5StarDoll Tinies Discussion Part 1

Yay, I'm not the only one who likes Tong Tong - and she's available in tan skin! That would be perfect as I have a normal skin Lati and a white skin MSD!

Anyway, there are a couple of things that I'm wondering about...Are these weird horns attached with magnets?! I don't want them....But the holes for the magnets are probably part of the molds so I can't ask them to leave them out, can I?

On their site it says I can ask for custom make-up - Their english doesn't seem too good though. Would you do it? (I'd want a tan skin doll so I'd ask for more intense colors)


I'm so torn....Originally I wanted to get a Volks Yo - but this is a very cute (and much cheaper) alternative....

 

tinydancingdoll: the horns are attached with magnets (the paws/hands are magnetic too), though I don't know if there are holes for the horns, you'd have to email them or PM doll*fan.

I'm getting a tan Ria eventually (though currently it looks likes I'm getting Tong Tong first), and I've been thinking about asking the same thing for the faceup. I'd say it's at least worth inquiring about.

 

You know, tinydacingdoll, from what I've seen of dolls that have magnetic ears, if you don't want to use the horns, they aren't actual holes, it's normally just the magnets already inside the resin. It doesn't look like there are any indents in the head.

 

I was in Denver Doll yesterday and Tong Tong was staring at me from her box. She is super darling!! Later she was behind the counter and my daughter was asking what they were doing and they said gluing back on a magnet in her paw before putting her out for sale. So I went about checking out and decided to ask the big question...cost. I was seriously thinking there was no way. I bought her. That is my story.

So on to other important details to hopefully answer a few questions:

She wears YoSD sized clothes and shoes. I ended up buying a GuessDoll Little Emily outfit so she wouldn't be nakie. It fits very well. When I got home I tried another YoSD outfit I bought from a DoA member(for my BC Kumi and it was too big) on her and it was a tiny bit loose. I love it on her.

LeekeWorld shoes all fit without socks. GuessDoll shoes were too small. Doll Heart Morgan style fit, but the others were too small. I tried another pair on her that my BC Kumi wears and they fit her but are loose. I don't know the brand. I think with socks they would fit better.

 

They take 12-14 mm eyes.

By the way, Mint on Card has Tong Tong and Mia in stock (as well as several of their mini-sized dolls) if anyone's been waiting to order and doesn't want to wait.

 

He just arrived!

So I took a few pictures (literally just a few, I'm sorry!) of his box opening and hopefully can have those up tonight after I get home. I took some pictures of his skin tone compared side by side to DZ's WS, to at least attempt to give some sort of example of his tone. After all he appeared a few shades darker on my monitor in his website pictures than he is in real life.

So far the only things I have to comment on is that his resin is VERY shiny. The shine dulled down quite a bit once I sprayed some MSC onto him, so I think I may just have to coat his whole body to help dull that down. And the default wig they sent with him has elastic in it and refuses to stay on his head even with a rubber band in place! In the end that's fine for me as I won't be using that wig for him in the first place, but for people ordering who are interested in using his default wig I thought you should be aware of this (then again, I can't say for certain if all their wigs are like that, just the one I received).

Other than that he's very cute to look at. His default eyes aren't low quality, they're actually quite nice (and happen to be in exactly the color I had in mind for my character so it all works out in the end!)

Overall I'm really happy with him I can't wait to start seeing some more TT's now.

 

The magnets are in the resin but still accessable, and the eye wells are really deep, I don't know if this is normal or unusual but compared to the only other doll I have (a DZ Reiko) it's weird xD

Hopefully soon I can have pictures of him completed, His wig wasn't sent with him by mistake so I'm waiting for that to arrive. And he's currently getting his faceup and some cloths made for him.

5SD has two new tinies, Bi Bi and Quintus. Both of them have horns, and Bi Bi's are really cute.

In other news, Bi Bi is the first tiny-sized doll my boyfriend has said he likes. Progress!

 

Hi everyone!
Is it just me or are the hands of the new type bodies really so much smaller than on the older (A) ones? I love the size of their bodies, prefer them over many of the tinies with shorter legs, but the handsize-thing really seems to put me off going for the newest bodies...

 

Here is my little 5Star Mia. I have to admit- she was a total impulse buy because I was tired of waiting for my Customhouse order. Of course, the Customhouse order arrived the next day, lol! But she is very cute- she poses very well.

I want to the post office tonight and picked her up. I love her faceup but l think DDE gave me white skin one. She looks sooo white is this normal or is it me. I found out that the Liv wigs don't fit. The Ty clothes fit and that's all l can think of for now.

I just got my Tong Tong in white skin. the newer body type's knee joints matched the shape of the soom glot hooves and the resin color was really close. after some blushing and suedeing I managed to make an adorable hybrid! I love Tong Tongs face sculpt so much! so much attitude!

I am sad her hands are so small, I'm starting a quest to find white resin hands that fit that are a little larger.

I have pretty high hopes for 5stardoll. I'm liking their product so far! (now to figure out her name )

 

You might check out Doll Zone BB hands. I switched the hands on my AoD and DZ BBs.

 

the thighs on the 5stardoll's sculpt are a little too large, I had to suede the joint to keep the hooves from sliding around, but they are so close, you can't tell really.

 

so, if you're looking to get a wig for your 5stardoll tiny, I've noticed the head size (at least on tong tong) is a little over 6.5in.
I'm using a 6/7 mohair wig by shaggies I got from DDE.

Epic Tong Tong, s0yuz! She's the first dyed one I've seen! I didn't even notice she had no face up!
(And I also just noticed you have 666 posts, but that's completely unrelated, lol)

 

Has anyone else noticed that Mia had slightly different hands before they changed the mould.
Her right hand was fine but her left hand was a bit thicker and looks like a boys. Anyone else notice this or is it just me?

 

looks like they all had thicker/larger hands on their older a-type body.

I swung by our local doll shop today (well, it's half ceramic studio/shop and half bisque doll shop, but they have eyes and wigs and clothes and such), and I now I just want my Ria more. I seriously need to start making some money .

 

I got my Tong Tong in recently, but forgot to update here! lol

Some of the things about Hatsuko (I love her btw!): I ordered her from MoC and she was in stock at the time. To answer peoples earlier questions, it could just be mine, but...

Magnets - she has them for her horns in the head, but on the outside (they get hidden under the wig anyways)
Hands - the normal hands are what she came with on, but they don't have magnets, they are hooks for both pairs

I just order 2 pairs of dollmore dear doll size shoes for Rini in pink and black l will late you all know how they fit.

 

My tong tong's magnets for her horns are inside her head........ Perhaps when they moved to the b-type bodies they changed it?

 

My tong tong's came with the b-type body, but her horn magnets are also inside of her head. But that doesn't mean that they didn't recently change it, since I ordered mine before MoonMage did.

 

I just got my Tong Tong earlier this month. She fits in Dollheart clothing (she stole my Christmas, lol), and a lot of clothes meant for porcelin dolls her size. And adding a half inch I believe it was to barbie patterns makes those fit too! She's freaking adorable!

 

Would she fit in Littlefee clothes?

 

My TongTong definitely does not fit into clothing made for Littlefee.

hi just to late you guys know that the dear doll size shoes from dollmore fit the 5stardoll tinys feet very well. I'm keeping Rini. Rini keeps looking at me like please don't sell me so due to this l'm not. Were the hack can l get clothes that fit beside yo-sd. Has anyone tryed Liv clothes yet.

 

5 star dolls tinies sorta fit into the imple doll tinies clothing. My tong topping is wearing jaspers outfit, tho it's a bit snug.

 

Has anyone ordered/own a Tiny Bibi??? I plan to get her (mine will be a girl) but id love to see an owner pic ^^

 

The soom Teenie gems are actually smaller than LTF...LTF are only a tad slimmer than Yos. So what do these guys wear?

 

My Tong Tong has been using Barbie and Ken clothes until i make his own clothes (or buy ones ;p).

 

I'm thinking about buying a 5stardoll body for my customhouse ange.... I was wondering how they compared with both the body sizing and resin colour?

But not every barbie clothes fit the tiny, some you need little bit alteration.

I already have plans for Todd, but despite finally having a job am not in the situation to be saving up for a doll, even the smaller, lower-priced variety (sigh...) I may get Rex at some point as well, but I'm not too keen on Aiden. His sculpt is very unhappy-looking (but then, I thought the same of Mia when I first saw her and she is now on my wishlist), the teeth look a little weird, plus he looks like a total Hellboy ripoff. It would be awesome to just get the accessories/special parts, though, especially that bracer.

 

Aiden is ADORABLE! Those teeth and that expression slay me. Plus, it helps that I am a total Hellboy fangirl... If I got him, I'd have to sand off the "hair" on the tip of his tail, and maybe mod the arm to look like it does in the comics.

I've never even given 5star more than a glance, but I love this little guy. I'll have to pay more attention to them. I am also curious as to what they mean by 'yellow skin'.

Don't know why but when I first red they had yellow skin, I imagined it to be bright pure yellow like the red so yeah I'm curious too as it might be like normal yellow.

I like Aiden when I first saw the photo, then I thought he reminded me a bit of Hellboy, and then I saw his arm which I think is awesome.
I'll see what happens come pay day.

Since its not limited like the red resin, I'm assuming the yellow resin will be a normal human-ish tone.

 

I bought a red Aiden today. My Ducky so needs a demon minion. Not too keen on the default faceup, however. So much gloss on the bottom lip. :P
So I'll paint him myself.

 

yeah I bought red aiden too..just love his face...a cute demon I do like the default face-up just asked them to add freckles....sorry he is going to be a cute boy just want different hair and eyes for him..
