Thanks Molliebean, he does look good (and I won't tell), but he is cursing at himself atm because his thumb was twisted and the full photo wasn't usable. So I told him I didn't post it, hehehe. He is also upset that his minion, Rory, is sitting with Kilian right now. I better get a move on and remedy that before the fireballs mess up my already messy room.

 

Hello! I've been thinking about buying a Super Star 70 male body! It has a good price and it looks beautiful! But I don't have and 5Star dolls so I am not sure. Is it single or double jointed? Does it poses well? And what is the head girth of Black and Bright? I am thinking about buying this body to use it with a head that fits 8-9 wig size (Cloud strife DIM minimee head). Thank you very much!!

 

Dark wears a 8-9 stretchy wig. I don't have a body but I love Dark's head and the resin is lovely.

Dark/Bright uses 8-9 wig. Tho I am partial to AOD body over 5Stardoll because of the look of the body and less engineering issues. But that's me. In my honest opinion, if you want slender but with muscle tones, go with AOD. I found 5stardoll a bit too lean and slightly emicapted. Several of my 5SD heads ended up on AOD body.

 

What I like about my 5stardoll bodies is how they are sort of stiff....They all stand like rocks even in high heels.

Hello @Acyd !. I don't have a Star female body, but I have a Star Adult, and she is able to support another doll (I did it with a BID Bonnie and a 5 star child Amy) without help, on heels

 

@Enid Black Wow, that's a proof of stability!!
I think I'll seriously consider that body for the floating head I'm waiting for.

Forgive my snooping but is there a coyote sleeping behind your dolls?

 

Don't worry, it's not snooping, Molliebean! No, she's not a coyote, she's a Czechoslovakian Wolfdog, it's a dog breed . She's Kira, my female, and I have a male too (if you keep "snooping" in the Flickr photos you can see another, darker dog ^^). Sometimes I do photograph them with my dollies, as they kindly cooperate .

 

And the wig arrived! Well, roughly two weeks from Canada to Italy and no customs, I'm swell .

I had to restyle it a bit a cut the fringe because there was a shorter layer at the base and I had to cut some more hair on the front so the wigcap didn't show, and although it's a bit wobbly, I'm pretty happy about it ^^.

And my sister managed her face up a couple of weeks ago, AFTER A WHOLE YEAR (between she not having time and the bloody rain it seemed impossible!)...


Considering that the wig is of the right size but was for a Kaye Wiggs XD

Thank you Molliebean! My sister is awesome, I love her face-ups because they're very natural ^^. I have other two dolls with her faceups and 3 more waiting for it, if the weather cooperates ^^. (my sis is awesome at make up in general, I actually had her doing my make-up for my wedding four months ago )

I've been searching for a wig of that colour for months, I found it looking for a completely different one XD. I'm very happy about it! I found it on Etsy, seller Angelssewing ^^.

I haven't done anything in a long time with my big dolls either; I've been so focused on my YOSD-sized 5Star dolls. I suppose, as with any hobby, it is cyclical and I'll get around to my big kids again. I still love my big dolls to bits!

 

I had to have some surgeries so I wasn't able to play with my dolls for a couple years but just having them around was cheering.
I hope to start playing with them more. In the meanwhile my daughter got out of the hobby and gave me all her dolls..

 

Oh! Sorry to hear about your surgeries, Molliebean. I hope you are doing better! *sends hugs*. Also, sorry your daughter left the hobby. It must have been nice having someone close to share your interest in bjds. (No one in my family is into dolls, but my husband tries to be supportive of my hobby.)

I agree, even when I don't play with my dolls, they are a comfort to have around. I hope you get to play with yours more as you feel better. Actually, even if I don't play with my dolls, it's always fun to come to the forum and check out everyone else's dolls. Hang in there!

 

Thank you Rabbit-moon! I am much better now! Finally! My daughter has always been more into horses, I think she was humoring me. Happily my husband is very supportive also and buys most of my dolls.

@Molliebean That lipstick on Marie is amazing! It gives me hope for the deep red I want to use on one of my girls.

I'm looking at finally getting my second Angelo to be the twin of my first - the characters were identical twins at birth, but one of them is transgender. So she'll still be on the male body but I'm looking forward to playing with her hair and wardrobe compared to her brother. Wonder if Telior will consent to be a model for his sister in the meantime...

How are my favorite boys Thaddeus and Reed doing?

 

Thaddeus is well and sassy as ever with a new faceup and Reed has moved on to a new family who really needed his protection.

 

Thad is looking fabulous as usual! Surprised you let Reed move out! I'm sure his new family is delighted!

 

I think I was surprised as everyone in my BJD group that I let Reed go. But Reed and his new friend really needed each other. Reed kind of took it upon himself to move on. And there were tears of joy.
Thank you, Thaddeus is happy with his new look too. He loves teasing and tormenting one of my new vampires.

 

By the look on the vampire's face... he is aware of Thad's wiles.

 

Indeed I think so too. They are my two favorite teasers and the both have volatile tempers but they get along somehow.
If I remember right your Severus (Tumnus) was my favorite.

 

Hey does anyone happen to know if the 71cm boys come with the body that 5 Star Doll currently has on their site? I just want to know because I know they've changed to a new one but I don't know if that IS the new body or the old one.

 

Does anyone know why the 5stardoll site is showing all of its Star Adult (62cm) dolls as sold out? I looked on their web site and Facebook page and didn't see anything about this...

 

If they are sold out, chances that they discontinued the adults dolls. They might have new ones coming in soon. The summer event should be coming up soon and that's probably when they might introduce some new sculpts.

 

5Star is kind of notorious for discontinuing dolls and doll-bodies without prior notice. (Which I think is kind of a bummer!)

But, it would be nice to see some new SD sized sculpts. It's been a while since 5Star issued a new Adult sculpt.

 

Makes me glad I got Saraf when I did as I'd never be able to find him 2nd hand since he's a Dark in the special request dark grey.

 

Same ^^ I'm super glad I got Sky (Kevin) when I did. I'd be sad if they discontinued the entire line, especially Kevin and Eric, but I am curious to see what they're going to do next.

I'm so happy I got Meike (Michelle) last year O.o...

 

That's a pain, I still hadn't gotten hold of my second Angelo to be my first's twin!

 

I see the Adult bodies are still available for sale seperately, even if full dolls aren't. They're cheaper than they used to be, too. If I had money, I'd get a body for my Eric Elf while I still can...

 

@SapphireStargazer I saw that too. Are their bodys pretty good?

 

They're nice. Not the best poseability but can be fixed with sueding. I personally preferred the older version over the current one.

 

Personally, I think their bodies are fabulous. My Star20 (Adult) body is by far the best posing body in my collection, although he did need his hip sockets sueded simply because they "pop" out of joint occasionally. Other than that, mine holds poses exceptionally well and is very flexible. Plus, they're almost spot-on SD13 size so finding clothes and shoes for them is a lot easier than it is for some other dolls.

OH GOSH...

I've just realized (after 18 months, so, yeah) that the reason why my 5Stardoll Michelle's left arm bends stupidly at the elbow is because they probably sent me two right forearms...

I'm going to try to contact them again (I contacted them with the photos when I got the doll, but they didn't answer), but... is there anyone here with an SD female body with two left forearms? XD XD

 

Did 5Star ever get back to you about your problem with your Michelle?

 

Anyone ever got the 71cm body? I am considering getting it soon for a floating Tumnus head I have. How is the body and how does it look?

 

I just ordered their 71cm Dark so when he gets here I can take photos. It may be a while though.

Anyone here got older 5stardoll super male body? I need to see the picture of the body to compare to a doll body I have. Not the recent ones, but the ones that came before Bright and Dark (I have the newer version, so it's no need). Please show me some pictures! Thanks!
