My group is definitely colourful modern. I love that everyone can wear the cool clothes that I can't, and everyone looks great with some colour in their outfits.
Modern urban street wear. I sew a lot of their clothes and it's the easiest stuff to make. My photo stories are set in the modern day, so my dolls all have clothing to suit that. I do buy some dress shirts and jackets for the guys, although as my sewing improves I don't have to do that as much.
I definitely have been leaning towards fantasy outfits for my dolls… (Aside from one doll who I have in a lolita style). At one point, most of the dolls I owned had elf ears. I guess I just can’t resist them. I would like to dress one up in more modern clothing, but it’s hard to choose. Every time I try to look for a good doll to dress up in modern clothes, I think of another cool fantasy look for them.
I only have one doll so far (and she hasn't quite come yet ) but I already have countless outfit ideas for her. I really love fantasy, and her main outfit definitely shows that, but I also have a modern-day outfit planned as well (and sci-fi is always welcome)!
I love to play with style so everyone is slowly getting a bunch of different outfits. But as a default: Leona and Candell are fantasy, Mina is just cute lacy dresses, the twins go boho chic and 90s grunge/goth respectively, and the next doll I'll get will be a Caribbean-themed fantasy (basically a pirate). Interesting because I avoid fantasy sculpts to the point where it can be a deal-breaker, but in the end I lean fantasy?
I love dark fantasy with a hint of sci-fi, so my collection goes into this direction. Plain people, not-so-fancy elves and a tiny drop of non-human magic-like sci-fi creatures pretending to be plain humans.
