When does the lottery end?

 

Just popping in quick to say that I asked Noppin if I could enter the lottery, and they said no. Not sure about other shopping services, but Noppin is a no-go for people overseas.

I really am so pleased, even though this is much more than I can afford right now.
But my Sumire (fairy skin Sist) has been sat as a faceplate for too long and she needed a body!
I fear though that I'm going to end up wanting to get her a body in November when the fairy skin Lusis and Sist come out, then keep my Ange as an Ange, either as she is with her default faceup or getting another one.
Too many Unoa though, if there is such a thing! xD

 

Still no Fairy Skin Ange for me!
They had a delay shipping out the previous release, so the elders were delayed. From what I know, all the unassembled dolls have been shipped out, but anyone who got an assembled faceup version is still waiting.
Apparently we'll get a shipping notice today but, it's already the evening here and nothing yet so, we shall see!
I'll be sure to post photos when she does finally arrive though!

I do have her Sist faceplate on now, but stupidly forgot to prepare an outfit (the right one hasn't popped up yet) or eyes, so she's looking a little sad! *laughs*
I promise pictures of her again when I have her all sorted out.

I really do prefer the fairy skin tone over the normal skin, and now when I compare my Fairy Elder and Fairy Chibi against my other girls, I get a little sad at how dark they are! *laughs*
I think I may be MAXED OUT on Unoa now mind you at 2 x 1.5, 2 x Elder and 1 x Chibi!

She is STUNNING! I love the Elder body so much, plus FAIRY SKIN!

She came with a wonderful pink wig which is what she's wearing right now, and it matches the Sist faceplate I have wonderfully!
Excuse the NUDITY and lack of eyes - plus I haven't styled the long wig and it's all one mass curl at the back right now - but here's a quick snap of my gang!
I really need to get eyes and an outfit for her, plus my chibi needs a faceup on one of her less insane faceplates; this one just makes me laugh xD

Just saw a New Year's Special notice-- looks like there'll be a few U-noa sisters at Noppin on Jan. 5th!

 

And the Elder Sisters are up at Noppin! 5 kits of each girl in fairy skin.

 

Has anyone ordered one of the Fairy skin sisters yet?

 

I think ppl are waiting til the last day, maybe to gather some money. *shrugs*

 

I'm considering it, if I don't win a Soom raffle.

I've never assembled one of these kits before, though. I'll admit, I'm a bit worried about something I read about the resin still being over the eyes in the Unoa kits? Are the eyeholes/eyeshapes defined at all? Would it be wise for me to invest in one of those round eye-sander sticks for the eyewells?

Would be nice to know what I might wind up getting myself into. XD;

 

The heads already have the eyewells defined (unless you're trying to open the eyes on a sleeping head), and have a thin "skin" of resin inside the eye that can be pushed out with your fingernail. It's a good idea to have a sharp craft knife and a little bit of ultra-fine sandpaper on hand, but the "unfinished" eyes are really easy to fix.

The eyehole/eyeshape is defined, you don't need an eye beveler, and it sounds much harder to deal with than it actually is

ETA: Borrowing an image from Flonne (thank you!) to give a visual aid -- as you can see, the residue of resin in the eye area is very thin and translucent, and it's obvious what is meant to be part of the faceplate and what needs to be removed:

I finally had one (thank to a member of DOA ^^)

Unfortunately she arrived with her neck broken (BE CAREFULL, you must not let faceplate on dolls when you send them!! Neck broke because of it ><), so I found her another torso and did something funny on the broken one.

She will totally change as her custom is in progress but here she is wearing clothes and wig from my other dolls:

Hello everyone,

I was wondering if anyone can recommend where to get string for the elder bodies. I have the default string she came with but it feels to stretched out and my doll can't stand is anyone else having this issue?

I can't believe it. One day after my topic of search, a member has PM me for a FP Ange new, in its packaging for $98 and who speaks French.
I'm definitely happy !

The next step is to find her a moe-line body with a small bust (I hope Fl makes again the hybrids bodies).

 

The preorder will open soon!! AL say it might be before the end of june! It's short notice but maybe some of us have cash ready (i wish I did!)

Usually they do a preorder for doll kits first, followed by a parts order seperately.. But I don't know exactly! I can ask when I go pick up my girl (eeeeeeeeek!!!), thanks! I'm so excited

Meet Astarte:


I did her faceup today, she looks just enough like her sister while still being different and her own self. She also got a nose job before I painted her, you can see what her nose looks like unpainted here.

I am SO in love with this doll. We've spent the afternoon idling together at home on this rainy day. Her personality is nothing like what i had planned/expected, but even better.

I have a few issues with her body/posing. She refuses to stand, her feet can't support her andsahe keeps leaning back. Her joints prevent me from tilting her forward in order to maintain balance. Then her left wrist os also a bit problematic. The little nubs tjat are supposed to help with posing can't reach the top of the wrist joint, so they're useless.

I think both problems can be fixed with minor modifications/ sanding. Does anyone else have the same problems and some advice to share?

Also, I wasn't able to ask about international preorders today as it was so busy! I know we can participate by using a japanese shopping service, but that's all I know right now. I may have a second chance to ask later this month!!

 

She desperately need a body ! Maybe a Moe-line with a small bust (I cross the finger to see again the hybrid bodies on Fairyland's site).

I have an idea for her and if the things didn't change, she'll be my very first attempt for make-up. ^0^

 

Congrats Daggerchan!!!!! I have the same issues with the body standing. Her knees keep buckling and won't stay. I think it's the string, it may be too loose/weak. I tried getting volks string, but it was too thick and wouldn't fit in her holes. I'm thinking of using wire, but I've been too busy to go to the hardware store to find wire that's already coated. Maybe it will help? I tried hot glue sueding, either I suck at it or it made it worse :/ She's so flimsy though. I hope someone else can provide some insight!

Mylene, can't wait to see your girl. I have mine on a MNF body so I don't see why an M-line wouldn't work I'm waiting on an M-line body from Fairyland. If it gets here before yours, I'll take comparison photos for you

Do you think we'll need to mod the neck ? Because in your picture, it doesn't seem adapted for the head.

 

Yeah she was on Kesha's flickr! She is currently for sale but it looks like a weird angle but no modifications needed really. I'll take more photos for you as soon as I can today to help explain. I did put hot glue around the headback to help her pose better and keep the head from popping down or up
