5StarDoll Tinies Discussion Part 3

Jun 20, 2013

    1. There are some really cute clothes. Some of the dresses might work and some of the knit tops - the pant legs would be too long and the Bunny Nine hips are quite a bit smaller.
      Measurement comparison that I could get:
      5 Star
      Chest 14 cm
      Waist 11 cm
      Hip 17 cm
      Shoulders 6.5 cm
      Leg Length 14 cm
      Arm Length 14 cm
      Back Length 11 cm

      Bunny Nine
      Chest 14.5 cm
      Waist 12 cm
      Hip 15.5 cm (quite a bit smaller - fuller dress would probably work but not pants)
      Shoulders 7.5 cm
      Leg Length 19 cm (quite a bit longer, but quite a few of the dresses on the site were short on Bunny Nine so may work for 5Star)
      Arm Length 13.5
      They didn't list a back length.

    2. Oh great!! Too bad for the hips....I was really loving those jeans! Looks like I might have to go for some stretchy pants... :lol:

    3. Me too!

      • x 1
    4. Looks good, thanks!

    5. 5stardoll was really accomodating when I emailed them last time to ask to buy a Jadeite on a human body in NS, so I presume it'll work out as well for whichever combination you want. :) Also, your Jadeite is really cute with the faceup!

      Lovely pose and outfit! Is she leaning on the couch or can she stand on one foot? I still haven't gotten the hang of posing my Star10 body well, so I'm amazed by the pose!

    6. :bump - we were almost to page 3 - where is everyone? Rabbit-moon did you receive Tong-Tongs new wig? Pictures? I am busy redressing all of my dolls for fall/winter, and will post some spam after they have their new duds. Anyone else receive any new dolls from the last event? I am still waiting for the four I ordered :sorry

    7. This thread has gotten quiet too! The Pipos thread has been almost like a ghost town for awhile as well. I ended up grabbing the very last AS pumpkin head at MoC. I plan to hybrid one of my 5star tinies into a pumpkin head! I am so excited. Pumpkin headed dolls are one of my weaknesses. Hopefully I'll still be able to post him on here since his body is a 5star? My pumpkin head is presently on layaway, and I am crossing my fingers I can get him out soon!

      I look forward to seeing your fall/winter line up of clothing, Merlin's Mom! :)

    8. Oh I would love to see your hybrid once it is completed - sounds adorable. I would think since it is still a 5Star body that you could still post pictures here. Everyone would probably like to see how it turned out and how well the resin match is. I have been thinking of putting a Fairyland head on a 5Star body as I don't like the asthetics of the fairyland body nor do I like their hands, still in the thinking process on that one though.

    9. I will definitely post pics when I get the head here! Here's a link to the head:

      https://www.mintoncardinc.com/IMAGES/LARGE/LJGQRXILPumpkinRound1.png

      I think its just so cute!!! He'll be a spoiled boy when he gets here. I'm just not sure if he will take my 26cm body or my Aiden body. We'll see! I guess it depends on which one works just right. I'm just super excited!!!

      I would be so curious to see how a FL head works on these as well. As for resin match, I have no idea. I used to have both a WS and a NS FL LTF, but I don't believe I ever had them at the same time as a 5star. I am pretty positive that the white skins wouldn't match, but who knows if FL's WS is the same color as it used to be at this point. I think the aesthetic would be an amazing though. I agree with you on not liking the aesthetics of the FL bodies and hands.

    10. Thanks so much! She can stand on her own with two flat feet, but yes here she is getting some support from the couch. I like this pose too!

    11. pepperonipizza I love the pumpkin head - sooooo cute!!!! :D

    12. Isn't he? I can't wait to get him home! :D How is your dolly re-dressing coming along for your crew?

    13. It takes me awhile as I have over 200 dolls (mostly not BJD's). Due to the number some get dressed in outfits temporarily until I can sew them a new outfit. I will be working on the 5Star dolls next, and will need to sew outfits for Ryan and Robbie as I don't have any temporary boy outfits for them :roll:

    14. Yikes! Sorry, I totally forgot Merlin's Mom!

      I think one of the reasons I forgot was because the wig SO did not suit her. Ever since my TongTong arrived she has always been a tomboy. (It might have been the horns and catspaws that influenced that.) I don't know why I felt the need to make her a more girly-girl.

      Anyway, I thought curls would be cute on her. Boy! Was I wrong! As, you can see the wig is too big, (even though it's a 6/7) and looks totally ridiculous on her. She was also giving me the stink-eye :evil:until I took the thing off of her and put her back in shorts and t-shirt.

      Here's a picture of the big curly wig, a Monique Charmaine. (It really is massive.)
      [IMG]

      Wow! 200 dolls! Are you really going to redress all of them? Holy Cow! I'm such a lazy owner, once an outfit suits one of my dolls, they are usually stuck with it for years!:sweat

    15. I Really like the outfit on her, but agree that the wig is just too much hair though the color looks great - Maybe a Monique Roxie wig would be cute and she would still have the tomboy look but could also get dressed up? I really like her face - so cute. I am tempted to pre-order one but 5 months Yikes!

      I usually only redress them twice a year (fall/winter is my least favorite so they aren't as cute). They are out all year so they get cleaned up and outfits changed (washed if needed) due to dust and to keep them looking adorable.

    16. @Merlin's Mom - wow, 200 dolls! That's so awesome. What other types of dolls do you have? My dolls honestly don't have many clothes, so when they do have something, they are stuck in it for who knows how long.

      @Rabbit-moon It's a cute wig, and a shame it doesn't fit her very well. It's a lot of wig, so maybe you are spared the frustration in keeping it in such pristine shape. *_* (Curls are so ornery to keep perfect!) I really like the color on her.

    17. pepperonipizza - I mainly have child dolls - almost all vinyl - 10" Tonner Ann Estelle & Friends, Patsy, 18" Ann Estelle, Kish Chrysalis, in 14" an 12", Kish Riley & Friends, Ruby Red Senson, Strawberina & Ten Peng, and Heidi Plusczok 10" & 12". Plus a few one or two ofs. The majority are the 10" Tonner dolls, which are what I first started collecting. To keep this on topic, having a number and variety of dolls helps the 5Star dolls steal clothes and shoes from the other dolls :lol:

    18. Gosh, I'd love to see your collection! I guess I kind of got off topic, lol, me being nosy again! So cool you have easy access to clothes for your resin darlings. :D

    19. pepperonipizza - /threads/does-anyone-else-collect-other-dolls.709630/page-6. I did put some of my room scenes in Brigadoon at this link - there are too many to put them all in there, but this will give you an idea. It would be great to go to one of the BJD conventions sometime and get to meet everyone.

    20. Thanks Merlin's Mom! The outfit is super cute! I got it at DDE; it's a Dollmore outfit. But, word of warning, I had to cut off the feet of the tights to get it to fit my huge 5star girl. No big though, cause I would have cut the feet off anyway. The tights looks cooler without the feet. :cool:

      Here's another picture of my TongTong, from the side, so you can see how ginormous the wig was. (Glad I only paid 5 bucks for it on Ebay.)

      I hear you on the dust! I'm dusting constantly. But, I have a lot of dolls in cabinets that I just run the vac over. Easy-peasy.

      [IMG]

      Thanks pepperonipizza! Yeah, too bad they couldn't have made the wig a bit smaller. LOL! Yes, curls are terribly ornery! It's all I can do not to turn all curls into frizzy messes.

      I also liked the color of this wig very much; it's called Light Ginger.

    21. What a cute scene - love it! Wow that is a lot of curls.

    22. @Rabbit-moon - LOVE that chair! Props make these dolls look even more amazing. They're just something I seem to never collect myself, lol.

    23. Is anyone else having trouble with photobucket? I have my 5Star dolls re-dressed for fall/winter and was going to share some photos but photobucket will not let me upload any photos - I tried yesterday and today. Also tried to open a flickr account but said I need to have Yahoo and that is all messed up :sorry

    24. Thank you pepperonipizza! Isn't that chair adorable? My Husband found it for me on Ebay. And, the little Barbie Dream House is an old Hallmark ornament. I'm a sucker for props!

      Gosh Merlin's Mom, I'm sorry to hear you are having problems with photobucket. Photobucket can drive a person mad at times. Right now, I'm hating all the advertising that keeps popping up all over the place. But, aside from the irritating pop-up ads, I'm not having any problems. Give it another try! I'm really looking forward to seeing your dolls in their fall/winter outfits!

      As a matter of fact, here's a little spam of my TongTong in her new duds. (She was so glad to get out of that wig!) I guess she doesn't really mind girly stuff, as long as it's crazy girly stuff! (and pretty necklaces! *wink-wink*)

      [IMG]

    25. @Merlin's Mom -what Rabbit-moon said. Photobucket will eventually work for you again. I think they just have too much stuff on their servers. If they would delete accounts after 2 years of no use, it would lighten the load and maybe it would work better than it does. I'm not sure how long they keep things, but I know I accidentally stumbled ona very old account of mine, and was surprised it was still there! Try Imgur. It's free. I use it when I'm not posting pics directly to a thread as it is so much less nerve wracking. You'll have to post links to the photos, but we'd still be able to see while you wait for photobucket to straighten out! :cool:

      @Rabbit-moon - how cute is your Tong Tong? I love that outfit! It's super cute and she looks pleased as pie. :kitty1

    26. The wig and outfit are so cute on her - she looks quite pleased with herself. I am going to try photobucket again today - keeping my fingers crossed.

      pepperonipizza - hopefully it will work. I am thinking the update Microsoft made may have impacted somehow. I really dislike that they go in and do things to your computer and never tell you what they have done or what it affects. Thanks for the info on the other site - I will try that if I can't get photobucket to work.

    27. Thank you, pepperonipizza and Merlin's Mom! Yes, my TongTong is very pleased with herself. She pretty much dressed herself (she's a very willful girl) and is ready to boss all the others dolls around.

      Here she is again, playing with her Adventure Time Finn doll. (Jake is somewhere looking for a sandwich.)

    29. Love it! :D Definitely something up with my computer as I can't upload to Imgur either.:( I will have to just love everyone else's spam until I get it figured out.

      Edit - I think I got Imgur to accept a photo hope the link works Imgur: The most awesome images on the Internet - this is Vivian, Maggie & Lottie dressed for fall/winter.

    30. Sorry for the double post, but I think my husband figured out what they changed in the update so seeing if this now works - Sweet Amy hopefully[IMG]

    31. Paid off my layaway so now I wait for a shipping notice on my little human Jadite. It's so hard to be patient. :D

    32. Exciting news Kelli - looking forward to seeing her/him once it arrives.

    33. Thank you pepperonipizza and Merlin's Mom! I'm just glad I had something my TongTong could fit in. She is a big girl for a tiny.

      Oh my! Merlin's Mom, your girls look adorable all dressed up in their Autumn outfits! So many cute little outfits!

      I especially love Amy's outfit. The mauve color scheme is awesome; with its matching belt and accessories. Wow! What a little winter fashion plate she is! :thumbup

    34. Thank you Rabbit-moon. Nancy wanted to show her new outfit also - I made this one :) Amy's skirt and tee are from Affordable Designs for LeAnn dolls and fit her perfectly.[IMG]

    35. @Kelli - congrats on paying off your layaway! I hope you get your shipping notice soon. :D

      @Merlin's Mom - I'm glad your husband figured out what the heck is going on so you can now post pics. :) Your girls look adorable in their clothes!

    36. Thank you pepperonipizza - Ryan and Robbie wanted to show their new outfits too. I tried to explain to Robbie that white pants aren't really considered fall/winter but he insisted that was what he wanted.[IMG]

    37. Wow! More cuteness! Merlin's Mom your crew is "dressed to the nines" for the fall/winter season.

      Don't worry about the white pants; just consider it "winter white". Of course, here in California, we don't really get a winter season, so white is always worn. It's always beach weather here! :cool:

    38. I think sometimes it would be great to have nice weather year round, but then again I would probably miss the changing seasons - that is until the first snow :lol: Kathy is wearing a DollNStyle outfit, and Amy snuck into the photo with her. I put their hands in their pockets to help loosen up the stringing a little hopefully[IMG]

    39. Merlin's Mom, they are so cute! I love how you dress them! :aheartbea

      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
      Gah! I'm so tired of waiting for my Maggie! I had hoped I'd hear something last month, after 4 months of waiting, but here we are in Oct and still no word! Arrrrg! :crushed
    40. I keep hoping you are going to say you got your shipping notice from DDE as mine would be just about a month after yours arrives. I guess we have to expect the 5 month wait which would put mine at the end of November :horror:
      Here is Rosalie for now and the last photo for awhile [IMG]
      • x 2
    41. Aw, how cute is she!! Her hair...her ears showing and the outfit all give her quite the pixie look!
    42. Thank you stellarphenomena - Amy is a favorite along with Nancy as they have such sweet faces.
      I would really like to order Tong Tong, but the 5 month wait through DDE is a killer :sorry. I don't have a paypal account and prefer not to open one. Does anyone know if you order from 5Star can you use your credit card through paypal without opening an account? I know that works with Fabric & Friends.
    43. Merlin's Mom, I love her hair! It's sort of reminds me of how Hermione Granger's hair is described in the Harry Potter books.
      Did you make her dress? It looks very warm and toasty. She's definitely ready for the season.
      Wish I could help you with your question about Paypal and 5Star. I've never ordered directly from them. And, I've had a Paypal account for years.
    44. Thank you! Yes I did make her dress, she wanted to co-ordinate with Robbie :). I may just pre-order Tong-Tong from DDE, should have her by next spring :roll:
    45. I feel your pain, Merlin's Mom! Those five month waits are murder! But, I'm actually thinking of ordering an Aiden, so I will be in the same boat as you. But, Im wondering if I should wait and see if they have a Christmas Event. There could be some awesome bonus extras.
      Be glad you haven't ordered a PeaksWoods tiny. I ordered an FOF Vampire Leo girl, and then found out the wait time for PW dolls is easily over six months! OMG! Sometimes this hobby is just crazy!
    46. I read that Lati dolls are taking up to a year, and that is ordering them direct - this really is a crazy hobby! :pout:
    47. WOW! A whole year! That's crazy!
      I know I waited 13 months for two Dollshe boys but, at the time, that was kind of the deal with Mr. Dollshe; mercurial and artistic and who knows what he's gonna do next. But, I really don't like waiting that long for a doll. No company should make their customers wait a whole year for a product. That's just rude! They should hire more help if they are that backlogged.
      I snuck over to the Lati thread and people did not sound happy. I guess it makes me appreciate that my Maggie will show up sooner than later. *crosses fingers*
    48. I don't mind the wait if you can put a down payment and pay the rest when the doll is complete and ready to ship (but not over 5 months). I don't like the company having my money long before the doll is ready to be sent. That is really the main reason I have ordered either dolls that were in stock or from DDE where you can put a deposit. I have heard of some companies disappearing without the dolls being completed and people were just out the money they had already sent :horror:
      I am so anxious for my dolls to arrive - I am getting antsy!
    49. Oh, believe me, Merlin's Mom, there was a point during that long-long wait where people thought Dollshe had run off with the money! LOL! Luckily everything worked out. Mr. Dollshe felt so bad for the long wait that he gave all of us who waited 30% off our next dolls. I immediately ordered an IM Hound, and got it in 3 months. I guess he was finally geared up for production by then. :sweat
      I like ordering in-stock dolls too, but most of the dolls I like are usually not available that way. But, I've had good luck in the Marketplace getting pre-loved dolls. However, I'm always meticulous about checking the seller's feedback before I buy a doll.
      Are you going to dress up any of your dolls for Halloween?
    50. I have too many dolls to do holidays :lol:. I have trouble doing all of them twice a year, but I love seeing dolls that are dressed for the holidays and Halloween is always fun! Once I get Qunitas, Aiden 5 and Yami I may dress them next year for Halloween as they would fit right in with the season. Do you dress any of your dolls for Halloween?
    51. I rarely order from companies myself due to the stressful waiting period. I tend to buy second hand or on layaway with DDE/MoC. The 2 times I did the wait wasn't too bad. I don't think I could deal with waiting over a year. :eek: I'd love to see pics of dolls in Halloween costumes if anyone does it! I've dressed my anthros in the past, but its too much trouble to make everybody something at this point.
      To keep on the 5star topic, Quintus, Yami and Aiden definitely scream dress me in Halloween! :)
