Thank you. I start making sparkly eyes for my minifees because the fullsets got so awesome eyes. Now nearly all my bjds got sparkle glitter eyes ^^

 

Wow! I wanted to share the lovely surprise my Husband had waiting for me after work!

He got me a lovely Fullset Vivian! Isn't she pretty? (He must have gotten the last Fullset at Denver Dolls)

I love her Alice costume! (But, I gotta say the hair is crazy long!) And, he told me he also has a PIPOS Rose Curo bunny coming to be her White Rabbit! What a guy!!!

 

What wonderful gifts! Your husband it surely a keeper!! Aren't the outfits lovely - my Maggie came with the same dress but in a pale lavender. What size is the rabbit he ordered? She has a lovely face and I like her eyes.

 

Thank you Merlin's Mom! Yeah, my sweet hubby is definitely a keeper! (He's the main reason I have so many dolls. Birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas, Mother's Day, you name it, and he's jolly-on-the-spot with a new doll.)

I agree with you, I think she has a lovely face, too! It's very sweet. I'm so happy to have her!



About the PIPOS rabbit, I just went to their site and it says the body is 27cm tall, and that includes the length of the long bunny ears. So, maybe his head will come to her shoulders. Whatever the case, I love PIPOS rabbits! (I have such a thing for bunnies )

 

They will be very cute together. I labeled a bottle with drink me and put eat me on a little cake that I had on hand. Maggie has a stuffed white rabbit. Does your Vivian pose well - they ones I have this size pose very well, better than the 30cm ones.

 

Oh! Merlin's Mom, I wanna see a picture of your Maggie with all the stuff you described! That sounds so cute! Pleeeze!

Yes, Vivian does seem to pose better than my 30cm. She doesn't seem to be as tightly strung, so that definitely makes a difference.

The one thing that bothered me about this Fullset is the poor girl had no underwear! No panties or slip. Maybe it's no big deal, but my dolly OCD just wasn't having it. Luckily, I had a spare pair of pantaloons lying about. (I pulled them down a bit so you can see.)

 

Hi Rabbit-moon. There is a picture of Maggie with her table and rabbit on page 36 - it isn't the best. I will try to get a better one later as my husband is out and took his cell phone with him. When I first saw your photo of Vivian I got excited that it might be the Maggie you ordered - thought maybe the dolls would come sooner than 5 months

 

@Rabbit-moon Ooooh, congrats on both your new girl AND your Pipos bunny! I love Curo. He is the cutest ever.

Rabbit-moon, did you check inside your Quintus's head for the horns? My Tong Tong's horns were inside her head when I got her. I don't think my Quintus's were, but it was awhile ago, and I can't remember for sure.

 

Hi MichelleAK! Yes, I checked in his head, and sadly, no horns came with him. Oh well, that's okay. The character he was going to embody didn't have horns. Thanks for responding!

 

You did an amazing job on them! I love sparkle eyes and they can be hard to find in the colors I want. I made 3 pairs of the DIY into glitter eyes for my Pipos Cheese mice. I have 2 more pair to play with. One will be black glitter, hee! I just have to get some black glitter first. You did pupils in yours - mine I went the easy lazy route, lol, and just went pupil less. I will eventually try some with pupils. What kind of glitter did you use, if you don't mind my asking?

@Rabbit-moon - I used to. I have had 3 total in my years of BJD collecting and am kicking myself for letting them all go. 2 were the old bodied ones, and my final one had the new jointed body. I didn't really have a preference between the bodies.

 

Okay I think Iris at F&F is messing with me. There is another Ray for sale on her site. I will definitely resist this time, but I really wonder how many of them she still has. Also wanted to bump this back to the first page

 

For anyone who has one, How tall is Vivian?

 

Merlin's Mom, what dah what? Another Ray has shown up at F&F? I guess they must have found another one hidden in the back someplace. (LOL! I hope they're not messing with you.) I would love to get him, but I'm tapped out on dolly money for the rest of this year. I went a little crazy with the dolly buying to celebrate my 10 year anniversary in this hobby.
(I regret nothing!!!)

thealienprince, my Vivian is 26cm. Are you thinking of getting a Vivian? She's a darling little girl.

 

Rabbit-moon answered regarding her height. I just wanted to add that they pose really well.

Good for you! Can't regret adding dolls you want when they are available - life is too short not to have some fun!

Rabbit-moon, Thank you! Yes, she's pretty new - my most recent BJD!! I didn't expect to love her so much, she's adorable and the outfit is from Dollzone. (30cm).

 

She is adorable! I am not the best at names, but maybe something English like Picadilly or Phryne (pronounced Frynee). Sorry not much help.

AW, I love her! I looked at her too....just didn't care for the pink outfit. She look great.

Their faceups do really complement red hair eh?

 

I wasn't thrilled with the outfit or the wig, but she is such a pretty sculpt. They do make good redheads. Thank you!

That green dress looks so cute with her red hair. And, I love the little beaded necklace. Mind if I ask where you find all your lovely jewelry for your dolls? Do you make them yourself?

Thank you Rabbit-moon. I do make the jewelry - I use to do fashion doll makeovers (years ago) and have tons of beads and charms from when I did them so I put them to use for the BJD's now. I use the magnetic clasps for the necklaces and bead elastic for the bracelets so it is pretty easy to put them together. I also have lengths of chains and charms for necklaces. It just adds a little extra touch.

Natalie has changed outfits 4 times since this photo and finally decided on another outfit that the necklace and bracelet goes with. They are so much fun to play with!

You are right, those little bracelets and necklaces that you make do add a lovely extra touch to your doll's outfits.

You should sell them on Etsy or something! I know I would buy several!

Mine came with horns - at first I thought he didn't, but they were on the inside of the head.

I like Purity Seal better than MSC - I use both, but the MSC tends to go white on me more often. I think it's the moisture.

I still have to start on my lot - I've not been feeling well for a few weeks, and spraying (even with protection) was out of the question. At least they're more or less dressed (even if it is in old Ken clothes!)

Thank you Dybbuk (Natalie) - I've always like that name. I'm sorry I can't help you with the resin color question. I am sure one of the collectors that have been collecting these dolls from the start will be able to answer. Are you planning on adding a 5Star doll to your collection or do you already have one?

 

@Merlin's Mom : I do have one in my family. It's a Jadite. I really like your girl though. I was thinking of getting another mantis doll but I wanted to get a different head for the Jadite body. A more girly head, so I was glancing through owner photos. The Nancy mold is really cute. She has a pretty mouth shape

 

Nancy would be a cute friend for you Jadite. Were you thinking in the green resin or another color. From previous posts it looks like 5Star is very accommodating so you may be able to get her in any skin tone they offer.

 

@Merlin's Mom : I was going to try and get a different color. I believe someone may have gotten their mantis in 'moon skin' which is why I was wondering if they may have renamed the skin color. That's good to know about them being accommodating though! My Jadite was my first doll from 5Star and the quality was really exceptional. It kind of amazes me they are priced so affordably!

Denver Dolls appears to have "moon grey" skin advertised for Aiden 5. Also, on the 5Star site, Aiden 5's default resin color is moon gray. That must be the color in the photo they have of him. From the picture, the moon gray looks a little on the bluish side. (kinda pretty, I think!). Im sure if you ask they will accommodate your request.

Has anyone noticed that photos are disappearing from the posts? I wonder if it is just the photobucket pictures as others seem to still be in the thread - very strange.

Very strange - it shows up when I come in to edit to say it isn't working, but then doesn't show up in the actual post. If you click on the red x in the picture box it does take you to the photo in photobucket though.

Im a little bummed about my Ray. A rather noticeable piece of his face-up flaked off on his right cheek! . Dang! I really like his face-up, too.

I don't know how to repair something like this, or even if it's possible. (Oh well, he'll just have to get in line behind my DZ Chen and Yuu for a visit to the face-up salon.)

 

I am certainly no expert on face-ups but DDE has some tips on their web site. Maybe it is an easy fix if it is just some of the blush? So sad to hear that this happened as I really like your Shelly

I wish I knew where to find ready made jeans for the 30cm dolls, most of the yosd ones are too short. I have made a couple of pair of just elastic waste pants for them, but would love some jeans that look more like real ones with pocket detail etc.

 

Merlin's Mom, do you have Jay? This is the girl version, though I'd like a boy. What color skin tone do like best? I usually like normal, but I find the 5Star "white" quite pretty. I'm confused though, this doll looks "paper white" which I don't want but my Amy sculpt was listed as white and it's more of a cream??

I don't have Jay yet - I ordered her as a girl in Normal skin tone, but with the long wait I probably won't have her until Thanksgiving or Christmas . My Nancy(s) and Amy are white skin and it is a lovely color of white, but not sure that I would call it cream - maybe somewhere in between. I do think that it darkens with age so maybe it gets more cream color then. I think Jay is adorable, and you won't be disappointed with either skin color.

 

Oh Merlin's Mom, Robbie looks so adorable! That is so cool that you can sew! You really do a nice job! He looks so cute and so serious in his new outfit.

Hi Rabbit-moon! I can only take credit for the pants. The shirt is from Affordable Designs in Canada - Denis Bastien makes the LeAnn dolls and Lenny is the mail counter part - he is 12" tall also, but the overalls I ordered aren't long enough in the torso to fit the 5 Star dolls, the shirts fit perfectly. I am leary of buying the Lenny jeans as they probably won't be long enough in the crouch for the boys other wise his jeans are great too - I have some of the LeAnn ones that I use for my off topic dolls. Having trouble finding cute boy prints in the right scale - guess I will have to check out a quilting store instead of just JoAnn's.

 

Merlin's Mom, I think I'm going to try some Dollmore Narsha clothing. What about Iplehouse KID or Nine9 Style Bunny Nine clothes? May be just a little big!

Hi Stellarphenomena - I did purchase a Narsha dress, it is a little big around the waist and a little long. The pants may be okay with just a tuck in the back. I think the KID clothes may be the same as Narsha. I am not familiar with Bunny Nine clothes. I am going to go search the web for them and the Bunny Nine measurements.
