5stardoll Supers

I just saw this site and joined 5stardoll. I was looking at the two super boys and I think they are wonderful! The resin is supposed to be really good and the sculpts are nice. I really like the guy Tomnus with the horns
I see that they have free EMS shipping too. That is a real plus!
They need to still add the clothing , shoe, wig, options for these dolls on the website as they say they are available but, no pics or prices posted yet.

Does anyone own one these products? I would like to hear from an owner if they pose and are made well.

They're beautiful but... I really hope they're NOT trying to do the Narnia characters because....well... no. But I really like them individually, just not as those characters!

Well, Tumnus doesn't have goat feet, and Edmund... looks nothing like the Edmund I'm familiar with, so I'd say maybe they're somewhat inspired-by, but certainly not even trying for exact. I think if they were trying for a Narnia look, they'd have more exotic clothes on. *laugh*

I'm a bit disappointed in the poseability of the Super body though. No mobility thigh joint, and it seems elbow motion is limited. Kind of unfortunate, since their Minis are rather nice.

 

Color me impressed. I really like both of these new sculpts, though I think I'm leaning toward like Tumnus a little more.
Though I find I really prefer dolls with a chest joint, so the lack of one leaves me a little bit sad. :\
The price is also very nice, especially considering what the doll comes with. I'm definitely going to be keeping a closer eye on 5stardoll.

 

I think the names are just ones they liked and went with instead of a copying of the characters from Narnia. Maybe the scultper was watching it while working? XD

I have to say I'm impressed with how the sculpts came out, especially at the price they did. Under $300 with custom make-up if you want it, plus freebies.

 

I am considering Tumnus. I only wish they would put on the website how much his clothing is? Don't think you can beat Free shipping, free wig, free shoes. Also impressed with Tan for only $10.
I am waiting on a email from them before I decide on him.

i fully recommend 5SD they're super kind and very professional, their resin is great and the dolls are beautifully finnished...!!!

Im planning on ordering Tumnas head on a super girls body and having them do the faceup the same except make the eyebrows thinner, how hard would that be with 5star doll???

 

We ordered an Edmund from 5Star Doll and I have to say we are impressed! Where else can you get a tan doll for only $10 more, eh? And the resin is sooooooo smooth. I think they call it their "soft touch resin". There was not a single mold or parting seam on any part of him! Not one! As someone mentioned, they do actually come strung a bit too tight. But other than that, they pose really well! So if you're thinking about ordering one, you better hurry because Free EMS shipping ends on the 15th of this month!!! Here are some pics of our boy......

We've named him "Dastan" and he will most likely be a photographer in our photostories



The tan skintone is exquisite! And the price can't be beat for an SD size doll! We also loved the fact that they come with shoes! Would we buy from them again? Yes!



And I'd like to add that he shipped exactly 4 weeks to the day he was ordered! One of the shortest waits I've ever had for a doll!

 

Becca is lovely but I think the photo might be another case of a 5Star Doll photo not doing the doll justice.

 

Moms Tumnas on a girl body came in and she wont let me post pictures until shes completely in character. She came decapitated XDDDD and her eye faceup is damaged but shes lovely

 

hate to double post but thought I'd update you on the Tumnas on the girl body situation, contacted 5star doll and they are sending a replacement head! Their customer service is WONDERFUL!!!!

 

Very Interested in Edmund, he is so cheap! Such great deals! I hope that their free shipping is still in session.

 

So sad to tell you, but their Free Shipping ended on the 15th of June. Still.....with the prices of their SD's, even with shipping they are an awesome deal!

 

I would like to see a body review of the 5stardoll SD. I have two tinies and they have great bodies. Are the tall ones as good? How do they stand and sit? Do they need sueding?

 

How does the Super body pose? Is it worth it to buy one of these bodies for a floating head???
Can someone do a review for us please?

 

Im highly annoyed with 5Star right now, we are getting a replacement head after the faceup fiasco BUT now her hand is broken and shes only been played with once or twice >.> she survived a 3 day car ride in a box but as soon as we tried to dress her in something different her finger snapped off......The environmental resin is horrible!

milashelter - yes they have chanced to normal resin instead of the enviromental one. But the yellow skin has never been the enviromental one. I have ordered a super body for a floating head here - and I would love to see some posing pictures. I myself have 2 tinies from 5SD so i know the resin and their excellent finnishing of their dolls. No seamlines in sight!
Also - which clothes fit??

Yess - my 5SD SD body arrived today! I think he looks very good with my Insomnia Shinji head (Dollshe Freshskin - the body is WS). Pitty he came with a broken finger. I have mailed 5SD for a new hand.

I have been working all afternoon on a shirt for him - the SD10 pattern needs a little correction on the arms (need to be longer) and I think I want the next shirt a bit longer too. Sewing clothes is very difficult
Do any of you have made clothes for your 5stardoll SD´s?

ps - they will send me new hand with the free head that should ship sometime this month (and they told me in advance that it would come later, so that head is not late yet).

 

I'm researching for my next doll and am curious about Becca but the website photos aren't that great. Does anyone have a Becca with photos to share? And possibly give a review, too?

 

I have a male and I think he is great. He has no thigh joints though so he can not sit with his legs crossed - what I have done and might also a possibilty for you: I bought the body and got a head from somewhere else. For exsample Dollstown freshskin matches the white skin from 5stardoll. So you could buy a head from them and the female body from 5stardoll for only 190 dollars.

I think that their bodies are great - aspecially for this price.There are not many SD sized dolls available for such a good price. The resin is smooth, heavy and the body is well formed. It can stand and sit up without support - and the bodies are not less posable then for example the Sooms.

If you want to see Becca´s head without the silly face-up (how they managed to get it that bad i do not know), look in the parts section for the Super female body.

 

I like the idea of buying the body and head separately. Will totally research that. Thanks for the advice!

 

I have a 5 Star Tumnus, and I love him. I'm not sure what resin he's made of, but it is their yellow.

MrsDiablo Hmm - they take about 7 weeks at the moment, but with the summer event ended it should be 6 weeks again. I got mine after 3 weeks. They must have had him in stock or something

I totally overlooked her during their free head and free doll event because of that awful faceup. Now I wish I got her lol. She looks great. They really should get a better faceup artist.

 

I got my order today, my boy with three broken fingers!! My other doll gender issues!!! I know I should inform the company but I'm not going stress over it, I'm going to take care of it myself.

They have a new girl. Michelle has a much prettier faceup than Becca.

 

I really like the new girl! Her face looks so different from their other dolls that she almost looks like a different sculptor did her O_O! I'm really interested in seeing owner shots of her though.

 

I took a quick photo of Preston and I decided on using (Edmund's) head instead of (Tumus's) since Preston character is a bit of a snob. Tumus's head has a wicked smirk it wouldn't work.

Congrats on Michelle!! I ordered the new tinies and I picked her head as my free item. I was curious on seeing how she really looks. As for Preston hands, they said they will mail new hands but that it would take 15-20 days so I'm still waiting. In the body situation I had to order a new body but that I would get free shipping, so what I ended up doing was ordering a girl body and a Batboy head and the weapons. It's been 4 weeks now, so, I'm still waiting. for that.
Hopefully I'll hear something soon!

MrsDiablo - I'm glad you will get the new hands.

I love both Tumnus and Edmund, and I'm having a hard time deciding. I think Edmund's expression fits in more with what I had in mind for the character, though.

I'm really curious about the girls. Somehow I think their face-up just doesn't do them justice. Especially poor Becca.

 

Big Favor: For those who own a Tumnus and Edmund, could you please post a photo of their hands? Im very interested in getting an Edmund for a character I have, but I want to see a good photo of his hands before I decide.

Also, are they still producing their dolls with environmental resin? Im not a big fan of environmental resin

 

They only did so briefly. They stopped using it in July. And some colours were never environmental resin. I think the tan was, and the normal pink skin. But I'm pretty sure the yellow and white never were...

 

This is my Shinji head on a 5stardoll super body. I like the hands - but it might be wise to ask them if they can ship them unstringed or with extra protection inside the hand (mine got here with 1 finger broken - i got a new set of hands a month later). I had to chose between a RS, a FD or a 5SD superbody - all around the same price (around 200 dollar including the postcosts) and though this one does not have the mobility thighjoints that the other two do, it is very nicely sculpted.

Sounds like most people have the male Supers? Guess I will have to do some experimenting of my own with what will fit the female Supers. I'm thinking of ordering from Dollmore and sticking to loose-fitting things just in case. No clue as to what the heel feet will fit either! @.@ I might just have to take my chances.

 

I'm looking forward too. Most ppl have the male Supers because 5star came out with the male Supers about a year and a half ago while the females have only been out for a few months. Michelle only came out recently and the first girl was never very popular because of the not so nice photos of her on 5stars site. She might look better with a better faceup and better photos but who knows. I would love a michelle. If she had come out earlier I would have gotten her but there are too many events going on right now.
