doll and have people going "hey, it's a bjd!"

    10. o: *loves archery to pieces* There's virtually no place in Ottawa to do it without paying an arm and a leg to just use the range... ;___; *emos*

I think Ottawa is virtually devoid of dolls... ;___; Though I'm starting to formulate a plan in my mind to bring them into my anime society and promote them there; sice we focus on not only Anime, but Japanese Culture as well, and BJDs fall into that category enough. :3

    11. I know the feeling... now that I'm not living with my parents anymore, it's really hard to get to any ranges. Back home, we had our own.

You know, in Ottawa, you're not really that far away from us in North Bay - just a couple hours. You could always come visit here! And also... I really wish we had an anime club here. My university is too small. :(

    12. Guys, please keep things on topic and take the OT about BJD groups in your area and archery to PM. Thanks. :)

    13. Ok,

I dunno if I should be getting like this, but I'm starting to get really mad. D:
I generally have the patience of the universe, but it's starting to ware thin...

The lost shipment to DD apparently had only packing supplies in it for then, so no dolls, but I was told that my doll is done, but it -still- hasn't shipped. Like, OMG just send it to me, I don't care if it has a face-up or not, I'll get supplies and do it myself. DDD:

On top of that, it takes up to a week to get a reply from DD and they haven't updated the tracking page since the 11th of July! D: Granted, they said they were very busy and stressed out, and I know it's not their fault, but they're the only ones who can talk to Leroi. D:

      /rant

    14. They still haven't sent him?! It's been nearly a year!

I'm seriously starting to think that Abio Angel needs more dealers, or something. DD are great, but it's frustrating that we can't get through to Leroi.

    15. Yes, DD is doing a great job, despite slow replies (which I don't think they'll make any difference being fast or not; same answer different time), they're bending over backwards for me. The problem is on the China end, and I think the recent problems stem from the country being so busy preparing for and running/hosting the olympics.

We'll see what happens in the next month or so. Either way, I won't cancel. I've waited this long, what's the difference really? Lol, maybe I can set a world record. :P

I don't really think they need more dealers, I think it's a case of: they need mroe people making the actual dolls. Lol. They must have a backlog or something. I know how art can go sometimes myself. :3 Just ignore my angry frustrated rant before. XP

    16. Is it true that it's difficult to get clothes for abio angels? I fell in love with someone's Shi at a dollmeet yesterday..
And I heard that there are no trustworthy sellers in asia. Anyone has any recommendations?

    17. I don't know about any sellers in Asia... but I do know that Abio Angels are not that hard to clothe. I have a Shi, actually, and she's easily the prettiest doll I own, and I dress her mostly in Dollmore clothes. It's true that she has a large chest, but with stretchy shirts, or shirts that button up the front, or even model shirts, she fits -perfectly.

    18. Argh. I really want her..
      =X
I met Yuriko the day before and refused to let her go the moment I held her.
      >_<
I guess I'll take my chances with the local dealer if I get her...
      =D
I still have another 2 months to go anyway..

      Is divinity doll trustworthy?
I don't mind paying more for shipping if I can get her from them..

    19. They're definitely trustworthy. They sometimes take a while to ship, but they're very trustworthy. I've dealt with them a few times.

    20. Great.
      =D
I didn't want to go through my local dealer cos she lets people handle the dolls she has has in the shop, even if someone already paid. She's super pushy too..How long do they usually take to ship?

    21. blackpaperbag: I hope you'll post photos of the new head soon! Despite Amy of DD being local, I haven't seen any of the newer dolls around Toronto. Her service isn't terribly fast either because she travels a lot, and she does have some language difficulties with AA.
Seiaeka, you have the patience of a saint! I still want a Shi-er (female) but I have yet to see an actual photo of an owned doll yet.
As for clothing, we've found that Senior Delf girl clothing fits very well on AA girls. ; )

    22. Im planning on getting a cute AA guy, and im wondering the flexibility of the arms and knees. as well as does Luts wigs fit on an Angel?

    23. Here you go! ^^

Unfortunately I've decided not to keep him, cute as he is, he just doesn't fit in with the rest of my dolls :( The pics you get to see were actually taken as his sales pics... :sweat

    24. wow!
      a whole year!!!!????!
      I don't think i could do that?

      ~mal

    25. Ok, I'v finally lost my patience... :|

11/14/07 <--- This is the date that I paid in full. As of today, I STILL have not recieved my doll and I'm not getting anymore response from DD either. Sure, they say they're busy through Yahoo Auto response, but HONESTLY 15 days for a reply from a business (a reply that I still haven't gotten)?! That's just bad. ): I feel ike I'm being avoided now. :x

Now, I'm not the kind of person that just goes around making trouble, but GOD, I paid 305 FRAKING DOLLARS.

There's a MONTH AND A HALF left before I've waited a FULL FREAKING YEAR since I paid! D<

Someone help me with this! D: I don't think it's fair that I would have to pay the cancellation fee at this point, not that I want to cancel, not now that I've waitied this long, but really I think its fair to claim I want a full refund plus the interest for at least 6 months. D<

      *fumes uncontrollably*

EDIT: And now there's a new head and I still haven't gotten my doll from LAST YEAR. :|

Do I have a right to be angry, or am I just a bad person? D| |||OTL

EDIT2: Finally got a reply on monday from DD. They're too busy this month to followup, but Amy says she'll get on top of it as soon as things die down at work. T___T

    26. I think you have every right to be angry. Even if they say they're too busy, they've had plenty of time to deal with your situation or offer alternatives. "Wait another month" is inacceptable when you've already waited a year.

Might even want to consider writing a problem transaction thing, just for the lack of service.

    27. I just wouldn't know where to start. ;__;

Amy is nice and all and I know she doesn't do DD for a living, but the fact that I've been waiting for a whole friggin 11 months -2 days to date is completely unacceptable. :|

      I was promised February.
      I was promised March.
      I was promised June.
      July.
      August.
      Mid-September...

It's now Mid-October and there's still no sign of $305 USD or my doll.

But damn... He better be a friggin awsome piece of doll when it finally gets done.... :| If not, I'm gonna be pissed. :...(

    28. Have you reported this to the Mods?? I would be very leary of this company that you ordered your doll from. A whole year and no doll is just crazy, they should give your money back if nothing else.

    29. I tried to help, but Seiaeka rather have the doll than the money. If I was her, I would have canceled a long time ago. There is a seller on Ebay, Jessicahu, I think, but she's not a dealer she says. I ran out of ideas after that. I wouldn't buy an Abio Angel now and I happen to like some!

    30. It is a shame about Abio Angel dealers being so few and far between, and reliability seems to be an issue as well. :( Last year my sister bought an AA and not only did they take a couple months longer than they said they would, but the wrong doll was sent and there was no way to resolve it (and my sis still hasn't sold him!).

And I agree, for now at least potential AA buyers should probably be warned of the difficulties and waits they may encounter.

Abio Angel has some really nice sculpts though. I was always fond of Mythdoll too. Hopefully they will get an official (english) website or something up one day, perhaps like Resinsoul/Bobobie has. :clover

    31. Rynn, you don't seem to get this...

My Dealer is reliable, it's the Artist that is not reliable. The artist of Abio Angel lied on several occassions saying that there was a problem with the resin and then they came out and told the dealer that they hadn't even started and that the resin problem was just a cover-up.

If anything, I would be leery of EVER getting an Abio Angel ever again. I certainly won't be recommending them to ANYONE from now on, as a matter of fact, I will tell people to avoid them if I don't start seeing some progress either on a FULL refund or recieving my doll before the annual date.

It's absurd that I would have to PAY a cancellation fee at this point, either give me my bloody money back or give me the thing I paid for in the first place.

    32. i bought my Abio Angel off of ebay.... (wasnt sure at first) and i got him in mint condition. they also included white sticky tack which you cant buy in my city (im 99% sure).. he looks great.

The only problem was that she put her address in the middle of the box and mine on top of hers a bit of the way up and so it looked to the Post Office i was sending her the doll because it came to yellowknife i believe and im pretty sure that it was the item that was returned. she was nice about it and helped me find out where he was.

i hope you guys get your problems with AAs solved, because they really are beautiful.

(edit: haha im on the same page as my last post)

    33. <<
      >>
I got my boy from Amy shockingly fast about a year ago. Of course i almost missed his delivery since is was about 7 at night and we were headed out for dinner when a lady in a car pulled up to our driveway and came out with a box. if we hadn't still been on the street then who know. As it is I did get my whiteskin boy but not the face I requested apparently.

Of course at this point I've kinda lost patience with the dolly hobby and am selling him. Gods knows I'd have lost patience sooner if I had to wait a year for him. Of course it sucks the most that the issue isn't even the dealers fault but the artists becuase there's no way to go over there and force them to finish the damned doll.

    34. Yea, the reason you got your doll quickly was because he was in stock, the tan-skin was a pre-order and I was expecting it to arrive in February around the time I would have been in Spain on a vacation, but that came and went and there was nothing. The only time I get any information from them is when I go out of my way and prod them for it. ):

I'm disappointed with Leroi's way of dealing with customers and am now buying a new doll from Angell Studio. I think it's reasonable to say, I want a refund now since I'm paying nearly twice as much to another company I would rather have my 305$ back now...

    35. ladyumbra -- Which doll did you order and which did you get? My first order from AA was a WS Yi, but I received a WS San instead.

      Just curious.

    36. I have no problems with people buying previously loved Abio Angels, but I will recommend that no one buy from Leroi anymore. Not Divinity Doll; if they start offering products that aren't made by Leroi, they are still reliable... for now.

I don't have a problem with Divinity Doll as of yet, it's just Leroi and her half-assed running of her business. Not only does it cost me paypal fees to pay for the doll, it'll cost me fees to get my money back, plus the loss of interest on my bank account for one year, not to mention the fights I've had with my family about this stupid incident.

I've lost something more irreplaceable than money as well, and that is the time of my lifespan I've been needlessly putting in to deal with this.

If I get the doll, ever, I will be selling it because it's too sullied.

    37. Have't visited this thread for the longest time >__<
I'll be updating the blog with the new AA sculpt pictures.

Seiaeka - That's a ridiculously long time! I've talked to one of the other AA agent and she said she hasn't seen any of these tan releases yet. She's not sure if it's available yet. For the normal skin though.. the shipments from AA are ok, abeit irregular.

    38. Hey, im just wondering if all male Abio Angels have the same body type for measurements....(since im getting someone to make Zeros Vampire Knight Outfit)

since my Angel (#15 (actual name?) Zero is away from me i cant double check, but are the measurements from the blog still current even for specific boy

on www.abioangel.com he has the purple eyes and white tie.

      ...
If they are, are these measurements measured like how we measure ourselves?
      (seems kinda small?)
      Chest 22 cm

      Waist 20 cm

      Hips 25 cm

sorry to be such a noob at this >.>

    39. AND NOW LADIES ANG GENTLEMEN (if there are any guys here)

The news we've been wating for!

Divinity Doll has finally gotten back to me and offered me a full refund at their expense. :o I think this is really generous of them, since they will be losing money with this.

I still recommend Divinity Doll to everyone who's looking for doll stuff in the GTA and North Eastern North America areas and even the west coast (where my friends who also purchased from them live). DD has been great in dealing with this and have been polite, albeit a little slow due to life commitments (which is uderstandable). They have been diplomatic and understanding, and for this, they get my full satisfaction as a customer.

Though I still recommend DD as a Dealer for dolls and doll articles, I will never recommend anything by Leroi again.

I feel a little sad, but I will not be joining the Abio Angel family. Sorry guys. ):

Note: I do not want Divinty Doll to recieve any flack for this, they have been more than professional in trying to deal with this whilst juggling their lives and work. Please make note of that. :3 <3

    40. Good for you! You deserved getting all the money back. Now, apply that towards the El! ^^

    41. Naw, it will all be going towards paying for that Gavin I bought from Angell Studio. The exchange rate is a killer right now. ;___;

    42. congrats on your refund seiaeka (from one lurking guy lol) and have fun with gavin ^^

kudos to DD for customer service.

    43. Seiaeka - I'm so glad that they have given you a full refund! :) I can't wait to see your new boy when he arrives, I'm sure he'll be wonderful! I hope that he makes up for this whole difficult transaction and is everything that you wanted.

    44. Thanks for the heads up on this company. So far I have worked with 3 Korean companies and had great service. With the unsure economy doll companies had better have good customer service or they will go out of business.

    45. I want that new boy sculpt sooo bad with the tongue sticking out... of course I have no idea how I'll get him now.

    46. The blog has been updated with pictures of some of the new sculpts, along with the new Myth series with double jointed body ^^

Seiaeka - I'm glad you managed to get a full refund! And all the best with Gavin =D

Sims - I'm not sure of the sculpt name for the one with tongue sticking out... but it seems the China sellers on Taobao keeps stock of some of the AA sculpts (due to the irregular shipping times of AA). The only thing is they only understand chinese.

    47. cool. going to try that.

    48. myth series with double jointing ? who handles that XD i want to get a new body for cammy <3

    49. Where and when can we order the new Myth body?

    50. I fell in love with the AA boys lately, especially Yi and San, but i believe DivinityDoll is down currently so couldn't order from there. Ahhhhh....waiting to get full excess to the Marketplace to try my luck then. I already ordered two MSDs in the past month, need to cool down. But the pics of AA here really lift me up......

    51. so..are they still on hiatus? I was hoping to get a Yi as my first doll..I really love the sculpt..I guess I have to get him second hand :(

    52. I'm planning on making my own carry bag, but I was wondering if someone here could help me so it's ready when my 1/3 AA girl gets here. What is a comfortable yet secure circumference around the doll? Something I can slip her in and out of easily, but she won't move around too much? (I reccommend making a loop with measuring tape and passing it over the body.) Thanks so much!

      ~Angelkitty

    53. I measured my Shi around at her widest point, which is around her chest and arms, at 13 inches. A 15 inch circle easily passed around her.

    54. Thank you very much! <3 I'll start making her bag tomorrow, and I'll share pics when I'm done!

      ~Angelkitty

    55. Where can I order Abio angel?
If it is possible to have white skin?
      Thanks!

    56. u can buy all AA dolls from sunniezg here on doa :] i got my shiwus winking twin check out my box openin if ya want :]

    57. They definitely have white skin... I have a white skin Shi, and I love her. They're white is super white, though - kind of paper white.

    58. I love Liu. I hope DivinityDoll opens up soon so I can buy her. :D

    59. I'm waiting on my AA Jui. I was supposed to get Wu. Jui was a display from the factory and made already. After hearing about horrible waits and the factory telling me it would be a long time I went with Jiu instead of Wu. I guess this was the best thing to do is buy what they have in their showroom. I still am curious if any one has Wu? I would love to see a photo that is not factory photo. I know this is a dry link, but any Wu's out there? I heard she might be discontinued, but love the mold. I also did not want to buy a doll from 1 photo.
