If you're unfamiliar with Discord but have been curious, give it a shot~ There's a lot of us doll collectors over there. It moves a lot faster than forums, so think of it more as a giant chat room than a forum like DoA.

New Hello there! I’m sorry to hear the DoA news. While I haven’t been the most engaged member, I love it here. I’ve met lovely folks and enjoy seeing your crew.

I’m not on socials a lot but have Instagram tenukihq and Flickr accounts plus my doll photography website, which is undergoing a remodel. I’ll follow back and will reply to messages…eventually. but I’d like to stay connected to the fine folks in this community.

Looks like I’ll have to give Discord a shot but I really prefer the forum format.

Idk why but this news of DoA closing has me crying. I found the site at 14 and I'm 37 now. Feels like saying goodbye to an old friend (that I neglected ngl).

My instagram is ohapiday but I'm on an art kick instead of dolls. I did make a few tho.

 

New I hope this is ok to post here! I just thought some people may be interested in another English-speaking BJD community. This is a discord server where many members of DOA are currently, if anybody would like to join. You can share photos of your dolls, chat about them and doll projects. There is a marketplace you can apply to after being active for a while. Join the BJD Discord Server!

 

New DoA was the first place where I learned, shared and talked to people when I was just starting out in the hobby 20 years ago. I just got back in the habit of posting in the gallery so it's sad if DoA will lock it's doors, such a staple forum for so many of our journeys.

New While I have a number of social media profiles, I really only actively use Tumblr these days (used to be very active on Instagram, but the app just burnt me out with the amount of garbage it slings onto my main feed).

New I am not a very social person, and I'm holding out hope that DoA will live on, but in the case that it does need to close it's doors....here is where you can find me:

Flickr is my home. I pay for pro and have over 30k photos. Mostly dolls, and I use it as a bit of a journal as well to keep track of my life. It is where I post the most often, and it's a very easy way to reach me and see all my dolls!

Instagram...I look at every day but do I post? Do I chat? Not really. BUT that may change. I really should post more about my dolls there. It's why I made the account in the first place. Feel free to follow but don't expect much from me there. I will be following some of you though, so this way you'll at least know who the heck that is.

I am also in a BJD discord, one that's been linked a couple times here, but I've been too shy and overwhelmed to post there outside of a brief introduction. Nickname there is Axel, but my avatar changes a lot so not super helpful. I only look at it once in awhile as I get very overwhelmed by the fast moving chatter and I find it hard to find things. My brain really prefers the neat layout of a classic forum.

New I joined DoA and got my first bjd (a resinsoul!) in 2009. My love of dolls never left me, even as my life drastically changed. I’ll be turning 40 next week and I have grown alongside my collection! I’ve learned to do faceups, make eyes and wigs, and I’ve even sculpted my own little dolls . I definitely did not spend as much time on DoA the last handful of years, I am mainly on my Instagram @d0llytr0n
